Fun fact, in the sims 3 playing chess against the grim reaper is a reference to the Swedish 1957 movie The Seventh Seal, which the entire movie revolves around a knight playing chess against the grim reaper to cheat death.
Also a bit of a fun fact, in the sims 2 console edition you can not only play chess with the grim reaper but also challenge him to a fiddle competition. If you win your sim is brought back to life. Which is a reference to the song “the devil went down to Georgia” (no golden fiddle though unfortunately)

S3 has my favorite reaper: dramatic entrance, epic music, cool animations, sociable (interactable), good with animals + you can add him to household and the game doesn't break. But it also has the lamest design out of the four, I mean no ripped fabric, no skeleton ribs showing through, no floating skulls, just a plain cloak that makes the reaper looks like a black rectangle. By comparison, S4 reaper looks just like a regular sim with bugged clothes.
In the consoles versions of the Sims 2, your sim has to play a fiddle against Grim. It’s a nod to the Devil went Down to Georgia. Probably my favorite way to be resurrected.

Not the sims 3 grim reaper music jumpscare for me. 😆 I remember my elder sim passed which I was waiting for her to since I wanted to expand the family but them she autonomously wiped out the death flower and was revived by grim. I was shocked, annoyed but also like wowed. She lived a good second life at least. 😆
Honestly I don't think I can choose a winner 😂 they all have their special moments with the Reaper. I do have a vivid memory in the Sims 4 when someone died at a Longue, the Reaper just started to sing karote after he did his deed 😂 😂 I was laughing quite hard at that. Amazing video as always 👍

TS2:OFB also had "Rally Forth," whereby if sims needs get to low, they can ultimately die. Although they die from hunger, Grim does show up on the business lot. Also, Grim shows up when sims are "scared to death," by a ghost or vampire's coffin. You can also have a baby with the Grim Reaper with cheats and/or mods in TS2. You can add him to the household with cheats, but it will likely corrupt your game. Oh, and one other aspect of TS2, if a sim is the last to die on the lot (even if vistors are present), Grimm will interact with objects on the lot. Aside from the Grimm Reaper, if a visitor goes into aspiration failure (due to a death fear), and a therapist visits said sim, if you save and quit while the invisible therapist is still present, the therapist now becones the occupant of the home, but continues to be invisible, and will likely crash your game if you try to play the household. I have to admit, I love the horror elements of TS1's Grimm Reaper, the aesthetics and personality in TS2, The appreciation of the main pets in TS3, and the lack of personality of Grim in TS4.
I love the detail in the Sims 2 of the character flinching when the reaper tosses the scythe away before the ball game. Game's just jam packed with tiny details that are totally relatable.
Winner? Sims Medieval. Dramatic red robes, black wings, long white hair and fur collar, skull and hourglass at his waist, Warcraft-looking jagged scythe. You can't interact with him, probably because it's the Middle Ages and he's already got reapings booked back to back so no time to dawdle. Best Reaper, hands down. Sims 4 is kinda lame, especially considering some of the awesome concept art that lost to the final, cutesy-fied and inoffensive version. And while the real reason he does not react to the earlier DLC animals is probably just EA being lazy, I like to think that him reacting to the farm animals is because he was a country boy and a farm boy in life, and thus has a special fondness for them.

