When you rename the rap file from RAP to rap, make sure to double check it in MMCM cuz i renamed it in my pc but when i checked it in MMCM it was all uppercase

IMPORTANT: One thing was really confusing while I was following your video...I followed your video but my raps were not working and my games were also not starting...but after watching some more videos I came to know we have to first activate our system to activate our rap files...so I was on 4.87 then I updated to 4.89 and jailbreak ed the system again by hen and after that I followed your video again and then the thing worked like a butter smooth...thanks....and the best thing you also don't need any psn patch or the reactpsn to activate the raps..the hen itself activates the rap fils

simple and super quick method i found to install 4gb+ pkg's (WITH NO NEED NEED TO SPLIT THE PKG GAME FILE) on HEN is to install IRISMAN on your HEN PS3...IRISMAN's file manager reads ntfs drives even though the PS3 itself does not, therefore you can put files larger than 4gb on NTFS flash and IRISMAN will detect it.... so pop in your NTFS usb drive with your 4gb+ pkg on it into the right usb port of your PS$ - enable HEN then open IRISMAN on your PS3 - when it opens, press start on controller - select tools - select file manager - then your ntfs usb will appear at the bottom - select the ntfs drive - locate your pkg game - press triange on controller - then select "exit + mount to xmb" - irisman will close and go back to xmb - then go to your package manager - install package files - standard - voila! This video was very helpful, however if you are using splitfiles I figured out that you take all the same steps but gotta open up multi man first and then install package file there and after thats done you can normally install the package file on the file manager under HEN

I followed your instructions, installed the package file, the game showed up on the list but when I try to run it it says license invalid. Also there is nothing to install under the "Playstation Netwok Content". -- EDIT -- if the license file name ends with .RAP just change it to .rap (yes apparently upper and lowercase matter)

Using mutliman, yes CFW is a lot more user friendly, NO you do not need hen. Look up the youtuber E7ite, has amazing tutorials for getting a cfw all setup and ready

I don’t know why these tutorials never work for me. I swear I’m doing everything correctly. Every time I hit X to start the game it gives me some error message saying something along the lines of “Log into the account this game was originally purchased on” with the PS Store logo in the message as well. i have hfw 4.84.2 with hen 2.2.2 and this metod don't work. I stand corrected, it was the activation PS3 offline with Apollo Save Tool that prevented me from starting psn games, by activating the system from playstation network the games started perfectly.
I have a problem. I used your technique, yet it keeps on saying that it requires registration to PSN to access the file, and that's with the license file on the USB on the proper port. Is there a workaround for this, with HEN 3.0.3?

In my case i put the .rap file in exdata directory and in a FAT32 memory storage(FAT32 is important! In NTFS i have same problem). In this way , when you start the game i have no problem, without installing anything in (package manager>>Playstation network content). Now, If you look with Triangle button the information of the game you look : NO LIMIT OF TIME.

Instead of using a flash drive, I simply FTP'ed 10 RAP files to the directory "dev_hdd0/exdata," and then I installed the 10 corresponding .pkg games and every one of them fired right up the first time, no problemo! The games all have updated from PSN, too and I'm able to play online! ...This seems a little too easy...Does one NEED to have the RAP file on the USB? Are there any risks that I'm overseeing by copying It directly to the HDD?? Or did the PS3 just get even more GREAT, again!?!? Thanks Mr. Mario!

The typical problem is between the .rap & the.pkg file.The .pkg file has to been recognized by exFAT USB drive,but the .rap file has to been recognized by PS3 with FAT32 USB drive and vica versa.The problem is if I set up the USB drive to FAT32,the PS3 can`t read the .pkg file(as we seen in your other tutorial). So how is it possible that in this tutorial can PS3 read the .pkg file under USB settings FAT32(not exFAT)? Explain to me please.
FAT32 can carry PKG and RAP files. The only problem with FAT32 is that it only lets you install PKGs that are smaller than 4GB. So for larger games like Battlefield etc... you need a NTFS drive, but you ll need to download 2 programs first so that the ps3 will be able to read your NFTs drive. It quite simple. Lots of vidoes on YT on how to do this. I know im a bit late lol. Responded cuz of a 2 week old comment.

hey guys, i figured it out! you actually do not need the rap files for those types of games. as soon as you boot the game hen activates them. demo or trial doesn't matter. all of them become the full version after you open the game with hen activated. Also if you are like me and do not like that a certain game says demo/trial on the title, there are licence/unlock pkg files for almost all of those games. (They come with their own rap file, so don't forget to get them too). After you install those files, trial/demo words disappear.
Does CFW have on the fly licensing? I’m having a real hard time getting pkg games to use the licenses. Could you link me to a video if you have one for CFW?
Well guys I have a way to install games larger than 4gb (thanks to the earlier comments ) btw ( only ntfs flashdrives works )first install the irisman manager HENtai edition then open it then press the start button then open tools then go to file manager then open the ntfs flashdrive which is plugged to the rightmost USB port .go to the game PKG open it by pressing x and copy it to the iris man folder (just press ok to copy the game ) then congratulations after copying the game exit to xmb then go the package manager open psn folder and install the game from there (note keep the pendrive plugged in while the game is being installed don't remove it after copying )also format another pendrive to fat32 to keep your exdata . (Place the fat32 pendrive after the installation of the games) .if any questions plz feel free to ask so .
If I wanted to do this with files larger than 4GB, would splitting the files with PS3splitter work with this method? Or would I have to put the broken up files into other folders and load them with mulitman like with your other tutorial. For example, can I split a file, place it to the root of the flash drive I'm using, and then use "install package file" then "standard" and install file; or would I have to place the broken up files into a game folder, then place the game folder into a GAMES folder on my flash drive and then use multiman to rebuild the file on the PS3, then go onto "install package file"..."standard"...?

