Great review of showcasing both positives and negatives. No BS, which is greatly appreciated. I've been in the market and researching/considering multiple different safe options and companies to make my first big safe/locker purchase. I always kept coming back to SecurIt (this model specifically) and have been pretty dead set on that for the longest time. However, I DID NOT know this was actually manufactured in China, which is extremely disappointing and almost feel indirectly mislead. With how much the company seems to boast/take pride in the fact that they are the primary supplier for these storage devices for U.S. military contracts, it gives the impression that they are also made right here in the US too when you watch their videos. Like you said, there was no indication of that on the website and you didn't discover that until you had it in person. Thank you for bringing that to light and it will definitely be a huge new factor to reconsider for myself personally. Also, love the weyland corp plate. That's pretty sick.
Thank you so much, I’m really glad you enjoyed the video and the Alien placard too! I appreciate your thoughtful comment, and I completely agree with how you feel. Before I made such a big purchase, I spent a lot of time researching, including watching SecureIts long form Q&A RUclips videos. At no time did I ever suspect their products were made in China for the same reasons you expressed. Since then, the CEO of Secure-it has reached out to me, but I wasn’t sure how to respond exactly. I thought about making a follow-up video addressing it but I’ve been really busy with my new job. Below is the text of the email he sent me, so you can get a perspective of why they make their safes in China. I’ll leave it up to you to decide whether or not that is reason enough to buy their products. Also, if you know of any metal fabrication companies in the USA that would be able to handle their operation, feel free to reach out to the company. “Hello, I am the president and CEO of SecureIt Tactical. I enjoyed your video review of our Answer 12 gun safe. Regarding Made in China. I would love to move this to the USA. Making this in China is very expensive and shipping logistics has become very difficult. The big challenge is lack of manufacturing capability and capacity in the US. The average age of a press break men (metal bender) in the US is 59. The average for machinists is about 60. It is a real challenge. there are no young people going into these fields. It is my fear that in 5-10 years most of our metal manufacturing capability will be gone. If you are aware of any metal fabrication businesses that could handle our capacity and quality standards, please forward me the information and we will explore the opportunity. I started this company in an apartment and built it over 20 years. I do not have a college degree. I work hard to encourage your adults to pursue trades and skills. It has become very difficult. The guidance departments at most schools will not allow people like to to speak the students about the benefits of trades and skilled labor. They are so focused on "every kid most go to college" It's crazy! please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any thoughts or questions. I am hoping we can turn US manufacturing around. Thanks again and Best regards, Tom Kubiniec President CEO SecureIt” The email is exactly as was sent to me via my website, grammatical errors and all. The only exception is that I removed his cell phone number because I’m not sure if that was his personal one or not.
Thank you so much! When at all possible I try very hard to buy American made. Sadly, Secure-It fooled me, but at least others will know the truth moving forward. Welcome to my humble channel and taking the time to comment.
A bit disappointing that this safe isn't American-made. I'm not sure the price is fully justified knowing it is made in China, but it is very nice and packed with features. Still something to consider. Thanks for making this video.
I absolutely agree and you are very welcome! If I need another safe/cabinet I plan on going with Gallowtech - they offer something similar in price and features but theirs are made in USA 🇺🇸
WOW! I was going to order one today until I heard made in China. Me and my wife were measuring where we were going to put it yesterday and had settled on this one. That’s something the company don’t announce, MADE IN CHINA, what a shame. I’ll be going with Gallow Tech. Thank you for your honesty in the video!
Yeah I was shocked when I discovered it. I think if they were upfront about it at least people could make a decision instead of being surprised when it arrives. I just emailed Gallowtech myself about one of their cabinets, the shipping is pretty steep but that’s how it goes these days. I’m glad you enjoyed the video and were able to find something American made that suits your needs.
you hit the nail on the head on the review, i feel pretty muich teh same baout mine. im still glad i have it. I realkly like it and double doors makes it easier to fit a larger safe/cabinet in a smaller room (big swinging door is combersome in small rooms lol) this was about the only one i looked at with the double doors and i was ina a cabin at the time and was basically a must.... if im not mistaken, securit has panels you can installke other gun safes the same layout type too. i reason i went with this instead of a normal safe was most normal safes are full of drywall and simulate weight, wheres if you bolt it down doesnt matter how heavy it is. most safes have a poor fire rating till you get into the mega high thousands of dollars... how was the clearnace on your door? mine wobbled back and fourth a bit i got some credit back to me from the comapny becasue of this and all i did was get some adhesive marine door sealer astrips from the hardware and lined the doors.great review!