the sims 4 no special animations for a lot of things the other games had? just sad. it really is frustrating like yes he has more personality but couldn’t you add more than just that- or more special things for packs or what simmers want for him? ;(
I love stuff like the hula zombies, and the sim shaking hands with Grimm. He takes life but he also has a way of celebrating it. I also like stuff like his love for animals and freezer bunny charm. He honestly seems like a pretty sweet guy once you get to know him.
The only thing I can praise Sims 4 for is that he actually swings his scythe like he should, none of the others three games do kudos there, Sims 3 is my favourite overall mostly because of the super imposing music, sims 1 is scary sure and sims 2 looks like an office worker to me and doesn’t even keep his scythe but sims 3 Grim reaper shows up and he know he means business! Still wish he swung his scythe like in sims 4, like he actually REAPING the soul!
The Grim Reaper actually leaves different messages in Sims 2 depending on how your last Sim died/left and the game guesses whether you were being intentional or not. There were 3 messages I can remember, I think: one that you showed, where Reaper reprimands you for playing the game as though it was a death simulator and you would be reigning champion; and one which talks about Grim's personality, specifically that he likes horses and long walks on the beach. I get the latter when they all die of natural old age.
One détail is missing about the one of the Sims 4. You can escape the death if have a bar at home and let a spécial drink. He'll go drink it and won't reap the dying Sim
It pretty much just showed a message and then a tombstone/urn (I don't remember which one) would appear where the sim died. Since I didn't have that specific DLC I had no idea that Sims 1 had a Grimm Reaper up until now actually xD
I love how many of us were so tickled by the Ding Dong Ditch. Thank you for adding it, I hadn't ever seen it before! Also laughed about visiting the manor and that it's just neighborly to ressurect
I remember being absolutely terrified of the grim reaper as a kid. Of course, when the sims 4 came out I was able to take him apart in cas using cheats and he was just some guy in a grim reaper outfit 😭
I really like how Grim Reaper looks in Sims 4. The outfit, spiced up with modern tablet, is just so great. But when it comes to an actual gameplay, Sims 2 and 3 are better. And I give my win in that category to Sims 3, simply because of how he behaves to pets. That's just so heartwarming. So, yeah, for me, Sims 4 is a winner in appearance and outfits and Sims 3 is a winner in gameplay and behaviour.
The Sims 1 Grim Reaper kinda sounds like he’s either throwing up or choking. Also that starvation death was the quietest one I’ve ever witnessed. I also love how he’s casually strolling into the house. He’s like “What’s up peeps?” 😎 The Sims 2 Grim Reaper pulling the phone away from his ear like he’s being yelled at and going all “Whatever man” afterwards is just comedy gold. 😛 The Sims 3 Grim Reaper grooming himself be like “Gotta look perfect for the job.” 😎 The Sims 3 sim: *crying* Grim Reaper: What an interesting show. The Sims 4 Grim Reaper coming be like “Yup. Just another day on the job.” His freezer bunny looks so lit by the way. 😎 Honestly though, he’s an icon regardless of what game he’s in. I like him in all of them for the reasons above and more.

With Everything, I feel like I enjoy creepy Grim Reaper from Sims 1 the most, mostly just for the skull alone! With Sims 2 being second best. Sims 3 is a very enjoyable one though! Sims 4 grim is just there
I absolutely loved the high aspiration elder death in 2. It was kind of happy and not just depressing. It really made it seem like an endcap on a life well-lived. They need to bring something like that back for 4 and/or 5. I do like how being confident makes you a little more likely to convince the reaper in 4. It's a shame they didn't put the dog, cat and horse death details in 4 (it just shows how inferior those packs were compared to past games as well as Cottage Living which is the main one with any thought put into the deaths- I don't care so much about the foxes, they're wild animals). I like the dog and cat deaths the most in 3, the animals look a little happier as they float to the portal
In the retail version of Sims 3, you could entice the Grim Reaper to move in without Mods. Also, in Sims 2, the reaper has a chance of staying on the lot if there are no living sims left on the lot. He may watch TV, use the computer or go to the bathroom.
Children cannot die of hunger in the sims 2, 3, and 4. They are taken away by the social worker in the sims 2 and 3 and are taken away by unseen social services to safety in the sims 4.

