Some years ago Intel goes to the mobile business with Asus, they make a Zenfone 2 after then they leave the mobile part. I don´t trust intel in any other business. They just can make CPUs.
I have to confess, I really want a NUC. It's more tempting than a full desktop build. Keeping in mind this is from the perspective of someone who's been Console gaming for a long time now, and only recently thinking of returning to PC gaming. I could just throw a cheap GPU in my existing desktop, but the NUC to me looks like it would be at home on the desk OR under the TV, which is attractive.
THANK YOU! Finally someone has given an example of the damn fan noise, which is one of my, and assume everyone else's, greatest concerns when it comes to the size..
I was thinking oh this guy is late to the game (youtube didn't bring you to me until now), but I checked the date. On top of that it was a really well made video, and you have clear communication which I really liked. I've been debating in my mind for months what micro pc system I should get. I kept feeling that this system may be too weak to handle what I want.
For anyone wondering about a comparison this NUC performs about on par with my i7 3770k at 4.5ghz and r9 280x at 1150mhz on the core. The superposition scores are the same as is the cinebench scores so id assume so are the fps in games
Can you do a test how well it does with freesync. I have a feeling amd and intel worked together because they saw how well they where doing on the iMac pro.
Ankur Singhal I didn’t know people used the word “bucks” in Australia when referring to price. I also made the assumption that you were referring to USA dollars. I guess I learned something new.
I would love to see someone benchmark the scaled back $799 NUC version against the $799 i5/GTX 960 Alienware alpha . we might have a new micro itx SoC winner with this.
can you make a video on a dual socket x58 affordable motherboard from aliexpress with triple channel memory that fits in a normal pc case and over-clockable?
When you get over the novelty and constant cleaning of your glasses get contact lenses for sure. I wore glasses for 10 years then contacts changed my life.
The NUC would be ideal if this could hold a 2.5" drive. I wouldn't even mind if the NUC is still ever slightly taller for that. Also would be great to compare that vs the 3GB GTX 1060.
Hello. Can someone please recommend which one of these two will work best for this NUC: - Samsung 960 EVO MZ-V6E1T0BW - Solid state drive - encrypted - 1 TB - internal - M.2 2280 - PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) - 256-bit AES - Samsung 860 EVO MZ-N6E1T0BW - Solid state drive - encrypted - 1 TB - internal - M.2 2280 - SATA 6Gb/s - buffer: 1 GB - 256-bit AES Feel free to recommend something else as well.
makes you think that if AMD really wanted to, could make an APU on the TR4 socket and blow everything out of the water with 8 cores 16 threads and a high powered vega solution.
Yes i did seen it before... I think there could be more clean looking jobs could have done. And maybe a custom cooler with the whole bottom plate. Either watercooling or aircooling.
Tech YES City the Yes Man was apparently always right :O thanks for correcting me. I honestly thought the name had to do with Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Now I feel kind of dumb to associate pc case with a composer :D
So how much do I have to pay when I fully load this device? Note that I consider a "full loaded" device if I am getting at least 32GB RAM and plenty of storage space to hold the OS and many games. By the way, I guess I will have to buy a OS for this machine and thus the total price should also include the price of buying, say Window 10 Pro, plus all things I mentioned above. One more question, will $1,500 USD be enough to get the device "fully loaded"? Or will I have to pay more than $2,000 USD? Thank you for your video.
Yes, the battery part sucks but I can deal with the rest. What would be the size of a laptop with similar benchmarks though in addition to a power brick.
Hi there, I have a question about this amazing device. Is there a way to connect the Nuc to a laptop to use its screen without ending up in lag or compatibility issues? For example, I have a Macbook Pro late 2014, on which I've installed windows bootcamp for soft gaming. So, I wonder if I can connect the nuc on the mac.
Bryan i have one tip as ex semi pro csgo player. For CSGO benchmark, always use 720p low, thats the preferable resolution for more than 80% of pro players. CSGO is made on source engine which is heavily based on cpu power, gpu has insanely low utilization. Benchmark map is updated recently so it uses more cpu resources, thats why min fps is so low in smoke part of the run, because its utilizing purely the cpu. Great content as always buddy, didnt have the chance to than you for your budget build deals, learned so much from you, and started making profit myself recently ;) Keep it going !
Why would you run 720p if you have plenty of GPU power? I don't see any advantage. In games like Fortnite (and probably PUBG), you run high resolution like 4k and max render distance with a little on shadows to see people's movement (the higher the resolution, the easier it is to spot someone). I get 200-240 fps on Fortnite: 4k, Epic render distance, medium shadows, Epic textures (makes no FPS difference, so why not), everything else low or off. That's the best settings in my opinion Overclocked Titan Xp and Ryzen 1700 (optimized RAM timings). Titan is by far the limiting factor, but no multi-GPU support for that game sadly.
Waiting mine for christmas gift, I just want something to carry on my bag and to plug it to a monitor, keyboard and mouse. Gaming laptops with decent graphics cards 1060 and above are a lot expensive in my country than this NUC, I'm from Mexico and I paid 1000usd tax included for one of these, not a bad deal if you ask me. This is like carrying a PS4 pro on my bag, with productivity capabilities. I will put it 16GB in RAM and 512GB SSD and external storage for games.
diegomireles I am from the USA and share the same thoughts. Power + portable + quiet. Usually you have to take one factor out but this one has it all and I’m willing to pay a little more for that. Gaming laptops run warmer and sound like jets when gaming. IBM custom designed it to make sure this runs cool and quiet which we can all appreciate.
Nisco Racing He might look ridiculous, but he is probably getting paid quite well to wear those things, it's amazing what some people will do for money.
@memyselfandi Why would anyone pay him for wearing glasses where he doesn't show any branding, logo and never mentions the name? Think before you write, your comment makes no sense.
akrna69 It was already revealed (I can't exactly remember now) either in a previous video or later video that Bryan was wearing these glasses to promote a company, of which he mentioned their name and encouraged viewers to check them out if they need glasses. 1 such video - See *April 23, 2018* video link below. *April's Used PC Parts Hunt - The BOGAN Is Back!* ruclips.net/video/R3NACr9vQjs/видео.html Underneath this video (link above) in the *info* section, there is a brief write up and advertisement of sorts about this EyeGlasses company, there's a couple of Bryan's other video's, advertising this company as well, but I aint gonna spoon feed you, so it's up to you to find the rest of them yourself. P.S. - I *always* think before I type, do you, not so it seems. My comment was and still is fully coherent, therefore it stands ! P.P.S. - Do some research, before you criticize people over things which you know nothing about, mkay !
I am considering it only if everything is built-in as you said and something files then I am not able to replace it and I already have some issues with Intel and security considering that intell ME installed on a bios level and I have a liking for AMD
Hey teck yes city, I want to buy my first gaming pc. But my budget is £200.I have a Dell Optiplex 755 sff. Should I upgrade that or get a pre built pc with an i5 2400 and put on an graphics card.
RedComms 200£ is a decent budget. If I were you I'd probably build a complete new pc around an r9 290 if you get a decent deal for it and then just get a 2 series or 3 series cpu with it. I5 or i7 obviously
If you plan on upgrading that Optiplex your options are extremely limited to size of your card and power consumption. And if you buy a new pre built same thing upgrade path is limited. I may not be Tech Yes city. But I hope it helped
Also keep in mind that if you plan on using something more power hungry than a 750 ti, you’ll need to buy a better PSU than what comes in these pre builts (assuming you get a tower PC that has a standard sized power supply)
And now we began to see one of the seeds that grew into nvidia's tantrum called the gpp. Nvidia knew this was coming , as well as the as yet to be released Vega graphics card. Can't wait to see it.

