tip for speeding up the MD5 check: copy the output from the MD5 file checksum, then press CTRL + F on the PSX Place site, then paste the output. If the entire MD5 is highlighted on the site, you're good to go.

They update at minimum yearly and will continue to do so as long as they want to support Blu-ray movie support on it. Each year is to update AACS keys at minimum

Some tips that might help someone: If you’re installing from safe mode and it says it cannot find the update on your USB.. make sure to please start and select, the disconnect your controller cable from the controller while it’s checking.
I just uninstalled HEN 3.0.0 to do a full re-install and out of all of the HEN vids out there, you're the only channel (even in my native language) that put links to the official sources of the packages. Sure, other well respected youtubers put compiled packages for our disposal but knowing who're behind the amazing stuff is a great idea, for example, the MD5 hash check should be the norm and not everyone does that. Thanks again, dude!
Fantastic tutorial and fantastic tools. I am shocked it all worked first time. My PS3 disk drive stopped reading my disks so my PS3 was useless. This has made my PS3 a useful console again. Thanks for all the hard work.
It worked perfectly, thank you for this excellent tutorial! I only had a small problem during the Hen auto-installer portion. I got an error message saying “HEN Failure! Restart PS3 and retry!” After restarting the PS3 a few times I still got the same message, so instead of restarting again, I just quit the browser and went back on the auto installer and tried again. That time it worked as intended! It’s the second time I’m following one of your tutorials for the PS3Hen install (watched an older one) because I stupidly dropped the previous PS3 on which it was installed and broke it. I’m glad that the installation worked again on my new PS3 :)

It's not useless. It was made with a very specific and thought out design philosophy from the get go. That philosophy, of course, being them wanting to restrict you from doing as you please with an 18 year old system that hasn't had any sort of physical release for nearly 10 years now. Thanks, Sony! And no, LRG doesn't count as those are a grift and not real thought out releases meant to actually be played.
What do I do if I press enable hen and then it freezes after a short while. It will say on the top right corner that hen is enabled and webman mod is enabled

To anyone running into issues despite being positive you followed the steps exactly, most likely all you have to do is unplug the controller. And if that doesn't work, unplug your USB. Every single roadblock I ran into along the way was solved by just unplugging something lol--even my system repeatedly crashing on installing HEN. Thanks for the in-depth and clean tutorial Mario!

I really needed this. I have a Launch model PS3 that I jailbroke myself and loaded up with a bunch of goodies, but it sadly runs way too hot for my liking, and the CFW fan settings just ramp the fan up to almost max after a 10-15 minutes. I have a stock Super Slim PS3 that I made my main PS3 after I "retired" the Fat PS3 until I can get some new thermal paste, and I'm now planning on installing HEN on it thanks to this video.
@@StarmenRockit’s good but the money you start filling up the hard drive it gets extremely slow😢 I had to change mine ps3 to a 1.6 tb sata hybrid drive as it fits the PS3 Sata connector, it feels much better especially having that extra 300gb of space, you end up with 1.3tb of space😅

Not sure if others have mentioned it but eject if any game disc is inserted. Also, some seem to need to disconnect the USB of the controller while it's checking for firmware.

You just saved my life! I updated multimanMOD and out of nowhere my hen enabler disappeared. I was running 4.85 since I haven't touched my ps3 for a long time. Well, I needed the update anyway! Well deserved new sub ❤
didnt work for me, althoug the ps3 recognize the pendrive, it keep showing me "non aplicable...." when i tried to update. I have a superslim cech 421A (that one without HD but i've put one 500gb hdd in it)
@@Lifetime10154 it will jump from the 30lish to 100% so fast that you will think its wrong but it isnt. Do the safe mode install twice (both will jumps from 20-30 percent to 100) and then proceed to install hen that will work.
There is a strange problem with the superslim, the update doesn't appear in the XMB, in recovery mode it theoretically installs normally. However, during HEN installation, initialization goes through successfully, but the installation fails. An error occurs: Hen Failure. Restart PS3 and retry.
@@MrMario2011I did it like this, on my private Slim everything went smoothly, I even skipped minor points and still it works. I did it with superslim a few times. I tested all ways of installing hena even offline and nothing, every time Hen Failure! Restart PS3 and retry. Is it possible that HFW is not installing correctly? HFW update only appears in recovery mode.

It turns out I had the wrong link. But the exploit always fails. I follow all the instructions- set homepage to blank and close the brower and try again but it keeps saying "string not found at...." in the log.
When i try to install I get the "No applicable update data was found" but the PS3 does recognize I plugged in a storage device. I formatted to FAT32 etc, the MD5 is correct, I'm not sure why it says it.
if it still happens to you try this, press start and select at the same time then remove the charger from the controller instantly. (USB must be still in the ps3)
Need help please, I've installed hen, start it up, and when I try to install multiman or any other app, it goes black. I can't install webmod, so I can't do the fan fix thing. Did I miss something or what else do I need to do? This is all on 4.91 PS3 slim.

You will need to follow the steps to install HEN again after you install a new hard drive. Install the hfw update only if prompted for a firmware update.
Do I have to do the soft reboot with a ps3 controller? Cuz I only got ps5 ones and I can’t activate primary, it says error and I can’t start a game. Even copyright issues and licence issues. Sadly

Disconnect hdd for a moment and plug it back again. It worked for me.

I had to change mine ps3 to a 1.6 tb sata hybrid drive as it fits the PS3 Sata connector, it feels much better especially having that extra 300gb of space, you end up with 1.3tb of space😅

Hi. around 15:55 mine says "No applicable data was found" and I have no idea why. Everything has worked so far and I tried putting the hard drive in a different slot and nothing. Please help me if you can.

@@Lifetime10154 it will jump from the 30lish to 100% so fast that you will think its wrong but it isnt. Do the safe mode install twice (both will jumps from 20-30 percent to 100) and then proceed to install hen that will work.
There is a strange problem with the superslim, the update doesn't appear in the XMB, in recovery mode it theoretically installs normally. However, during HEN installation, initialization goes through successfully, but the installation fails. An error occurs: Hen Failure. Restart PS3 and retry.
and yeah, restarting PS3 do nothing
Covered the recommendations to successfully install it in the video, it will eventually take.
@@MrMario2011I did it like this, on my private Slim everything went smoothly, I even skipped minor points and still it works. I did it with superslim a few times. I tested all ways of installing hena even offline and nothing, every time Hen Failure! Restart PS3 and retry. Is it possible that HFW is not installing correctly? HFW update only appears in recovery mode.

It turns out I had the wrong link. But the exploit always fails. I follow all the instructions- set homepage to blank and close the brower and try again but it keeps saying "string not found at...." in the log.

When i try to install I get the "No applicable update data was found" but the PS3 does recognize I plugged in a storage device. I formatted to FAT32 etc, the MD5 is correct, I'm not sure why it says it.

if it still happens to you try this, press start and select at the same time then remove the charger from the controller instantly. (USB must be still in the ps3)

Ive done it successfully, but because HDD crashes sometimes I want to do a full format on system restore. Are there any perquisites after the HEN instalation or it is safe to do it right away? Also what will be the system software vrsion after the format? Do I have to install the ipdate 2 times as before? Thank you for your answer
You will need to follow the steps to install HEN again after you install a new hard drive. Install the hfw update only if prompted for a firmware update.
