As a football coach myself, I can tell you with absolute certainty. Fans only see like 10% probably less of the actual coaching that a head coach coaches. Players see like 80 - 85% of what the Head coach does. It’s simple… people who see Coach T the most *see* who and what he is. The average fans don’t really get to see enough of him to know him. So to act as if you know what is not possible for them to see… that speaks more about the haters than anything else.
every new coach , drafted , Vet , new player , GM and or former player returning to any NFL team Jumps thru these Hoops it is part of the deal from Top to Bottom a New Draftee will say the same Kind Words it is practically a script these days to pretend it is more than that just listen to Russ Wilson and his welcome to Seattle presser or his welcome to Denver Presser and his welcome to Pittsburgh presser same with Fields . Pickett said all the same words when he got drafted and said the same things in his Philadelphia presser . Tom Brady did the same thing when he went to Tampa Bay . Not ironically Smith said the same scripted words of praises for the Atlanta owner and the players he had there , what did the reported expect to hear . . . the same old scripted Lines . You can take any NFL player or head Coach and as soon as the ink is on the contract the scripted words start to Flow praises for all . and they will do it over and over thru out there career and once Tomlin leaves he will say the same words of Love to the next team he get a contract from he will sound like a New Man and if Russ or Fields get traded they will do the same exercise with there next teams period . even the Reporters allowed in the room Know what there allowed to ask or There Not in The Room there there to Sell the Story there isnt any ground breaking interviews these days the Sports media has a Narrative to stick to and that is Selling the NFL brand or there Outta There
Say what you will about Mike Tomlin, but you can TELL he has earned the respect of the coaches and players on this team, and its not because hes a "losing coach"
Many changes have been made around Tomlin the last couple off seasons. We know how Omar and Andy have been doing. Let's see how Smith, Zach, Tom and a few new scouts do. They all work together with Tomlin to try and put a group of players together that is capable of winning playoff games. I hope this group is better