If what you mean is installing pkg and rap from the NTFS drive, yes you can install the pkg from NTFS drive using prepare methods, but you need to copy the exdata folder to internal storage or smaller FAT32 drive,
I still can't play it. It seems I really need an usb flashdrive, but I got none. I tried sending the Rap file via FTP into the exdata folder in my PS3, but that won't work, can I install it without an USB and without PSN Patcher, I don't have it and I don't even know how to use it.

Can I somehow create an .iso file of the installed game and run it through webman? I somehow dislike that the game is displayed right in the menu and I would like to use webman folder structure that I like more. @@odinwingie3699 First you obviously need a Jailbroken PS3, with HEN installed. Then, enable HEN, and then open MultiMan. After loading in, go to the Games section, where you'll see your game (select Refresh if you don't see it). Below each game, there'll be some of these few icons: HDD, ISO, CD, DVD. Each of them denotes the location of that game. Simple press TRIANGLE and select CREATE ISO, choose a location and you're good to go. Conversely, you can extract an ISO, copy a game from one directory to the other, with the same procedure. Hope it helps.

Hey Mario, you've been really helpful, i have hen 3.0.1 and used filezilla to transfer some packages to /hdd0/packages along with their respective .rap file to /hdd0/exdata, after that installed them. Thing is, that doesn't really work, when I launch the game it just says something about PSN content, dont know the details, but pretty much i dont have a license. Any ideas why ?

You have to active your account preferably a throwaway account just in case you get banned then go offline and activate hen and just play ur games. Also u don’t need the usb stick if u transfer the raps to ur hdd exdata folder through ftp and u are good.
what worked for me assuming you have correct rap file and multiman installed. my PS3 wouldn't recognize exdata on the usb evidently and wasn't copying the rap file over and maybe I wasn't doing something right either IM a noob IDK lol anyhow......so i MANUALLY copied the RAP file to exdata folder located at dev_hdd0/exdata so simply ENABLE HEN then go to MULTIMAN then to FILE MANAGER then to PS3 ROOT(also you can click on your usb stick and now copy your rap file from where you have it saved and just use left directional pad to back out) and then dev_hdd0 and then paste your RAP file to exdata folder located inside dev_hdd0. after that if license and game coincide you should be in good shape.......hope this helps.
You have wrong rap filename. 1. you need .rap instead of .RAP 2. Some .RAPs has incorrect name. In my case i got GTA V rap file: "EP1004-NPEB01283_00-DFE911377560D0A1" instead of "EP1004-NPEB01283_00-GTAVDIGITALDOWNL.rap" and the same problem in mortal kombat so look carefully to letters after _00- in filename ;)
hello i have a modded ps3 under hen but when i download the games to put it my flash drive which is formatted under fat32 i seem to always arrive at this problem that it is to large for the flash cause fat32 drives cant hold files bigger than 4gb what can i do to fix this
Make sure you change the file extension of a rap file, from RAP to rap all lowercase. This will resolve the renew licence on playstation store issue.

Instead of using a flash drive, I simply FTP'ed 10 RAP files to the directory "dev_hdd0/exdata," and then I installed the 10 corresponding .pkg games and every one of them fired right up the first time, no problemo! The games all have updated from PSN, too and I'm able to play online! ...This seems a little too easy...Does one NEED to have the RAP file on the USB? Are there any risks that I'm overseeing by copying It directly to the HDD?? Or did the PS3 just get even more GREAT, again!?!? Thanks Mr. Mario!
The RAP files just need to be within one of the exdata folders until they're relicensed. No issue directly copying to HDD.

The typical problem is between the .rap & the.pkg file.The .pkg file has to been recognized by exFAT USB drive,but the .rap file has to been recognized by PS3 with FAT32 USB drive and vica versa.The problem is if I set up the USB drive to FAT32,the PS3 can`t read the .pkg file(as we seen in your other tutorial).
So how is it possible that in this tutorial can PS3 read the .pkg file under USB settings FAT32(not exFAT)?

FAT32 can carry PKG and RAP files. The only problem with FAT32 is that it only lets you install PKGs that are smaller than 4GB. So for larger games like Battlefield etc... you need a NTFS drive, but you ll need to download 2 programs first so that the ps3 will be able to read your NFTs drive. It quite simple. Lots of vidoes on YT on how to do this. I know im a bit late lol. Responded cuz of a 2 week old comment.

