You are" Mr Cannon M50 with kit len 15-45 mm Master " !
I have always wondered how you did your setup. The blue led is magical. Its mindblowing how that changed the scene massively. Thank you for sharing these tips.
This was the eye opener I had last year making videos. I went from a single overhead recessed light and trying to use a desk lamp to using a softbox and framing myself correctly. It's incredible how different the video quality is when you have decent lighting and camera focus, hah.
INSANELY Good. You've blown my mind. I had no idea it was possible to go from grainy awful footage to expertly sharp and well defined hq video from lighting alone. I realise I don't even need to change my camera at this rate. Or even get overly.expensive lights. Well done !
Thank you! I love helping people save money.
Dollar lamps with color shade taped on, genius! I love this video thank you for posting
The blue looks good with the other colored lights
You’re so thorough in everything you teach- I really appreciate your style. You’ve helped me a TON with my M50...looking forward to playing with some lights🤩 Thanks a lot~
Glad it helps! Lighting is so fun when you get into it.
I don't understand why people had to dislike so much for this one. I think it's because of the bad scenes in the beginning and they were not patient enough to wait until the end to see a nice one.
I literally followed every single pro tip and setting for M50 and I'm really satisfied with the videos I'm producing. You are amazing and you share every secret to make videos look better and even many pro and large-scale filmography RUclipsrs were not helpful because they don't guide you the whole thing step-by-step straightforward. You are really amazing and I appreciate all the content you made.
Not sure either. Though interestingly enough 7 of them are no longer there.
@@TheCrowleyCrew Oh that's weird haha but I bet they changed to likes!
Great tips dude
Thanks Cody! Got any time next week?
Absolute brilliance, what a way to tell a story - both practically and visually. Mind-blowing transformation
Finally find some ideas to enhance my video lighting nextime. Thanks for sharing!
I think its amazing how you brought up the key detail of how lighting keeps peoples attention on you! Definitely A Trade Secret.
This guy is the only one I’ve seen doing great succinct videos that give you the tips you need without the fluff. Seriously... right to it. Thanks for the great content, man.
Thank you! Though I will warn you that many of my videos have their share of fluff.
The Crowley Crew I’m a semi-regular on your channel. It hasn’t been too much to ever turn me away yet ;)
That’s good to hear. I have been trying to not go off the rails to much, especially in the more recent content.
Dude... your videos are so helpful. Keep doing what you're doing. New to creating RUclips content, have no idea what I'm doing and people like me need people like you. THANK YOU!
That change from first scene to the final result was crazy dude
Yeah, it went from amateur to straight pro with just a couple lights. Crazy!
you are one of the best youtubers I have ever came across! You are the prime example of using what you have! Keep doing what you do best!
This is the first video I’ve seen with actually tips on lighting and not just buy this and that. Thank you! Great video
This is absolutely one of my favorite cinematography 'how to's' (and, by now, I've watched a lot of them). Great, practical ideas. Clearly explained-- Even better, you did a beautiful job of showing the difference each technique made. And, you did something people don't do enough-- you shared numbers. And your suggestions are eminently do-able!
this is the greatest video on lighting ive ever seen!!!!. Simple , precise and done so well. Thank you. So glad I found you. Ypu're awesome
Thank you!
I really needed this video! Thank you. Just got the m50 and couple dimmable bi-color lights and I've been experimenting to get the right look without having to do too much work in post. The ideas shared here are super helpful
Wow, this video just answered a question I've been struggling with for a while. I have the Canon M50 and I hated my video quality. I will act on these tips, thank you very much
Did my first “studio” lightning for one of my videos a few weeks ago and I def need to work on my lighting placement and the space I’m shooting in. Good tips as always man.
Helpful dude.
Love from India bro.
You sounded American until you pronounce any word with "R" . I smiled
Very helpful! Thank you man. Gonna apply these in my future videos when I got my own studio. Liked!
Having a shadow side of the face is a creative choice
True.
Don't ever stop being a youtuber. You make awesome videos. very informative. thank you
finally a true tutorial which does not assume i have 1K USD light THUMBS UP MAN
Your videos convinced me to buy a Canon M50 :) Appreciate the lighting tips
Glad it’s helpful!
Ah be kardes...
