These are great points Shane! However, I don't know if this is a So. CA thing but getting past the receptionist is a daunting task. 98% of the time they do not want to transfer the call or give you the name of the person in charge. Got to find a value proposition. You are local, chamber of commerce, association, specialize in their industry, etc.
They get so many "google" and yelp phone calls nowadays, have to find a connection.
