The spoon tomatoes are fun. You plant them in a small pot. You just snack on them like grapes or salad.
Tumeric you just plant like ginger.
I eat sweet potatoes like 3 times a week. I just leave the sweet potatoe on the counter until it sprouts.

Spoon tomatoes are fun to grow! Fun to put in breads, salads, they seem like a ton of work but great snacking. Worse case give them away. So prolific and always ripens first in Wy. Your chickens would love them.

I'm in S. Florida so I have a very long season. The big draw back is the UV index is higher here, so the spring/ summer garden is tricky requiring shade cloth or afternoon shade for things. I just started 4 10x20 trays of seeds yesterday. ❤

    • @ZanshinCenter
      @ZanshinCenter 6 месяцев назад +2

Born and raised in SoFL and live in East Central FL now and still use shade cloth and it’s working!!! Though I will say I didn’t realize there are different percentages of shade cloth and accidentally 😢getting 70% shade cloth and come to find out 40% - 50% is best. My Mango, Avocados are missing SoFL .. all the best to you ☀️🙌🏻🙏🏻

    Hey Asia!!!
We’re both growing some of the same things this spring like the little marvel peas, sugar snap peas, marketmore cucumber and walla walla onions.
    I love nasturtium s!
The ginger freezes very well. I have some in my freezer now.
I grew turmeric for the first time last year, and doggone it, I forgot to harvest it. 😩 😂
I’ve grown sweet potatoes two ways, placed in water and in soil. Both work. I prefer to grow them in a glass jar in water. It’s so pretty to watch grow!
You’re like me, the easiest way possible. 😂
You are definitely getting things done.
We are zone buddies. Zone 7b (only I’m in Maryland)😂
Mother’s Day weekend is the official day to get plants out into the garden over here. 😜
    Great job!👏

Hello Asia, I love watching your videos. Your enthusiasm for gardening is contagious. I wish I had as much space as you but living in a condo. I have probably the size of a twin bed where I’m allowed to plant things. One of my neighbors has taken her entire backyard like you have, and turned it into a massive garden, her tomato plants are like 10 foot tall on these huge tripods. She puts up for them. You have to enclose your backyard if you wanna make something like that with the gardening at all and I’m not gonna be living here long enough to do anything like that I wish I could stay. I do like this neighborhood, but I can’t afford the taxes. What is the joys of living in New Jersey. I look forward to your next video and I hope you have a wonderful week. Kathy.

Thanks video zone 7b Maryland. Made plans for garden. Have greens, cabbage, mustards and kale from fall/winter. Planted onions/garlic in fall they should get bigger with as daylight and warmth progress. Also have flowers seedling started Calendula, Nasturtium, and other cool weather flowers. Want them big when placed out . Need plenty Calendula to make salve, its done wonders for skin so need more to dry. I had some to last almost thru winter. Like to have more to dry to use. Last started more onions ( like try powder) . Finally have tomatoes, peppers and herbs starts. Usually plant in April just cover and its worked to get early start. Plus my beds are covered. If decided place grow bags will cover as well. Since retired have more time but I know what like when have work so you use time wisely and take care of your self. I am ready but do not want to rush the warmth because it hot before you know it. Take care Happy seed start. PS just placed sweet potatoes in water and they are rooting in in window. Plan plant potatoes as well. Take care.

I enjoyed this video so much. Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you planted the turmeric that way. They will need space. The rhizomes spread just like ginger and irises. Keep a few to mature, they make beautiful flowers. I do my soil just like you. But I have to use boiling water. It seems to be the only way I can keep the tiny skinny mushrooms and white and green stuff from growing in the soil. Have a great day and happy gardening 🌿🌿🍠🥔🧄🧄😋😘🤗🥰☕☕

Your ranunculus should be fine without holes in the bottom of the pans. I always start mines in a tray either no drainage and they do well as long as I’m not overwatering them. I hope you get great results. Ours are in ground right now and are looking promising. Planted them too late last year and the heat took them out before I got blooms. Carrots are doing well and I have lettuce to harvest. Been having those cherry tomatoes all winter long! We only had one night of really cold ice in the birdbath weather. I'm excited! Going to try corn direct planting, the watermelon and cantaloupe too. Pumpkin? Thinking about it.

Started ginger and turmeric last year. Should soak over night before planting to get the chemicals off ( they spray and growth inhibiter on these roots 😘)
And the ginger and turmeric are considered as rhizomes. So excited you are doing calendula and nasturtium . I purchased expensive Vermont Compost this year. I do fertilize maybe every other week but how long would you say it takes to grow a tomato plant. I have had them since Jan 2 and I would say I'm half way there.
