I got a belly button piercing when I was 16 for my bday from my parents. My body rejected it and after it "fell out" and healed, my dad's bright idea was to go get it done again behind the scar so it's deeper and it does not "fall out" again. Took me to the same place and they did not say anything to us about my body rejecting it and totally re-peirced it. Needless to say, I learned about rejection the hard way because it finished rejecting it again a month later lol. Wish I would have seen this video way back than. Would have saved me a lot of time and pain and money. I also wouldn't have my huge scar. 😮💨🤦♀️
I just took my belly button piercing out yesterday because I had noticed that it had migrated quite a bit since I had gotten it pierced. It did great for most of the time I had it but for the past two weeks it was pitching a constant fit with me even though I was cleaning it every day, so I decided to take it out and I’ve decided that I’m going to try to get it redone in a year or so. It was my absolute favorite piercing so it made me so sad that I had to take it out😢
@@Joshy24 I let it heal for about a year and got it repierced this past fall. It’s doing a lot better this time. I changed how I cleaned it and what I cleaned it with and I got it pierced with a different type of metal and bar.
My navel piercing rejected. It was pierced through scar tissue from an appendectomy and it failed. I miss it but would not get it again. I have thirteen other piercings in my ears including lobes and none of them (knock on wood) have rejected. Just one of those things you have to know about.
I got an eyebrow piercing in October 2016 and after a year, I felt it never fully healed. There still seemed to be some puss oozing from the holes in the piercing. In my naivety, I did foolishly get it pierced with spikes on the end causing it to snag on towels more frequently. I retired it after a year, but got it re-pierced on November 1, 2023 with ball studs. I think it's healed way better. Only once in a while do I feel some discomfort, but I can rub my face with towels and sleep on my face without issue.
I had my navel piercing for a year and one day I was a party and my jewelry fell out and it was 11:00 at night so I couldn’t call my mom so I waited to the next day and called her and she came to give me a ring so I can put it back in and we couldn’t get back in it had closed... I was devastated but I’m getting re-Pierced soon.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR TALK ABOUT THIS TOPIC, I was looking for information on this and there is not much to see, I had the eyebrow piercing and exactly what you said happened so i had yo remove it, recently i made it again but in other place (at next of the first), i really love this piercing but the scar of the past...💀💀
My piercer said I could change my nostril jewelry to a hoop after 2 months. It rejected then after about 2 weeks. Had to get it pierced again. He put my original stud back in and now it’s all healed.
My rook starting to reject after I woke up with it infected one day so I waited for the infection to go away and had it removed, 2 months since it was removed and the hole was infected yesterday....pain in the ass to heal even without jewelry and I have 28 piercings
i'm not 100% sure but i think my rook is rejecting as well due to it being pierced too shallow (just last december). should i take it out on my own? can i still get it redone?
I had my navel piercing for about 5 months. Healing went perfectly until the 3rd month, no issues at all. After that I slowly started seeing more bar, but these do tend to migrate a bit. When I reached the 4th month, I noticed the top getting red around the hole, and it wasn't just irritated, it didn't go away at all, even after weeks. The bottom hole was fine, no issues at all, it was almost completely healed. I figured that it's not the method of cleaning that caused the problem, I only used saline solution. It probably was a metal allergy. The piercer gave me surgical steel as an initial jewelry option. I decided to take it out and let it close up. I still have a red scar there, but maybe it will go away with time. I'm sad I couldn't keep my piercing. I will wait for a few years and maybe give it a second chance since I was in love with it. Hope the second time will be the lucky one.
Not to be weird but do u have pictures of how it looked like when u noticed it was rejecting ? i’m scared of mine rejecting so I wanna see how it would look like
Got my belly piercing 7 months ago the skin is definitely thinner and I found a video I took of it last year November and compared to how it look snow? There’s not a ping in my mind that it’s rejected so I just took it out. It was nice while it lasted, I’m definitely not looking forward to the nasty scar it’s going to leave. I both regret it and don’t regret it. Wish I was one of those lucky people who don’t get problems with their piercings
My navel piercing rejected. The skin in the middle just kept showing more and more of the bar until it just popped right off cause it was so thin. I got it pierced at a reputable place but I think since I was young I didn't care for it correctly.
