Mine would try to feed the toddler and end up with 20 wasted bottles because my toddler was playing or doing any other action, I avoided nannies at all costs
I have to admit, the sims 4’s version of toddlers feels, acts and looks more realistic than the previous three games. Albeit with their babbling, animations, tantrums and interactions are actually more similar to that of a real life toddler. Like how they throw tantrums and them reaching stuff over the counter. Also their interaction with other adults and toddlers are also very childish and toddler-like, since they are supposed to be toddlers. Overall I think the sims 4’s depiction of toddlers easily trumps over its predecessors in terms of realism.
It can be unrealistic when you put food on a shelf way too high and the toddler grabs it out of thin air. And the fact they are immune to fire. Sims 4 toddlers are secretly witches.
Agreed. The Sims 2 toddlers were annoying sometimes and the ones in TS3 I didn't really see much but they were creepy. The 'grab food from counter' interaction was probably hard to animate, that's why they did this.
I think sims 4 toddlers are best because their interactions are realistic. For example, they can fall asleep in the high chair, throw a tantrum, slap people, walk around without having to sit down, curl themselves up on the couch and go to sleep...Also, children on any other sim game can only sleep in a proper bed once they reach child status, except for the sims freeplay. In the sims 4, they don't even need to be in their high chair, just make some food for them, leave it somewhere and they'll grab it and eat it 😂
Sims 4 actually does a lot of things super well, like the CAS, building, mood, it's all mostly preference. I play the two a lot, sims 2 sometimes because nostalgia.

I'm so happy toddlers in TS4 can climb and go down the stairs. That used to drive me crazy that toddlers were restricted to one floor without an adult's help!
Yeah, one time in TS2 I forgot my vampire toddler outside in the sun and she couldn't come inside because the porch had stairs. A few hours there was nothing but a pile of ashes left at the bottom of the stairs :,(
I remembered in Sims 3 when I had a family with 2 children and one of them died. Time passed and the ghost ask to her brother to take her into bed and read her a book
In hindsight, I’m honestly glad that the Sims 4 delayed the release of the toddlers. They are by far the best of the series. They are just so cute and a bit more realistic, in my opinion.
@@MySimulationChannels Oh trust me, it absolutely is. Of course not with the way they do it (plate is magically in their hands then magically disappears and reappears) but toddlers in general would at a certain age do something like that. For instance, my sister who's only 2 would always go to the kitchen and try to take the food on the counter, or even more she'd take a plastic plate and a plastic spoon from the kitchen drawers then go for whatever food she can get from the kitchen (she's slightly taller than your average 2 yo).
Something else worth mentioning about toddler’s nightmares in TS4 is that they won’t be able to go back to bed until they’re comforted by an older sim, and will try to wake up an older sim after they’ve had a nightmare.
Its also kind of frustrating when the parents get a bad mood or resentment for that (later on rejecting their hugs, making the relation or interaction worst 😔)

