I totally agree with this video, I got my daith done about 2 years ago and it was my most painful piercing and was a pain to heal but it’s my favorite piercing I have
I had my daith done by a piercer who knew the placement difference between a regular decorative daith and a migraine daith. I have a serious neurological condition, and I have to admit ever since I’ve had it I’ve had significantly less headaches on the side I’ve gotten it on. My headaches would get so bad I could feel them in my ears. I had a god awful headache on the night it was pierced but never had one that bad since!
Before I talk about my daith, I must know that lipstick and eyeshadow you're wearing? Gorgeous! My daith was one of the first non-lobe piercings I got (I got a helix the same day). I'd heard about the migraine thing, but I thought it was such a beautiful piercing I didn't care if it helped with my chronic migraines or not. It was probably the placebo effect, but I did go about 7 months after getting it pierced without a migraine, which is huge for me considering I can get more than 20 in a month. They have slowly come back, but I don't care because it's still one of my favorite piercings that I have. It did take about 18 months for mine to completely heal, but that was mostly my fault for taking out the jewelry to change it and having a VERY difficult time getting it back in, which would really cause it to flare up again. But now I can change it with ease and I tend to leave rings in for several months at a time. Love your videos!
got my daith very recently! it was 100% my most painful piercing (i have 11 currently) and currently there actually still is a dull pain after a good 5 days! nothing horrid but noticeable. HOWEVER! it is super pretty and i went to a shop that offers hearts for piercings, so now i look extremely cool >:)
I have had my Daith for 4 years now. I never felt pain, just pressure as the needle was pushed through. It never throbbed for the first day or two like my other piercings. It also healed so well, no pain. I have had other cartilage piercings give me some trouble, I have a helix piercing that gets sore if I put a ring through it so I always wear a post earring in that particular piercing. I didn’t get my daith pierced to help with headaches, so I have never really paid attention to keeping track of whether I get less since the piercing. Everyone is different, and I am not pushing it by getting the other side done. I just like the way it looks.
I got mine done late January, I used to have a lot of headaches but it honestly isn't the reason I got it done, I simply liked the look of it so i got it. But when I thought about it a few weeks after I realised I hadn't got any headaches since I got it done. So I don't think it's placebo but I'm riding this wave for as long as I can.
Literally the most painful piercing I've ever got, I was pretty much close feinting (I do have to admit my tolerance for pain is quite low), hope it helps with my migraines, but even if it doesn't, it looks so nice!
My experience was completely the opposite. I got mine pierced yesterday and I didn’t even feel it. If I hadn’t felt his hands moving, I wouldn’t have even known he’d done it. Hopefully it helps with my migraines. If not, I have a new piercing and I’m happy with that.
Got mine done yesterday and I can't even remember what I felt. Definitely not pain. It was quick and painless. I got a Helix piercing right after and I felt that one more.
I've had my daith for about 7 months now, getting my daith pierced didn't hurt as much as I thought it would it definitely hurt more than my helix piercings tho. What actually hurts more is having the patience to wait to change out the jewlry 😩
@@Minuet_B yes, I'm able to use ear phones without any problems. when I do sleep on my side I just lie my head on my arm and rest my ear where there's a gap so its not touching anything if that makes sense.
Great video! I wish there were pictures when you talked about what type of jewelry you can get though, because as a plebe, I didn’t know what most of those words meant
I’m still healing my daith which I coincidentally got in March 2021 when this vid was released! It was very rocky until a month or so ago - I was struggling with the dreaded bump, but it’s calmed down now. I actually switched from saline to an antiseptic skin cleanser which I rub between two cotton balls soaked in warm water and then apply to the piercing area for about 5-10 min twice a day. It’s helped immensely!
I got both ears pierced (both Daith) and I love how they look - this was about a month ago. My piercer asked me if I was comfortable for him to pierce without marking them and I trusted him, they both sit really nicely and I've noticed a reduction in headaches and intensity/pain levels. I usually get one or 2 migraines a month and I haven't had a full on migraine since.
I just got my daith pierced yesterday, and I have to say the pain I experienced from getting it done was more than my pain I had getting my industrial pierced. Industrial was maybe a 5 or 6 and the daith was an 8 or 9, but I love how it looks, so the pain was worth it.
I got my daith pierced last October. Since I have very tiny ears and it's thick cartilage, it definitely hurt a lot for me personally. The first week after I got it pierced I had a dull pain in the back of my ear but it eventually went away within a couple of days. The only issue that I am having now is I have a piercing bump on either side of the piercing site. Currently it's small and hasn't gotten worse so I've just been cleaning it twice a day like normal with my saline solution along with a couple of drops of tea tree oil mixed in. Other than the bump, I haven't had any other problems with it and I am absolutely in love with it.