i had the same problem and the first time I tried my best to take care of it the best but it ripped(after like 1 or 2 months) more than a year later I tried again this time I tried to still take care of it the best as I could BUT I did smoke that time I stopped when I did it the first time and again this time it ripped
I have 30 piercings and none ever rejected and I’m praying they don’t my body takes piercings really well and I heal well too I have two dermals in my face a bridge a Christina and a navel which all are prone to rejection so far so good oh and nipples I guess is a surface piercing and no problems with any
I had my navel pierced like 2 years ago and it rejected cuz the jewelry wasn't good quality, it had something hanging so it was too heavy, and I think it was pierced incorrectly, so even though I took good care of it, it started rejecting and I noticed too late, so it left more noticeable scar A year later after that healed, I went to a more professional place and they said I could get it re pierced, so I did with a titanium kinda dainty piece; I've had it for about 6 months and it hasn't moved from its place, is not fully healed yet, but I haven't had any problems with it aside from a dreaded bump
I had a forward helix that started to reject. It was maybe 6 weeks into healing and had just started doing better then i got it caught on my tshirt one day. Noticed it started looking like it was pushing closer to the edge and was red and irritated so i took it our to prevent worse scarring. Eventually I'll get it repierced but I havent so far
I’ve had 2? Upper helix/cartilage that my ears just were not having. Simply wouldn’t heal, constantly flared etc and had to go. 6/7 others are just fine. Finally after 2 years my conch was just too much work to baby with all its flares and I took it out. My Travis , rooks (2 each) are all great.
I find that all my piercings (except lobes and nostril) start to reject if I don't wear high grade titanium, it sucks. I have had to retire my navel and even though it's stopped migrating I might have to retire my tragus too. 😢 PS - What do you use to colour your eyebrows? They look great! I need to match my hair with my eyebrows, right now I just look odd. 😂
I use eyeshadow! I found a color in one of my palettes that matched pretty well, so I take a tiny brush and fill in my brows with that color whenever I do my makeup.
I've had one of my helix piercings rejected. The spot at the very top of my ear. I didn't notice any signs until it fell out. The earring just "walked" right out. There's a bit of a scar, but only if you look.
My 3rd lobe piecings got rejected. Tried to heal it for a full yr but had to remove them. The back part of my ear lobe was just open skin, swollen and bloody. Truly disgusting. But i got it done on an impulse and it was done with a gun 🙄
I got a horizontal eyebrow piercing and about a month later I knew something was wrong because the skin around the piercing just didn't look right and it was red and dry. My friend got her eyebrow pierced the same day and hers looked totally different from mine. I went back to the piercer and it was definitely rejection and he took it out for me. I was so disappointed I loved it so much I felt like my face was complete with it but as soon as it was out the pain and itching went away. This all just happened so I don't know if it's going to scar. I'm hoping any scarring will be minimal
My naval piecing rejected. I had it for 10 years. Got it hung on something one day and it “ripped” a little. I kept babying it for months thinking it was infected from the trauma. But the holes started getting larger and the jewelry came so close to the skin I could see it through my skin. I finally took it out. Never got it redone. That was quite the ordeal. What piercers do you use in the Richmond area? I’m considering an industrial- but am a little scared due to that experience and the extended healing time they require.
I have had mixed experiences with surface piercings.I had 2 nape piercings and a vertical labret that rejected, but my eyebrows haven't moved at all.I was stubborn and didn't remove the vertical labret so it left a scar but I kinda see it as a scar of experience.I have 2 sets of 2 dots from my napes but they are on the back of my neck wgich is almost never seen
I think I might have gotten a rejection with my first helix piercing, which I thought was an infection that was on and off cus I had it for 4 years. I'm going to see its progress now that I've gotten it repierced again!
Struggling with my new industrial. It's red and swollen no puss no bumps. But I'm worried. It's about to be a week now. Should I not be scared. Should I take it out. I'm new to piercings.
I got my belly button pierced two weeks ago and the skin looks darker and is dry It doesn’t have any of the signs you mentioned but I’m scared it’s rejecting . Should I take it out?
Lol lol!! Don’t do what I do. I thought on of my ear piercings were rejecting (it probably was) I took it out. And for the last few days I would stab it, leave it on for like 20 minutes and take it out again 😂😂 I still have the damn piercings and I just now I realized it’s crooked annnnnd it’s not in line with my others. Soooo hoops are my only option for that one. Because it’s jacked up. Whatever piercings advice I have comes from me doing it the WRONG way lol
Technically, no. It's similar to one because of the piercing holes being on two different areas of skin, but this type of piercing offers more flesh to pierce through than an eyebrow or navel.
My navel piercing took 4 full years to heal completely. There’s hope for everyone 😂
Well dang😂 I think it’s going to be like my nose too
The hoops in the tunnels is such a killer look on you!

I had a Christina reject but not all the way through the skin. It shrank a lot I took it out before it went through my skin
I think my surface Tragus is rejecting after 3 months of having it or it’s irritated because I slept on that side
