What wrong reasons to get pierced can you think of? Leave them in the comments below! And believe me, if you’ve gotten a piercing based on any of the reasons mentioned, you aren’t alone - the impulsive bug has gotten me a few times! 😉
Absolutely great video. !!! So true. On point!!!.... I believe what you say. I have 10 ear piercings. I love them all and care for them all. Xoxo 💟💟💟🙃🥀🥀🤩🙂♥️♥️🦋🦋💯🙃😘😘🌹💜💜😘🥰🥰😎🐕🐕🐶✌🏼✌🏼✌🏼💋☕☕☕💀☠☠☠🍻💀🍻🍻😊😊😊🐕🐕🐕🐕🐶
May I suggest u change the the title to something like "reasons why u shouldn't get a piercing". No hate but I think that the current tittle may be slightly misleading but I definitely loved your advise 😊. Oh and I got my fist piercing cuz I was scared of them (after I saw someone get pierced wrong in a classroom in high-school) and I got one in a professional studio with sterile tools and it got rid of my trauma and I loved it💙
No one should be coerced into getting a piercing or tattoo if they don't want it. That's trying to take control of the person. Big red flag. (Jan Griffiths).
honestly before I got my one and only piercing (a helix piercing) I bugged my parents for at least a month for it and looked up a whole load about it, and also completely retaught myself to sleep on the opposite side to the ear I wanted pierced so yeah that's my story I guess lmao
Jan Griffiths here. My navel piercing was an impulse piercing. I was in LA over Thanksgiving weekend in 1978, and saw an ad for Gauntlet Piercing. There was a pic of a navel piercing, and I liked how it looked, and wanted to get one. I went there and my navel was looked at, and it was determined the top part would not hold a piercing (Had endoscopic surgery, top part had been sutured), but the bottom was fine, and uncommon. I had it done that day. I was given aftercare instructions, followed them to the letter, and it healed just fine. I kept the original jewelry in for over 10 years. Today the piercing is a part of me; my navel has been pierced longer than it was unpierced. I still have more than three quarters of an inch of skin between the balls of the jewelry. I still clean it with sea salt solution twice daily. It is my second oldest piercing, after my first lobes I got as a baby. Of course, back when I got it, there was very little material about it to research on. It's still one of my favorites, 41 years later.
Haha! I feel the title might be a smidge misleading...or at least could have double meanings. I just discuss the wrong reasons to get a piercing, not why the piercings themselves are bad. 😜
The first time I pierce myself was a horrible experience, 'cuz I did the mistake of trusting someone who doesn't really now how to do them. I bled a lot and it came a lit bit crooked.
Hi lovely, I had my belly button pieced when I was 18 and still wear it after two pregnancies ❤👩👧👦 I'm 41 now and I got my nose pierced 3 weeks ago. Also, I was 37 when I got my first tattoo. I gave myself lots of time to decide 😆 Thank you for your brilliant videos.
You're lovely! Great video! I've researched the crap out of a daith, flat & double nostril piercings. I'm now ready & will get them done as soon as the shop is open. Have put so much thought into it & it's just added to the excitement.
"How do I convince my GF to do a Navel piercing" that's easy! you don't, get it yourself if you like it that much and stop pushing other people to do stuff that YOU like.
I totally agree!! I've always have thought about the piercings I have for a good time before having them done. Have 11 now (been getting piercings for 11 years too xD) and never took 1 out :) (don't saying you can't change your mind and take them out after a while, just that in my case, that means I never regretted one and I think that's awesome)
my first piercing I got (my seconds) was because my friend at the time had them and I thought it was cool, so after 3 months of convincing I got them done for my 11th birthday, and a few years later when I really did research and had a rebellious drive and wanted to express myself I've gotten more, so I guess it also worked out for me
I also feel like you shouldn’t just get it, just because someone tells you to is because you might neglect cleaning it because you just don’t care about it which will lead to possible problems.
Almost 2 years ago that I gotten my industrial piercing. I did research that piercing 6 months before that I got it. I wasn’t sure that I have room for it. If that I don’t have room for it and I would get a cartilage piercing on my right ear. The gal behind the counter talked me out of getting an cartilage piercing. Even 4 weeks ago that I gotten my 2nd cartilage on my left ear. I’m glad that I did it. That one piercing didn’t hurt as much as I thought with a needle. I have 5 piercings on both of my ears. Total of 10 piercings so far. I’m happy in having them. I don’t want any tattoos on my body. I will stuck to piercings on my ears.
I got my second lobes done when in i was in 7th grade i really wanted them not exciting its just lobes but then i wanted a helix piercing and i had to wait till i turned 18 ):
I agree with all, other than the part on being impulsive. All of my fav piercings are my most impulsive ones. I’m so sad I spent years hesitating and doubting wether I should get piercings or not. One day I walked by the shop and was like, hey thats cute. Let’s just do it. They informed me correctly on aftercare and I haven’t stopped getting them like this. Somedays ill just be like “what if I got this omg”;I’ll get it n be super happy. The ones I actually tried to think about are the ones I like the least bc I feel like I got stuck in the thinking part. I consider this: If I have to think too long about it, I mustn’t want it 100%. I did always like piercings and knew I wanted them just not what and worried about pain/reactions/how it’d look. I don’t see what harm it can do to get them impulsively or why that’d be a worse reason, some people just know exactly what they want when they see it and it works better for me. (Unless you have medical reasons, job related reasons, or go to an unprofessional place ofc) I def informed myself correctly after each piercing and took care of it correctly. I only wish I started sooner 🥰
Sidenote, I do think it’s a bad idea if you actually are as uninformed about it that you expect it to heal overnight without aftercare. We got loads of these young students at the piercing shop and it blows my mind they actually have like NO idea at all. If you scram your knee it won’t heal overnight either why would a piercing.
Not gonna lie but my nose and lobe piercings were a spur of the moment and impulsive kinda just woke up one day and decided to just get them, I don’t regret it cause I had been thinking about it for a while
if you wanna go for shock value, you can just use fake piercings, in my experience they’re very effective (and they’re also great to try out piercings to see if you’d actually like it). so far the only piercings I’ve had are my ears, which have been pierced twice with a piercing gun (let it close up both times) and i wouldn’t recommend it, next time i get them pierced im gonna actually go to a professional piercer and actually take care of them. and maybe it’s just me, but I don’t care if a scar is left, id love to eventually get a rhino piercing which i haven’t been able to find pictures of healed scars from that, but i have seen other facial piercing scars and if it’s similar to that just on the nose then id be fine with the risk that i might eventually want to get rid of it and have a scar. you only live once, and id rather embellish and love the body im in than worry about regretting it in the future (with the caveat that yes, you probably should wait to be sure you really want the piercing/tattoo, but it’s not the end of the world if you do it impulsively)
One reason I’d say is to not to do it as a way to cope w depression. I got 6 piercings within 3 month period. Idk if that’s actually a lot for some people, but the number doesn’t matter. The point is that using piercings and tattoos as a coping mechanism and ignoring getting real help probably isn’t the best. Now, I LOVEEEE piercings and tattoos! I have 13 piercings and 2 tattoos. The 6 piercings I got, I would’ve gotten eventually, but probably wouldn’t have gotten them in that short of a time period. Also, like to add, I did do a lot of research on all of the piercings I got before getting them.
I got three new piercings because I want a tattoo and can't decide what I want lol. I also need to find a new artist (mine moved to a different state). I did think about them for quite a while before I got them done, the tattoo thing is just what pushed me to finally do it. I got my third lobe piercing and my septum done. I'd gone back and forth on a septum for two or three years. I loved the way the fake ones looked, I just wasn't ready to take the leap. I also have bad allergies, but with wearing the masks so much this year it hasn't been bad at all.
This spoke to me cus my boyfriend wanted me to get a naval, until he knows I shut down and want to self-express on my own. So now I have some small tattoos and on my piercing journey, but on my own accord. ^_^
You looked like a mom who was gonna give her kid what for, so at first I thought this video would be a parody. :0) Your advice was very good, and I appreciate the thought that went into this post. Sometime before it became my turn to go up and get my tragus done, there was a whole group of young friends, most of whom got their navels done. They talked, dressed, and acted alike. I hope they don't eventually come to regret that experience, but it's likely some of them will, because they succumbed to peer pressure. Thank you for reminding people that it's okay to say no if it's not right.
Getting piercings for me is a process, I want one, I get obsessed, I do A LOT of research about it and when I can't stand the urge anymore I go get it. If my idea of a piercing in particular doesn't make it to the urge part, I don't get it
My boyfriend told me how a labret piercing would look amazing on me a few times and he does piercings and I’m at a time in my life where I’m impulsive lol soooo we ended up doing it after research and its been about 2 months and its healing beautifully and its aligned with my face structure. At the end of the day do what you want If you feel impulsive and rebellious and want a piercing that you can end up taking out if you dont like it, go ahead lol at the end of the day we’re almost all gonna get old some day and regret not doing certain things.
Hahahaha, "feeling rebelious" as a tatooed and pierced dad, my rebelious kids would need to go to church to be rebelious against "my" beliefs and I wouldn't care... I'm a hard father to displease.
I’m just afraid there going to get torn out in the pit, getting hit in the face is one thing. But if that thing tears out that’s probably going to need some stitches
I've got all my piercings from the same shop next up is nipples they are cheap and are great at what they do my nose piercings were $5 septum $10 tongue $5 and nipples are $20 chest dermal was the same price
I got 18 earrings from Walmart but even I wouldn't buy piercings that cheap and in such sensitive spots. I hope they're not faking the needles being clean by resealing them with glue or something.