I got my daith done last Saturday. My sister got her rook and my 12 y.o. daughter got her 3rds too. This video was so helpful beforehand, certainly the knowledge of laying on my side. I went to a local piercer, one I hadn't been to before, but a friend of a friend works(maybe worked) there. Was £36, but the young lad who was doing the piercings was brilliant. At one point, when he was putting one of the bars through my daughter's ear, he dropped something, and instantly cleaned it, even though it just landed on her top. It's small things like this that normally you wouldn't think twice about, that make the difference. Honestly, mine didn't hurt at all, this isn't be trying to be all big, manly and strong, I don't really think I have a high pain tolerance, I am however mentally broken as hell, so wondered if I actually could feel anything, and this just help reaffirm that I don't think I can. But anyway, I LOVE it, can't wait to be able to change it out for something awesome.
I have daith piercings in both ears: in my right side I didn't feel any pain or pressure, just heat! The left one I got 2 months later and I'd say it was a 4/10 on the pain scale. I feel they helped with my migraines! I would usually get them on the right side of the head, until I got my right daith done; and then they began forming in the left side first, so I had to get the left one too. Now I don't really have migraines anymore, just some "medium strength" headaches, so I'm very satisfied :)
Since you got both at the same time , how was sleeping ? Did you just lay on your back for 6mths ? I got my tragus & conch done on the same ear 2wks ago & sleep with a donut pillow cause I NEED to sleep on that side every turn , to avoid skin breakdown due to being quadriplegic . I want the daith on my other ear & I'm wondering if I can still sleep on a donut pillow .
Can actually say this helped mine. Piercer was trained specifically for finding the right pressure point! Had 4 in 3 weeks a while ago and now they are gone, had chiro adjustments along side this!
I got mine pierced today, and so far so good. It really wasn’t painful, just tons of pressure. I did end up passing out because he couldn’t get the jewelry onto the needle and kept moving it. But he slipped it in real quick before I woke back up and all was well. It hasn’t really bled at all. So far I’m completely in love with it but I guess we’ll see how it goes.
Mine bled like no ones business. Piercer "packed" my ear with cotton and it soaked through and dripped down my ear... Not pleasant... Was still getting blood washing out of my ear canal for a week after. Beyond that mine has been healing really well.. It is my absolute favourite of what I have (septum, industrial, couple of helixes and a forward helixl. It just fits the ear so well.
Another add on to the tip of washing your pillowcase regularly, it also helps with clear skin! Also i hear that wearing travel pillows helps you not roll on your ears while youre sleeping
I got mine while living in Mississippi (moved from Indiana). Was not used to weather systems changing so quickly every day and it messed with my head really bad. It helped for a few months but stopped. When I got it removed (left MS and moved to Michigan), the piercer said "it's like any other medication for your body. You use pain meds all the time, your body gets used to it and it stops working."
Mine was super easy and healed great! I was asked to lay down rather than my flat piercing which was done sitting up. I didn’t bleed at all and because it was in my ear it healed easier because I wasn’t laying on it. My piercer said my ears are really small so he had a little difficulty in getting in there to do the piercing but overall no big deal! Great video:).
Currently on day 1 for me.. I got my piercing a few hours ago, I tried cleaning it and I could not for the life of me dig in my tiny ears to give it a proper clean... how did you clean them thoroughly with tiny ears? Cotton swabs are huge for my teeny tiny ears
I just got mine and I love it!! 💕 he did it while I was sitting up and it was my least painful piercing! Crazy thing is I have a industrial, belly, nose & breast & it was the least painful piercing!! All I felt was pressure.
I have chronic migraines and since I’ve gotten mine (about 5 months ago) I’ve had one. I use to have them almost weekly. My piercer said to kind of play with it when you start getting a headache/migraine and it alleviates the pain. It works for me so I hope it works for someone else 🙏🏻💛
I got mine a week and a half ago and it has already shown its power against migraine. I’ve noticed less pain, and also I would always have migraine pain on the right side (or both, but never on the left only) and these days i’ve noticed a sliiight pain only on the left which makes me think it could be the reduction of a “both sides migraine” but it would go away on its own or with simple aspirins. Magical.
@@trinityleeann1126 I still get migraines every once in a while, but less often, and still on the side I don’t have the piercing on. If I get a huuuge one, I do feel pain on the side I have the daith but I used to have 3 of those a week and now I might get one every 2 months or so. Am not sure if it’s all because of the piercing as I detected a big detonator of migraines and I now avoid it, but if I eat it, I don’t get the migraines I used to get before the ring.
