I like this version of magneto. He's an actual hero now, and it's a pretty good idea.
I mean he was a mutant hero/savior. Just now he considers Charles views.
He was this good in the comics too for a period. It didn't last

Chances are it’s a double-cross coming - but he’s a hero to himself and other Mutant supremacists and separatists. He acts like it. Being confronted by that level of self-assurance in a villain is challenging, and it works.

There's always been allusions to Magneto and Malcolm X. This is like Malcolm X after returning from the holy land and finding Islam
I grew up in the 90s and to hear this from Magneto of all people is both shocking and brilliant. I love how they made his charater have compassion, even for an enemy

He never lacked compassion. If anything, his compassion urged him on his quest for peace, safety and eventual rule. Magneto's "problem" was that he was violent against humanity, unlike Charles who thought you could do things peacefully, when that has never been demonstrated through history.
@@NoirRaven He HAD to be hostile and violent to humanity. That was the whole idea. He provided the 'evil' mutant in opposition to Charles and his X-Men. Can't teach bigored human with just a carrot - you need the stick too.
Charles and him always loved each other as brothers but just didn’t agree on the large scale things. He always had respect for charles

@@Epilogueandprologueloverno. Dracula is a sympathetic character, and his only true fault was how far he let his grief carry him. I he had stopped at the members of the church in that city, there would be absolutely nothing he did wrong

I loved this scene so much. it's one of the best things to make u see how much Magneto has changed his point of view. He honors Charles so much here.
The thing is he hasn't changed his view, in fact seeing what happened to storm he really really wanted to end them. But his respect and love he had for Xavier he's challenging himself to try to see what he sees and hold up his dream because he's been challenged to do so by him. And he's willing to go 10 toes of testing that dream which is even crazier than just changing your view. It's doing the opposite of what you believe in to see the view of someone you once loved and admired to be a better person.
What are they showing this on though?
“I am trying to be better, do not make me let you down” might just be the hardest line ever spoken in cartoon history

Its sad that this speech really fits with how the world seems to be going right now. If a politician stood up and said this kind of speech in front of congress, i would vote for them in a second. All truth not hiding behind nice words to make people feel better.

I cannot express as a long time fan of all things Xmen. How wonderful it feels to finally get a Magneto who lets himself be redeemed. He's not perfect but he's trying. So fucking cool. He's been redeemed in the comics for so long, it's cool to see other media finally reflect that change.

Can you find redemption. Left, right, it doesn't matter.All people want is to live in peace. But if you will deny us that. If you deny us a simple place upon the earth that we were all born from. If you decide to persecute us until we are completely exterminated. Do not be surprised when the world considers you to be the villain of the story
In my opinion I never saw magneto as a villain but a very broken man that was cursed with magnetic powers and had to endure the horrors of the holocaust 😢