Well I will be waiting for the next gen with all the problems solved and a 6 core CPU. Hardware prices in my country are sky high.A 1060 cost 1/3 of this build.
Need advice please help. I have bought a ryzen 7 2700X and gigabyte x470 aorus gaming 7 WiFi motherboard. I need to buy ram and I have a budget of around $210usd 16gig.Corsair Vengeance RGB LED 16GB looks good. I don't know that much about DDR4 memory. What would be compatible and will be buying from Amazon us. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
I really am impressed with the child Intel and AMD produced. Not something I thought would ever happen, but I am glad it happened.
if nvidia and amd worked together, we could see 8k 60 fps capable cards in a few years
NORMIE MEMES FOR NORMIE TEENS no. But possibly 4k 60fps mainstream like 300$ in 1 2 years
Dragonball Gaming true
Some years ago Intel goes to the mobile business with Asus, they make a Zenfone 2 after then they leave the mobile part. I don´t trust intel in any other business. They just can make CPUs.
I really want this... But the price.... If only i could afford it
Studio and production lookin good my dude. You’ve kicked it up a notch.
I have to confess, I really want a NUC. It's more tempting than a full desktop build. Intel: if you can't beat 'em, join 'em
also hire em ! :P
Make sense
AMD: Please Intel, let us make CPUs for your chipsets. 90's huh?!
5:58 Thank you for the unit volume experience, it is what I really care about, cost isn't a problem and power is nice when you need it
Those glasses look really nice. Legitimately unique. Keep up the good work Brian
Just got this and it’s my Steam console I love it.
Can it run games in 4k ? I am considering to play on the living room TV.
im excited to see stuff like this wondering what they can do in the future
THANK YOU! Finally someone has given an example of the damn fan noise, which is one of my, and assume everyone else's, greatest concerns when it comes to the size..

