    I will cut off the flowers from the basil and put them in avocado or olive oil and let infuse. For basil oil to drizzle on sourdough bread or toasted croissants.

    Hi! I live in ⬆️state SC. Years ago my gardener told me to put a package of powdered dry milk in each hole before planting the tomatoes. I began doing this & have had NO blossom end rot since I began this practice. Thank you, Mr. McC.!

    Girl no way those peaches would survive in my yard with the ongoing squirrel wars!!! 😩🤪 You are so fortunate not having to deal with that menace! 💜🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I would say a couple days at the most. Once they start to ripen, it goes pretty fast. I have the Florida King and the Harvester! Garden is lookin lush and beautiful as usual! 💜

    Hello you are my favorite gardener above all. I have a small garden also. A lot smaller than yours. I purchased the calcium antacid, Tums like from dollar tree. I’m going to crush a couple of tabs and place in the tomatoes bags. Someone said low calcium causes blossom end rot. I’ll see how that works.

    • @muniondalenewyurk6777

      Yes, Low calcium and infrequent watering causes blossom end rot. 🤦🏽‍♀️

      Hello! Thank you! I have seen people say to add calcium. I hope it works for you! I want to start with watering because I know for sure that’s been an issue for me. If it continues I’ll look into amendments. Thank you for letting me know a cheap easy option 🤗

    I love how healthy your garden looks. Don't like spiders. I don't kill them in my garden but remove them. Arachnophobia here😂. But sometimes they crawl right back in the next day. Then they gots to go for good. Here we get some beautiful colored ones, so when it finds its way back after I gently removed it the day before, I know we are having a disagreement. I refuse to be run out of my garden. I used to but I'm getting stronger each season. You had a spider web on your left hand after you left the spider area. The light kept catching. I kept searching you for the spider that weaved it😂. You go girl. I wish I wasn't so scared.

    I'm in zone 8b SC. I started growing my squash upright by tying them to bamboo pole, and that has worked a lot better to give me squash and prevent the dreaded borer. I also interplant chives and potted mint to disguise them further. So far so good.

    • @Zora87Peace
      @Zora87Peace 25 дней назад +3

      @@jesswelsh9838 If you grow in bags or containers, try adding garden lime to the soil once your tomatoes start producing. Blossom end rot occurs in pots most times because once the nutrients you added in the beginning, are depleted, the plant roots can't forage for nutrients like in-ground plant roots can. Hence, you have to add garden lime and fertilizer periodically. Tomatoes and peppers are heavy feeders.

    • @jesswelsh9838
      @jesswelsh9838 25 дней назад +3

      @Zora87Peace I'm growing in ground, I fertilize with a 4-4-4 NPK grandular once a month and liquid fish emulsion once a week. My soil is probably funky, though. I will get the lime, I didn't know about that, thank you! 🙏

    Oooo Asia, my favorite way to eat fresh green beans from the garden is to blanch them in salted water, drain them, then throw them in a warm skillet and shake them around with some butter so it sort of emulsifies, squeeze a little lemon on them, and sprinkle with pepper and parsley. So delicious! I also had a lot of big harvests and smothered them in bacon drippings, bouillon, onion, and garlic powder until they were almost soft and then froze them in quart bags. When I want to use them, I dump a bag in a skillet and simmer them until most of the broth cooks out. Delicious and super easy side to have on hand! Everything looks so good! My garden in 9a is on the downhill slope but I’m steadily replanting stuff!

    I am excited for my garden. I had bought some shishito peppers plants from Ace Hardware and I picked some of the peppers that had grown too long on the plants and were starting to dry out off. And now I'm having them finish drying outside in the sun so that I can have my own seeds for next year and not have to buy any plants. I am too excited. I had bought these pepper plants because of how much you rave about them, so I really wanted to give them a try. I have more that are starting to produce and this time I'm going to try them in a recipe.

    Hey there my fishing and gardening friend. It's called Blossom End Rot because yes, the Roots can/are not able to absorb the nutrients it needs to prevent diseases. In this case, it's Calcium. Dried Egg Shells that are powdered and mixed into the soil at the root area will show Immediate improvement. Pleeeese try it. It's better than losing some more tomatoes to find out what is happening. Thanks for reading.

    Hi Guys..Watching this vid..11.30cst. Peace to you Asia. The garden is looking lovely. Hearing about the blossom-end-rot issue and reading some of the comments. I'd like to add that "blossom-end-rot issue is usually indicative of a lack of calcium. You can add that by always rinsing your hen and/or duck eggshells, baking them in the oven (at 250) for about 20-25 mins, then grinding them in a seed or coffee grinder, sprinkling them around your tomato plants and watering them in. Since your plants are already growing you can take the finely grown shells and mix them with warm water in a blender..let the mixture sit for a couple of hours or overnight (allowing the calcium to leach into the water) and then pour it around the tomato plants and water in. We've had success with this method. This is an organic way of course, but you also buy a fertilizer with added calcium. Oh!..Also, when you initially plant out the tomato seedlings ..mix some of the ground eggshells in with the soil and then plant. Chances are you won't see this issue anymore.

      This is the 1st time I’ve had my Swiss chard go to seed. I also staked mine because it’s gotten huge! I plan to save the seeds.
      My peach tree had some kind of fungus. The leaves and fruit got spots all over them. I pulled the fruit to be able to save them from the fungus. They were really good and sweet!
      I’m trying really hard to let the pests ‘be’ in the garden🤣

      Calcium Nitrate, or quick fix a handful of lime in a bucket of water to water.

      I ordered the roots with a group in a seed swap on IG. Hopefully you can find a trusted source. I personally have been we seen the seeds on a store near me.

    Asia, I have never clicked on a video so fast. I love watching you going through your garden. Do you use the quail and chickens for meat or just eggs?

      Lol, thank you for watching 🤗. I use the quail for meat and eggs but the chickens are just for eggs.

    add a little epsom salt around anything with blossom end rot.....it will help give the plant magnesium and calcium and will allow the plant to pull up nutrients better....not much, a tbsp per plant is enough :)

      Hi 👋🏾! Awww thank you, I’m happy to hear that! I try to do it at least every two weeks. I haven’t fertilized in over a month at this point though. Life has been busy.
