I was at that game. The loudest memorial stadium has ever been. When Hudson dropped muffed that punt a bit of me died inside. We had em, and we let em off the hook
I think these are the types of games that prove to everybody ure ligit. It shows even on your worst day you can fight the adversity of being down, and still come back against a good team and win
Illinois was really good that year, they beat Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Penn State while almost beating Missouri. But the Wolverines toppled the Illini in impressive fashion. It was almost like the mirror of 2008's game where Michigan grabbed a 14-3 lead before losing.
Michigan ranked 25th, Illinois unranked.. funny how Michigan ended up making (and winning ) The Capital One Bowl, while Illinois ended up making the Rose Bowl.
@BlitzinLB27 yeah i think it has to do with the fact that ohio state overlooked illiniois before beating michigan that year. Michigan was clearly the better team that year especially when looking at how michigan won this game by two possessions at illinois with mike hart out of the game and henne and manningham comming in and out constantly.
@vandals989 That's interesting, up until a few years ago, I thought Mussberger went to Michigan. I think he is close to impartial, but I think he enjoys Big 10 games. I believe he went to NW.
Well that problem is now fixed with Greg Robinson, he emphasizes on open field tackling and all the fundementals of defense, he's a great d-coordinator. Unlike shafer as you said. Go Blue!
i think he was complaining about the whistle...it sounded like to me that a ref blew a whistle anticapating that the fair catch would be made....but it could have been the halo too
The running game in this game was great. We still have Carlos Brown and Brandon Minor. Hopefully one of them will start for the rest of the season, not Mcguffie. Mcguffie is good, but he's only a freshman. And Carlos Brown is a good back to me.
after yesterday's lost to ND, i think mcguffie will be the future of michigan's offense, and hell yeah they would've won if they didn't had 7 fumbles and 2 interceptions.

RIP Ryan Mallet
Brent Musberger is a good announcer and keeps it entertaining, "the juice" and "BIG TEX". Haha.
Henne was such a gamer, injured bu when play needed to be made he steps back in and makes them, you gotta love havin a quarterback like that.
Oh My Goodness...
Chills... Cannot wait for the season to start.
Is there a full game version of this? Great work and always, Go Blue〽️
didn't get to see this one since LSU and Auburn were on but thanks for posting it.
I remember watching this at work. My coworkers thought I was nuts. :D
what a game GO BLUE!!!
I love how Musenberger knows a players nickname, and then he says it every chance he gets! "Big Tex!" HAHAHAHA that cracks me up!
Yup...Brent Musberger intro was amazing for this game..."ILLINOIS WELCOMING COMMITTEE"
Foreshadowing of Michigan @ Iowa? Who knows... I can't wait.

this was one loud stadium for 55,000 fans.

@UMAnnArbor2 agreed. it was nuts

8:37 oh god, sheridan...
Michigan should have played in the rose bowl that year, not illinois.
We were so banged up in 07.. I think the Committee thought about that..??

@InRichRodWeTrust This game and the Florida game.
you can tell in this video that scot schafer did not know how to teach a defense, because all these same players were great in '07
8:37 Sheridian
lol musberger made up that nickname, no one called mallett that before musberger
McGuffie still isn't prepared yet, he fumbled once in his first game but to me right now michigan running game looks really bad
after yesterday's lost to ND, i think mcguffie will be the future of michigan's offense, and hell yeah they would've won if they didn't had 7 fumbles and 2 interceptions.
Damn I wish Mallet would stayed
@VCavman24 well, considering youre responding to a comment a made over a year and a half ago, of course youre not going o agree now. Lol.
Go Blue!
haha "trickeration"
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha!
@goblue918 I do not agree. Greg Robinson is terrible, and have the worst pass defesne in FBS is nothing to be proud of. He is ruining the team.