I got my daith done two days ago. So far healing has been going well. It is sensitive and sore, but that’s expected. For cleaning, I do a saltwater bath. I get a cup of water and 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Instead of using a shot glass i’ve been using a small kitchen bowl and I’d say it’s worked well.
I just got mine yesterday and it did not hurt even a little bit. It does not hurt now either and it feels so strange cus my forward helix hurt so bad for like two weeks (not when I did it though). I was so worried the daith would be worse and prepared for it so this piercing was a happy surprise 🥳 I hope this healing is smooth!
I've had my daith for 10 days now, and so far, my experience has been good from the beginning. No redness, no swelling and no bleeding, even at the moment of getting it (and I've been very careful with it since then). I wonder if the differences in pain and healing among people have to do with poking a vessel? If the needle goes through it, you would probably bleed and be more prone to infections.
Minr hurt like Fuk!!! Worse pain I have ever had in my life but only lasts 60 seconds or less each ear, BLEEDS HELLA LOT, and you can not lay on your side you need your ears being not touched by anything at all so I hadd sleep flat on my back! I did a shotglass with a cottonball sprayed with saline eash, microwaved til its warm NOT HOT, and DABBED ON EAR TWICE A DAY.
@@alivia_reignz sure! Everything is fine, except from one day that I scratched my ear and forgot it was there 😂 it was a bit sensitive for a while, but that was it. I still clean it carefully, there is no signs of scarring or bumps. If I notice there is build-up in the bar I soak it in saline and then I clean it well. And I can sleep on it with no issues!
@@s.f9305 yes, but I use them with the smallest of the rubber tips. I also found out that the "angled" earbuds tend to sit more comfortably in my ear than the straight ones
My daith piercing has reduced my migraine pain. Usually would get migraines for 2-3 days with the daith it reduces it down to one. But it was pierced wrong and my new piercer couldn't get the jewelry in and I have to wait 6 months for it to heal so I can have him repierce it.
I've suffered from migraines, tension & rebound headaches/migraines from the massive amounts of excedrin I've gobbled down daily for the past 29yrs (yes, I anticipate failing liver/kidneys any day now). Got left daith pierced about 3yrs ago (side where migraines usually are). Didn't expect for it to help very much pain wise, but it was a great excuse to get a cute piercing. It was my 1st in cartilage so I was excited. It did hurt, of course, but the pain was very tolerable (maybe thanks to the yrs of excruciating headaches, they eventually desensitize you to most other types of pain). Truth be told, I didn't take aftercare all that seriously & my new piercing didn't get any special or proper attention. I in no way endorse or recommend taking such a stupidly ignorant approach though, I was somehow just very lucky because (so far) it's never been infected & besides remaining slightly tender for a few months after, I've never had any issues. And about a year ago I got brave enough to try switching the jewelry out on my own & now I constantly change it without any issues. I consider myself to be uncharacteristically lucky with it (so far) & am now hoping that said luck will opt to grace me once again for the 7 new piercings I gave myself at home last week (so stupid, i know. But im a DIYer at heart). Oh, and not to burst any bubbles, but about the migraines, I didn't notice a difference either way. Doesn't matter to me though cause I love my cute little daith piercing. Thank you for this video & for all of your other ones Gretchen! I'm so glad I found your channel. You're so helpful & knowledgeable & beautiful, adorable & relatable (yikes.. didn't mean to sound like such a creeper!). Anyway, thank you for sharing what you've learned with us!
I’ve had my daith for maybe 7 years ish and it’s one of my favorite things. I keep the same jewelry in most of the time because changing it can be a pain. Mine took more than 1 year to fully heal, and it gave me lots of problems, but it was worth it. Funny enough it gave me less problems than my third lobe piercings. Those were so irritated i just took the jewelry out and let them close. Anyway i know this video is old but it was awesome to watch!
I just got my daith done today. It hurt more than i thought it would-it is just throbbing a bit currently. I didn't get it for migraines-just thought it was cool. Its my early 39th birthday present to myself. I got my nostril pierced in January at the same studio and that didn't hurt at all. I was trying to decide between a daith and a helix but since i wear glasses i thought the daith would be better. Also my piercer said to buy a bottle of saline spray (wound wash) and to use gauze and not q tips.
Have to know what is that lip colour...I love it 😍 I got my daith back in 2014 or 15. It was my first inner ear piercing and first piercing since moving to Nottingham UK. The experience of actually getting it pierced wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but had a friends hand to squeeze lol. Defo the most complicated piercing I have. In healing it caught soooo frickin much even though I got it pierced with a hoop. It is still the only piercing I have which I hate changing. Also with the whole migraine thing I got it done just cos I thought it looked cool but did notice I have hardly had headaches since. A weird thing you may or may not be interested in because I do aerial hoop and pole dance it took a while to get used to going upside down with it and balance but that may be from the pressure point thing mentioned?
