Hello from Colorado! Always appreciative of your service as a wildland firefighter, and all other firefighters everywhere. Thank you!
Yes! Thank you. I am one of those who has been waiting patiently for this review update.
You walk the talk. Excellent review...super appreciated. Over 25 years with White's here.
Mountains! Thanks for all the videos you provide for us; I look forward to them every time!
My wife and I have been watching you guys for at least seven or eight months, thank you for sharing your family, and what you do around your property, we look forward to many more video's cheers, from Nelson NZ
wranglerstar What an amazing pair of boots that will last you a lifetime through many miles! Wish those old ones could talk and tell their story!
A mountain. I have to thank my son for the answer as he stumped me with the same riddle several months ago.
Loved the review. As always a job well done my friend.
Ron
Wow that's really great to hear and see! Thanks for the update!!!!
Mr. Wranglerstar I appreciate the way you choose the words you use carefully. I run into too many people that do not say what they mean. Thank you for not being one of them.
Your boot video's have opened my eyes to a new world of work boots. My next pair of work boots will likely be a custom made boot from Nicks. I was on the hunt for a replacement boot 3 weeks ago. I ended up buying a pair of Carolinas using my measurements at home. My foot is 10 2E & it just so happened they had my exact size this time. I did the break in using Obenauf's "1st time using it". I did 2 coats of oil & 2 coats of LP. I gave my Neatsfoot Oil away!! I will be using exclusively Obenauf's from here on out. 1 week in these Carolinas & they feel like tennis shoes on my feet!! Thank you so much for the video on Obenauf's!!! Truly the best stuff ive ever used on my boots!! I enjoy watching all your videos & dropped your channel's name when i left my review at Obenauf's. I cant thank you enough for turning me on to Obenauf's!! I have a favorite pair of Cody James harness boots i wear when im riding motorcycle. They were starting to look pretty rough after 2 years on the road. Gave them the Obenauf's treatment & they look brand new again. I was extremely impressed by the outcome.
Yay! Thanks Wranglerstar. I enjoy your boot videos. Time to start saving....
It is great to see younger people get into these trades. So many are retiring.
Sir you have some of the best videos on RUclips! Keep the good work!
Thanks for the update on the boots.
I've been waiting for this video since they came in! Glad you did take your time though! Can't solve that riddle.
Every time I watch a Wranglerstar video it reminds me to take care of something I already own and have lying around. :)
Great review and appreciate that you took your time to do a thorough job before expressing your opinion.
My answer to you riddle,"a mountain" A very good series on the care and feeding of boots. I really enjoyed it and learned a whole bunch of things I never knew before. Thank you for all the information.and making it interesting at the same time.PS.I've been a fan of JRR Tolkien since the early 1960's when a friend of mine after hearing a was crazy about science fiction and fantasy gave me the first part of the Lord Of Rings. I thought I had died and went to heaven when I found out there were 2 more parts to the Lord Of Rings plus a book called the Hobbit. Here I thought that I came up with a mountain on my own and it was after reading the other comments that ,it came from the Hobbit. Dang mind works in mysterious ways.
Don't know the answer this time. Fantastic video today! I really enjoyed it.
Love all of the videos!! Have a great day and God Bless!!
I love the boot videos! Thinking about buying a pair of White's pretty soon.
Thanks for the review Cody... I appreciate you opinions.
My guess is mountains or skyscrapers. I also have a pair of whites and love them dearly! From how it sounds Adam's look great and I hope you get manny good years out of them.
I am catching up on your videos following a trip to Florida to attend my brother-in-law's funeral and helping my oldest son following his lower back fusion. (The death and the surgery happened on the same day.)
I have been meaning to comment on your new prolog screen with the crossed axes: very nice, I like it a lot.
it's a mountain! I love that riddle!!
You know whats cool? How i can watch tons of other videos on youtube and i never even think twice about liking those videos, even though i did in fact enjoy watching them. It's the small reminder that you give me to think, "did i actually like this video?" that gets me to like the video. Kudos to you Wranglerstar for continuing to demand only the best from your viewers. Love your channel!!
That riddle is in The Hobbit. The first novel I ever read and still one of my all time favorites!
good info. will be watching the boot care video next. thanks
You can't beat a pair of nice fitting quality boots. I bought one pair of cheap work boots from Walmart 12 years ago, and by the end of my first work day my feet, knees and back were killing me. That was enough for me, the next day I went out and bought some quality boots and have never looked back. Sure they're more expensive but man does my body ever thank me, especially when I'm coming up on the 11hr mark at work. I wish more people would consider buying nicer work boots, instead of going with the cheap Walmart boots, but I guess that will be a lesson they'll learn further down the road.
