Adam is 100% correct about fit. I have a horrible first experience with Whites boots coming in way too small. My wife works for a podiatrist and measures feet everyday for orthodics so I know she did a good job measuring.
For the record, in case folks want to find Adam as easy as possible, his shop is actually called "Open Road Custom Boots" and I love his Facebook page, which you link to in the description. I sure hope someday I can afford a pair of these for my own. Great workmanship and attention to detail.

My wife and I have been talking about boots for me lately. I go through a pair of Red Wings every year to a year and a half and I am getting tired of it. The inside liner just starts to fall apart and at 225.00 for a pair of boots that I am getting a year out of is unacceptable to me. My wife gave me the O.K. I'm going to give Adam a call this week. Thank you for letting me know about him.

Great videos with all your boots. I went back to review this one after watching Nicks Boots. Pretty tough to decide on. Your nicks video made me feel like making a trip to get some new boots. I live near adams. I may have to start there. Maybe then i would feel comfortable in trying the size at home at home method and then order.

Cody, I hope you keep us posted when you get the boots and have a chance to try them out. You know really, you have to feel good about supporting another American in these tough times. 450$ is a lot to pay but you know that money will stay here in the US and he really seems like a nice guy to boot. In the long run you will pay less than a knot head like me that has been buying Walmart special and crying like a baby when my feet hurt at the end of the day. Dr. Scholes can only do so much. If they work out well for you I will take the plunge and get myself a pair too. Thanks for another great Video.

The Redwings outlet store near where we live is hands down the best place my husband has ever bought his steel toed work boots - and the only place he has ever had both of his feet properly measured for a pair of boots.

Good deal. I have heard of him before. I got a custom pair of boots made they are called Hoffman's. They are made in Idaho. They are some comfortable durable boots. I wear them everyday out in the woods. Have had them for about 9 years now.
This will be interesting to see how this works out.

My Whites Boots are one of the best investments I've ever made. I was going to buy a backup pair soon but if these boots are better i want to know. i'll wait and try these ones if that's the case. Ill never go back to buying cheap shoes ever again. You have me hooked for life on proper boots Cody!

You should do a whole video on how to dress like a wranglerstar. Cover all aspects from head and hearing protection, types of shirt, brands, material, etc. Do the same for underwear, socks, pants, boots, etc. You touched on it some in your bugout bag video and it was very informative.
I just found a place I can actually touch and try on Filson, looking forward to that trip!! I'm all about a quality boot! I've never heard of "Whites" and I'm looking forward to seeing the hand made ones! From the quick searches I've just done, seems they a neck in neck on price.
when i served in the army, it was common practice to run over boots with a humvee to break them in. guess thats more or less the dumbest thing to do to a pair of boots.

USA made Chippewa Super Loggers Insulated and Regular Non Insulated USA made Chippewa 10 inch Loggers are the best boots I've owned. Just had to buy a replacement pair of the non insulated loggers but that was due to the ex not sending back lol.
Can get both from around $175 to $195 a pair. Used for farming, logging, etc.
Will these boots be the ones used on the Wranglerstar Action Figure? Lol, I sure the gentleman teaches his trade to a hopeful successor.

Why are people fussing about the price of these? Yes, they're more expensive than off the shelf boots, but they also aren't off the shelf boots. For someone like me it would take a couple months of minding my expenses, not going out to eat and saving up to be able to afford something like this, but it would be worth it.
The guy making these seems pretty honest and anything built to your exact fit is always going to cost more money.
Like others have mentioned you're not sending money out of the country for what's most likely chinese made shoes, someone is plying his craft in making these for you.
These boots would likely last the average person their lifetime.
Cody, if you do a followup video on unboxing and wearing them, as a viewer mentioned below, please break them in well before commenting on their fit and feel. New shoes, especially work boots, require a fairly long period of breaking in before they are truly comfortable. [ Perhaps I make that comment because I've never had a pair of custom fitted boots!?! ]
Re longevity: When I was 15 yrs old (ca. 1962) I bought a pair of paratrooper boots from an army surplus store. I bought them for use in my ROTC program in high school. Those were the best fitting boots I've ever had. I re-soled (not "rebuilt") them four times in 20+ yrs. The uppers literally rotted from age. I've NEVER had a pair of boots that fit so well and lasted so long. On the other hand, I've never paid close to $500 for a pair of boots. Maybe I will now.
I gave up on the redwings and the irish setters. I switched to chippewas and im sold. They cost a bit more but they outperform all other boots i have owned. This has given me something to think about though. I would like to have a nice pair of non steel toe at the house to slip into when i cut wood and ready the hunting stands.

i wont say they are the best boots ever made. simply because i have not worn every boot. but from my experience i have loved my red wing boots. i get the ones made completely in the usa and they last for years. the only reason i have 2 pairs is simply because i wanted to get a new pair after wearing the first set for 5 years. the ones from 2008 are still perfectly serviceable. im not the hardest on my boots but they are worn every day and i am still satisfied. and very comfortable!!!!!
I buy redwings but I can never get much more then a year out of them. I don't even wear them everyday.

I work in all types of weather from the heat of summer to the rain and snow. If they are all leather now do you keep your feet dry in the rain and snow with out some sort of waterproof liner? I currently wear Chippewa super loggers and for not being custom fit they ate the best I have ever worn. They have a steel shank steel toe and a water proof liner. Does whites make them with steel toes?

I never wanted tall lace up boots because it looks like your feet would sweat like crazy and it's over 100 all summer down here. Do you find them sweaty.

cody i used to have my boots made in kellog idaho by a very old man that made boots for both miners and loggers he is long gone now but there is nothing better than a custom made boot it will handle several resoleing and many repairs tell me how these boots hold up your friend in christ brian in wa.

I have some elk hide chaps and they are the best. Elk hide is a no brainer! The question is, do you want a chevy or a caddy? Good boots and shoes are a must. That's the only pair of feet you have and it pays to take care of them. Pay now or pay later!
Ok from what I saw he got your left foot measured. What about the right foot? Your feet aren't necessarily the same size, Close admittedly but not exact or does that matter?

I would love to get some custom fitted boots but working in mining and running through oil, diesel, grease, and other chemicals i cant justify the price tag for how long the leather will hold up. Ill just stick with my once a year danners.
I've never had any luck with my work boots. many posters here have mentioned how good wolverines are and i have to agree with them, wolverines are the boots that have lasted me the longest. right now i have 2 pairs and 1 will be replaced this fall (unless the other starts falling apart). i had a pair of ariats fall apart 2 months after buying them, replaced 3 pairs of redwings after only 1 year each. so not only are my feet killing me, but they kill my boots and wallet too.
for the past 4 years I've been buying 2 pairs of work boots every year and switching back and forth between them every other day to make them last as long as i can. what i think is strange is that its the inside that wears out the fastest almost all the time.
i might just have to give custom made boots a shot. as is i spend more than $300 a year on boots, so if a $450-500 pair will last 2 years…
by the way, I'm an almond and walnut farmer in central california. I've asked around and all us farmers tend to go through boots very quickly

I am interested in these custom made boots. Please make more videos and keep us updated on these. $450 is not bad at all for that kind of customer service. I am paying about $300-350 right now, and that is for regular store bought boots, not custom quality. I am more interested in a industrial type sole versus the outdoor type sole. I have other boots for hiking and general outdoor use. I do not know if he offers anything like that. Thanks
