I've been thinking that the past few games as well. being consistent is not something we are used to seeing from our offense and it's game changing with our momentum. Mason doesn't take as many risks without being strategic and it's unpredictable plays that really elevate those occasions.
I disagree, both are good in different things, Kenny's not the problem, first game with our OC Canada and he has a 400 total yard offensive game and we won then he got hurt beginning of cards game and that was that. Masons a true leader but Kenny can learn from him @@scottstevens2752

Kenny is salty that he's relegated to being the backup, that's why he's not dressing. He was quick to say "no" when asked if he learned anything while sitting last week. Respect the competitive nature, but he's not dressing of his own volition because he's upset at being the backup. Should have played better, kid.

I am really pleased that Mason is finally getting a chance to be the starting quarterback for the Steelers over the past two weeks. It just seems like the team has played so much better with him as the starter. I think the Steelers are making the right decision to start Mason in the season finale against the Ravens since he has played so well.

Yes. People don't realize part of the reason why the offensive line has been playing better and the run game has improved is due to two things Kenny can't do:
1.) Stay in the pocket
2.) Is a threat for the deep ball

Too bad his correct decisions have come too late, just the fact that Mason has looked so competent the past two weeks, makes you wonder what took so long(as being the last two seasons to throw him in the fire) think the whole complete picture makes coach look incompetent at best. Couldn't blame him for that either. Either way Tomlin has not shown the coaching abilities to be able to re load. Meaning his first four years with a already set experienced roster,a winning culture with real leadership,and a experienced coaching staff(Lebeau) had him looking like a super coach first four seasons. Since the guys resume has been rather 💩. Everyone wants to claim the 3Bs , well that sure underachieved didn't it? For all the hype and such. I'm also a Pitt fan and I liked KP. But I didn't want him to get drafted here knowing, that our coach doesn't do a good job developing players. Probably because his lack of quality coaching staff. Its very clear that Mason is playing far better than KP8 has ever played in his starts as QB1. He naver had a game with +30 points.
That’s lies he scored 30 on Joe burrow & The bengals last year & Mason only threw for 250 & no touchdowns gatta keep the same energy for him. Kenny throws for 250 easily with blocking an run game looking like that.

Exactly. Mason is more accurate and willing to adjust to the play as it unfolds. Kenny seems to not adjust and throws to who he planned to, open or not. Literally saw him throw to an empty spot on the field when the receiver ran the route wrong. He also threw to the back of a receiver. He will also throw to a well covered receiver. He's not accurate enough to get away with it.

Mason had looked confident and has played like it. Kenny isn’t done, I’m sure he gets another chance. But with the season on the line, you gotta pick the hot hand. Kenny wasn’t bad this season, but his best games were nowhere near as good as the 2 games we’ve seen out of Mason. And masons worst games are right on par with Kenny’s average games in the past.

So glad that the QB decision is made early. We'd be fools not to start Mason not only for what he's done, but how the ENTIRE team has responded to having a functional offense. Everyone is performing how most of us envisioned at the start of the season. Capitalizing on defensive turnovers and stacking drives while minimizing the 3 & outs is surely a relief. Watching contributions come from every unit makes our team fun to watch again. Baltimore is a tough task, but at least now the Ravens know they will face a rejuvenated & hopeful Steelers team. If we don't face the Ravens starters and happen to get into the playoffs, we will surely face the Ravens starters in a few weeks because our team is finally for real. A team that BELIEVES is a strong team and a team that can make a serious run at the championship! Here We Go Steelers!!! Here We GO!!!

As a Browns fan, I would rather see Mason Rudolf as your starting QB over Trubisky and Pickett. I want our rivalry to be what it once was. Both teams at their best make for intense rivalry.

The Ravens organization knows better than any other team in the NFL what it means to face the Steelers in the playoffs. Seems to me the Ravens want to dash the Steelers hope now and not have to face them in the playoffs especially the way the Steelers have played in the past 2 weeks. I fully expect the Ravens to go full throttle and come out guns blazing with all hands on deck.

Probably true. I'm leaning toward agreeing with you. Except for Tomlin has had those exact same feels toward Rudolph since the first day. A person don't change feels on another after one little mishap. Tomlin was "looking", "searching", for any reason to finally start displaying those kinds of actions he did. The "Garrett" thing was not the "problem". It was the "scapegoat". But, maybe, just maybe. NOW Rudolph will go from the "yuk" in Tomlin's eyes. To the "savior". Rudolph might take this team so very far. And it will make people stop looking toward Tomlin so sour.
Sad how Garrett said he swung the helmet because Mason used the "N" word. The only thing that was proven was that Garrett was a flat-out LIAR. Of course the NFL never investigated further.