Thank you! Despite my disappointment to discover, upon receipt, that it was made in China, the gun cabinet has served me well thus far with only a few minor issues. With that being said, I will not buy another cabinet from Secure-it in the future when Gallowtech offers an American made option with similar features and pricing. You are correct, Secure-it makes panels that you can retrofit a traditional safe with, which is pretty clever. While I do love the double doors, they clanked together which annoyed me too. My solution was to use the soft side of Velcro and add small strips around the seam of the doors. I cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol of course before installation. One thing I noticed is if you add too many strips it can make it difficult to shut the doors, but after some trial and error I got it dialed. A few months ago I was having a very difficult time opening and closing the door mechanism and the handle felt like it might break under so much pressure. I spent a long time trying to figure it out, even considered that the mechanism had broke or something got lodge inside somehow. Just before I was about to give up and call customer service, I had an idea. What I ended up doing was adding gun grease to the surface of the locking bars that move in and out of the main door and sure enough it is buttery smooth now. I’ve never had to do that on any other traditional safe I’ve owned, but it was an easy fix once I realized what was going on. Ultimately, I enjoy the safe and I would agree, traditional safes fire ratings are likely not going to cut it in an inferno.
Delivery was fine, I convinced the delivery guys to bring it inside even though it technically was just a curbside delivery. I had a couple guy friends move the safe for me, but it didn’t seem too bad for them.
It comes assembled. All you have to do is take the metal shipping feet off and then decide how you want to organize the shelves and other interior accessories.
Awesome job with this review. You honestly have one of the nicest setups ive seen on the tube. You gave me so many ideas and inspiration for my own cluttered safe. I like your video editing and transitions. Keeping your review under 6 mins was perfect for an ADHD individual like myself lol. Thanks again!
Thank you, I really appreciate it. When you’ve got so much gear, it’s really hard to organize it all. I do love the organization this safe allows, and I believe they sell a retro-fit option if you already have a traditional safe.
@@Adrenaline89Junky Yes, there is unfortunately. I ended up adding felt pads (the ones you use on the bottom of furniture to prevent scratching the floor) to the back of the doors, anywhere I thought it would help with the extra play. Sometimes it was almost too thick to close the doors, so I would cut it down a bit with scissors. It took me a while to perfect the fit. Perhaps soft sided Velcro would work too, I just happened to have the felt pads on hand. This has held up well for me, just make sure you clean the surface before sticking anything, rubbing alcohol worked for me. It was kinda disappointing having to go through all that after paying so much for the safe, but it is a relatively easy fix and you’ll enjoy the safe much more for having addressed the clattering doors. Hope that helps yah!
@@ShortStackSurvival well, I guess it seems like that's the design. They actually reached out and said that's how it's supposed to be. I'll definitely be doing what you did though. Weird that they would design them like this. Thanks for the quick response! Take care
@@Adrenaline89Junky It’s nice they reached out to you, at least yah know it’s not a flaw. I definitely think you’ll be happier adding the pads though. Good luck and thanks for commenting!
Thank you! I really want to get a Gallow Tech cabinet in the future, they look badass and USA made is my jam. I will say the SecureIt safe has been holding up well for me, but every time I look at it I think C-H-I-N-A and get annoyed lol.
The cabinet is about 37 inches deep with the doors open. Just the cabinet itself is approx. 19.5 inches deep at the widest point (including door hinges) with doors closed. Sorry it took a while to get back to you, I’ve been working and didn’t have time to measure it at the time.
