Watch the All 22 and it clearly shows his first read wasn’t there but CA III was wide open to his left and Najee was wide open to his right and both were walk-in TD’s. But he panicked and ran through the pocket and got creamed. His injury was self induced due to panicking instead of reading his options.

That being said, 1 of Masons TDs was completely GP. If you look at the stats, they played pretty equal(besides the one insane catch where GP barely got his feet in, which should have been a better ball) Pretty sure Mason only had 3 completions over 10 air yards, with multiple missed deep balls that Kenny would have been crucified for.

I've seen him miss or just flat-out not even see wide open receivers far too many times to chalk it all down to Canada being a peewee coordinator with an NFL job. He also shows zero chill in the pocket, and gets happy feet after just a second of scanning the field and not finding someone open. I want this kid to succeed. I want him to become the face of the franchise, because he seems like a swell guy. That is a ridiculous comment. How many QB's have the Browns drafted since returning in '99, 26? Quarterbacks are a roll 0f the dice, a gamble. Sure they can look great in college, run a pro offense, pass for 42 touchdowns in a season, and some succeed and others don't for whatever reason. They sure picked a good one in 04. Mason was drafted in the 3rd round as a backup. He was never drafted to take over for Ben when he retired. He was to be the next Landry Jones (Bens backup).. The only reason he got ANY STARTS, is because Ben went out for the 2019 season in week two. It didn't take long, five games and Rudy was benched for Duck Hodges. He cracks under pressure and throws picks.. The "Masonites" have brain fog and rose colored glasses. We will find out Sunday if Mason has it, because it is the hardest place to play in the NFL.
