Hi guys
Today I'm reviewing the Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue Moisturizing makeup for those of us with forty plus skin. Whilst this is not a comparison video, I am reviewing it in the context of the Estee Lauder Double Wear, as I know a lot of people absolutely love that foundation. I explain the main differences between Estee Lauder Double Wear vs Futurist Hydra Rescue and why you may want to choose one over the other, depending on your skin type. Hi, loving your review. At the end you mention trying the L'oreal cherie glo to see if you would like the glo. Where did you buy yours and how much do you mix into your double wear please
@@estieclidaras6877 HI Estie. Thank you so much for watching x. The loreal glow cherie was a limited edition sadly. I haven't seen it for some time now. I will let you know if I find something similar in the same price range.

If you like a long wearing foundation, have you tried the Loreal liquid 24 hour Fresh wear?
It has some alcohol in it so not ideal for me but I use it for a mixer as well to experiment, but if I had oily skin, I think I would like it better, wear it fearlessly, & it would LOOK BETTER on me, I mean. I'll do a search of your videos to see if you reviewed it☺

This is really helpful. I have worn double wear for many years now but wanted a more dewy look so recently have been using the new double wear flawless hydrating primer SPF45 which really work well together and just makes it a bit less dry and matt. It makes my skin look more like skin.

I always use a foundation that has an SPF. People usually use too little sun screen, so women having it in their foundation, as well as putting on a separate sunscreen, is a must! Everything about sunscreens can be found via Dr. Dray, a Board Certified Dermatologist. Her RUclips Channel is called Dr. Dray.
I realize this video is a year old but only wanted to say that I completely agree with you about the glow.. It's just way too much for me, although for some reason, I still like the formula , but have taken to using it as a "mixer" with other products, and that has made for some interesting results. Maybe I can learn the art of setting powder and tame the glow. I rarely use this foundation, but I'm not giving up on it! Nice review, thank you🤹♀️
Yes, the glow is just a tad too much for me. I prefer to mix things in to a foundation if I need a glow. I've used it again recently and it's kind of growing on me. I find that the sunscreen gives it a very ashy colour though. But- it's one of those foundations that seems to look better on me as the day goes on. Strange I know!

I love the double wear because my skin is mostly on the oily side. I also like the futuristic because it looks so flawless on the skin. The DW is better for summer months. I just wish that it had more sunscreen.

I just purchased Futurist Hydra Rescue Foundation - so far I liked.
It is really good and has excellent staying power. That was the biggest surprise for me!

Thanks for this. I’m considering alternatives having smashed a 3/4 full bottle of Doublewear the other day. Why oh why is it in glass? I have drier skin but am also nervous of looking like a shiny beacon. On you I thought it looked very nice though. Am going to go into Sephora to have a look.
I'm so sorry to hear about your foundation mishap. That is honestly one of the biggest pitfalls of anything in glass! Try and get a sample of this at Sephora and see if you like it. Let me know how it goes xx

I consistently find that people with oily skin will theorize, in a review, that they think that a certain foundation that is high-shine or has a lot of Sheen or glow to it would be good for someone with dry skin.
In reality those of us who have dry skin don't want a lot of glow, rather, we want hydration but we don't want something that looks like it is shining so bright, since dry skin had its own problems when certain areas are highlighted. You can have hydration without a shine and the secret is in having more water or things like glycerin or whatever but not the sunscreen, titanium dioxide, which is what causes this bright shine. No, just because it glows, doesn't mean it's hydrating., although this particular foundation might have both shiny glow, and hydration, but from my experience the shine is greater than the hydrating factor, of the Futurist.. I think it's worth having in my own personal collection, but I won't repurchase it.
I prefer a natural matte finish, but can't help myself from trying out some of these other things on occasion😲😃
I so agree with you here. Combo skin is also misunderstood because we often deal with dehydration as well, which no amount of glow will put back. That's why I'm such a fan of the lóreal Infallible foundation. It has just the right amount of dewiness for my skin. It nevers looks shiny, my own oils peak through and add to the glow. And I can blot it down very easily throughout the day. With the Futurist foundation, the hydration is questionable I agree. I also prefer a natural matte finish like you!
Hi Sue, EL is a great brand and they do make great products. I like plastic tubes too and it does look glowy which wouldn't be the best for me b/c I have oily skin but it looks nice on you. That is great it looks better as the day goes on. The MAC shadow combo is pretty. Very pretty final look and FW. Have a great day.

I.lile hydra better .lovr boyh but hydra less drying
I looks good when it's first on, but after about 10 minutes it starts to pool in my pours, and it looks like I have tiny dots on my face. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or it doesn't like my skin. I do like it I wish it worked better for me.
Hi Are you referring to the Hydra Rescue? I do prefer the original ELDW myself. It's fool proof for me.

I could not get the futurist to look dewy on me or luminous. I tried but it just doesn't. I am baffled.
That is strange. If you have dry skin that may explain it? I still find it a little too dewy on my combo skin.
I use mine with a damp beauty blender and it gives a dewy finish😊
