Goodjob explaining how to adjust this. I just got this WGA for my evo x
best quick precise video. SUBSCRIBED
Great video! helped me a lot
You the man!
Great!! More simple explanation, but I'm still confused. I just purchased your actuator for my 96 Volvo 850T5. IPD says that on the original actuator found on the car, you pump 1.8 psi into the actuator and then adjust and install the rod over the wastegate. Am I accomplishing the same thing with your method? I have model #FMACT5S. Should I pump air into yours, and if so, how much PSI?
To give you better help with your query please can you email our resident expert at Forge! - John@forgemotorsport.co.uk
What if you running stg2 tune,about 18psi
I been looking and every video shows the same 3 turns method,is this correct?
I have the same wastegate with the blue spring
Thank!
I ordered a new actuator for the fiesta 1.5 and my new one if I close the wastegate and adjust mine there’s not enough thread like bar on the copy one is slightly shorter could do with a longer end bit to screw on to allow me to set it up right
Hi, could you please email us at media@forgemotorsport.co.uk with the product code of our actuator and we'd be happy to help. If you could also send a picture of the actuator with a ruler or tape measure next to the rod so we can check the length :)
Thanks!
Nice video! i have a little issue with my Td04-19t on my saab 9-3. In 2nd and 3rd gear it does have 1.6 bar all the way up to redline (sometimes rarely it holds 0.5 bar when i floor it wich is base boost pressure) Yesterday i went for a top speed run and a 60-120 test but in 4th and 5th gear in high rpms is only has max 0.5 bar. Barely could get to 120 with 330hp at the crank. My previous setup had a T25 widh about 240hp which got to 150 mph and ideas? I have a heavy duty forge wastegate with a 0.8bar spring in it
Hi! Please email our actuator specialist John with all of this info, he will then be able to look at a solution to the issue you are seeing. john@forgemotorsport.co.uk Thanks.
@@forgemotorsport Thanks, did but he is on holiday until 9th august :(
@@Grandpasaab Hello! Try jamie@forgemotorsport.co.uk instead and he should be able to assist :)
Did you ever get this figured out I'm have a similar issue.
hello sir, I watched your video about adjusting the actuator, I have an astra g z20let, 140kw, 2001, since the nut on the actuator came loose, I don't know how to return the actuator to the factory setting, how much pressure and how to adjust, I would be very grateful if you could you helped me how to set up,
Do you have a product code for the actuator so we can refer to the correct one to give you some advice? :)

on my waste gate it has 2 vacume ports a front and a back one you go from the turbo to the front or back one of the acuator
Hi Brizzle, if you're looking for an actuator upgrade or need further support with your actuator feel free to send us an email on - info@forgemotorsport.co.uk
Can the pre-load be adjusted to cut down on boost spikes?
If the preload is being applied as described in the video clip then boost spikes cannot related to this aspect of actuator tuning, the only way preload would possibly contribute to what is described as spiking would be if too much preload has been applied preventing the wastegate from opening effectively to bleed off boost pressure, boost pressure bleed of course being the primary function of the turbo actuator - potential scenarios/explanations will vary depending on the model and any tuning that may have been carried out :)
Now I just have to get my fat hands into the very tight space and adjust a tiny component and tighten it with a wrench in which there's little room to maneuver it.
Unfortunately that's working on cars for you, we also wish it could be easier!! 😂
So you didn't do any preload on the sping do you?
No, but we do offer spring tuning kits on our website - www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/Spring_Tuning_Kit_for_Turbo_Actuators--product--132.html :)
I have a different brand turbo but I have to pull hard with pliers on the actuator to get it back on the gate. I havent adjusted it at all, came like that from factory.
What would happen if the preload is too high?
boost spike
@@pigeonsil240sxthat's bad? Can that damage the engine /turbo?
Would this be the correct set up for a focus st 2.5 2008 ? Standard mapping
Yes! The only difference would be spring strength on the actuator depending on which one you get, but the pre-load is the same :)
Does the turbo need to be removed from the engine bay to install one of these on the st225? Thanks
We have instructions for instalment available on the website listing of your chosen actuator :)
My new turbo was not shut? It is slightly open? Why?
Unfortunately as we do not manufacture turbos we are not able to advise why this may be, we would suggest contacting the turbo/vehicle manufacturer!
is it same for mk5 1.9tdi bls engine?
Yes this is the same, though we do not offer an actuator for this vehicle type anymore as it was discontinued around 7 years ago!
What do I do if my turn buckle cannot be tightened/turned in anymore? I want to turn up my boost before a retune but I’ve noticed my turn buckle cannot be screwed in anymore
get a better wastegate with different springs for boost pressure.
If you have one of our Forge actuators we can look at supplying you with a shorter shaft, this will then allow for further adjustment on the turnbuckle. Please email info@forgemotorsport.co.uk for further assistance.
if the wastegate isnt there you wont get any boost at all... unless you meant that theres no wastegate port aswell?
Hello, If there was no wastegate, i.e there was no port for wasted gases, ultimately you would get as much boost as the turbo would be able to provide. Alternatively, if there was no wastegate flap, but a hole in position to exhaust the gases, you are correct, no boost will be produced :)
does this apply to having a higher lb-spring (yellow spring) installed?
Hi Brandon, for our actuators the method would be applicable for all of our spring ratings/colour options.
I hope this helps
Yes sir it does thank you , also a video setting up a k03/k04 actuator for say the vw with the rod and nuts would be awesome as some things do not transfer over like you say they do as there is no eyelet to slide over , but I'll probably just bring my turbo and actuator to the forge shop in Orlando as it's right down the road from me and have them show me .
Not exact for my subaru forge wastegate. its almost like the arm is actually a little short.
Hello, sorry for our delayed response.
I am sorry for this issue, if you are having difficulty fitting the actuator could you please send a picture of your Forge actuator and original actual to info@forgemotorsport.co.uk along with a description of the issue and we will be able to help you.
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
Do you have one for a m135i ?
Do you know further model details? We have products for the BMW135i but will need more clarification :) Alternatively on our website you can navigate using the vehicles tab and click through your model vehicle - www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/
Is this applicable for all cars?)
Yes this would be applicable for the majority of applications, we always advise that you seek the specific manufacturers guidelines for set-up if you are unsure.
@@forgemotorsport thanks a lot man.. I really appreciate your advice
Only for Wastegate applications. If you own a turbo with (lets say) a VNT mechanism (which might look quite the same) - dont do anything or you could blow something up. :D
