Hi, what working space to use when applying this LUT?
As someone who has used Zebras for years, this just makes much more sense. Fantastic video 🤙🏻
You have some of the best videos on RUclips, because you don’t just make videos, you’re an actual Cinematographer. And most Cinematographers don’t put a lot of time and care into their videos.
Thanks for this! Very helpful.
Thanks Mateo! I found you looking for a good lesson on false colors and I got a short master class in camera from a pro!
Dude...such beautiful footage. It drives home all of your points so strongly.
This helped me A lot. Changed the whole way I film. Thank you. I've never had better skin tones
I just want to say thank you for what you do, and so far, everything I've seen on your channel is fantastic. I'm a 45-year-old restaurant professional and sommelier who was headed into the Master of Wine program until COVID hit, and now I am fulfilling on an age-old passion for becoming a filmmaker. I am in just my third month at Los Angeles Film School, and we are barely scratching the surface of our technical basics; this video, in particular, is like a mini masterclass. I will be devouring everything you produce, and it's a pleasure with such beautiful and elegant shots. I will most likely be doing a lot of initial work in vineyards, which is part of my long-term vision and background. So I look forward to seeing you on the playground someday and hopefully learning more from you as well. Ciao.
Don Myers hey Don! Thanks so much for your comment and best of luck for the future! If you are coming to Tampa or I’ll be visiting LA, let’s get a glass of wine!
Matteo Bertoli copy that sir! I’m in Dallas, TX for the meantime so give a shout to donzi@rebelsomm.com or d.myers1@lafilm.edu if you’re ever out this way. LA’s weather is generally nicer, but it’s pretty great here now as well.
Your footage inspires me. You’ve got the best images coming out of these cameras. Thanks.
Thank you for explaining in such a humble, knowledgeable fashion! Appreciate this.
Mateo Thank You for this beautifully shot, elegantly explained video. I am a high end Retoucher transitioning my skills to video and color grading. Hearing you talk about letting your shadows go black for the silouhetted scene got an amen 🙏 from me! You don’t know how many times I’ve been in a color booth with a photo editor reviewing a gorgeous image and because it has some darkness in it they want to open the shadows that should be dark! This affects mood, alters the reality of the scene- the #honesty of it. Loved 🥰 this video. Your shooting style and pragmatic explanation. Subscribed! 👊
Thanks! Some beautiful shots and inspiration here. Looking forward to watch more videos from you.
Nella sua semplicità e chiarezza espositiva, questo è uno dei video più preziosi ed accurati sull'argomento. Ti seguo da anni, Matteo, e spero un giorno di avere modo di conoscerti. Keep up the good work.
Absolute gold. Thank you so much. And such gorgeous footage too!
Thank you I seen a lot of false color video but u made it very simple to understand
Hey Matteo! Thank you very much for this EXTREMELY USEFUL piece of content!
You’re a God’s sent!
I’ll follow you FOREVER now.
Thanks again, dude! You rock!
The best detailed and explained video on the topic I've come across. Also - absolutely amazing footage! I can't wait to get mine to that next level!
I totally agree with you! Especially about ISO and colors and feelings in the image instead of "technicaly right exposure"
I never really looked into false colors. Now I am very excited to try it!!! Thanks!!
I love your work man, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am ready to push my filming career.
Wow, i watch many many Videos of the BMPCC4K and this is the best CC i've seen
Really cool video. Explained a lot on the false color that I’m trying to learn. Thank you dude!
This video was a GREAT explanation of false color. Thanks! It helped a lot.
Even this lesson is very well edited. Thanks for sharing this info!
legendary stuff, your footage is breathtaking
Amazing video as ever thanks so much for taking the time to explain how false colours work.👍
thanks for this video man. great tips. i only started looking into false colors recently and it helps tremendously
Just got into video recording with the BMPCC4K. Found this video extremely helpful since I'm recording in low light conditions. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
ciao Matteo! Your clips have the cleanest look i've ever seen! You made my day!
Thanks for sharing this mate! You def helped me to expose properly & build out the right BMPCC 4K rig for me.
Thanks for posting, I bought your luts because of your videos.
Hey Mat - great stuff. I agree, I always thought that "exposing to the right" stuff was a lot of nonsense - it never gave me great results. And yes - night is supposed to be darker than day, I couldn't agree more. Truer words were never spoken. Keep the truth and great work coming!
Hey Matteo, love your content. Really helpful and the footage looks really good. Great texture! Creamy and dreamy!!!
Your footage is brilliant!!! Thanks for your tutorial!
Great video Matteo! False Colour is a complete gamechanger
Found this very helpful, many thanks!
Great info I'm definitely going to pick up the buttery luts for my bmpcc4k
Hi Matt. Love your channel. Just got my 4K a week ago and am so enjoying the experience. Learning alot including false color. I'm also using vintage lenses for the time being. Will grab a native lense soon. Appreciate your teaching.
Great vid Matteo! Love your teaching!
Your B-roll is gorgeous 🎥
Thanks for explaining.
Edit:
Watching till the end. Maaaan that 4k footage…you blow my mind with the quality!
Love this!! Man, you make owning a BMPCC a must. I am waiting for mine to arrive. I wanted to thank you for taking the time to teach this! You are truly an inspiration.
Thank you Adam!!