Thank you! Yes, I would have to agree with you there. If I had to do it over again I’d probably buy a GallowTech cabinet instead. In all the RUclips reviews I watched, I wish someone would have mentioned they are made in China. At least now I can share that information with other prospective buyers. I thought that premium price was due to it being USA made. Alas, fool me once. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
I just bought an Answer 12 earlier today and found your video afterward. I also assumed these were made in the US. That's disappointing. What are your thoughts on the locking mechanism itself? Is it solid? Is the lock UL listed? I can't find a single video about the lock. I also can't find a video where they attempt a forced entry.
Hey, thanks for asking all these great questions. I’ll answer what I can and then dig into finding out the other answers later when I’m not at work. First of all, I’m sorry that you were bamboozled into thinking this was an American made safe, it really sucks. If I had to do it over again I’d consider buying a GallowTech gun cabinet which is USA made. As for the lock, I don’t know the specific specs on it but it does seem to be sturdy enough to keep honest people out and give criminals a little work before they gain access. In my opinion, the lock is not the weakest link, it would be the gauge of steel used in the cabinet. Anyone with a power saw could get into this cabinet. If you are looking for a super hardened gun safe, this is definitely not it. I just wanted a safe that had a decent capacity and kept the guns relatively secure. I hope that helps you for now, and like I said I’ll try to see if I can find the specs to the lock when I get home.
@@ShortStackSurvival Thanks for the reply! I'm honestly more concerned about keeping kids out and keeping things organized than I am about a potential burglary. I live in Idaho and work from home. Home invasions are pretty minimal here, but inquisitive kids are always a concern.
@@bennykins210 No problem! Yeah, that was definitely my concern too, I figure if someone broke into my house and then managed to find the safe, they are likely going to have a bad day anyways. Just wanna keep the kids safe mostly.
Just wanted to make sure I reached out to you and let you know I wasn’t able to find if the Answer 12 lock is UL listed or not. I did find a little informational PDF on the SecureRam digital interface here ->securamsys.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/SafeLogic-Basic-Data-Sheet-SureLock.pdf If you end up finding any more information about the lock, feel free to add it to the comments for other viewers if you’d like.
Great non-biased review. Everything is made in China these days, and even those products assembled in the U.S. are still using Chinese parts. I’m over it. Purchasing this safe for the value and storage capacity.
That’s a great question. I would probably consider getting the Gallowtech cabinet instead considering it’s about the same price and made in the USA. If SecureIt has features that you absolute need/want then you would likely be happy with it. Now that I have it installed and use it all the time I like it, but the made in China 🇨🇳 still bugs me. If you’re like me and buying USA is a priority, I’d look elsewhere. Nice setup i have the same safe, 2 questions, did u remove the metal stands it was shipped w/ and how did u use anything to make the magnets stick on the side of the safe or did the magnets hold itself? Definitely want to get those magnets for mags in my safe.
Thank you ! Yes, I did remove the metal stands. The instructions indicated they are for shipping only, but honestly they are so sturdy I could see why some people chose to keep them on. My reasoning for removing was 1.) I have a concrete foundation and wanted to bolt the safe to the floor and 2.) I wanted to store items on top and it would have been too tall for me with the metal stands. As for the magnets, I cleaned the area with rubbing alcohol and used Scotch Extreme Duty double-sided mounting tape with a 30lb rating. So it would properly adhere I left it alone for a day or two and it works great. The magnets themselves are the rubberized ones meant for hiding a pistol under a desk or something of that nature. I hope that helps!

@@ShortStackSurvival SecureIt sells magnetic lights that are rechargeable and can be switched between white and red light settings to preserve night vision and so you don't blind yourself if you open it at night. They are motion activated, probably 2 SecureIt bar lights would work for a safe/cabinet that size.
@@cbbees1468 Thanks for the heads up! I don’t think they had those available when I purchased mine, or maybe I just didn’t see them. Either way, I’d highly recommend some sort of lighting solution for any gun cabinet/safe people have.
Genuine question. If you buy a product, and it is built well and performs well. Why does it's place of origin matter to you personally? (For anything, not just secureit) I've worked retail before and come across customers with this mindset every blue moon but with the majority of things on store shelves nation wide being some sort of Asian origin, I've never understood the fuss.