I love how toddlers in the Sims 4 sounds.. their voice sounds exactly like a real life toddler.. I like how they laugh at 3:20.. The Sims 2 and 3 toddlers are much like EA hired a woman/girl/children to do the toddler voice, but the Sims 4 is like they take any opportunities when real life toddlers are making voices and record them, or they're in luck to hire somebody that can do toddlers sound like the real one XD
They actually did hire a woman to do toddler voices, a while back I saw a video about her discussing how fun it was to get to work with the team and all that jazz
YES. I have no idea why they cut that out. Like, how hard is it to make a few cutscenes if you can make tons of idle animations that drive people crazy.
Toddler:*magically summons food from counter* Toddler:*Puts full plate of food in their pocket* Toddler: *Sits down somewhere* (on their pocket) Toddler: *Pulls full perfect looking plate out of their pocket* Everyone: *Acts like nothing happened* GUYS THESE TODDLERS ARE MAGICAL
It should be mentioned that in The Sims 2, the toddler's inability to leave the crib when unhappy depends on whether it's the plastic crib that comes with the base game or the wooden ones that come with the expansions. The toddlers can't escape from the latter, but they can escape from the plastic crib if they rattle the railing long enough.
I been playing that game for years and I didn't know that was a thing until some people started mentioning it in this video, maybe in the future I'll find a way to include that in a video.
Some additional info on Sims 2 toddlers - You can read books to toddlers but you need to have a bookcase. There's also an interaction where you can use one of those teddy bear toys to "talk through..." using the teddy bear (in real life, it's like letting babies believe a toy is talking to them with the toy supposedly moving which is done by the adult) - Children can tease toddlers if the relationship between the two is low. Animation is the child will dangle a toy in front of the toddler and tease the toddler to get the toy. I don't know if there are additional more bad interactions if the relationship drops to negative. - Toddlers can escape the cribs. Active toddlers have higher rate of escaping.
I knew about the books but it was on an expansion iirc, I didn't know about escaping cribs until someone mentioned it in the comments of this video :(, and I've never had the option to tease a toddler but I'll definitely look into it, thank you!
Sims 4 toddlers really reflect how much raising toddlers in 2010's is now. All I have to do to keep a toddler in Sims 4 happy and building skill is give it a tablet and leave it alone.
Sultan Simmer Sims 4 toddlers instantly know how to walk. That’s weird. They can also learn all their skills with zero assistance. How many toddlers IRL learn to talk from speaking to a teddy bear or playing an app?
Caden Does Gaming Yeah my nephew was running before he could talk, but he still didn’t instantly know how to walk upon becoming 2. He had to learn. The sims 2 honestly does a better job of teaching toddlers skills.
I want to say TS2 wins because of the nostalgia factor but logically, I think TS4 toddlers take the cake. They seem so much smarter than their predecessors. I haven't played TS4 toddlers but this makes me want to.
I've played with 2 toddlers and they are really cute but don't have too many because it would be a pain for the other to keep up but at least the toddlers can take care of themselves so that's great and for not keeping up with the others in the house too. All in all I love them and I'm looking forward to their future too.
Wait a second, if people like are they agreeing? (Like is I like your comment I agree that you are the only one who finds the Sim 4 toddlers super adorable) Or does it mean that we just like what you typed?
In my opinion, the sims 3 sims have these creepy eyes. Especially when your sim is facing your way. And the babies look slightly weird, but the toddlers? They're the creepiest.
i love the gameplay in the sims 3 but i’m not gonna lie i don’t like the graphics or looks of anything including sims . they kinda just look dirty and old ? somehow worse than sims 2
As much as I love TS3, I still hated the toddlers in that game. I usually just age them up immediately after learning some skills. Pretty pointless and annoying, imo. TS4 in the other hand.. Boiiii. It's like breath of fresh air for me. They're soo much adorable to take care of now, especially how almost realistic they behave. So, thumbs up for TS4 on this one.
Yesssss, babies in TS2 were the absolute best. TS3 babies are burrito babies and TS4 babies are objects. I really hope they give babies some sort of update instead of leaving them as they are now. It's cute when you can already see the infant's features even before becoming a toddler. Maybe they'll have an Generations EP that'll bring back content from TS3's Generations and more.
Hah, SAME; sometimes it got to the point I did that on purpose so that I didn’t have to deal with issues from incompetent nannies. Also, side note: did you know that there was a chance card in the game that referenced the nanny issue? You’re sim was threatened by a group of nannies not to publish an article referencing their incompetence, to which you could chose whether to heed their demands or not.
Sims 4 toddlers are actually toddlers (1.5-5) and the 2/3 ones are just giant babies (0-2) I feel like they should be given more freedom in the sims 5 like treat them older take them to preschool and make them less like babies and make the actual babies like the sims 3 toddlers like make time be able to crawl
Sims 5 needs year-based aging (a year would be 2 weeks in game time, that's when Sims would age). That would make aging more realistic, as it would be more gradual.
4:10 *throws bottle on the ground. table magically becomes dirty* sims logic 5:02 *toddler walks to the counter and the food magically appears in her hand* sims logic 13:51 *lady puts baby in the car. Baby disappears* sims logic and sims 4 wins for the most adorable and actions not to mention cute clothing
If you think about it, a toddler is dumb. They should have to learn skills before being trained. Teach towalk unlocks movement skill, teach to talk unlocks social skill.
Sims 3 has a changing table in the Sims 3 Store, you can bathe/change diapers for both baby and toddlers. They also have strollers, for when they go out.
I like the sims 4 toddler, i wish in sims 5 they can go to the kindergarten and a bit more game interaction with children will be great.and it would be great too if you can move babys and toddler's in buggys
I never really liked sims 4 because of the closed world, but when the toddlers came out boyyy I was addicted, and honestly I never really was expecting them to bring toddlers out. I'm happy they added it as an update and not as an exp or an sp
Yeah. I suppose thats what made playung TS4 in its early days so diffucult (for me, at least) the last time i played was last year on my birthday. i decided to try the game again yesterday, no expansions and with toddlers i suppose it adds a new layer of depth? the wait was worth it. im torn between Ts3 ans Ts4 they are such a good games. (also, majority sims 3 fans arent assholes)
Yes it does. The fact that they didn't include the Toddlers at launch shows that EA would rather rush a game out for the money rather than let the developers take their time with it and give us a really great game. The Toddlers in Sims 4 shows what Money Hungry Bastards EA are but sadly also what a great company they could be if they really tried.