I’ve had mine for just over a year and it hasn’t helped my migraines, thankfully I only get them every few months. It has helped my SIL who has chronic migraines, she still has them but they are less intense.
At this point I've tried everything but botox because of how incredibly cost prohibitive it is so I'd rather at least TRY this than take meds with awful side effects everyday that barely even help anyways. That's my take! If it doesn't work then at least it's a nice looking peircing. Anyways, great info! Thanks for making this video :)
I got my daith pierced today and it was the least painful piercing ever. My tragus, flat and helix were more painful than this. I had been putting off this piercing for a long time due to all the comments about how painful it is 😂 amazing how much this can vary, I guess there is no way of telling how painful it's going to be until it's actually done, and now I wish I had done it sooner 😆
Also i had to change my ring to a curved barbell because the previous rings i had kept irritating it
3 года назад
Same. I had ring but I had to change it to a curved barbell. Had the barbell fit about 7 months and I recently changed it back to a ring about three weeks ago. It’s been fantastic so far.
@ i had to change back to a ring because the barbell was making it worst... maybe because it was too long but i had to keep in mind of the swelling when i change it... since the tea tree oil isn't working for my bumps and i haven't gotten the chance to order some no pull piercing discs, i am not trying the salt paste and hope it works
I got both of my daiths done at the same time last November. They still hurt every once in a while. I have only had 1 migraine since! Not placebo effect because I got them to hopefully lessen the amount of migraines, I was skeptical! So happy I got them. They look awesome!
I got my daith pierced 4 months ago now and ugggh the healing.. piercing bumps etc. Worst of all my piercings. It was also for me about a 8-9/10 pain scale for me. It sucked. Thanks for your video.
I had my Daith pierced back in October for migraines. It did not cure my migraine but I have experienced less pain and pressure in my left ear as a result. I won’t say it did not hurt, but piercer was experienced and did it quickly. I was amazed that I experienced no pain as a side sleeper. A warning, if you use headphones often, the headphone will irritate the piercing. Keep your dirty cell phones on that side-keep things clean that come in contact. Overall I’m happy with it.
Omg when u got it done it felt like they were trying to shove their fist in my ear hole 😂 ya there was some pain but mostly alot of pressure. I was kinda in shock for q moment cuz I wasn't expecting that
This helped me.alot with mine bc I have both of them done I wasn't sure how long it would take to heal ,and I was curious when I could change my jewelry out now I know
Excellent and thorough job. You can call this piercing anything you want. I pronounce it daith, as in faith or wraith, but I sure as heck won't be getting on someone's case for saying it differently. There is far too much that people fight over as it is.
I love my daith piercing! I only had it for 2 days now lol! The piercing itself did not hurt me at all. It was like 4/10 for pain. I had my helix pierced and it hurt like a 6/10. The helix hurt worst! The helix i could feel the needle. The daith all i felt was pressure but not a bad pressure if that makes sense. 💙💙💓💓😇😇
Since the moment I decided to get my daith, I've said that best case it helps my TAC headaches, and at worst I end up with a cool new piercing. It definitely hasn't helped with the headaches, but I really love it nonetheless. As of this comment, its been 3 weeks and it's healing beautifully. The only "issue" I'm facing is the overwhelming desire to get even more ear art! One at a time though ^-^
I have only had my daith for a few days now. but the actual piercing was just a pressure feeling. I tend to swell a bit more. My jewelry wasn't long enough. I also got a targus at the same sitting. They both swelled up and I could barely hear out of my ear. I went in as soon as the shop was open and got the longer post, and used a couple of ice packs. The swelling took all day to go down. Still sore but I hear normal again. Point being, always get the longer jewelry if you can, downsize after a few weeks.
My mom's friend passed out when she got her daith pierced. For me, it didn't hurt until about an hour after the fact without painkillers or numbing anything, and it felt like a dull ache. My mom had a worse time than me and she didn't get pierced. I just got it a few days ago and so far, the most difficult part has been sleeping on my other side.
I want to get a daith on my left ear but I'm putting it off for as I want another baby n the aftercare with a newborn will be annoying for me. I'll have my second baby wait a year, then go get it. So it will be quite a bit of time before I get it done.
