I was literally about to send the same message. A great way to start my morning. Positive, educational, calm, and inspiring - with a side of coffee ☕️ ❤
Congratulations on having personal time off🎉. You are my gardening BFF in my head, so more videos from you thrill me, a beginning gardener. I am hoping that for a future vlog you could do a cost assessment for seeds , starts and supplies ??? I don’t always know if I’m really getting good value for the price. I know that people live in different states, but I can adjust based on my area if I can see how you wiuld apply value to price in a general manner. I hope that I’m making sense because I suspect that I am over spending especially on things that might be non-essential.
I see you Broke Farmer. I love your channel as well. Here in Louisiana zone 9. getting my motivation to start my fall garden. It’s been a rough hot summer and I didn’t do as well as expected but I’m excited to plan better for the fall. I will do seeds and starts. Asia is awesome.
Asia, I plant my collard greens in two separate places for bug control. The real ones I want to harvest go in raised beds in the garden. The sacrificial ones re replanted in a cardboard box like micro greens. I replant seeds every three weeks to keep the bugs going for the young tender greens. It works I never have any problems in the garden.
Interesting note: the practice of walking barefoot on the earth(on grass, dirt, mulch, unsealed concrete, sand, etc) is actually a beneficial holistic medicine practice. It’s called grounding if you’re interested in learning more. So go on and kick your shoes off girl and get some healing! This summer has been soooo hot in zone 10a Central FL that my garden took a hit as well. I’m excited to jump into fall as well. Let me tell you something though girl…. You have made kohlrabi look so delicious that I went ahead and grew some last season and my family was like …”NO”🤣I could take em or leave them myself. But guess what I’m doing again for fall…. Yep. I’m giving them another try. Different variety this time. 🤞🏽
Hi Asia! You just might be on to something, I use hey in my layer boxes and coop area, will use some on top of my beds and see how it does, Thanks for sharing, Happy Gardening 😊🌺
I am definitely sleeping on my local feed and seed store, I can’t believe those prices!!! I also can’t believe Chipdrop is delivering your wood chips so soon 😳 I’ve been waiting for 2yrs and nothing. I am enjoying these videos ❤
I do look forward to your videos. I usually don’t comment however I have to tell you how much you inspire me every day. Keep growing! ❤ rabbits? How are you keeping your seedlings from getting eaten?
Your videos are so inspirational! The way you garden and embrace the concept of “its fine” help me stay calm when i don’t have success with a plant grow. Thank you for your honesty and openness.
Hi Asia! You look so happy, and I am really happy for you, in this new phase of life. To be honest, I won't be able to keep up with watching a video every day. But I'll catch ya when I can!
Where do you buy your starts from? I really love your channel both channels. Happy planting and abundance of fruit. Waiting for mine to sprout. I’m in 8b. And that chop drop ain’t no joke took like two days and 6-8 people to get it off my street. If you do try with seeds can u do a video 🙏🏾
Had to rewatch, it was so relaxing as you Fall garden. You inspired me to start cleaning my raised bed. Pulled out the sunflowers, marigolds & cut back the raspberry bushes to make room for collards, kale & mustards. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love my local garden center, it's a small place but it's packed with some of everything. They charge $1.29 for 4 cells seedlings and $1.99 for 6 cell seedlings..,I got 6 different 4 cell trays for under $10
OMG! You inspired me to get up and fix some of my garden today. I paused the TV and went outside and planted more seeds. Not sure if we will get a lot of harvest (5b Iowa). But I had to plant something else lol. They have stopped selling seedlings in our area. I think they stopped about a month or so ago. Heartbreaking! But I was really inspired by this video. Keep up with the videos we can learn something new every day. Many blessings.
Great minds think alike....I flipped my beds today and put in my turnips, and will put in my collards and chard starts tomorrow. I think I'm gonna try radishes and carrots in my buckets as a fall experiment.
Hi Asia! How is friend doing. Looks like I may have to get a few starts myself😫😂. Gotta have a fall garden😂. I finally got my shishito pepper seeds because of you😂for next season.
I enjoyed this vlog. Getting to see you go shopping for your starts and then planting them out. I really love your videos and see that stress free spirit now that you aren't with your previous position. Just that sense of peace about you. My last day at a stressful job was yesterday. I had only been there a short time, but the environment was not healthy, and the sense of outcast was painfully obvious for me and my husband who both worked there. When you said it in a previous video that you don't leave the job you leave because of the people. We definitely left because of the people. But on the positive side it gives us both a chance to reflect and look into some things that we really want to peruse in our lives.
I was thinking about doing that with the vhips so i can walk on the but then i thought of something stabbing me or the ants making homes in the chips. Ill watchbyou first 😊
It's not weird to be barefoot in the garden!! At one with nature...I do it daily and my grandson also.😊I have a pea gravel pathway so we step out of our shoes before entering my garden
Hi Asia! I bought seedlings so I’m ready to join you! I have deer so I need to get this fencing up as well. I’m not trying to offer the deer a buffet again this season.
My dad got west nile. We are in Debary, florida. just north of orlando. he was in a coma for 3 months. when he woke up he didnt have any use of his arms or hands. dont sleep on west nile. I think you said u were in florida. we got it here.
What is the name of the place you bought your seedlings (you bought by the tray $20. I am so glad I found you! yes we both live in the same region. I hope and please tell me the name of the place you went I would love to go this coming week.
I think Not walking on the beds may be beneficial. During the growing season Earth worms and other garden helpers aerated the soil for you. Plant roots appreciate good soil aeration. Forking is good to help get nutrients down to lower levels of soil but you said you are putting fertilizer in the planting holes also. Save yourself some labor and don't compact your beds by walking on them.
Thank you for the suggestion! I walk on the beds because I have a mole or a vole that creates tunnels. I don't walk on the beds that aren't affected by the mole or vole. I only walk on them to ensure the tunnels collapse.
Maybe Brussels would work in a bag too? I grew two plants in a raised bed this year and they got huge! But...the bugs ...little green worm looking dudes completely took them over and I couldn't eat them. I picked as many worms off as I could but couldn't keep up. May try a bag ne t time
I hadn't thought about that but maybe I will. I can move the bags so that's actually a good idea. O darn, the little green worms are the worst for brassicas lol. Are you going to try to grow them again?
I am growing them for the first time and have had them under netting all season. They are spotless that way. Everywhere else my brassicas get the caterpillars and now harlequin bugs this year too 🙄
Do you just eat kohlrabi raw? Or do you like to fix it somehow? PS You are so fortunate to have such a nice source for seedlings. There is NOTHING around here…even big box stores close down and bring in fall and winter decor.
Partial retirement looks good on you, keep making these incredible videos,I feel like watching you is like hanging out with a good friend
Same....she's so relatable & chill. ❤ her!
I love starting my day with your videos. I like your down to earth realistic way of doing things. You’re relatable

Those tshirts are so popular 😂
Might get some starts too, my seeds didn't germinate. Fall gardening is awesome

Definitely agree with that other commenter about trying the Brussels sprouts in bags!! Excited to see if that would work for you
You got some great looking plants.

Do you ever regrow your kitchen scraps like cabbage?
When’s your average frost date?
I’m thinking I’m too late for fall crops mines is mid october
My first frost is sometime around the first week of November.
Do you have someone to care for your chickens when you travel out do you have a set up? This keeps me from having livestock.
I didn’t know VA let you have chickens 🐓
