Lovely video Duncan and you are so right, there’s not a better way to fish, than watching your float go under. on running water. Tight lines and look forward to your next video
Sadly haven’t fished a river for years many happy sessions on Desborough Cut and 1/2 mile tree at Kingston as well as tidal Teddington great video Duncan .
OH mate cant belive this, I used to fish there back in the 70s and 80s, theweather has changed, I think with the rain coming now I maybe a little late, but its good to see you fishing here, Im going on the Thames next Monday, along that stretch, not sure of a feeder or float yet, have to keep an eye on the river, great video.
Good video Duncan … I had a couple of sessions after the roach on the FAS section … is about 10 ft deep 2 rods out …started on a light stick float but wasn’t presented right. Stepped up to a 3G dave Harrell big stick and oli and caught well like that … most on corn but some on tares … even had a couple on the elderberries growing there … like you, it’s a style of fishing that I’ve not done and for that reason found it really enjoyable
Love this video, I fish the thames a lot from Kingston down to teddington and have some amazing bags of silvers big roach once you get them going Dace never fail but also been picking up quite a few Chubb nothing big but pound and half on light tackle is always nice.keep up the great work Duncan
The Thames is the best river I have fished had a boat on there for 15yrs brilliant roach fishing of course you can stop in places people can’t get to when mooring which makes it even Better really miss it now had to pack up boating . Regards Robbo from merseyside 23:43

I was the only person fishing my local navigation river on the pole,10 conuests stopped for a chat right in front of me,it was done deliberately ! Lets just say they will never do it again to me,they will never forget me!
The rowers do my nut in when fishing the cut',i find delaying the strike when it goes under gets me more hooked fish when fishing the tares on the hook up there.
Canoeists & paddle borders are the electric scooters of waterways, who weave around our pavments & roads. People want freedom, but none of the responsibility. So I stop trying to police the world, put up, and shut up. Go to a small river in the middle of nowhere. Treat it with the reverence of a church. Fish and dream of big chub.Once again, the world is all good.
While I agree they are a pain they are going backwards so they can’t see people fishing. And they probably come in close for safety as they can’t see what’s approaching them. I’ve encountered them loads over the years on the Trent. They stop in front of me at times for a breather, totally unaware that I’m there
Fair comment, but canoeists / paddle borders paddle forward. Are we saying rowing backwards isn't safe. I'll leave that to the reader. Providing its legal every one is entitled to access to the water. It's a question of etiquette sadly missing in many aspects of modern life.
@@andrewwing5086I’ve personally not had a problem with Canoeists or paddle boarders. And in regards to the safety of rowing, I wouldn’t fancy doing it lol. I think also the problem is you can go for miles and miles where nobody is fishing or ever fishes. I do agree that etiquette is missing in our society. Respect and understanding would go a long way
You are living my dream life mate.
Fishing places like that, on a daily basis, is something to be thankful for.
It's free there.
Oh how I wish I fished every day, sadly not....and anyone can fish this stretch as long as they have an EA Licence and do it in season.
Miss fishing the thames had some great days on there at Richmond on hemp and tares 40lb plus bags great vid brings back memories
Glad you enjoyed
Once again great video with loads of tips , not some corporate video all about product. Thanks Duncan your a star.

Had a cracking day on the Thames at the poplars in Oxford on the sweetcorn Proper sized roach !!
Nice one Jeff! Can't beat a good bag of roach on the float!
Looks like this venue would best suit a 5mtr whip Duncan, excellent location..👍
Absolutely

Lovely vid Duncan ,is that a Farnham water , I’m on my second season as a member but not fished the Farnham stretch of Thames as yet , thanks 👍🏻
Hi Nobby, this was a free stretch of the Thames at Walton
Удачный рыбалки 🔥👍👍🦈🎣
Thank you
Nice one Duncan, Are you actually casting or fishing off the rod top, like you would on a pole? Very well done mate.
Casting as the swim was too shallow of the rod tip then slopped away into deeper water

Is browning closing up if so sad times good tackle
Its now gone for good, great tackle, what a shame...

Thanks for the tip Mike, will give it a try...
I have had some good dsys at walton for roach on the whip i catch on wheat and hrmp
Will give it a go...
What stretch is this out of interest......is it any where near appleford?
Hi Tony,
It was at Walton on Thames
@@duncancharmanangling1136 thanks.
Question guys Is autumn still good on float Thames 🎣
Autumn and winter are the best times.
Autumn and winter are far better than the summer
Sad to hear Browning is on the way out.
Absolutely...
Add iron tablets to tares whilst soaking if you get it right they will turn black
Thanks for the tip John...
No matter where in the country you fish, the ignorance and selfishness of boaters is unbelievable. There’re the cyclists of the rivers.
One boatist, can upset hundreds of anglers, without even trying.
What purpose do they serve?