I got my daith done a week ago, worst pain wise piercing i have so far. But.... I have tmj and it has helped with the headaches and stabbing pain I've suffered with for years. Its NOT a cure 😣 but it has helped. 🤞 when swelling goes down pain doesn't increase
I got mine Friday! All I can say is no headphones/earbuds, I bought a travel neck pillow to sleep on the side of the piercing. It didn’t feel wonderful, obviously. Probably half the amount of pain as a Novocain shot. I recommend really thinking it over. It’s not like it’s socially unacceptable but u will get noticed. 🙂. Honestly I wanted dimples but they aren’t professional at work which is a joke. I’m glad tho because I literally know zero people who have it done, it’s very unique and a great way to express yourself if you don’t mind the draw backs. I definitely don’t recommend the ring held together by the ball as my ball fell out, fortunately I found it and they put it back in free of charge. I can’t wait for it to heal because I have a ring that’s incomplete and on each end are black screw in spikes. This is a great video, funny thing is my piercer called it a day-th. Haha
omgggg i got my daith pierced a year and a half ago, i love it but that was definitely the WORST pain for a piercing i’ve experienced, the healing was perfect! but getting pierced was PHEWWWW. that being said, i’ve had mf industrial for 2 years, tragus for a year and my belly button i got done with my daith and none were even comparable to the pain i felt for the daith lol
I want a daith piercing so badly, but every time I turn around I’m having a medical test that requires me to put retainers in my piercings and I doubt I can find a piercer willing to put a retainer in instead of metal jewelry when I first get it pierced. I personally think that sucks. Let me have the retainer, I’ll go ahead and buy the jewelry, and if it doesn’t heal it’s my fault. If it does I’ll come back and pay to have the metal jewelry put in. Of course I also have to think about whether I’d be able to change the jewelry on my own afterward if I need to switch to a retainer for a test because the piercers I trust are 90 miles away. Kind of hard to just pop in and have them do it for me. 😕
Got my daith almost 4 months now. Cleaned it the first month with a special disinfectant for piercings and then continued on with a home-made salt solution using Himalayan salt. Cleaning it twice a day. Everything was going well until I noticed a bump on either side of the piercing just yesterday 😭. I think it might have been, because I started sleeping on it again as I got lazy with putting my hair in a knot on the side where I got the piercing. Anyone experienced the same? Any tips are also very welcome 🫶🏽
Watching this just after I got mine pierced. I like the aesthetic but I also am a migraine sufferer, so I’m hoping I can get a placebo effect at minimum. 😂 I have a decently high pain tolerance and have a few other ear piercings, including my conch, flat, tragus, and lobes. The piercing was over before I knew it, but I’m a bleeder and about an hour later, my ear is throbbing and a little crusty. Probably the most painful of the cartilage piercings I’ve gotten, but not by much. I’d get that done an intimidate amount of times before I got another IUD-IYKYK. If not, daith was 2/10 during, 4/10 after on my pain scale.
I will be getting my daith and helix pierced in both ears in 2 days. I am nervous. The only piercings I have right now are my first lobes that I got with a gun when I was 5. I am 36 now, that experience was so traumatizing it scared me off of ever getting any more until now. I have always wanted more but was to scared of the pain. I am hoping all goes well. I would hopefully like to get a few more after this to complete a look I'm going for.
Considering getting this done though the aftercare is just a pain in the ass. I've had migraines since I was four and I'm on a ton of meds, but I'll take as much as I can get. Not afraid of pain or needles, just the pain of aftercare and not being able to sleep on that side/use in ear buds (grr). Thank you for the video!
Ye i feel the same about after care but more so because i worry about it snagging too. I really want to get back to martial arts. Im in 2 minds. What did you end up doing?
@@liveonce2102 I didn't get it done. I might someday, but I just don't feel like doing aftercare for such tight area. Like aftercare for my nose piercing was easy, and this would involve tons of salt water cotton balls, sticking your head under a faucet with antibacterial soap, so I didn't end up getting it done. Oh, I hope you are able to get back into martial arts! While I've never done a serious sport like martial arts, I've had my tragus pierced for years with a hoop and it has never snagged on anything.
@@an0ana ye im still in 2 minds, i may wait till winter because i put sunscreen on my ears in summer. My job involves being in the sun a lot. Hopefully i will make a decision by then. Thats reassuring that your tragus piercing hasnt snagged. I image its even hardee to snag a daith 🙂
@@liveonce2102 Winter sounds like an optimal idea honestly. Less sweat from the summer sun and you're able to keep it cleaner easier. Good for you for using sunscreen! Yeah, I never had a problem with my tragus. It can make some earplugs uncomfortable and earbuds sit differently in my ear, but I don't regret it. It's my favorite piercing.