Hallison Michel this quieter? mate what dank u on?
Glasses give him that vibe of "I do it for the thrill of it" look :P
5:40 - thank you so much for noize test!
Looks like an amazing media center box... would love one for the living room.
Electricos Cosmos this would be a total waste for a media center. A much cheaper itx system is more than enough for 4k video playback etc.
but nowhere as cool.
Great review Bryan. Thanks
I would love to have one of these. Maybe I’ll save up for one
Can you do a test how well it does with freesync. I have a feeling amd and intel worked together because they saw how well they where doing on the iMac pro.

WOW ... $1400 bucks and you still have to buy storage and ram !! I hope AMD don't take clues from Intel on how to price new products.
Ankur Singhal Actually $1000 for the barebone variant (the one where you have to buy RAM and storage)
Senseurian In Australia 1400 if you didn't listen^^
Not everyone lives in the US !!!
Don’t get mad when u are using colloquialism that is used in both America and Australia...
If its like the old skull "nuc" its MASSIVELY expensive in Australia
Great video!
can you make a video on a dual socket x58 affordable motherboard from aliexpress with triple channel memory that fits in a normal pc case and over-clockable?

That's pretty cool. I think the price points are appropriate.
Well im sold. Just cause you can change the bios. Thanks fo tha video. The glasses aren't that bad. It's good the glasses are loud.
As soon as a Nuc comes out that can match like an RX 580 or GTX 1060, I'm all over it. Great video as always sir
By that time the GTX 1100 series would of been out for a few years.
Hello. Can someone please recommend which one of these two will work best for this NUC:
- Samsung 960 EVO MZ-V6E1T0BW - Solid state drive - encrypted - 1 TB - internal - M.2 2280 - PCI Express 3.0 x4 (NVMe) - 256-bit AES
- Samsung 860 EVO MZ-N6E1T0BW - Solid state drive - encrypted - 1 TB - internal - M.2 2280 - SATA 6Gb/s - buffer: 1 GB - 256-bit AES
Feel free to recommend something else as well.
Great video! Any plans on testing it with an egpu.
I have mine configured with raid 0 running 970 2tb this little 4tb beast is all you need!
makes you think that if AMD really wanted to, could make an APU on the TR4 socket and blow everything out of the water with 8 cores 16 threads and a high powered vega solution.
Custom cooling solutions for this kit would be rocks.
Did you see the Gamers Nexus video? They attached an AIO to it haha
Yes i did seen it before... I think there could be more clean looking jobs could have done. And maybe a custom cooler with the whole bottom plate. Either watercooling or aircooling.
Stop chopping the Chopin mate ;D
Great video though, keep it up.
www.dictionary.com/browse/chopin click the speaker icon - was... the yes man right all along...?!
@Tech YES City why the 80s glasses again.
Yuckkkkk.
Tech YES City the Yes Man was apparently always right :O thanks for correcting me. I honestly thought the name had to do with Polish composer Frederic Chopin. Now I feel kind of dumb to associate pc case with a composer :D
That power adapter is a monster though. Could have used more of a look at that.
would totally get my hand on one of these if I could get it second handed at half the price.
a pretty awesome living room multimedia/gaming pc without taking to much space!
I'd be interested to see what gaming performance would be like with an external gpu? Specifically the auros game box 1080.
So how much do I have to pay when I fully load this device? Note that I consider a "full loaded" device if I am getting at least 32GB RAM and plenty of storage space to hold the OS and many games. I'd love to see the high detail settings in the games that gave well over 100 fps on low.
That Vega M looks lovely, duel Vega graphics card plz
What would be the main argument to purchase this over a laptop?
Yes, the battery part sucks but I can deal with the rest. What would be the size of a laptop with similar benchmarks though in addition to a power brick.
1.2lt PLUS another 1lt for the PSU! As much as I’d love one of these that PSU is just ridiculous.
nice little unit. you know with a 7nm version of vega on there you could have twice the CU's with about the same tdp. that would be a beast
Tech YES City
Have you considered sourcing an X58 ITX mobo and putting it along with ITX 1050/rx 560 into an PS4/Xbone case and picoPSU ?
Pretty impressive. If you don't care about upgradability this would be a nice option.
I notices it also has intel iris 630 graphics. Does the unit, use that when under light load and then switch to rx vega? Or perhaps it combines both.
I like cheaper version a bit more. I wish even for cheaper version with less connection available and maybe one less m2 slot.
Doesn't using the extreme overclocking utility void the warranty?