It’s just my personal preference to support American made products, which in turn supports American companies and workers. If a USA option exists, I often will purchase that item over something made in China. In my experience, China rarely produces quality products and the perpetual cycle of replacing subpar items sucks. Furthermore, I’m not a fan of seeing my hard earned money line the pockets of corporations that exist in a country that does not value individual freedoms and liberty. With that said, sometimes the only option is of Chinese origin, in which case you just have to bite the bullet or go without. Ultimately, I just try to be conscientious about how I spend my money and who I choose to support or not.
@@ShortStackSurvival Thank you for responding! Do you know of a similar product to this that is American made? I like the concept of "One Arm, One Gun" compared to traditional safes but would not mind looking at alternatives. Even if it is just a beefy cabinet.
@@_SKDK_ You’re welcome! If I had to do it over again, I’d definitely consider the Gallowtech cabinets which are made in USA and look super bad-ass! Here is a link if you wanna check it out (non-affiliate) www.gallowtech.com/products/weapon-cabinets
Wow! I love your set up. I agree it's a great safe but why made in China? I just ordered the answer 8 pro and I thought it was made in the United States. Very disappointed. I hope the quality is good as they say it is...
Thank you! Yes, I was very disappointed when I received the safe and saw made in China on the box. I watched a bunch of RUclips videos prior to purchasing the Answer 12 Pro and not one single person mentioned it in their video. I even watched a couple Secure-It livestreams and all their videos and they always failed to mention it. Also the Secure-It website does a great job of hiding where they are made, as in they don’t specify it at all. Obviously they aren’t proud of the fact, but as a consumer I definitely felt like they should be more upfront about it. With all that said, I do like the safe and it works great for my needs. For how expensive they are though, they should absolutely be made in the USA. 🇺🇸 Ultimately, I think you’ll enjoy it and at least you know for future purchases what you are getting into. I’m going to check out gallowtech if I ever need more gun cabinet goodness.
Honestly, I don’t think they would. If you look at the wall panel rack systems the slots are shaped differently. I suppose it is still possible that Gallowtech accessories could interface with Secure-it but I don’t think it would be ideal and may not be as sturdy. Is there a specific set-up you are looking for?
@@ShortStackSurvival I really want the gallowtech mounting system but I don’t like their lockers. On the flip side, I like secureit locker/safe but the mounting “seems” inferior. All in all it’s probably not a big deal, but I am somewhat disappointed to hear they’re China made. The quality is probably really good but if gallowtech is American made I may just lean that way.
@@operatorlxix5839 I think for the money you would be spending swapping the mounting system out and replacing it with gallowtech you’d be better served sticking with the original system. It seems sturdy enough for what it’s intended for, holding up guns and accessories. I just checked, and the rack is not screwed or bolted in, it seems like it is just glued to the back wall - that would be a pain in the a$$ to remove, but if you’re dedicated to the modification then maybe it would be worth it. Finding out secure-it was made in China was a huge disappointment, especially for the price. Gallowtech cabinets are similarly priced or even cheaper depending on what model you get. While the styling is industrialized, which I personally don’t mind, Gallowtech is a great option and ultimately offers the same security as secure-it, they both are just cabinets - no fire or water protection. I don’t have any experience with Gallowtech but they seem to be very well made. Anyways, at least if you still decide to go with secure-it you will at least know what you’re getting into and won’t be surprised upon delivery to find out they are made in China.
Yes! A standard 30-round magazine will fit. Depending on how you configure your safe and how much stuff you put in the door storage area, you may have some interference. With that said, the way I have my safe configured and with guns/ gear in the door pockets, I can easily close the safe with a 30 round mag in each rifle no problem. Hope that helps!
I’m not sure, how long ago did you buy yours? I was under the impression it was made in USA until I happened to see the made in China on the box. That’s when I searched everywhere on their website - they don’t mention where they are manufactured at all. Usually companies are proud to let their customers know that their products are made in USA.