@@an0ana i was looking at the tragus at first but like that daith is less likely to get caught plus hoping it will reduce headaches and anxiety as a bonus lol ☺ Ye i didnt start the year wearing sunscreen but started noticing freckles and didnt want to the risk of skin damage or worse. I out for hours a day in hotter part of the day too. If i was in an indoor job, then would like get daith soon as haha. I will be patient though 😎
I got my daith pierced about a year ago. I wanted to get an industrial done instead, but got the daith bc ear anatomy, glasses, etc. The pressure was the worst part by far. When my piercer pulled the jewelry through it was really uncomfortable and kinda felt like a super intense headache lol. Changing the jewelry sucked, I had a curved barbell in it and screwing the balls back on was a goddamn nightmare. First time literally took an hour and I had to get my boyfriend to help me. I've only changed it once since then lol.
i got my daith done is dec 29 2021 the pain wasn’t bad but i did feel a lot of pressure i clean it everyday so it doesn’t get infected but its hard to clean the top part of the piercing since their no space but either than that its good
How can I shine/make it look new again? I am too scared to take it out myself so i was wondering if there’s anyway to do it without removing the actual jewelry!! Thank you xoxo
I got my daith pierced today. Both sides. And it was SO painful for me. I heard it pop when the needle went through. And now they're very sore and tender. She also got upclose and personal haha which I totally understand.
I got mine yesterday. I have a history of migraines i got annoyed with it yesterday. I called a tattoo place they got me in later after my internship. Honestly getting my ears peirced at 10 hurt much worse than the daith. When they put it in i didn’t squeal didnt even say ow. But my migraine went away for a little bit. Then my migraine came back but when it came back it masked the pain in my ear. Now my ear hurts again. But i would recommend getting while you have a migraine going on
I got mine done yesterday and it wasn’t too bad. Maybe 4/10 pain level. Now it’s the next morning and I don’t even feel it there. Feels like any other piercing I’ve had for years.
my daith has been a bitch and i would not do it again and i sure do not suggest someone get it. it has been right over 3 months now and thank the powers its getting better. i was to stubborn to take it out lol. but i def would not do it again. thanks for your videos they really helped in dealing with this crazy-ass thing..... fresh chamomile tea has been a saving grace also.
I got both my daiths pierced at the same time. And I can definitely relate to both pain intolerant people and not so pain intolerant people. Because when they did my right side it was just like a very light pinch. As compared to when they did my left. It felt like I got stung by a Hornet with throbbing and pain afterwards. It's probably an eight whereas the right was probably at two in a pain level. Messed up as to how the same piercing cause different levels of pain. Lol
I got my daith pierced almost 6 weeks ago and it was pierced with a 14g, my piercer likes to stick to 14g with cartilage piercings as it gives it stability? It didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would and it was over so quick. For the first week I had this weird inner ear pressure headache and took nurfon for the swelling and the pain.
hey, i plan on getting my daith done and the only thing kind of holding me back is the healing. i dye my hair very frequently and i will not be haiving my roots showing however everytime my partner does my hair they get some in my ear. would that be an issue
Hi, is it normal for the daith hoop to move around e.g. swinging forwards when bending down and swinging back when looking up? Not sure whether mine is healing properly! Thank you :)
Just got my daith last month and it has been a dream to heal. So far I have experienced no pain the swelling went down and no bumps. *knock on wood* lol I don’t want to jinx it
I don't know why but I am so scared it's going to get infected or I'm going to have a keloid! I've been doing saline soaks and some days it hurts and some days it doesn't. I think it just keeps getting irritated if it moves or after I clean it. I got it pierced a few weeks ago and it still looks irritated. I don't think it's infected but I'm really anxious about it! I feel like I'm doing mostly everything right but I can't get over the fear! I don't know how people get piercings and don't have a bunch of anxiety afterwards😭
I’ve had my daith pierced for over four weeks now. The process of getting it pierced was very painful I have to admit. I’m good at taking care of my piercings but it got infected even when I was taking care of it properly and it was very painful I couldn’t get through the day without taking pain medication because it was that bad but I still love it even though it still gets irritated and I’m dealing with bumps.
I have both of my daiths pierced and I have terrible migraines still. The piercings never helped at all. I wish they did because migraines sucks, especially since I have one usually everyday. 😕 Anyways, I love your hair!!
Just got my daith done today and pain wise probably 6.5/10 maybe 7/10, cleaning it is the hard part because of how u have to maneuver the Q-tip around (to anyone thinking abt getting one, get it, it’s so cool on literally everyone)
My ears are tiny and using a cotton swab is so hard for me...currently it's day 1 and omg. I haven't had a piercing in 5 years lol I forgot the process
so i've had my for almost a year or it will be a year in June and it doesn't hurt at all. However, it does bleed sometimes when I'm messing with it or when I'm cleaning it but again there is no pain. Is that a bad thing?
