Doesn't this dialogue precisely go against that? We might've fixed the flaws in the golden order with the goldmask ending, but we can still make mistakes. It's selfish to think that we could do better. After all, continuing to rule in the same way Marika did will lead to the same problems, even with the golden order rid of flaws.
This is why I like the Ranni ending, it's a fundamentally different route. Fuck the golden order, greater will and all that. Yeah, mistakes are still possible, and likely. The gods, are, too, people, and so is Ranni. Yet just by trying something different, other than restoring the golden order, I already think it's a better course of action.
Not even gonna mention flame of frenzy. If you hate your life and want to die, there's a way to fix that. But, as Melina herself says, even in the current state of the lands between, there's still birth, there's still life, life clings to the slightest bit of hope there is. Ending it all because of the horrors you see is stupid. They still suffered, and now, you also rid of life those that weren't suffering. We can't do that.

The whole idea of fromsoft games is how everything made eventually deteriorates, and you can either sacrifice to preserve what's left or burn it all down and start from the beginning, or some other alternative usually involving changing things and starting a new cycle with a different flavor. In every case, you are not judged for picking either, because each game portrays a cycle, save for Elden Ring, where no cycle is implied. Instead the theme is more centered around how little you actually know about what you chose, and nothing is elaborated on afterwards, no extended ending, because you too will create something that will eventually fail, or not, but you can't see past the short term as a human, but you can make nice choices in the short term.
You start off as a dude with no knowledge of the world, and detached from it's conflicts. Ymir spells the themes of it out for you in case you miss what they're trying to imply.

Peoples who think Ranni ending makes the world normal are tripping MAD hard.
You cannot stop the outergods, only slow them down , they don’t give a shot about the Elden ring in general as you see in the DLC.
-Metyr is older than the fucking Elden ring
-The flame of frenzy influence on the land between is predate Marika golden Order and the Edtree itself since even the hornsents are AFRAID of it soo much that they will brutally execute or torture anyone who meddle with it ( as the sword of damnation even mocks them by saying they aren’t different from the Golden Order )
    - The Order of Rot always pollute stuff and even the horsent are implied to not like them
The hornsent are a civilization that is said and shown to not be so different from the golden Order when it comes to religious practice and treating people they view as lesser them ( people without horns, Criminals etc)
Ancient Dragons too have their own share of mutual hatred against drakes due to them being direct descendants of Bayle the Tyrants, and they went out of their way to invent dragon communion just to basically exterminate them.
The hornsents cannot stop the outergods, neither can Marika as a god, so what on earth can Ranni do when the Outer gods already fuck around in the land between BEFORE the Elden ring was even a thing?
All Ranni did was basically dismantle the religious group known as the Golden Order, but sadly it doesn’t fix shit, you don’t need to be god to oppress people, you just need to have enough POWER, which is exactly what the hornsents did even so they didn’t have a god.
If anyone played DS3, you would know about Pontiff sulyvan and Aldrich, the former is a tyrannical sorcerer while the later is a cannibalistic priest that gets stronger the more people he eats ( ironically worshipped as a god of an incoming age) , both of them despises anything related to gods aka Gywn lineage, yet even so they have no power related to the first flame, they had horrific influence in a good portion of DS3 lore that they did deliberately

What Ranni's ending leaves behind is...nothing. No powerful characters, or powerful entities to stop the horror. Just a black hole of anarchy.
"Free will" is a lie in the Ranni ending. The Golden Order is no more tyrannical than a typical monarchy, and what will emerge in the Lands Between after the Ranni ending will likely be no better than the Golden Order.
