Love your style and your expose of the two cameras and insights. Last night I started watching Live and Let Die 007 1973 (remastered) and I'm stupefied with how far the quality has come even for basic vlogging shot on super inexpensive non-video cameras - excluding rolling shutter. Beyond Cam A vs B you create such a warm and enjoyable viewing and auditory experience, thank you.

Was this whole video shot with your BMPCC4K with your Sankor C anamorphic setup and if so, how do you get that sweet 2.39 aspect ratio? Did you crop in to 1.33x because 2x stretch on a BMPCC4K in my experience is really wide and narrow which is why I ultimately sold my Kowa 16H. Thanks in advance for your answer.
Anyone happen to use a Tamron 24-70 and/or 70-200 g2 via a speedbooster on either? Looking at potentially grabbing the pocket and really don't want to sell my Tamrons (EF)

Faster read out times is a selling point of the G2 but in that test the pocket looks just as good if not better.
yea you can def tell the extra resolution is there but its up to you to decide if its worth $5k more you know
1:03 Moire at the window is so noticable on p4k. Can it be fixed in davinci?

As far as I know, you can't remove moire like that
That's the biggest problem I noticed about it when I used it. I don't think that's a thing you can fix in post unfortunately. It's noticeable in people's hair, too

I think its there because he might have the sharpening setting to high or something like that.
Have been using mine shooting alot of places that is supposed to have alot of moire and never had an issue at all.

1:41 footage indoor between P4K et G2 have different white balance. Maybe same value set on camera, but we can definitely see that it different.
yea its really weird how different they are indoors. download the files and play with them. atleast with extended rec709 that is

Hey did you know that there is also a Speedbooster for the ursa? It's called Magicbooster and is made by Lucadapters. I'm looking to buy one at the moment.
Doesn’t work with the newer ones. ND filter gets in the way. 😢
Darwin Schulze There is a newer one made specifically for the 4.6k and G2 called the Magicbooster Pro if I remember correctly.
@@tyronetolentino Yes, it is the Magicbooster Pro and it works like a charm! Luc has sent us the booster pre-mounted in an EF Mount, so switching was pretty easy. I did, however, have to play around with the (included) Shim kit to get the flange back right.
I am selling mine. Totally new, never used, never installed. Brand new. Because I sell my UMP.

Hey, thank you for the comparison! In terms of recording media, I think you should also point out that there is an SSD Recorder option from BlackMagic Design for the G2 which lets you record directly onto SSDs. I believe it does not work with all frame rates and resolutions though, but it is definitely a bonus for the Ursa Mini Pro.

@@Jsfilmz granted, it adds another 3 inches to the camera's length, but it integrates nicely with the camera (no need for an external T5) and the ability to slide in a 4TB or 8TB SSD and be done with it might appeal to some. Depends on your needs.

Color pollution in the P4K footage... compared to the G2... Seems wired reflections are going on with this body, especially with heavy lights in frame (sky, urban electric lighting)... Guess u managed the front protection of lenses the same way... Or is it crop related ?...
if a regular xlr input is essential and I want to do mini documentaries but handheld and no rig I might still go with the Ursa

Thanks for this comparison video on the bmpcc4k. Coming from a canon 5d mark2 set up, I was debating on getting the gh5 or the bmpcc4k for video, I’m definitely leaning on the bmpcc4k side while keeping my canon 5d mark2 for stills. Between compatible batteries, EF lenses (xl adapter) means I won't have to invest in a whole new lens setup. Question.... How is the hand held look of the bmpcc4k with a image stabilized lens? I can’t seem to find any YT videos on this subject... ✌️

Depends on the job. Run and gun you have to give it to the gh5. Auto focus/ stabilizer and stills. If your by yourself. Figure anything tech will get robbed out of your car in cost Rica, Bali, Thailand, Panama... ok, well, I've been robbed in those places.. lol. So, it depends on the gig. I use my red (or in the case of this video, a g2 when you have crew and you can afford a PA ti watch the car/gear pile. But your not gonna want to lug to much up a trail or down a street in Manhattan. Still camera plus video camera plus lens plus batteries for both. And chargers. Again, what are you shooting and do you film with a crew or not. Plan on a gimbal as well with the BM if your just looking for a handheld camera 100% of the time.

I could be wrong. But I think the bmpcc4k's that ship with 6.2 firmware cannot be downgraded to 6.1. I remember reading so.ething in the forums. I do hopenim wrong coz cDNG I agree is beautiful

Why is DNG better than Braw? Braw has a much smoother workflow
with my computer they run about the same speed. After doing some tests cndg on the p4k just yields better results. theres a conspiracy that bmd forced the p4k to get braw so it wont compete with its higher cameras.

Why does everyone treat speedboosters as if they are a huge deal? Its the same effect as just buying a wider and faster lens. Of course it lets you use lenses you already own in two different configurations (with and without) but it has nothing to do with the cameras low light capabilities. 3200 still performs as 3200. You just have a faster lens now. I can just toss my native f0.95 lenses on the camera and ignore the entire existence of speedboosters and still have better lowlight capability than the vast majority of adapted optics. Unless you are taking a canon f1, or f1.2 and adapting that over you aren't getting much more than what you get with the native options (voigtlanders) which already have clickless aperture rings and very very nice manual focus rings.
it is still a 3200 but 1 stop in dark situations is really great. The noise from 3200 vs 6400 is so different that having that extra stop really helps so u can just shoot at 3200. If you can find me a 18-35mm 1.2 lens then yea i wouldnt need a sb 0.95 is garbage atleast my copy was not sharp at all at wide open it defeats the purpose of having .95 if your having go stop down
hmmmmm.... the G2 has only an issue with the design of the camera, but isn't BMR a better codec than Redcode raw?
I think the G2 can easily compete with a Red camera anyday.

JSFILMZ red has a greedy patent stranglehold on the market, BM snaked through red Apple and atomos
To do their own thing. So from a market perspective goooo BM. However from what I hear from blackmagic, red is annoyed with BM due to price, arri is flat out pissed due to color science
The color casts seem opposite to me from what you said. The G2 looks like it pushes green and the P4K magenta. I have the P4K and I love EVERYTHING about it except sensor size (duh) and the color. One of my fav things about the RED is it's color science which pushes the f--k out of the greens, and the G2 looks closer to that to me, especially when A-Bing it with the P4K.
Great videos. Oliver is right about your sound though. A lav would probably give your videos that extra pro edge. Your visuals are already decent. Getting your audio there will round things out nicely.

What is the depth of field like on the G2?
Depth of field is in the lens.
MCinsayno it’s also effected by the sensor/film size. So the Ursa with a larger S35 sensor would be capable of a narrower DoF.

That V-Mount plate with a belt is just such a rip off for 109$. You get the exact same result with a fanny pack in which you put your v-mount.
hahahaha only thing i can say is sometimes the actual v mount battery doesnt output enough via the dtap so you will need to use the plate. For example i cant power my arri alexa with just the battery's dtap so i needed a plate

@@FelixFukuyoshi yup. just gotta make sure ur batt has enough juice. For smaller cameras, you shouldnt have a problem. My arri draws 85 watts no way in heck that would get poweres via dtap