I totally agree with this video, I got my daith done about 2 years ago and it was my most painful piercing and was a pain to heal but it’s my favorite piercing I have
I actually like my daith piercing and it has been a week and I don’t seem to have any pain. Well at least for now.
I had no pain no problem until like almost 6 months in. So crazy
Mine is painless as well. It’s been two days.
Hi how's your daith piercing RN? Mine doesn't hurt and it's been 3 days. I've overthinking if it's normal or not. 😂
@@chronossilver5011 Mine didn’t hurt for few weeks and then it started 😫 it’s been like 5 months since I had it done and it’s still really bad
@@adriana_cern Really? Mine was about a month now. And hopefully it will stay to not hurt. 😂
I had a god awful headache on the night it was pierced but never had one that bad since!
did they explain how the placement is different ? x
@@jessrose5099 I doubt it. Because there is no difference
I didn't care if it helped or not I thought it looked cool and used that aginst my mom.
got my daith very recently! it was 100% my most painful piercing (i have 11 currently) and currently there actually still is a dull pain after a good 5 days! nothing horrid but noticeable. HOWEVER! it is super pretty and i went to a shop that offers hearts for piercings, so now i look extremely cool >:)
I just like the way it looks.
how's wearing earphones with a daith ? since i always put earphones in my ears im afraid it won't be good for the piercing...
I have similar experience! I felt dizzy, I was sweating and thought I was going to throw up 😵💫
I had mine today the pain was horrendous it crunched as she pierced it but present time/ a few hours later pains gone completely no swelling etc
Can you sleep on that side or use earphones?
@@Minuet_B yes, I'm able to use ear phones without any problems. when I do sleep on my side I just lie my head on my arm and rest my ear where there's a gap so its not touching anything if that makes sense.
@@nashaylasmith1977 thank you so much 😁
Is it healed
@@anobaha194 Almost, I was cleaning it too much and that prolonged the healing process 😅
Also, my daith bled like blood Niagara Falls, which caused a painful piercing moment... but haven’t felt any pain while healing
Try to get the spray saline solution. The water pressure from the nozzle is more gentle than a qtip but still thoroughly cleans the piercing.
@@Jewelzbabiii yes, the donut pillow is a great idea for the daith too!
@@misslucario7278 thanks !
Can actually say this helped mine. Piercer was trained specifically for finding the right pressure point! Had 4 in 3 weeks a while ago and now they are gone, had chiro adjustments along side this!
Who was ur piercer?
I got mine pierced today, and so far so good. It really wasn’t painful, just tons of pressure. I did end up passing out because he couldn’t get the jewelry onto the needle and kept moving it. But he slipped it in real quick before I woke back up and all was well. It hasn’t really bled at all. So far I’m completely in love with it but I guess we’ll see how it goes.
Update? I’m getting mine in three days 😬
We need a guide like this about the rook, please? 😌
All I felt was pressure.
my daith was the least painful piercing I’ve experienced like maybe even less than regular lobes
I actually had my daith pierced earlier today? Less painful than my helixes, which was very surprising. I hope the healing process is ok, tho
Magical.
Any updates? I’m getting mine in a few days 😬
@@trinityleeann1126 I still get migraines every once in a while, but less often, and still on the side I don’t have the piercing on. If I get a huuuge one, I do feel pain on the side I have the daith but I used to have 3 of those a week and now I might get one every 2 months or so. Am not sure if it’s all because of the piercing as I detected a big detonator of migraines and I now avoid it, but if I eat it, I don’t get the migraines I used to get before the ring.
also: hasn’t fully healed, so, be patient
I did a shotglass with a cottonball sprayed with saline eash, microwaved til its warm NOT HOT, and DABBED ON EAR TWICE A DAY.
wait can I get an update?
@@alivia_reignz sure! Everything is fine, except from one day that I scratched my ear and forgot it was there 😂 it was a bit sensitive for a while, but that was it. I still clean it carefully, there is no signs of scarring or bumps. If I notice there is build-up in the bar I soak it in saline and then I clean it well. And I can sleep on it with no issues!
can you wear earbuds with your daith? Ive heard a lot of mixed answers
@@s.f9305 yes, but I use them with the smallest of the rubber tips. I also found out that the "angled" earbuds tend to sit more comfortably in my ear than the straight ones
I got a spray bottle with salt water and sprayed mines 3 times a day. Healed perfectly.
My daith piercing has reduced my migraine pain. Usually would get migraines for 2-3 days with the daith it reduces it down to one. But it was pierced wrong and my new piercer couldn't get the jewelry in and I have to wait 6 months for it to heal so I can have him repierce it.