@@tomszrodak Thank you! I appreciate that and yes, you definitely should slap Nostromo on that bad boy haha! Makes me happy every time I see it. So glad you mentioned the "Made In china" fact. Nobodys ever mentioned this and the relentless marketing campaign on their channel and all their sponsorships led me to believe their shit was usa made. Now makes me wonder what their origin point is for their other product. 🤔
You’re welcome! Before I bought it, I watched every RUclips video I could find, even watched most of SecureIts videos and I NEVER even once got the impression or suspected their products were not USA made. I was utterly shocked to see the Made in China 🇨🇳 slapped across the box upon delivery. The owner of the company did reach out and expressed his reasoning behind not having products USA made, but I’m not sure how I feel about it. One thing I do know is that they do a very good job at keeping product origin a secret on their website. I do not think anything they make is USA made. As a side note- my first ballistic helmet was from Hard Headed Veterans and it is not USA made but they were up-front about it. Now, HHV has since brought production to the States and I’m proud to have been an early customer. They made it happen despite what I’m assuming would have been easier and cheaper to keep production foreign. I think if a company is forthcoming and also actively working towards USA production, people would get behind it.
Really nice set up! Just found your channel and want to see if you would do a gun collection video? Maybe show off some of the AR's that you got?! Keep it up!
Thank you and welcome to my humble little channel! I’ll put the gun collection idea on the list of future videos. Until then, I do have a video discussing one of my AR’s with the Vudu 1-6 optic. I’ve also done several on my everyday carry S&W Bodyguard and Glock 42 if you wanna check those out too.
Very impressive - Even if it is made in China. Great pointers on the Good n Bad aspects. But all in all, I think you got yourself a Winner! I agree with Rebeca. A collection video would be a hit :)
I really like Gallow Tech, but they don't even offer cabinets. They're appealing to those people who have the need to display their stuff which makes zero sense and provides zero security. Yes, the Answer could just be picked up and whisked away. It at least has a door that keeps the honest man honest. This is hands down the best choice regardless of manufacture than buying one of those stupid sheetrock "fire-rated" pieces of junk.

I thought that was super odd as well. Sometimes I wonder if they forgot to ship the backup key or did I misplace it? Their website doesn’t mention a key backup for the Answer safe either, at least that I can find. It kinda feels like there could be a key hole in the handle behind the little plastic insert or perhaps behind the “Answer” Placard on the front. I will have to play around with it and see.

Thanks again and Best regards, Tom Kubiniec President CEO SecureIt”

Your stance on buying US made products won me over as a subscriber.
@ShortStackSurvival sadly nothing smaller from Gallow. Thx
Heck yea! I've seen multiple videos but no one has mentioned the things you did. Awesome vid!
Thank you! I watched a bunch of videos before I bought it and was disappointed no one mentioned these things as well.
How was the delivery? Did they bring it inside for you? Was it easy to move into place?
Delivery was fine, I convinced the delivery guys to bring it inside even though it technically was just a curbside delivery. I had a couple guy friends move the safe for me, but it didn’t seem too bad for them.
Did this come assembled or did you have to put it together?
Great review, really nice surprise to find this kind of honest, to the point and well made content, specially for a product like this. Thank you!
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and took the time to comment!
By far one of the best reviews! keep it up
Thank you!!
Great video. Straight and to the point.
Thank you!
Very nice collection! Impressive. Because of the storage location I upted to get Agile 52 and Agile 40. I mounted Agile 40 on top of 52.
Nice! I’ve seen people stack those almost like lockers. It’s super nice to have everything organized.
Nice job on this video. Thanks for taking the time to cover this safe for us. Keep up the good work
Thank you! I enjoy making videos and I’m glad you found this one useful!
@Short Stack Survival glad to hear that. Btw, I just got my safe and there's a lot of play with the two doors locked. Is yours like that?

That’s a nice looking safe. Damn you got some heat. Sweet set ups
Thank you! It’s amazing how many guns and accessories you accumulate over the years!
Good review. It is disappointing that these are not Made in USA. Thanks for the lead on Gallow Technologies, had not heard of them.
Thank you! I really want to get a Gallow Tech cabinet in the future, they look badass and USA made is my jam. I will say the SecureIt safe has been holding up well for me, but every time I look at it I think C-H-I-N-A and get annoyed lol.