Are we surprised? I'm not. Kenny Pickett sucks. I said it months ago. Canada was only half the problem. But don't forget, and perhaps it's been beneficial as an argument can be made for it, Rudolph is a career 3rd string QB. I'm still gonna root for him, and I would still root for Pickett because I love my team, but seriously, remember that. Career 3rd string. I definitely have more faith in Rudolph against Baltimore than I would with Pickett.
If we had ever seen rudolph under Canada, he would have looked just as bad. Kenny had literally one start without Canada and looked good. The fact that rudolph is looking great and scoring points doesn't mean that Kenny couldn't have been that guy with a couple of weeks of real OC playcalling. He clearly had the necessary elements.
He was only Third string because Tomlin made him third string. Neither of the other two quarterbacks ever really showed they were better than Mason in camp. But everyone had their minds made up because of game results and not player stats. If the Seahawks would have scored 40 points on us, everyone would have blamed Mason for losing that game. That’s basically what happened in the Lions game.
If only Mason had got his chance sooner, we might not have to rely on other teams to once again help get the team to the playoffs. The offence has definitely found a spark with him behind center. I'm amazed at his poise in the pocket as well. Not running around for his life.....like Trubisky and to a degree Pickett. He gets the ball out pretty quick, and his mostly accurate. Good combination for success.

Mike Tomlin saw it fit to start Trashbisky for two games over Mason. Tomlin is no genius and doesn't deserve a pat for doing what should've been done.
He was stating down a 7-10 finish if Mason didn't ball out. He's been saved from his own incompetence.

OK this is the first time I've agreed with tomlin in a long time. Everyone needs to stop hating Kenny. He had ONE start without Canada and looked great. He needed a few more weeks to iron out the red zone issues etc, but we should be happy that we actually have 2 good options at qb. If Kenny came back, he'd play great. We know this because the only evidence we have shows this.

OK, can we all just admit something? We really don’t care who is the quarterback as long as they are being highly successful and winning games, right? I mean seriously if the kicker had to play quarterback and threw for 450 yards and scored 4 to 5 touchdowns, we would be asking for him to be starting quarterback immediately. Let’s just admit as fans that we are just fickle and don’t care who the person is just what they can do for us and the team. Honestly, if Mason went down, and Kenny started playing out of his mind, we would be pro Kenny all of a sudden.
^This is the absolute truth and one I have been saying for a few weeks now. After Mitch's second bad game, fans started cheering for Mason all of a sudden, but it wasn't because they really really wanted him to be the QB. It was because they had no other choice, and he was the last option to salvage the season. Coming out of nowhere posting comments like "we always believed in you Mason, you got this!". No. If you truly believed in him like you said, then we should have seen an uproar and rioting when Kenny was drafted, that Mason should start instead. Didn't hear any of that up until now.

Mason Rudolph had several chances in the past and was not performing well enough to secure the job, hence the Pickett draft pick. That was then, this is now. Whatever can be attributed to Mason playing better now, he has clearly shown that he has evolved as a QB and he is playing better than Pickett!
Mason didn’t have great players around him. He played with the backups in the Browns game. Tossed into the Lions game with no practice and there were many drops and fumbles that caused the loss in that game that weren’t his fault.

We won't know if Kenny Pickett is better than he has shown us, POST Matt Canada, we do know he was much improved the one plus game he got a chance to play after Canada's firing, he is going to have to get another chance at it, MAYBE.
However, we do know something about Mason Rudolph, we know from his first year as a starter that he can move the ball, he reads progressions well and has a quick release, strong arm. We knew back in 2019 that he can MOVE THE BALL DOWNFIELD better than Kenny Pickett ever has.
His brain injury likely changed a few things and he had one really bad game, sort of like every quarterback out there.
The one thing we do see that is different, so far is interceptions, he seems to be smarter today than his first year starting and we should expect that.
As for this next game, against Baltimore, there is no team out there playing better than Baltimore right now, Lamar Jackson is absolutely torching defenses and the Baltimore defenders are making things absolutely a minefield for quarterbacks, what did Brock Purdy have, 4 interceptions?
So, do I expect Mason to blow out the Ravens? NO, nobody is blowing out the Ravens right now, the Ravens are blowing everyone out.
So, ASSUMING the Ravens play their starters for the last game, I expect a really, really challenging time for a Steeler team whose defense is, seriously, a patchwork of last minute fill ins picked out of a grocery store line and asked to play football. Lamar Jackson should be able to tear this defense up and the Ravens defense is likely to bring Mason bad news all day long.
However, I am a Steeler fan, so, I hope for big plays on the defense to slow them down, and Mason playing like his career is on the line.

Canada was half the problem. Watch film and you’ll see that Pickett was the other half of the problem. Missed reads, bailing out of a clean pocket when there’s no pressure, forcing the ball, staring down your intended receiver, the list goes on. Pickett needs a lot of work to be a QB1 in this league. Rudolph is not only the better QB, but a much better leader and you see the results on the field. Let’s not forget that the playbook hasn’t changed since firing Canada.