I just got mine done today. It was pretty painful but bearable for me. I think it’s really cute and I’m excited for it to heal hopefully properly😅
Girl I've had mine for a whole year and it's growing out of my ear! Slowly but surely just never healed
If it’s rejecting take it out or you will have a huge scar on your ear
Make sure you clean it and titanium or 14kt gold, or it can be rejected.
Mine was my fastest healing recent cartilage piercing. I put it to the fact I couldn’t remove the jewelry to mess with it like I always do 🤦♀️
I got this one in January this year. Didn’t hurt and healing has been the easiest out of all my piercings.
how did u know i just got my daith done...... literally the day before u posted this
I just got my daith done today.
Just watched ur vid of you changing ur daith for the first time...I have soooo much trouble changing the jewelry!
Have to know what is that lip colour...I love it 😍
I got my daith back in 2014 or 15.
Had to say im a fan of Ghost! Liked seeing the lyrics in the background! ❤️🔥 And of course ty for the info! Great walk thru for daith piercing.
I got the piercing bcuz i thought it was cute but I've been getting migraines that i never have before especially that often
Also i had to change my ring to a curved barbell because the previous rings i had kept irritating it
@@sashaoliver03 let’s hope it does
I got both of my daiths done at the same time last November. They still hurt every once in a while. I have only had 1 migraine since! Not placebo effect because I got them to hopefully lessen the amount of migraines, I was skeptical! So happy I got them. They look awesome!
I got it back in January and did not have any issues. I just cant wait to change my jewelry !!!
I didn’t know it helped with migraines. But I got less and then I learned about it. I REALLLY love it. They are a$$holes (I have both) but I love them
I lost my daith before my ankle surgery. But I just got another! I'm so happy to have it back!
Not all headaches or migraines are the same.
All over headache/migraine get both sides or acupuncture.
I have had my Daith piercing about 2 years ago & it won't heal 🥺 I'm thinking I might have to remove it 😟
My mom's friend passed out when she got her daith pierced.
I've heard that titanium is non magnetic so it wouldn't interfere with CT scans or MRIs .
I got my daith persing today dint rillized haw mush more painful it was. Found your video looking up after care love your videos
@@an0ana i was looking at the tragus at first but like that daith is less likely to get caught plus hoping it will reduce headaches and anxiety as a bonus lol ☺
Ye i didnt start the year wearing sunscreen but started noticing freckles and didnt want to the risk of skin damage or worse.
Mine has yellow suds behind it? Does anyone know what i should do its too awkward to clean and get at as its behind my piercing in my ear
I got my daith pierced today. Both sides. And it was SO painful for me. I heard it pop when the needle went through. And now they're very sore and tender. She also got upclose and personal haha which I totally understand.
I miss the days when there were piercing studios :(
I'm def paranoid about getting the bumps🤮
I got mine yesterday. I have a history of migraines i got annoyed with it yesterday. I called a tattoo place they got me in later after my internship. Honestly getting my ears peirced at 10 hurt much worse than the daith. When they put it in i didn’t squeal didnt even say ow. But my migraine went away for a little bit. Then my migraine came back but when it came back it masked the pain in my ear. Now my ear hurts again. But i would recommend getting while you have a migraine going on
Google stretching daith piercing it's so horrifying imagining that pain I got mine done 3 days ago and it is not comfortable
Lol
That's wild... I wonder if there was a nerve on one side that got hit but then was avoided on the other?? So strange how that works
I got my daith down last month, it didn't hurt at all and so far (knock on wood) hasn't hurt in the healing processes, I barely notice it
I got my daith pierced almost 6 weeks ago and it was pierced with a 14g, my piercer likes to stick to 14g with cartilage piercings as it gives it stability? It didn’t hurt as much as I thought it would and it was over so quick. For the first week I had this weird inner ear pressure headache and took nurfon for the swelling and the pain.
hey, i plan on getting my daith done and the only thing kind of holding me back is the healing. i dye my hair very frequently and i will not be haiving my roots showing however everytime my partner does my hair they get some in my ear. would that be an issue
I did not bleed with my dauth piercing..how do i know if it is far in enough??? And not shallow
Hi, is it normal for the daith hoop to move around e.g. swinging forwards when bending down and swinging back when looking up? Not sure whether mine is healing properly! Thank you :)
Excellent video, thank you!
Great video, but why was the camera shaking?
so i've had my for almost a year or it will be a year in June and it doesn't hurt at all. However, it does bleed sometimes when I'm messing with it or when I'm cleaning it but again there is no pain. Is that a bad thing?