How deep is the cabinet with the doors open? Aka if I’m putting it in a closet how much depth would I need?
The cabinet is about 37 inches deep with the doors open. Just the cabinet itself is approx. 19.5 inches deep at the widest point (including door hinges) with doors closed. Sorry it took a while to get back to you, I’ve been working and didn’t have time to measure it at the time.
How long did it take a to arrive ?
It arrived earlier than expected based on the original lead times, from the time I ordered it to showing up at my door was 15 days.
Nice setup and good video. It's a cool storage solution but pretty expensive for a heavy duty cabinet I thought.
I did find a little informational PDF on the SecureRam digital interface here ->securamsys.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/SafeLogic-Basic-Data-Sheet-SureLock.pdf
If you end up finding any more information about the lock, feel free to add it to the comments for other viewers if you’d like.
I love my Answer 12
It has worked very well for me thus far.
Great non-biased review. Everything is made in China these days, and even those products assembled in the U.S. are still using Chinese parts. I’m over it. Purchasing this safe for the value and storage capacity.
Thank you!
I love everything about this safe. Only thing I don't like it's where it's made. If you knew what you know now, would you still purchase this safe?

@@ShortStackSurvival Oh gotcha! Thanks for the reply and the info for the magnets! Going to grab some for my safe today along w the tape!
@@CaliforniaHotBoyTV No problem! Hope your project goes well and that you enjoy the little mod to your safe.

(For anything, not just secureit)
I've worked retail before and come across customers with this mindset every blue moon but with the majority of things on store shelves nation wide being some sort of Asian origin, I've never understood the fuss.
Really great thorough review.
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Do you think Gallowtechs wall panels/ accessories could be used in the securit safe?
Were you able to fit an ar with a mag in?
My 8 spots box was made in the USA
Wondering if they switched
I’m not sure, how long ago did you buy yours? I was under the impression it was made in USA until I happened to see the made in China on the box.

I was definitely shocked myself. I couldn’t believe that it was never mentioned in all the videos and reviews I poured over when I was deciding which safe/gun cabinet to get. @@emac4925 You are welcome! I definitely understand your decision to shop around for a decently priced USA made safe and would encourage anyone looking for secure firearm storage to do the same.
Trump's voice "china"
lol! If only I could.
Sucks it’s made in china wont be buying one now
Yeah it really does suck. I would recommend checking out Gallowtech, they have some cabinets that are similar and made in USA.
@@ShortStackSurvival Thanks you Rock ! Good content though !
@@danielharper3250 Thank you!
Nice collection.
Thank you!
Dang talk about about fully loaded! Great video its cool seeing all the different gear you have. Never know what you need given the situation. Glad to see your locked, cocked, and ready to rock! Good Job Short Stack
Thanks! It definitely makes me happy when I open it up and see all the awesome gear in my gun safe! Now excuse me while I go drop, pop and lock it.
If you want a Chinese cabinet get a Secure It if you want an actual American made SAFE get a SturdySafe.
I don’t have any experience with SturdySafe but I just checked out their website and they look solid! Yes, you’re right, the Answer-12 is a cabinet only and Chinese made sadly. If I need another place to store my firearms I’ll definitely consider them. Thanks for the info!
I second funkfarmer on the great quality of Sturdy Safe. No comparison to the Chi-com junk from Securit. Sturdy Safes are made in California using USA made A-36 steel. Family owned company for three generations. Just my opinion. God Bless.
Nothing wrong with either. Secureit is geared towards not having to deal with digging guns out that are burried in the rear of the safe like every other safe on the market. Secureit doesn't have the fire safety that sturdysafe does, but it also doesn't cost 3-6k.
That was a great review. Thanks
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.
Great non-biased review. Everything is made in China these days, and even those products assembled in the U.S. are still using Chinese parts. I’m over it. Purchasing this safe for the value and storage capacity.
Thank you! I understand where you are coming from, you gotta make purchases that make sense for you. All I want is for companies to be upfront about where their stuff is made, and not try and hide behind “American Based Company.”
