For anyone with a standard dumb safe but you have a wireless home alarm system, just attach a standard window or door contact sensor to the door. It will let you know when opened and closed as well as set the alarm off when armed.

I have Secureit with the added top section. I've been very happy with mine. Works flawlessly, and it ships flat in a box and isn't just a box of overpriced sheetrock. It's bolted to the floor as well as the wall, so it won't be easy to steal, plus I keep some guns at other locations in case of fire, and insurance will cover any losses. Most guns won't survive in a typical safe anyway, regardless of the supposed fireproofing they claim. My firefighter buddies will testify they have rarely seen any guns survive a housefire in any safe, so the added weight of typical safes is just a waste imo, and I've seen the doors of a Liberty safe pried open in less than 3 minutes, so a determined thief is gonna get in the safe as long as they have enough time to get the job done. I have my safe to buy me some time, as well as to keep kids and guests from unintended access to my firearms. Secureit serves my needs perfectly and i highly recommend them to anyone that asks, and I rarely recommend anything. I also had an issue with the lock mechanism on the top addition that I bought after having the bottom section for about 5 years. I emailed them and they sent a replacement lock mechanism in less than 3 days and I swapped it out in about 10 minute, so the customer service was excellent as well.

Safes can be a good idea, nothing against them,
My father used do own gas stations, and in one he had a safe inside a large steel 55 gal drum- filled with concrete,
    He had break ins often.
And the safe being in plan view in the front room, it was always a target,
But rarely were the crooks ever able to move this extremely heavy safe more than a couple feet,
By the time the cops arrived there would be a trail of blood, sweat & tears as the thieves cut themselves getting through the glass doors and worked their asses off to move the safe unsuccessfully.
Another interesting anecdote is a friend that’s a serious gun collector,
He said he kept 2 gun safes, one that was more easily penetrable, with much less expensive weaponry, so the crooks would get the easy grab & leave…
And not search further to find his real gun collection.
My dad in his gas station started this philosophy also,
Purposely leaving a small amount, under $100 in the cash drawer, as the the thief would generally take that small amount & vacate, not searching, causing more damage & potentially finding more cash.

Colion’s just peddling for the highest bidder at this point. I mean, he has been for a while but this is gratuitous. No fire rating, no water protection. Super thin steel so you will have to bolt this thing down in a corner to limit prying access. An angle grinder will be through this thing in under 60 seconds. $2k for a box with a fancy latch. Get real.

As a locksmith that has sold, serviced and broken into safes, this is a high tech gun locker. I have no issues with anyone wanting this to store their firearms. It has a lot of cool features. It does fall short compared to safes in the same price range that have security not aesthetics as their main selling points. Example of standard features that are under used, small or not included are listed here-The size, number & material make up of the locking bolts. The lack of a fire rating. The lack of relockers or hardened plates. The above features are standard on safes in the $2000 price range. The capacity of 8 long guns is also very small when compared to other $2,000 gun safes with more security features. My opinion is biometric security on safes aren't as dependable as dial locks, electronic locks, push button simplex locks or keys. All of those entry methods will work if you give someone the combo if you aren't around to open the safe yourself. The simpler a the locking mechanism the more dependable the locking mechanism. Again, I think it's a good looking safe with cool features just not the best security features.
Congratulations on to Colin the sponsorship and on helping design the product.