The amount of times my hot-headed father sim broke his toddler's dollhouse in a fit of rage is ridiculous. Luckily, her handy uncle always came in to fix it right away.
Theres apparently a "bug" in The Sims 3 where parents get a wish to Chat with their toddler when he learns to talk, but the option to chat with toddlers has been removed in the latest patch.
I was stunned when I saw my toddler get his own food and sat in front of the TV than climbed the stairs 😂 I was so happy because these are less things my Sims has to do for him and he can get his needs up when needed.
I created the sim version of Castiel from Supernatural. My sim self married his sim self and they had a daughter named Aspyn. She looked like the toddler sim in the comparison video but had blonde hair, blue eyes and a white and gold dress with white shoes. While playing, I wanted to check on Aspyn and what I saw next made me burst out laughing. Castiel cooked burgers and took himself a plate. Then he put the plate down on the table to go and do something else. After that, Aspyn waddled into the dining room, stole Castiel’s burger and ate it in the living room.
Sims4 toddlers actually act like toddlers but for the other ones they almost act like a baby Idk that’s just how I see it Edit: oh sims4 toddlers are cuter 🤭
Sims 4 toddlers and children can wake up scared because they think there's a monster under their bed. You can ectually see a monster under the bed. The toddler will go to the parents and ask them to spray the monster.
That’s super annoying imo. Never known a toddler to do that in my life. Children? Yes, my 5 year old nephew is afraid of monsters, but he wasn’t when he was 2, and neither is his 2 year old brother currently.
I miss seeing them playing peek-a-boo. I wish they would have added that in the Sims 4. I think I like Sims 2 animations but I love Sims 4 toddlers the most. :D
Yeah, I suspect we'll probably get pets this year, which because it's such a big EP might mean it's the only EP we get for 2017. But, there's always the chance now that they'll do a toddler oriented game or stuff pack and add in lots of awesome things. :D I reaaaallly want generations as well. I'm crossing my fingers that it comes out next year, because I doubt it'll be this year.
Yeah I want pets too but I feel like I've been waiting forever for generations! That is true we could get a game pack or stuff pack for toddlers. I'm also hoping for a stuff pack for teens too! :D
Well, they took 2 years, if they didn't most would've rioted against Sims 4, lol. I was kinda surprised they didn't make it such a big deal, like, just one day, "hey! another update! btw, just so you know, this one's got toddlers" while everyone was losing their minds. I've heard many people say they'll buy the game just because of toddlers so yeah, they did step up their game.
One thing that I wish that they added is that can take the baby out of the crib and carry it around in ts4 and one thing ts3 is awesome in all but the sims 2 and sims 4 have two other things like climbing up the stairs and using the bathtub the sims 3 and sims 2 are more realistic like teaching them how to walk that's a thing I liked about it
If there's one thing I can say the sims 4 has over the other game (and I can't say that about much) it's the toddlers. They're so cute and the most toddler like. Hated the toddler voices in sims 2. The Sims 3 toddlers are creepy... get them away from me.
Spankler that's everything ts3 had lol. SIMS 4 IS A DOWNGRADE!!!! We even had murphy beds (Beds that fold down from the wall) from the university expansion pack!!
spoohw deppils I - I feel sorry for the Sims team. Sims 4 lacked in so many things because EA pressured them a lot and made them release it way too early. I'm glad they were able to add toddlers and they turned out lovely. :) I wonder how Sims 4 would have been without EA being.. EA lmao
sims 4 all the way, there's more to do with them they act like real toddlers and how people can say they look like adults or weird .... is just bizarre there the most realistic toddlers I think the sims 4 have created there's so much more you can do, and they have only just released them as well so in future packs we will have more interactions included. different skills and skills that your sims don't have to spend ages teaching them they can learn skills on there own night time interactions, nightmares, dancing to music the animations and everything to curling up on the chair to having tantrums and crying and being affected by the environment such as the dollhouse breaking I just don't know how people can say such negative things yeah people might prefer sims 3 or sims 2 fair enough but you can't deny that they have done an amazing job on toddlers you only have to watch this video there's no comparison sims 4 wins hands down!!!!
tehr curently worke on more content and are aculy asking the fanbase what we want with toddlers! WIth EPs its miuuch harder as tehr do knew what we want for things like seasons pets and university and generations
Jon Fagan used to hate sims 4 because CAS is about the same as sims 2 but with shoes, and im big on the CAS but watching this makes me realize god damn it i need a toddler
they absolutely can! i remember the first time i saw it happen (which was like 10 years after the game came out, so i was really surprised) i was like "whoa, wHOA WHAT?" and it kind of creeped me out lol.
Actually, sims 3 toddlers can too It rarely happens because of the fact that sims automatically want to stop the screaming, so no matter where they are in the house they'll try to go get 'let out' the toddler. I don't know what triggers it though because they can scream for hours sometimes without successfully shaking open the bars.