The Riddle is one that is in the JRR Tolkien book The Hobbit:)
Good to hear the review on the boots, not sure if I would want the thinner sole but it all depends on what you use the boots for. I always say spend more money now buy something good or spend a lot later and buy a lesser quality item.
i really enjoy you'r boot vids.
Looks great!
I emailed Adam to see if he did steel toes (requirement in most Canadian shops and fabrication classes I am taking) and indeed he does. Next pair will be custom Adam's for Mr. Adams! My last pair of $100 Made in China boots lasted me 6 months so if it lasts 20 years it would be well worth the $500 or $600. I current have a pair of STC boots made in Canada and they are really nice but not custom and if I had to guess from others will last about a year or two with how much I wear them.
that actually explains a lot i wondered if you were a full time youtuber or had a job and fire fighter explains how you can do both. anyway thanks for the great videos and please stop tempting me with your Benchmade it looks so great.
talked to Adam today about getting a pair of boots. there is a 40 week wait. He sounds like he is very busy. Good boots take time.
I put in an order nearly two years ago and am still waiting. no idea what's going on with my pair.
Thanks for the boot update. Now it's time to bother you for a review of that husqy axe in the background! ;)
been wearing buffaloes ,hawthornes ,whites for 40 years welder, constuction always worth the money I like heavy boots builds leg muscles thanks for your chanel
I just spoke with Adam last week and mine are only 1 1/2 months away. I asked him what the lead time is now. He responded, 18 months. Boy am I glad I got mine ordered when I did.
Well I actually filiped a coin to decide between Whites and Nicks and got a pair of Whites a while back. LOVE THEM! When Adem first talked to you as you were measuring for fit, he said he was getting "four and a half" for his boots. That's quite a jump to $600. They do look good tho.
I love any video that shows me a good product that will last me a very long time :)
It's a mountain! I read LOTR in middle school I remember it!
Yes, more boot stuff!
I'm going with Mountains for the riddle. I am a big believer in the honor system myself. The other night after a long day of house and yard work I took my brother to the local watering hole and we played a couple games of pool. He kept wanting to tell me every shot he was gonna take and I just kept saying I trust ya, if you miss just let me know its my turn. I have always played this way and the few times someone tries to get over on me I can normally tell because they act like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar.
Good for you.
I'm jealous of those boots , I think I'm in need of a new pair of boots ;) .
A mountain, JRR Tolkins' Hobbit. It was my Dad's and is my favorite book.
Cool boots
!!!
Nice video. Thanks 😊
Beautiful boots ..sincerely a nice boot
What excites me about Adam's boots is that he is young, and trying to innovate. I have two pairs of White's boots, and love them both. But they are really to heavy for the summer, You burn up in them.
My first "good" pair of boots were Whites, but I've been wearing Nicks "Hot Shots" for several years now. I just ordered a pair of steel toe boots (Franks). According to my local shoe guy, Whites aren't what they use to be.
A mountain or a sky scraper...one of those two!:)
First thought is a mountain. Look like some great boots. I would like to get a pair for my dad but they are pretty high.
The answer to your riddle is Mountains! I remember reading that in the hobbit as a kid
A mountain, I'm not sure if I solved it or just remembered it from reading The Hobbit
I love my Nicks boots. But, would be willing to try a pair.
To help some with an example .
I bought some new balance shoes for the work I do, they are waterproof shoes which I need.
$170 shoes, the soles didn't last 4 months without the adhesive beginning to fail, and now at 9 months they're all but completely loose from the shoes.
I'm INCREDIBLY disappointed , I have work boots for hard work, so I use them for the real nitty gritty.
I would love these in a shoe form maybe even a 5" boot.
$200 per year on shoes is OLD news
I'll be checking out the care and feeding videos.
My guess is "mountains".
Mountainses precious MOUNTAINSES!
same riddle Smeagol used against Frodo, nice! :)
Agree 100percent good boot are the most important
Have you thought of making your own leather treatments and glues Cody? Great use for all that beeswax, pine resin and so on that you have. Very educational for Jack too.
Just a thought, my lass loved it at Jacks age.
The problem is.... Mountains do grow. Great riddle though. Adam needs to get a website. Love the boots.
The boots look beautiful. I've been a tree climber since 1994 used Redwing climbing boots most of the time. I bought a pair of Wesco's and they were almost unusable. Then I came across a pair of Haix boots. They are the most comfortable and durable boots by far. They also have chain saw cut protection built in and are waterproof. Have you tried them? Keep up the great vids!
Family! Family roots. The family tree is ever growing.