Becker's Rs yup, shooting some videos with the M50, though I only have 2 lights with soft boxes. I am looking forward to buy me some color background lights he he
Oytun Yalçın aksi kanal a bi bak;)
GREAT video! Love the progression!! I’m taking notes as always! Thank you!
Yep, definitely a great video. Got my first LED light coming in about a week. Can't wait to try it out!
Wow you're helping me right now with my M50 after more than 1 year of using it. Let's light up! 🙂🙏
Very cool that you're using a screw-in LED light in the softbox - thanks for that tip! It answered a big question for me - what light to put in my softbox without spending a bundle on an LED panel or expensive "pro" light. Gracias! Also, putting a blue light behind you made a startling improvement.
That is awesome... I have enjoyed your lighting in every video you have done.... But man it makes a huge difference when you flip the blue light on.. Will have to do it in my filming.. Ty
Thanks for the tips! Definitely need them since most of my videos are indoors. Can't really get any proper mini LEDs here and tariffs for import are insane, but those are mostly excuses. Improving my lighting is definitely up there on my to do list once I'm done with my finals. Great video again!
You can do a lot of the stuff with a cheaper work light. Would it be easier to get something like that?
I hesitated for so long to get a canon M50 and I was wondering what was missing so I wouldn't regret the buy, and it was the lighting. Great video, gonna watch all of them on the tips haha
Thanks for sharing 👍 I just bounced my light off the camera abd it's so great
I was about to purchase a prime lens for low light scenes, but then i watched your video. Thank you so much, i watched like 1000 videos but i didnt find information with the lens that you are using.
Most of my videos including this one are shot with the 15-45mm kit lens.
Dude you rock. Excellent video as always.
I can fit 2 mini LEDs and one Lumcube in my camera bag. That way I always have a main, a fill and a hair light, with me.
Also, nifty fifty +Viltrox speed booster =f1.2! WOOT!
Love your channel.
You did really good explaining thank you!
Thank you for a detailed explanation. It all makes sense now. 👏🏼 Now I want to try make a video in a low-light situation. 🙏🏼
Awesome! Make sure you have time when you start. Lighting is really fun and can eat up an hour easily.
I just tried f/3.5 ISO 200 Shutter 1/50 on camera mode... jesus christ, that ubgraded my video quality by SO MUCH! You are the GOAT!
Love the tips! I was scared for a moment that I got the wrong camera but I just need to up my lighting game
Awesome tips man! 🤘
thank you!
Yes! Was hoping for this and you did not disappoint. Great job! I'll be using your link to buy that little LED.
Thanks! Glad I didn’t disappoint! 👍👊
thankyou bro.. from Indonesia..
Awesome. Very well done in this video. I have also been amping up my lighting a lot but without expensive studio lights.
Nice! That’s one reason I wanted to show you can use a tiny led light too.
Thanks bro, it was really nice video, straight to the point and very useful information.
Another great video. Thanks for the helpful tips as always.
Thanks Brian!
Thank u thank u thank u helps a lot working hard on my horror/comedy channel 🤟
Excellent timing.
I currently have a couple of LED rings. I guess it’s time for a box light. The background colors are genius. My background is interesting but I think I want it to kind of fade into the background.
Btw. You’re the only channel I have alerts for. Loving your content. I joined nosmallcreators.
Thank you! Notifications-squad is the best! If you haven’t seen him DSLR Video Shooter is a great resolution for lighting.
Brilliantly explained mate!
Thanks
Great stuff man.
Thank you @coplay
this video is great thanks for sharing your knowledge bro❣❤
great video buddy. it's amazing what you can do with lighting! certainly helping me get the best out of this m50. cheers
To diffuse the soft box light it may be better to use white backing paper. It is more transparent than normal paper and if the light bulb gets really hot, it doesn't catch fire. Great video. I would be interest to watch a video on how to make skin look better on camera. I tried so many things already and I am still not satisfied with the result.
Great video! Thanks for the tips. I just ordered an M50 used and have some Aputure MC lights. I have to try your diffusion techniques!
Awesome!
Wow I watched several of your videos just then on M50 and found them all super useful as I recently purchased this camera to take my video recording for the RUclips channel to the next level.
I feel that my next investment will be in lights!
Super helpful thanks!!
You rock, brother! Thanks for the tips! I'll try this for my Samsung S20 Ultra vs Note 10+ video next week.
