I was so curious about the new Estee Lauder Double Wear Sheer Foundation and wanted to do a comparison with the original Double Wear and the Futurist Hydra Wear. I love a good experiment! Do you have any of these foundations?

Hi! Loved your video! I am 67 years old and have been wearing the Original Double Wear foundation since it came out 28 years ago. I have tried others but keep going back to my old favourite. I was a Registered Nurse for 42 years and needed full long coverage. I love the wide range of shades and I do wear different shades in the summer compared to the winter months. Cool Pebble in the summer and Cool Dusk in the winter . Thanks again for your tutorials!
Thanks for this, I ended up buying the sheer one in Tawny yesterday thanks to your video. I really love the MAC face and body but it always leaves me looking greasy, not feeling greasy but looking it. So I wanted basically that but with a slight matte finish which is what this will be fingers crossed. Anyway, thank you for your help 😊
I just subscribed today. I have finally gotten eldw at age 52 and also got futurist. Futurist broke me out and I am determined to learn how to make my dw my hg foundation. I have the perfect shade match . I am still in that learning curve for doing application. I am using your video as my go to. I am not giving up yet lol
I do agree with you ,I am 78 ,every thing settles in. My creases by my mmouth no other wrinkles thanks good info.

I agree about the glow. I don't like looking shiny except where I choose to put it (if at all).
I love the ELDW. It's the only thing that lasts through a nursing shift. I get oily and nothing else stays on like it does. I don't even use a primer with it just my Paula's Choice sunscreen.
I mix the last 2 and it’s perfect.
I use the Hydrating Fururist in the winter, ORIG in the summer. I bought the sheer, but gave it to a friend after 1 wk as it's the only one I did not like.
I love the Futurist Hydra Rescue.I have combination skin.

Dear Katherine! Your video popped up and it turned out to be exactly the one I needed in order to make a decision. Such a great, detailed review of all the 3 foundations I was torn between.. Thanks a lot for your work and time on this one. First I leaned towards the Futurist Hydra one, but seeing it on you, it was even to glowy and dewy for my taste. And you are so right:it's better to add the glow yourself and do it depending on the occasion etc... And I am so happy, that you mentioned to use only the tiniest amount of the Double Wear... 4-5 years ago I was soo curious to see what all the fuss was about and tried it. I used way to much and was soo disappointed... Turned out very dry and I felt like I had a mask on.. It was way before THESE masks.. ((-:! I couldn't await to wash it off at home.. Futurist!! LOVE it!!
Double Wear was my first foundation love many, many years ago. After many years of using it, it made my skin dry and the foundation didn’t sit as pretty on my skin as before. I don’t know if it was reformulated or if my skin just changed with aging. I had a hard time finding a fitting foundation after that until I happened to try the Futurist Hydra Rescue. With the Futurist I am finally back to the beautiful results I used to have with Double Wear. My skin is very dry these days, but it tackles that beautifully. Tried the Double Wear Sheer, it is OK but the Futurist is better🤗.

Love the video! I have used Estee Lauder Double Wear since it launched in 1997. As I got into my late 40's I switched it up to the Double Wear Light Soft Matte.

@@KZBeautyCoach I recently received a small bottle of the EL ANR serum, not to use at night, but to put a drop in the EL stay - in -place Double Wear foundation instead. Have not been able to wear the makeup "straight" out of bottle, so hoping to thin or sheer it out as you & some others apparently do. If this works, it could be a great help!

The futurist might be perfect with double wear mixed I’m thinking for drier skin that needs coverage like me

I would like for you to try out thr rescue hydration again 2 YEARS LATER I ASK, But after watching this video today, I am going to try the Original Double Wear againthe way you did layerig it lightly, it looks great on you and I was applying it to heavy. The different ways to try wearing the Rescue. I have it, I feel i love it, but I feel like I am missing a step or something to enjoy it more. .I wonder if I try putting it on the way you did the original Double Wear if that would be thr trick. Im glad I found you, i was looking to find ideax to apply the Estees Rescue and i learned a lot from you , you might not own the Rescue any longer so I understand if you cant help, but thanks, i have used estee Lauder skin care 35 years, and foundations i go back and forth, makeop, not so much, it lacks the staying power but ii have some.

The original is my fave! I'm 42, have oily skin and love the original. I use a primer and setting powder. I apply with a brush. It's a best seller for a reason. I've used this since it launched back in 97. Back then it was considered "old lady" makeup. I've tried about every single makeup brand over the years and nothing compares to this one.

Original is great in twenties
You always look lovely, I have very greasy skin & stay away from glowy foundation. I prefer to have a blank canvas & add whatever is needed not to look like a corpse! However, the menopause is killing me at the moment & need a defribilator not double wear😱
Oh Gina you made me giggle!!! Roberta left a comment about adding a drop of serum to the Double Wear which might be helpful too. Hydration and the coverage with a softer matte finish.
@@KZBeautyCoach absolutely, I have some glow drops to add to the double wear, through the summer months I have been using the L'Oréal powder foundation because my skin is greasy beyond belief x.

Hope you will also do the Futurist And the recently discontinued light Hydra Matte, that went on sale and sold probably millions of bottles all over the US Canada and probably elsewhere.

Katherine, are you still wearing the Sheer foundation? I love the stuff but having a difficult time getting it to stay on for more than 3 hours. Perhaps it is better with NO primer ? Or powder , which I still haven't tried. I am considering adding a wee bit of the original DW or Futurist into it, to help.
You are right that it is not long wearing! I add a pore filling primer to help and powder.

I am having the worst time on the Sephora so-called sale I put things into my car I never see a sale price things which are advertised by RUclipsrs do not show up as costing less to me and the exact same items I put them into my card nothing happens I feel like it's a big sham and it's always been this way I have never realized any savings on these so-called sale days. What powder do you wear with the EL Double wear?
I tend to use a lot of different powders but I like a compact instead of loose powder. Lately I have been using the NYX Cant' Stop Wont Stop powder and really like it. I think in this video I used the Covergirl Age Perfect powder which is also really good.
First one I don't like. No coverage, looks sweaty and still it's visible in the fine lines.
Any tips on choosing the right brush for applying the foundation?
Right now I am loving the Anisa Beauty Pinnacle Foundation Brush! It is just the right density for me.

the sheer is exactly that sheer with very minimal covered. I personally don't like it. its like a tinted moisturizer.
I have the EL Futurist and it is pretty runny. It doesn't have good coverage at all for me, and I prefer drug store foundation over this. Double Wear is too much like chalk on my skin. If I get higher end foundation, I prefer Clinique.
Do you have oily skin because your looking real oily

I would have liked it if you had either used powder on screen or else, especially, told us which powder you use, OTOH, Maybe you do not powder.?? I do not......😊
The powder thing goes for ALL foundations you use in the video... it does make a difference as to how a foundation wears, how it is perceived by you, and your audience, (your viewers).

What bothers me is that your skin is peeling, you did not exfoliate skin, all those dry patches around nose and mouth make the foundation look really bad
The futurist looks too greasy on combination skin...I don't like it at all....not glowy..greasy
Your skin looks oily before applying the foundation. And after. It might be the moisturizer...
Love the original...just purchased the Hydra, as they were out of my color in the O.G. one. I like them both, though because of my hyper pigmentation, orig covers slightly better. For reference, im 61, self tanned, in Wheat & Tawny. Thank you for the video w/comparison!😊😊😊
