Your boot video's have opened my eyes to a new world of work boots. My next pair of work boots will likely be a custom made boot from Nicks. I was on the hunt for a replacement boot 3 weeks ago. I ended up buying a pair of Carolinas using my measurements at home. My foot is 10 2E & it just so happened they had my exact size this time. I did the break in using Obenauf's "1st time using it". I did 2 coats of oil & 2 coats of LP. I gave my Neatsfoot Oil away!! I will be using exclusively Obenauf's from here on out. 1 week in these Carolinas & they feel like tennis shoes on my feet!! Thank you so much for the video on Obenauf's!!! Truly the best stuff ive ever used on my boots!! I enjoy watching all your videos & dropped your channel's name when i left my review at Obenauf's. I cant thank you enough for turning me on to Obenauf's!! I have a favorite pair of Cody James harness boots i wear when im riding motorcycle. They were starting to look pretty rough after 2 years on the road. Gave them the Obenauf's treatment & they look brand new again. I was extremely impressed by the outcome.

My answer to you riddle,"a mountain" A very good series on the care and feeding of boots. I really enjoyed it and learned a whole bunch of things I never knew before. Thank you for all the information.and making it interesting at the same time.PS.I've been a fan of JRR Tolkien since the early 1960's when a friend of mine after hearing a was crazy about science fiction and fantasy gave me the first part of the Lord Of Rings. I thought I had died and went to heaven when I found out there were 2 more parts to the Lord Of Rings plus a book called the Hobbit. Here I thought that I came up with a mountain on my own and it was after reading the other comments that ,it came from the Hobbit. Dang mind works in mysterious ways.

You can't beat a pair of nice fitting quality boots. I bought one pair of cheap work boots from Walmart 12 years ago, and by the end of my first work day my feet, knees and back were killing me. That was enough for me, the next day I went out and bought some quality boots and have never looked back. Sure they're more expensive but man does my body ever thank me, especially when I'm coming up on the 11hr mark at work. I wish more people would consider buying nicer work boots, instead of going with the cheap Walmart boots, but I guess that will be a lesson they'll learn further down the road.

Good to hear the review on the boots, not sure if I would want the thinner sole but it all depends on what you use the boots for. I always say spend more money now buy something good or spend a lot later and buy a lesser quality item.

I emailed Adam to see if he did steel toes (requirement in most Canadian shops and fabrication classes I am taking) and indeed he does. Next pair will be custom Adam's for Mr. Adams! My last pair of $100 Made in China boots lasted me 6 months so if it lasts 20 years it would be well worth the $500 or $600. I current have a pair of STC boots made in Canada and they are really nice but not custom and if I had to guess from others will last about a year or two with how much I wear them.

Well I actually filiped a coin to decide between Whites and Nicks and got a pair of Whites a while back. LOVE THEM! When Adem first talked to you as you were measuring for fit, he said he was getting "four and a half" for his boots. That's quite a jump to $600. They do look good tho.

I'm going with Mountains for the riddle. I am a big believer in the honor system myself. The other night after a long day of house and yard work I took my brother to the local watering hole and we played a couple games of pool. He kept wanting to tell me every shot he was gonna take and I just kept saying I trust ya, if you miss just let me know its my turn. I have always played this way and the few times someone tries to get over on me I can normally tell because they act like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.

To help some with an example .
I bought some new balance shoes for the work I do, they are waterproof shoes which I need.
$170 shoes, the soles didn't last 4 months without the adhesive beginning to fail, and now at 9 months they're all but completely loose from the shoes.
I'm INCREDIBLY disappointed , I have work boots for hard work, so I use them for the real nitty gritty.
I would love these in a shoe form maybe even a 5" boot.
$200 per year on shoes is OLD news

The boots look beautiful. I've been a tree climber since 1994 used Redwing climbing boots most of the time. I bought a pair of Wesco's and they were almost unusable. Then I came across a pair of Haix boots. They are the most comfortable and durable boots by far. They also have chain saw cut protection built in and are waterproof. Have you tried them?