Love this channel. Thank you for the great videos.
Thank you!
Well done. Been subd for awhile. I just picked up the sigma 1.4 16mm EF-M. I know it’s expensive, but it’s not even as much as the camera. I think it’s a reasonable cost to buy a lense that’s around the same cost as your camera to get an amazing low light and shallow depth of field lense. Please consider buying it and using in videos. Anyways, keep up the good work man.
I have been wanting that one for a while. Planning on getting it this year.
This video is so helpful and you delivered it perfectly. Thanks 🙏
Your videos are so helpful! Thank you :)
Happy to help!
Great video! Thanks for the helpful tips.
Thanks man!
Great video! Super helpful tips!
You are amazing, brother. Had to subscribe!! You are going to blow up on RUclips! 🤘😁 - Kevin Venture
Great lighting tutorial!
Thanks John.
Thanl you! Excellent video!
I have one of the best lighting and my footages still doesn’t look nice. And I have one of the best camera and light.... The Neewer ring light and the canon Eos M50 ... please give me a personal step by step. What to do? Please help me. And thank you so much!
Thank you man.
here for the content, fan of the accent
Great video. I do a lot of green screen on my channel but am working on building out another wall in my studio/office.
To be honest, I actually prefer my lighting to be a bit harsher than so soft you lose detail. RUclips compression wonkyness has made me appreciate my Sunpak LED's from Best Buy...
I'm still transitioning though from Green Screen and enjoyed this a lot.
Cool. I act would love to learn green screen at some point.
Style is definitely something to think about. I like the classic Rembrandt but definitely harsh light important to know too. I should actually put effort into learning that.
@@TheCrowleyCrew Green screening basics are easy! Use 3 point lighting, key light, fill light, and then backlight the green screen. Make sure you illuminate the green screen as evenly as possible for the best effect. If you have a hair light/backlight your subjects will look better.
Green screen fabric nearly covered an entire wall for me for $13 bucks. I didn't buy a stand for it, rather I used push pins to stretch it out over my wall. Stretch it out good as wrinkles can ruin the green screen effect.
Anyways, keep up the good work. I love your content.
very helpful tip
Perfect!! Thnx a lot mán 🙏🙏🙏love your channel! Please keep going...
Thank you!
Love this!
do you use the Canon EF-M 22mm f2 for this type of video and if yes, how far you should be away from the lens to get face + torso in the canvas? thanks
I use the 15-45mm for the majority of my studio shots. If I’m not I am using a manual Tamron 28mm f2.5 with the speed booster. To get that shot with the 22mm though you probably need about 2 1/2 feet from you to the camera. It does work good, but in my space I can’t get the camera far enough back.
Detail..!!! Thank you!
🔥👊
Great video 👍🏾
Wow
This video was really good like thank you
Great tips! Thanks :)
This is amazing ❤️
Another great content! 👏🏼
Thank you!
Thank you
what a great video!
Thanks alot 👍
Nice video man! Inspired me a lot! Done Subscribe
Hahahaha at first without adjustments, it looked so funny so bad... :D :D :D.
I need someone to do a video on the canon m50 specifically for childbirth videos lol. Filming a birth is usually in low light settings. Soft/ warm light is important and I can’t bring much light with me.
There he is. This is why we followed you bro. #M50guilty
Thanks for the great tips! Are you shooting in 4k or 1080?
Thank you. I shoot all my stuff in 1080p.
Nice one. I have a question. If we shoot a video in manual mode M we are able to adjust exposure. If we shoot in video mode M the exposure cannot be set. I m confused. I am not sure whether I am able to explain you or not.
Check out my newest video. I show how to turn it to manual Movie Mode.
What lens are you using on your m50? Great video btw
The kit lens on the M50.
Hey brother! I tried buying through your affiliate link for the softbox and the stand but the link doesn't work anymore. Can you please send me a working link of all the lighting equipment you used to make the m50 video look professional?
Hi, what's the wireless mic you were using? Thanks
I was using an older budget model. I’d go with a Rode Wireless Go if I was buying today.
The m50 videoautofocus looses me if i am further away from the camera. Why?
what do you use for your gels? (the blue filter for your yn300?)
I just got cheap ones on Amazon. Just make sure they’re rated for continuous light and not flashes.
Great vid bro..
Thank you!