The best thing the Sims 4 improved for toddlers is the ability of having them randomly dance. It's so freaking cute!
I thought the same, the lady sounds like the person who did Phil and Lil on the Rugrats.
Does anyone else miss the sims 2 cutscenes?
me
YES. I have no idea why they cut that out. Like, how hard is it to make a few cutscenes if you can make tons of idle animations that drive people crazy.

3:16 Fun fact: A toddler can also improve potty training skill by watching other toddlers. It's so cool!
@@TheRedPlumbob Pretty sure the other requirement for them to escape is knowing how to walk.
And I thought I imagined it that one time my toddler escaped from it
I have noticed that my baby Sims that have Active personalities tend to escape the plastic crib all the time.
@@Iavasechui They needed to know how to walk for this.
Sims 4 toddlers are so cute compared to the other ones

The sims 3 toddlers look like old men
Exactly 😂 TS3 sims looks weird in general.
Like how they used to paint babies back then.
Peanut :D I agree
HAHAAHHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Some additional info on Sims 2 toddlers
- You can read books to toddlers but you need to have a bookcase. There's also an interaction where you can use one of those teddy bear toys to "talk through..." using the teddy bear (in real life, it's like letting babies believe a toy is talking to them with the toy supposedly moving which is done by the adult)
- Children can tease toddlers if the relationship between the two is low.
Sad
Thats deep bro
This is pretty much every family these days.
I'm 18 but when I begin to raise kids. Imma do it the old fashioned way not giving them a tablet.
@@nilsudemirtash lol have you seen my toddler cousins? That is not how it is. That dose not keep them still.
Toddlers in sims 4 strangly beat sims 3s robotic toddlers
Sultan Simmer Sims 4 toddlers instantly know how to walk. That’s weird. They can also learn all their skills with zero assistance. How many toddlers IRL learn to talk from speaking to a teddy bear or playing an app?
Caden Does Gaming Yeah my nephew was running before he could talk, but he still didn’t instantly know how to walk upon becoming 2. He had to learn.
The sims 2 honestly does a better job of teaching toddlers skills.
Nakia11798 they must have potty help until they reach potty level 2. So parents are needed
Nakia11798 it's possible
Nakia11798 most babies learn to walk before 2 years and I think sims 4 toddlers are just older