Nice a quote! JRR Tolken.. A mountain
GREAT VIDEO
Back in 1982 I worked as a bus driver for Fire crews I got a pair RedWing fire fighter boots structure fire fighter not wild land steel cap and steel floor shanks in bottom paid $80.00 and $25.00 for speed zippers used them for 30 years had them resoled 2x at $90.00 total $195.00 for 30 years of service less than $10.00 a year good boots pay You back. The boots would polish up nice enough I could wear them to Church
I own a pair of Timberland Pro pit bosses. I've had a few pairs of them but only because I've outgrown them. They're an older pair and I like it because the new ones are "preppy" and built with less quality. I've never worn out a pair. If you don't have $400, look into the Timberland pro pit boos series.
Langdon Harris don't talk about timberlands in this comment section... it's disrespectful!
I'm so ready to order a pair, until I realized I'm broke.
Offer a military discount haha?
I suffer from an addiction called "Backpacking"'.
+Nix Adventures I just use some 50$ Caterpillar boots I found used on ebay. Still going strong after 3 years haha. Sure they are REALLY heavy but it builds character!
A mountain. That riddle was from The Hobbit, excellent book by J.R.R. Tolkien. The new movies are pretty decent as well.
I was thinking the answer for the riddle was Family, but it does grow.
For the riddle, I don't know if it is correct but the first thing that came to my mind is Family.
Hi Cody!
I own 3 pairs of expensive boots that really need some care. I'm looking for good products to take care of them for years now.
Problem is: my boots all have a gore tex liner and i don't want to risk to close the pores of the leather.
Do you have any idea if Obenauf's products can be used for boots with gore tex?
(I'm from Germany and I don't want to pay the shipment if not necessary.)
Thanks
rocky mountains great vid.
I knew the other riddle immediately but this one............HONESTLY.........I don't have a CLUE! Thanks for the boot update.
Right? Me too! Other folks are saying mountain. And that it is a quote. I thought skyscraper.
Wicked tuff!
I love riddles! The answer is a mountain :)
We want part 2! And the answer is "a mountain".
Hey Cody just passing through some of your videos of your boots and I was wondering what you thought of Hoffman or Wesco boots? I've owned a pair of Hoffman 10" powerline boots for about 3 years and my dad has owned a pair Wesco's for about 45 now ever have any experience with either company before?
continued: absolutely, you sold me, im buying the adams next go on the foot covers
That would be a Mountain Wranglerstar!
Sorry to burst your bubble, Mr. Wranglerstar, but on your recommendation I ordered a pair of Adam's Boots and got a pretty much identical shampoo bottle filled with leathery goodness.
LOL, I'm glad to hear this. Adam is a good guy.
Philip Crow i
fyi, over 7 months out on my order. but im sure it will be worth the wait.
I have a riddle: What was the melted beeswax for in the timber frame video? (grin)
I'm trying to get that video out. I only have 6 min of footage, not quite enough to upload,
Possibly to apply to the end of the wood to keep it from drying out I don't know just a guess hey how's that Husqvarna doing ?
its to slow down the drying of the timber so that it cures with a minimum of checks, shakes and splits.
um ... penis?
I mean this in a good way, but your a very intense individual. Thanks for the review and setting the standard.
Good luck with the honor system :)
Just curious, was the tall heel on Adam's boots something you specifically wanted and why? They're just taller than I normally see/wear in a leather boot.
im glad to see you have the husqvarna carpenters axe great axe great price ! :)
I've gone through the same analysis regarding a string trimmer purchase. Pay $300+ for a quality machine that lasts 9+ years or buy a $99 machine that might last 3 years.
The quality and usability of the more expensive machine far exceeds that of the lower priced one. Same money but triple value in my opinion.
Awesome review of the boots. How about a review of that carpenters axe
I'm just wondering. What makes these (this kind of) boots (besides the may be a little better fit) superior to, lets say, the HAIX Fire Eagle. The HAIX are made specifically for fire fighting and weight in at a about 2pounds per boot.
Lol so what kind of bed do you sleep in lol..just kidding ..love your videos they educate and relax me
I would like to see a new boot cleaning video
You still have Wescos, right? Why aren't they in the video? I'm on my second pair of firestormers and I love them for fire
Ounces lead to pounds, pounds lead to pain. Im gonna have to buy some Adam boots now
Mt. Fuji! Lol. Just watched and yes, you are a Tolkien fan! Either that or you are Golem!
When you buy your Obenaufs do you buy it from a store in town or online?
It's a Mountain. Perhaps the even the Lonely Mountain? Thanks for the review Cody.
I know this is an older video...but the answer to the riddle is: Mountain (From The Hobbit - Riddles In The Dark w/ Gollum)
+Gregory Thomas :)
+Wranglerstar But mountain grows, because of tectonic plates. Hehe. Love the videos.
