@@ur31337 then you dont own an xse lol only thing i see different is the dash screen
@gojjjd doooj I'm a master certified Toyota salesman, they're different. I've sold plenty of hatches, your XSE style included. ;-)
@@gojjjddoooj You're correct, I don't own one, I sell Toyota every day. ;-) XSE has SofTex the GR has fabric trimmed seats (less slippy on a track or spirited driving), a smaller and different gauge cluster on the XSE. Steering wheel different on the GR, headrests different on GR. Differential controls on the GR. We're only talking Core grade here. You move up to a Circuit and we're even more so. Have a great day and enjoy your XSE 6MT, those are highly desireable.
On a quick glance, yes they are very similar. Look closely, they are not. The cost savings of repurposing an existing model by reusing most of the interior is one of the reasons they ACTUALLY were able to build this car.
Lol, master certified car salesman… 😂 master of the markup…
This is an awesome car! But for the price of 40k? Not so much. I can get a mustang for similar pricing with much more power and still a manual. Different cars sure but this doesnt offer a ton more room over a mustang either.
I’m not a fan of the design or interior. I’m sure it’s a blast to drive. I’d easily take the Type Rover this.
Incredible job from Toyota for real raw racing cars fan. It seems like pure fun.
Im glad that Japanese still making real cars beside of rest of European manufacturers…
why do you do double clutching at this time? 12:44
Hi, I had mine Dyno’d stock and make 219whp and my 0-60 is also around 5.8 seconds on draggy. Rare/unique car. Fast…no!
That is disappointing.
How do you not put an armrest in a vehicle being promoted as a daily driver?
real sports car dont have armrest
Acura RSX, no armrest. VERY successful sports car
How is that possible that this AWD 300 HP car is slower from 0 - 60 as a FWD Elantra N with 280 HP?
Gearing
I prefer Elantra n over this for pure driving joy especially the cornering on that, exhaust sound and infotainment seems nicer
They are already pushing the FWD configuration with that amount of power...AWD is required here...plus the GR Corolla is a Toyota...which will keep it's value and be reliable, even 10 years from now.
@@XantoS771 making up excuses already…
anyone driven one of these and the gr86? would love to hear your opinion of difference
@danielcadena9496 I recently test drove the GR and it’s just amazing (to be fair tho I haven’t drove manual in 5 years) but once I got used to drive manual again this GR corolla is amazing to drive!
Do you think this would b a good first car?
In nz these things are $65k drive away and instock, but we only get circuit edition though
sad part is you won't be getting any of those cars at MSRP 😥
There are some people who have
@@CRatcliffe I've seen a bunch, actually
Bro u drive with fluidity like loosen up my guy
Excellent review! Do you happen to know what the revs are at 70 and 80 mph in 6th?
I'm hiding the bill from my wife. Lol. We only live once sigh
Put an arm rest and better seat cloth materials and then I'll consider paying upwards of 45k to 55k for a gr. It's ridiculous. They don't even resell at auction for what dealers sell them for.
I just paid 38K for my 22 accord sport 2.0t, if I could trade it for a GR Corolla core I’d do it in a heartbeat
I would love to get this car but I know it will be rare and have an insane markup
I found 37 of them available at MSRP, if you are ok without the performance package.
There is no freaking way to pay for this car, I hate it has the Corolla brand on it. Toyota should have named it something else.
@@kimboofdzners9574 I would have rather them brought the GR Yaris over
this car looks amazing to drive! that being said, given the choice i would take the type r, BUT, those things are rare as unicorns these days
Yaris is what we (USA) need!
wot a little beauty, would definitely take this over the type R or the VW
Corolla is a type of flower.
You said it was a 4 Clyinder 🤔
The rear wide-body panels look goofy. IMOP.
4:10 Especially when you lifted the hatch 💀
I love manual trnsmission.. here int he Philippines they only release the AT version
Bro we can't hear sound of car properly in recent videos. Please improve sound quality.
i want to buy this for msrp ❤
This is how reliable with GR things. But I’m not a big good fan of manual transmissions and I hate manual transmissions. But this kinda be manners 😉
I want to buy it but almost eveyone in my town has a corolla or a hybrid corolla. They will think I just have a normal corolla and think im an Uber driver lol
Is this availible in canada?
OMG 300HP 3 CYLINDER??? many 4's and some 6s cant pull those numbers!! Navigation came with my car (2014 mazda 3) 6:35 you said its a 4 cylinder but its a 3 right? Your description says 3.
Good car..
I like this.. 👍👍
These still have basic toyota interiors
CTR is a huge step up from this interior wise
One u thing u can’t see through video is how you overpowering the dashboard and cockpit feel of this car is , something the civic can’t do at all,
I have a rcF and this car feels sportier inside, didn’t occur to me at all until u actually sit in it
Feels like ur in dirt rally 2.0
Toyota never changes.
They do everything to cut the price.
Just look at the interior quality. Not even an armrest in the center console
Really sad what’s happening to this car. It’s made for people like me but I’ll never be able to get one.
For me.. the Toyota is my pick I’ve the honda
Barely driven, demo car. Asking $70,000 +tax....🤓.
Great review btw. And nice driving!!!! Maybe if there is a next next year and they offer soft-tec leather seats and all power down window switches, I'll have enough money to get one.