In my opinion, the sims 3 sims have these creepy eyes. Especially when your sim is facing your way. And the babies look slightly weird, but the toddlers? They're the creepiest.
i love the gameplay in the sims 3 but i’m not gonna lie i don’t like the graphics or looks of anything including sims . they kinda just look dirty and old ? somehow worse than sims 2
the sims 4 has the most realistic toddlers

Caren Boykins
Sims 4 just seems like toddlers who are a little older than the toddlers in sims 3 and 2. They are also bigger too and are not carried.
Imagine having three of them at the moment because your sim wanted to raise five kids 😔🤦🏼♀️
Too cute haven't played Sims 4 yet but in my opinion Sims 2 had the best newborn babies and Sims 4 seems to have the best toddlers. :D
Yup!

Sims 2 toddlers got some small details at times
Yea i agree
@Errin Jones a baby wouldn't have a personality
@Errin Jones that's not having a personality
@Errin Jones shut the fuck up cause it's a fact not an opinion dummy dumb bum.
Sims 5 needs year-based aging (a year would be 2 weeks in game time, that's when Sims would age).
That would make aging more realistic, as it would be more gradual.
I was really mad that the Sims 4 didn't have toddlers at first, but when they put them in the game, they did it pretty well.
It seems like the Sims 2 and 3 toddlers were more like 1- to 2-year olds while the Sims 4 toddlers are more like 4-year olds.
sims 2 and 3= 1-2 y old then sims 4= 2-4 y old

Wrong. Ea needs to make them a bit dumber so more "realistic" things happen.
If you think about it, a toddler is dumb. They should have to learn skills before being trained. Teach towalk unlocks movement skill, teach to talk unlocks social skill.

*in Mr Krabs voice* And I agree with ya!
Sims4 toddlers actually act like toddlers but for the other ones they almost act like a baby
Idk that’s just how I see it
Edit: oh sims4 toddlers are cuter 🤭
The Sims 2 toddlers with pigtails looked so much like Dobby... Can’t unseen it now ;-;
Sims 4 toddlers and children can wake up scared because they think there's a monster under their bed. You can ectually see a monster under the bed. The toddler will go to the parents and ask them to spray the monster.
My sweet piggies that happened to my kid 5 days ago ( in the Sims not irl)
That’s super annoying imo. Never known a toddler to do that in my life. Children? Yes, my 5 year old nephew is afraid of monsters, but he wasn’t when he was 2, and neither is his 2 year old brother currently.
Not toddlers, only children do that. Toddlers have "nightmares" but only the children see monyers underneath the bed.
My sweet piggies that only happens with kids
My sweet piggies
Toddlers can't do that, they will wake up because of a nightmare. Children can.
I miss seeing them playing peek-a-boo. I wish they would have added that in the Sims 4. I think I like Sims 2 animations but I love Sims 4 toddlers the most. :D

sims 4 all the way, there's more to do with them they act like real toddlers and how people can say they look like adults or weird .... is just bizarre there the most realistic toddlers I think the sims 4 have created there's so much more you can do, and they have only just released them as well so in future packs we will have more interactions included. different skills and skills that your sims don't have to spend ages teaching them they can learn skills on there own night time interactions, nightmares, dancing to music the animations and everything to curling up on the chair to having tantrums and crying and being affected by the environment such as the dollhouse breaking I just don't know how people can say such negative things yeah people might prefer sims 3 or sims 2 fair enough but you can't deny that they have done an amazing job on toddlers you only have to watch this video there's no comparison sims 4 wins hands down!!!!

Sims 2 toddlers can break out of their cribs if left alone long enough.

Actually, sims 3 toddlers can too
It rarely happens because of the fact that sims automatically want to stop the screaming, so no matter where they are in the house they'll try to go get 'let out' the toddler.
I don't know what triggers it though because they can scream for hours sometimes without successfully shaking open the bars.
