Correction. The lens adapter I use and recommend is actually the 0.71x which you can find here: bhpho.to/2Ft8A7P NOT the 0.64x like I say in the video. Confusion on my end resulted in the mistake. Sorry! I don't want anyone to get the wrong one. Yes the 0.71x is the one I use in most of the shots in this video and it works great but it does vignette slightly with some APSC lenses. Still it works. The 0.64x will ONLY work with full frame lenses.
Strange that you dont mention the much much much cheaper Viltrox ef-m2 instead of the Metabones, since you are always so budget friendly.... It gets very good review everywhere. Oh and if an adapter vignettes with SOME apsc lenses, its likely the lenses fault. I would go for fullframe lenses anyway, since you then always stay in the centre of the image circle, which is always the sweet spot, even on cheaper lenses.

Tom - Q1) I noticed you were using your monitor on your gimbal. Doesn’t the HDMI cable running into your monitor from the BMPCC4k interfere with the gimbals balance? Q2) What are you using to attach your monitor to your gimbal? Thanks.
1- Nope because the cable is very thin and flexible. Also the gimbal is very strong. 2- It's a generic friction arm I got on Amazon. I recently purchased a much better arm from SmallRig that I will show in a future video. The new one is a lot more sturdy.

Great video!!! Definitely subscribed. I'm between the bmpcc and the gh5s for a cinema/wedding setup. Planning on putting it on a glidecam and using a speed booster. One question, I understand that there is vignetting with the . 64 metabones adapter when using a lens like the Sigma 18-35 1.8, but would adding cinematic black bars on the top and bottom of the screen in post essentially hide the vignetteing? Or is it safer to go with a . 71? Also what is your preference between the black magic and the gh5s? Thanks!!

Tim I'm a bigginer film/photography/actor/dancer/singer/writer. And you've tough me so much with everything you do, my favorite film of you're is "Actors life" and I have always been wondering about what equipment I should get you've helped me so much, but the only thing is I have a tricky budget! I have about "250$" so do you recommend anything to me? I love you and you're one of my favorites!!!
I have a gh5 and a bmmp4k but literally the only difference between micro and 4/3 is the room for a penta prism the size of the sensor is the same and the everything so idk what ur talking about crop with gh5. Makes no sense. Here’s an exact definition. image sensor of Four Thirds and MFT measures 18 mm × 13.5 mm (22.5 mm diagonal), with an imaging area of 17.3 mm × 13.0 mm (21.6 mm diagonal), comparable to the frame size of 110 film.[3] Its area, ca. 220 mm2, is approximately 30% less than the APS-C….so get your facts straight
I got the metabones 0.64x with the Sigma EF-S 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art lens and it seems to have around just as much vignette as in the footage you showed so I'm wondering why you say it the 0.64x only works with full frame lenses.
Great review, thanks! Im new to this, i like to buy the 4K version but have no idea what kind of speed booster ond or what kind of lens i must buy for it to have the greatest image color and quality! What would you do? Preferably a lens with image stabilisator. Thanks in advance.

1:43 I buy a bunch a Wasabi batteries for the BMPCC and I wouln't recommend them. They might be cheap, but they don't last long. They last less than the original BMPCC battery...
You seriously don't need a speedbooster, people get to hung up on that. The camera is already a great low light performer and there are plenty great lenses for M4/3 and otherwise you can almost adapt any lens to M4/3. It's definitly not true that you can't get shallow depth of field with this size sensor. Plus it saves you 650 dollars! :)

Brandon Tyler Watkins correct
I have a question when I try to focus I get this red outline reflective look Like a red outline at night and if I’m in a room with light. How can I fix this?
Tim I'm a bigginer film/photography/actor/dancer/singer/writer. And you've tough me so much with everything you do, my favorite film of you're is "Actors life" and I have always been wondering about what equipment I should get you've helped me so much, but the only thing is I have a tricky budget! I have about "250$" so do you recommend anything to me? I love you and you're one of my favorites!!!
Can the black magic use Panasonic lenses?
Can the BMPCC 4k use Sony lens with the speedbooster?
The term you're looking for with the External SSD Not Recognized bit THE BMPCC4K IS NOT "HOT SWAPPABLE" I REPEAT NOT HOT SWAPPABLE.
I would recommend people stop using lens IS and get a shoulder rig instead. It gives you a lot more natural movement.
Never trust advice from somebody who recommends buying holding batteries to run a cinema camera 😂😂
LPE6 are only to be used for swapping out modular batteries. Black magic even tells you that the LPE6 are not meant for recording.
Hi Tom, you recommend the 12-35mm Panasonic lens, but there seems to be a lot of videos and posts relating to the distortion. Max Yuryev on his channel shows some pretty alarming results. ruclips.net/video/C3wo7wCR7Ac/видео.html Have you experienced this issue and if so, how do you correct for it. Thanks
1:43 I buy a bunch a Wasabi batteries for the BMPCC and I wouln't recommend them. They might be cheap, but they don't last long. They last less than the original BMPCC battery...
Wait - at 4:00 - which one doesn't work to power the camera? Didn't you do a whole review about how the Feelworld MA5 DID power the BMPCC4K???
Best comment ever! “buy yourself a photo camera” Easy fix😂🤣👍🏽
Hi
With the wasabi battery how long time power the blackmagic 4k ? Thanks
here is an another problem: my BMPCC4K bricked after 7.9 update. any suggestions? I am desperate!!!!
I would probably buy this if it had autofocus, because I am a noob and a one-man show. :o
what cinema lenses do you have?
Too many to mention. But my favorites are the Xeen lenses.