Make sure the file extension for your licence is "rap" not "RAP". Otherwise it wont get detected.

some games don't have rap files or anything to license them with. since you can't use cfw apps to activate them, what do you do in that case?
hey guys, i figured it out! you actually do not need the rap files for those types of games. as soon as you boot the game hen activates them. demo or trial doesn't matter. all of them become the full version after you open the game with hen activated. Also if you are like me and do not like that a certain game says demo/trial on the title, there are licence/unlock pkg files for almost all of those games. (They come with their own rap file, so don't forget to get them too). After you install those files, trial/demo words disappear.
Does CFW have on the fly licensing? I’m having a real hard time getting pkg games to use the licenses. Could you link me to a video if you have one for CFW?

Well guys I have a way to install games larger than 4gb (thanks to the earlier comments ) btw ( only ntfs flashdrives works )first install the irisman manager HENtai edition then open it then press the start button then open tools then go to file manager then open the ntfs flashdrive which is plugged to the rightmost USB port .go to the game PKG open it by pressing x and copy it to the iris man folder (just press ok to copy the game ) then congratulations after copying the game exit to xmb then go the package manager open psn folder and install the game from there (note keep the pendrive plugged in while the game is being installed don't remove it after copying )also format another pendrive to fat32 to keep your exdata . (Place the fat32 pendrive after the installation of the games) .if any questions plz feel free to ask so .
just transfer the pkg to hddO/packages with fillezila or another ftp then install it through package manager

If I wanted to do this with files larger than 4GB, would splitting the files with PS3splitter work with this method? Or would I have to put the broken up files into other folders and load them with mulitman like with your other tutorial. For example, can I split a file, place it to the root of the flash drive I'm using, and then use "install package file" then "standard" and install file; or would I have to place the broken up files into a game folder, then place the game folder into a GAMES folder on my flash drive and then use multiman to rebuild the file on the PS3, then go onto "install package file"..."standard"...?

If what you mean is installing pkg and rap from the NTFS drive, yes you can install the pkg from NTFS drive using prepare methods, but you need to copy the exdata folder to internal storage or smaller FAT32 drive,

just use file sills connect to your ps3 and put it in your dev_00/packages make sure not to put it in PKG but put it in the one labeled “packages”

First I want to thank you for your tutorials. Everything worked out just fine. I'm having a question regarding backing-up pkg. installed games. Can I somehow create an .iso file of the installed game and run it through webman? I somehow dislike that the game is displayed right in the menu and I would like to use webman folder structure that I like more. I did it with some of my CDs and now I'm curious if it's also working out with pkg installed games. Thank you for your work!
Use Multiman dude. It'll let you create ISO of an installed game, and extract a game from an ISO as well.

@@odinwingie3699 First you obviously need a Jailbroken PS3, with HEN installed. Then, enable HEN, and then open MultiMan. After loading in, go to the Games section, where you'll see your game (select Refresh if you don't see it). Below each game, there'll be some of these few icons: HDD, ISO, CD, DVD. Each of them denotes the location of that game. Simple press TRIANGLE and select CREATE ISO, choose a location and you're good to go. Conversely, you can extract an ISO, copy a game from one directory to the other, with the same procedure. Hope it helps.

Hey Mario, you've been really helpful, i have hen 3.0.1 and used filezilla to transfer some packages to /hdd0/packages along with their respective .rap file to /hdd0/exdata, after that installed them. Thing is, that doesn't really work, when I launch the game it just says something about PSN content, dont know the details, but pretty much i dont have a license. Any ideas why ?

Edit: I figured out what to do. You have to active your account preferably a throwaway account just in case you get banned then go offline and activate hen and just play ur games. Also u don’t need the usb stick if u transfer the raps to ur hdd exdata folder through ftp and u are good.

Make sure you activated your system under Account Management after installing HEN
what worked for me assuming you have correct rap file and multiman installed. my PS3 wouldn't recognize exdata on the usb evidently and wasn't copying the rap file over and maybe I wasn't doing something right either IM a noob IDK lol anyhow......so i MANUALLY copied the RAP file to exdata folder located at dev_hdd0/exdata so simply ENABLE HEN then go to MULTIMAN then to FILE MANAGER then to PS3 ROOT(also you can click on your usb stick and now copy your rap file from where you have it saved and just use left directional pad to back out) and then dev_hdd0 and then paste your RAP file to exdata folder located inside dev_hdd0. after that if license and game coincide you should be in good shape.......hope this helps.
You have wrong rap filename.
1. you need .rap instead of .RAP
2. Some .RAPs has incorrect name. In my case i got GTA V rap file: "EP1004-NPEB01283_00-DFE911377560D0A1" instead of "EP1004-NPEB01283_00-GTAVDIGITALDOWNL.rap" and the same problem in mortal kombat so look carefully to letters after _00- in filename ;)