Let’s also not forget that all of these reasons apply to tattoos as well. Except you can’t take out a tattoo.

That one dislike is probably the user who wants their gf to get a piercing lmaoo
My first piercing was like "oh I've just dreamt about doing it... lets make it true!" 😂
Definetely not showing this to my mum 😅 She hates the idea of me getting a piercing
Haha! I feel the title might be a smidge misleading...or at least could have double meanings. I just discuss the wrong reasons to get a piercing, not why the piercings themselves are bad. 😜
i had to write my mam a pros and cons list for her to let me get my nose pierced haha
I love ur yellow hair, it suits u well!
The first time I pierce myself was a horrible experience, 'cuz I did the mistake of trusting someone who doesn't really now how to do them. I bled a lot and it came a lit bit crooked.
I hope English is not your first language.
Nicci Gericke it obviously isn't. don't be a dick.

There’s nothing wrong with telling a friend or gf or bf a certain piercing would look good on them but that’s where it should end
Me watching this video and already having 10 piercings and tattoo😂

Her comment about winter is absolutely right. Got nipple done during winter much easier to hide, especially behind darker clothing.

All my piercings exist because of impulsiveness and I love ‘em all
I've always liked larger gauges but never got pierced myself. I finally got my first pierc'n at an 6g I'm pretty stoked!
I also feel like you shouldn’t just get it, just because someone tells you to is because you might neglect cleaning it because you just don’t care about it which will lead to possible problems.

Lmaoo just what i was thinkin
For over 23 years, I never had piercing on my body, no not one. I never had and I never will. Because it's painful.
