- Do white cameras overheat less than black cameras in the sun? In this video, I answer this question using the black and white Sony ZV-E1, a camera that's known for overheating issues while shooting 4k videos. The results were very surprising.

Great video A lot of cameras overheat when the lcd screen is placed fixed to the camera By opening the lcd screen as you did you are allowing air to circulate around the back of the camera and maybe lengthening the operation time
ZV1-M2 with a dummy battery is awesome too! Cheers! I also have a 1tb sd card with this little gem.
Very interesting findings, thanks for the video! Never even thought about this, lol.
Makes so much sense! It’s kind of like wearing all black versus all white on a hot summer day! This was great.
Good tip! I don't really plan on having a white camera, or even filming, but this is good to know! I always enjoy your videos! Thanks!
Nice experiment. Yes.. color makes a difference - the bigger, longer tele lenses are white because of the heat (expansion) reasons too.
that's awesome, thanks. i think the white one looks super cool too, pulling the trigger - sale on the internets right now that includes free 28-60 kit lens
So glad you're back! Great idea, interesting video! I love the white one
Now I would of never thought about the color of the camera for the overheating. I always thought that the darker camera would be more discrete. The White is more distracting and need silver lens to go with that. BTW was there any improvement in viewing the LCD screen in the daylight.
Yeah I forgot to turn up the brightness before I started recording
Good experiment, Thanks for making this video ❤
Interesting video nice one, Im thinking of switching to Sony from Canon
but there is so much choice now!? need help!!
A. a6700
B. ZV E1
C. FX30
What did you end up getting?
Thanks for the review. Was 4k/60 or 4k/120 recording mode used for the test?
No, just 4K 24. I never use 60 for longer format videos. And 120 is for slowmo only.
Wasn't expecting that! Cool!
Great video i had this same question.
It’s not a nonsense, that’s why normally the 70-200 from canon where all white, since the Color white can reflect more.
I recently filmed at 28c in direct sunlight outside at 4k50 and I overheated way before my black ZV-E1 showed any temperature warnings 😂
Your white one overheated first?
@@lifebreathe6988 I don't have a white one :)
Logical... but very interesting nonetheless!
this is genius. period.
✌️
YES
Canon makes their L series telephoto lenses white, for this reason.
That plant behind your head, makes you look like you have horns.
None of the reviewers every comment on this.
As a black man...yes. White cameras overheat less than black ones
Lol 🤣🤣🤣
obviously)
OVERHEAT LESS in direct sunlight, BLACK absorbs heat more BUT dissipates heat the fastest, so white cameras only have a direct sunlight advantage.
The first indoor test he did both perform the same?
ChatGPT: While a black camera may absorb more heat, it doesn't necessarily mean it will dissipate heat faster than a white camera.
keyboards also used to be white in old days which makes much more sense. you can see labels in low light near display much better. now it seams cameras should be white also, but most people are afraid to be out of line even that little
