- Check out part two of our interview with Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, at gamescom 2023! Here, Spencer explains the current situation with the CMA regarding cloud gaming rights and details how partnering with Ubisoft will affect the Activision deal.
On the topic of hardware, Spencer fills us in on where we are in the Xbox Series X’s timeline and how we won’t see a hardware refresh anytime soon. Spencer also wants to work with Larian Studios to provide some clarity for what Xbox fans can expect from Baldur's Gate 3 when it arrives on the platform.

@@darkcult99i mean if you actually look at what xbox is doing, phil is not wrong at all. You have gamepass, the affordable xbox series s, cloud gaming, you can literally play fortnite for free on your browser using your thumbs. So yeah, xbox is trying to make the luxury of console gaming a easy and affordable way of playing video games.
Big respect to Destin for actually asking important questions that people care about.

This was a great look for Destin. Phil Spencer did bring more clarity and technically we do have more games with the Bethesda/ABK acquisitions. To say hey your waiting on what we’re cooking up over here in Xbox, just until what we’re buying until then. This generation is suppose to be Phil’s best one ever. Phil has the opportunity to sling shot Xbox to the top if these games start to deliver. Let’s see what Phil can do.

Fantastic interview, really cleared up some burning questions we've had.
Sigh the CMA needs to look at Ubisoft track record in recent years on how consumer unfriendly they are. Not just whether Ubisoft is independent from Microsoft.

Love this interviewer. Real conversation about things that are relevant and interesting. Not punching him out but not holding back either. Phil is great too, as always. I've always liked his optimism about the gaming industry and how he's lead Xbox into this era of play anywhere.
Phil Spencer will be in school textbooks, mark my words. The guy is simply built different. He saw a future no one else saw and executed on it despite all the headwinds. And now, here we are in Xbox's bright future. No more speculation. It's here. The 2nd Xbox Golden Era has begun!