One of the only person using 1080p is Jordan (n0thing)
In cs, but I think most pubg player uses 1080p
I compared my old X5670/GTX 680 build to it and scored 6448 in Superposition @ 4:21. 2010 vs 2018 and retro wins!
Why did u play at low settings? I wanted to see fps on high
Andrew Wolfenstein Or even medium settings. I don’t know who would play in low settings if the setup is getting over 100fps.
Random question but how much should i pay for a used gtx 970? I don't wanna over pay
Does the Vega M GH support FreeSync through the mini display port.
would you recommend placing th power brick beneath the nuc for a mobile monitor nuc solution?
AMD: Do you trust me?
Intel: .... I do.
*Handshake*
i want it it is so much better then what i have
Is mini displayport better than hdmi 2.0? I cant get freesync to work with my hade canyon NUC...

Luv 'dem lenses.
The only thing that sets it in the ''will never buy'' basket is the price/performance ratio.
Does it take proper DDR4 and not like the other nucs that use LAPTOP low voltage ram
What is that Nuc motherboard? Nuc dz87 ?
6 slot ddr3 hashwell? I only find the dz87klt??
Ah found it. DX58S02. Its a 1366 board (x58). Is it any good?? Overclocking xeon wise.
It's my monitor or the colours are a little bit saturated?
Where is that hnk review? 😞

Sir_Sethery thanks for your advice.
I want my pre-order so bad I'm losing my mind FFS. Thought it was supposed to come out April.
whats the name of the song of your yes tech city intro @1.18
Is there any 'Amd inside' or radeon inside sign?
And now we began to see one of the seeds that grew into nvidia's tantrum called the gpp. Nvidia knew this was coming , as well as the as yet to be released Vega graphics card. Can't wait to see it.
Damn...this is a pretty good deal...so about 2k(aud) with 32gb sodims and hd's?
Can you please install Ubuntu 18.04 Mate onto the nuc and test it with games under Linux before giving it back
Both AMD and Intel have dropped proper driver support for this mutant APU. I recently received a Chinese clone but the driver support is basically gone.
Hope this doesn't have the same driver problem as the canyon a lot of games just don't work on it
Well I will be waiting for the next gen with all the problems solved and a 6 core CPU. Hardware prices in my country are sky high.A 1060 cost 1/3 of this build.
If only we could get this on a discreet card for a good price..
Is it good for video editing?
So it's between a gtx 1050ti and a gtx 970?
How?
Reminds me my old Alienware Alpha.
I can build a small form factor 1070 rig for 600-800....
TecksTV Sure.
Haha, what a story Mark!
Impossible
TecksTV well now idgaf with that fucking attitude
Because I gave a shit in the first place. Man I was SOOOO hoping you would look into it. My day is ruined.

make a video guide for new window update pls its messing up my gaming
can we have this in laptops please? but for like 2/3 of the price
Why even use low settings to benchmark it? Compare it to top graphics cards!
But can it run crysis ?
yes
the funny thing is that it probably can run crysis
Yes and then some
Arctic sound ?
How does it compare to a GTX 1060 3/6GB? But damn that's impressive. AMD needs to implement Vega into more of these mobile solutions.
Can it play farcry5 4k in high detail and have over 70 fps?
My 1080tis can
This PC can add 2.5in SSD and u.2 SSD?
I miss the old intro song 😢
Make a comparison between that and a gtx 1060 6gb
why not 5.0 bluetooth?
really cool! wow.
Sad that its not for keeps
Come on Intel
The csgo 0.1% is like this for literally all pcs as the benchmark map contains old smokes which are not optimised at all.
