I'm a software UX Designer...but if I could ever imagine a brilliant hardware engineering - that would be the Surface family ;) Keep up the good job guys!
Just missing 1 Port, SD Card Reader. Even without the SD Card Reader, this Laptop Looks Really Good especially with the Upgraded Internals. I love the Choice between AMD & Intel Chipsets.
1:16, is this right, or is this a misstatement? An additional CPU core is re-enabled and tied to running the GPU, or did this really mean a 7th GPU CU is re-enabled?
@@MSFTMechanics Thanks for checking! Not to absolutely belabor the point, but this says 7 GPU CUs are enabled, vs the usual 6, you're absolutely sure that's not what was meant in the script, and rather an extra CPU core is enabled and driving the GPU? docs.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/surface-laptop-processors
I see what you mean, since these are normally symmetrical in the APU (CPU and GPU core count is the same) per www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-5-4600h. The extra core is a GPU core as you note, and as mentioned Windows acknowledges the 6 CPU cores. Since we're saying "cores" in the talk track and not specific to core type of CPU and GPU, and they are normally symmetrical, it's not technically a misstatement and there is indeed an extra core, but it is definitely a nuance.
I rather choose Intel options, its because Intel Tiger lake performs better on virtualization such as emulation also XE graphics is better than Vega on ryzen.

Time to upgrade my Surface Laptop 2. Phenomenal devices and build quality, nothing compares.
Very nice. I have been looking forward to a surface laptop with 8 cores. Thank you! Can't wait to get my hand on a new surface with 8 cores.
Just happy that there are replaceable/serviceable parts...very cool.
I hope the Surface Pro 8 has AMD options. That would be sweet.
Glad they still keeping the Surface Connect port. Thank you #TeamSurface !!
These are great designs. The guys in the Surface team are doing great.
looks so clean❤
Beautiful products 💙
People talk about how the reveal videos don't have enough information. Here you go!

Glad to know it's more repairable friendly
Killing the game Microsoft👍
great video and your voice is so soft to listen 😍
still my dream laptop ohh Surface!
It's time to upgrade the Surface Dock. I want to drive more monitors.
Nice beautiful product

This is correct. It was verified by the chipset team. Windows via Task Manager displays the 6 cores, but an extra core is used for graphics.

Slowly but surely, Microsoft is outpacing every other PC hardware manufacturer out there (if it hasn't already!).
Amazing!
Man this one was so cool.
Loved it. Hey just gift me one Microsoft surface laptop 4... 🤩😖😋
Is it possible to buy platinum with metal? 13.5 inches?
The 13.5 inch platinum color has Alcantara. You can get the 15 inch with metal base, or 13.5 inch in sandstone or black with metal base.
That AMD Ryzen chip better be paired with an LPDDR4x-4266 RAM or I'm out.
It does have 4266mhz RAM
👍
sandstone laptop 4 color will suit a man ?