One of my favorite things is that, canonically Grim’s favorite band is Styx
The Grim Reaper actually leaves different messages in Sims 2 depending on how your last Sim died/left and the game guesses whether you were being intentional or not. There were 3 messages I can remember, I think: one that you showed, where Reaper reprimands you for playing the game as though it was a death simulator and you would be reigning champion; and one which talks about Grim's personality, specifically that he likes horses and long walks on the beach. I get the latter when they all die of natural old age.
Hehe, I just realized I never let the last of my sims die of old age. There's always a younger Sim to continue their legacy.
That reaper from 1 and 2 was the bane of my existence as a kid. Fucking terrifying 😭
5:02 I love how in the sims 4 the grim reaper has a blushing skeleton bunny plushie.
8:30
Horse: \kinda died\
Reaper: I reaped your spirit, you're died now
Horse: hah nope
Reaper: oh c'mon!
lol :D
I rlly love how the grim reaper treat the pets in sims 3, im sad that the sims 4 grim reaper doesnt do that anymore
Sims 3 is amazing!
Although I think sims 1 is the scariest with those sounds.
One détail is missing about the one of the Sims 4.
You can escape the death if have a bar at home and let a spécial drink. He'll go drink it and won't reap the dying Sim
I did not know about the chicken fight, that's hilarious 😂 Guess there are some good things in Sims 4!
0:45 BONE DADDY
The Sims 2 Grim Reaper still scares me
Sims's 3 reaper is so funny, Kind and friendly!!
I wanna be her friend and everything!
I had no idea that Grim Reaper was an DLC NPC. That's so intereting... I wonder how death was without Living Large DLC...
Sims 3 definitely wins this one
I really like how Grim Reaper looks in Sims 4. The outfit, spiced up with modern tablet, is just so great. But when it comes to an actual gameplay, Sims 2 and 3 are better. And I give my win in that category to Sims 3, simply because of how he behaves to pets. That's just so heartwarming. So, yeah, for me, Sims 4 is a winner in appearance and outfits and Sims 3 is a winner in gameplay and behaviour.
I like how in every sim game you have your same house and characters from the first
With the new Life and Death pack for the sims 4 coming out at the end of October I bet this will get updated.
I'm thinking ghosts first cause it's been forever since I made that video, but it depends on what the pack brings.
@@TheRedPlumbob Oh yeah I forgot ghosts is going to be updated too!
The Sims 1 Grim Reaper kinda sounds like he’s either throwing up or choking.
Also that starvation death was the quietest one I’ve ever witnessed.
I also love how he’s casually strolling into the house. He’s like “What’s up peeps?” 😎
The Sims 2 Grim Reaper pulling the phone away from his ear like he’s being yelled at and going all “Whatever man” afterwards is just comedy gold. 😛
The Sims 3 Grim Reaper grooming himself be like “Gotta look perfect for the job.” 😎
The Sims 3 sim: *crying*
Grim Reaper: What an interesting show.
The Sims 4 Grim Reaper coming be like “Yup. Just another day on the job.”
His freezer bunny looks so lit by the way. 😎
Honestly though, he’s an icon regardless of what game he’s in. I like him in all of them for the reasons above and more.
Hey are you from Turkish? because your name is Nilsu
@@EylulOnurlubas Yes. 😁
It astounds me how the Sims 4 makes almost everything corny lmao (though the farm animals had me tearing up because it was sweet/sad). Sims 2 and 3 are my favorites overall. Anywho, nice job on the video :]
The dog and cat's passing away in sims 2 always made me cry because it was just so cute and I got overly attached lmao
With Everything, I feel like I enjoy creepy Grim Reaper from Sims 1 the most, mostly just for the skull alone! With Sims 2 being second best. Sims 3 is a very enjoyable one though! Sims 4 grim is just there
Watching this and realising I didn't play sims 3 for long enough for any1 to die. The lagging was too much it almost killed ME!
Imagine Reaper takes your beloved husband … then USES YOUR COMPUTER AFTER DENYING YOUR REQUEST TO KEEP HUSBAND LIVING
He may watch TV, use the computer or go to the bathroom.
grim reaper sims 4: ignores all normal house pets
also grim reaper: loves farm animals.
Children cannot die of hunger in the sims 2, 3, and 4. They are taken away by the social worker in the sims 2 and 3 and are taken away by unseen social services to safety in the sims 4.
I've been playing the Sims since it started and TS3 is my fave! BUT I HAVE NEVER NOTICED THAT HE POURS ONE OUT FOR HIS HOMIE!!!! 😅😂 Amazing.
IS THAT THE GRIM REAPER!?
Playing the guitar against the grim reaper is so much like the song “The Devil Went Down To Georgia.”
at 1:01 grim is like death by hunger you died by that instead of old age
Never thought about it like that!
I vividly recall the Sims 3 reaper because he took a dump in my bathroom, didn't flush, then left.
I wasn't expecting the grim opening the door like that
8:27 GRIM: Well, we won't be seeing him again. THE HORSE: HeLlO tHeRe!
ME: LAUGHS UNCONTROLLABLY
Like the use of a 3D POV mod in Sims 1