Thanks for sharing. This was really helpful. Keep up the good work
This was extremely helpful. Thanks for making this!
Love you man, you are one of the bmpcc kings😀
Exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you sir.
Very helpful. Thank you so much! I just starting to transition from dslr cameras to cinema cameras so this is very informative.
For anyone seeing this and owning a Pocket (Original, 4k or 6K), you NEED to get his LUT ! They're really game changers...
I have been on the verge since it was released! I have NEVER found a LUT that really worked but now a bunch of cinematographers I know use it and I am really tempted!
Your footage is so beautiful!
Thanks a lot! This was really useful! Didn't know where the usual sweet spot lies with false colors. I've previously just avoided blues and reds without further fine adjustments. Also incorrectly recalled about BMPCC 4K's native ISO by much higher, so glad you brought it up, because I would've kept being way off the ISO reference without looking in to it.
dude i love this video! learned so much about exposing
I just got my bmpcc4k and men this video is one of the best explaning how to get a pretty good exposure ,why and how, Thanks.
Very useful information. Well done and great footage.
very helpful video , amazing footage , precise too .
I am cinematographer and I just found out about false color today and you are the first person to put me through and I got everything I needed... Thanks
Lol
Thank you for such an informative tutorial!!
Great video--super excellent, practical advise...comports very much with my own conclusions about exposure: use your eyes, stay away from the red in false color. Thank you so much.
Thanks! Just got my BMPCC 4k and this was very helpful
Absolutely amazing video. Thank you so very helpful
Hi Matteo, found my way to your channel through this video. Great explanation on false color! This video is easy to understand and well put together. You're footage looks awesome and you gained a follow from me! Also, you had extra information that helped me regarding exposure, such as touching base about ETTR.
Look at those amazing backgrounds... so jealous!
Great video and explanation. Thank you!
So easy and so good explanation through wonderfull scenes. THANK YOU VERY MUCH :-)
One subject that i tried to ignore was False Colour 👀 thank you for giving precious tips👏🏼
Beautiful stuff. Never stop shooting, brother. Never stop.
Must say. All the footage looks awesome!
thanks for this video! helpful for someone just getting into the BMPCC. Your footage looks amazing, love the vibe!
Thank you for the information. It was VERY helpful
wow best 1080 youtube footage I've seen! so clean!
Very useful and beautiful shots. Thanks!
Sir thank you very very much today i learnt something new from you that is important more to see from you sir greetings from Albania much love
Matteo, great to have you back in California! I think this is one of your best videos regarding your workflow. I can't wait to see what other footage you start posting! But this was a great vid for understanding false color. Thanks a bunch for the great info!
Best false color video on RUclips by far. Thank you so much.
Thank you Matteo, that was a really good video, informative and entertaining with your sick B-rolls. +1 subscriber
Keep up with with the good stuffs 👊🏼
Man you are a wizard with the BMPCC4K. Straight up goals!
Very great advice!
Man this is refreshing to hear. To train your eye and capture as much in camera as possible. I feel like I’m drowning in untenable workflow videos thinking this is insane. Looks like it’s just a matter of practicing and training.. who would’ve thunk it 😉
Excited to have subbed
Very, very well done sir.
Great video again Matteo. Looked forward to watching this all day and it was well worth the wait. 👍
Amazing class! 👏👏👏
Really enjoyed this and appreciate your position regarding false color and 400 ISO.
Great video! Super informative!! Thank you!
Thank you very much Mateo ! Your videos are very useful 💪🏽🎬 saludos desde Argentina
Just purchased the BUTTERY LUTs. Looking forward to the next steps in my BMPCC 4K Journey.
This video is AWESOME!
beautiful explanation man.
10min film school series! Thanks for sharing man. Helps to get info from someone whose work I’ve respected for a while now.
Awesome video, really helpful
So helpful, thanks. Subbed. Hey, and beautifully presented with superb samples.
Man I tried this with my video monitor and it works with good exposure thank you so much
Love that video ! I wasn't sure how to expose with false color, so this helps a lot !
Proof is in the pudding. I love nothing more than listening to a video on a topic I'm trying to understand, seeing footage that proves time and time again why I shoot be watching and listening to that person. Your footage looks awesome. I was on the fence trying to figure out if I wanted to buy luts or just do what I've been doing and I will be trying buttery luts for sure. At least for all my clean/standard/commercial style work. Thanks for the quick tutorial and all the useful info
only question I have is: You say you rarely go to 3200 but wouldn't 3200 be cleaner than the few numbers before it? Since its the dual native ISO or whatever? (sorry im new to video coming over from about 8 years of photography and a little video work) bmpcc4k btw
Incredibly helpful!!
Never clicked so fast for a video! Sooo Worth it! Thank you, Matteo.
Thanks for the info, Matteo. I picked up your Buttery LUT for the BMPCC 4k and it works a treat!
Thanks!!
By the way, I love your images! You’ve got quite an eye for art.
amazin tutorial man thank you!
Insanely helpful. Thank you. 🤙🏻
Matteo makes the best LUTS on the market! I don't use anything else these days! You can see how much he knows from the equality of these clips and how great the LUTS are. Amazing customer service too!
Thank you!
I've been watching your channel a while now and I just LOVE your work
hey man new sub here! Love your philosophy on exposure and the way you explain things so nicely. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more videos from you
Awesome and very usefull!!!Thanks!
