Bad boots break. Good boots break in. I would argue that good boots are less expensive and hurt your feet way less over the length of time you wear them.

This. Break your new boots in gradually and casually before you need to replace the old ones. You get no manliness prize for needlessly murdering your feet on 3-4 10+ hr shifts at work. Smarter- not harder

My first good leather boots were $350 redwing iron rangers. I loved them so much I would wear them to walk around the block, anywhere I was going even work. They broke in so amazingly well. I took a picture of the inside of my boot with flash after 6 months and you could see a perfect darkened foot imprint, if you reach ur hand in there you can feel around the toes and it’s perfectly molded to ur foot once u break it in. That’s why leather boots are so uncomfortable for the first month because it’s a flat surface that has yet to be molded specifically for you :)

Ballistol works wonders. Cures, seals, and protects the leather. I always spray some on my boots and wipe it around the entire boot. Let it soak and then wear them. Really loosens up the leather and helps the break in process. I use it on my western boots, my knives, my firearms, and my tools. Look it up, it’s great stuff. Good for wood tables too!
Ultimately you just have to wear them though so they form to your foot. These things HELP but they are not the end all be all. Gotta wear them for a few weeks of work and let them do their thing.

If you're really having issues to the point that it might be a a slight sizing issue I'd consider a boot stretcher before giving up. I had to stretch an old pair of cowboy boots I inherited that bunched my toes up really tight and it fixed the problem completely after a few attempts

I've found that IF my footgear are all leather, I'm money ahead. Bick4 leather conditioner not only feeds the leather, it softens the leather, but it does not darken the leather. I slather a good amount of Bick4 conditioner into them (inside and out) and have found the wear-in process is much easier on my hooves. Softened leather molds to your hooves sooner than dry/stiff leather does.

I'm on my first pair of real leather boots. About a month in so far the only part of me that has been sore are my shins and achilies area because I had never worn boots that went this high on my leg. The leather is softening though so it's going away.

Maaan, you gotta understand that alot of us work for a living, and depend on our boots to provide comfort and protection, I don't need to be worrying about my boots or suffering from them, because the nature of the job is hostile by default, so I don't need my feet to be miserable for a period of time, especially with current technology advancements, there are sooo many boots out there that require close to no breaking in period! I understand old men saying that you have to suffer to break in your boots, same guys did it the hard way and had knee, hip and shoulder replacement surgeries, while the smart way is to take care of your body so it outlasts your career!
