    Don't sleep on a healing piercing, even if it doesn't hurt. You'll regret it in the morning. Biggest mistake that I still continue to make. 😂

      Buy a travel pillow; you know, one of the circular ones with the hole in the middle. I've used one for years when my cartilage piercings were new, and it's been a lifesaver. Your ear will be inside the hole, and no pressure will be on the piercing. If you get one, make sure the cover is washable, and keep it clean. I still use mine even after my piercings have healed. I got a pillow that has 2 ear holes because I tried using the travel pillow method (I am a side and stomach sleeper), and it wasn’t working because I couldn’t get comfortable then I would wake up not even using the pillow by accident. So far I’m having luck with the 2-hole pillow, it’s a regular pillow otherwise and I can sleep pretty much normally.

    I've probably done all of these too lol. When you said no one wants to deal with a healing piercing for over a year I looked at my just-over-a-year-old industrial that still has a small irritation bump on the inside of the forward helix hole and felt that!!!!!!!! like get it together girl!! you got the titanium you deserve!! get it together!!!!

      @@sobangchel I used diluted tea tree oil. Put it on q-tip with saline rubbed it on left for no more then 5 min. Then washed it off. That's what my piercer told me to do.

    I've also heard that clairs tell u to twist the jewelry to help prevent the skin growing over it bc the jewelry is too small, which is sometimes true. those butterfly clip earrings can be too tight for initial jewelry

    I'm sometimes guilty of changing the jewellery too early 🙃 But I was once pierced with a hoop on my helix by a professional piercer and it just hurt the whole time and was inflamed for months until I changed the jewellery for a labret bar and then it healed perfectly... I'm now at almost 20 piercings and planning on getting more in the future, it's kind of an addiction now 😂

    I got a salt burn on my rook, because I overcleaned it. I had a reaction to the salt because it was so strong and that made it flare-up, making me think it might be infected. I am now cleaning it once a day with cooled boiled water and if any gunk builds-up (it hasn't done for a while, so I am hopeful) I use an alcohol wipe.
    Ugh! People assuming that their irritation bump is a keloid annoys me so much, especially when they are surprised that they have one, after sleeping on it! Xx

    Sleeping directly on that ear if the piercing is relatively new.
    I can't say I've directly made those mistakes but I've done the less then recommended cleaning in the beginning of a new piercing/changed the jewelry multiple times in the first year of having a piercing(but I gauge my body and what feels fine for me may not feel fine for you)/and waiting to long to change it to a smaller bar size from getting it first pierced.

    My first piercing (nose) I over cleaned it out of fear of it getting infected and it was so irritated all the time and got piercing bumps on it, i never twisted it never laid on it nothing. I was so sad when I took it out 😭over cleaning is like my biggest issue. I have piercings that are 3 years old and I still clean them twice a day just because i hear people having issues with piercings well after they’re healed.

    Happened to me just now.. Had my ear pierced in December. Four at the same time. All was good! I kept up with the cleaning for month. Startet to change, panicked, started overcleaning, using all the products... and boom, it's now irritated and it itches! Overthinking it, watching every Video.. Went to my piercer and learned i have been overdoing everything right😁 well now i give it a little break😇 Thanks for All your Videos! The kept me sagen and from overworrying.

    • @ace.l.w
      @ace.l.w 4 года назад

      Sarah Neilson see a piercer and/or a dermatologist. It depends on the type of bump and how long it’s been there for. Definitely upsize jewelry length, make sure to wear a good metal (titanium, niobium, or gold), and clean it regularly even after it’s healed. Diluting tea tree oil (1 tea tree to ten of water) and spraying it onto the area can help calm down the bump, soaking it in saline is also helpful (just stick your nose in a shot glass filled with saline). Piercers will be more able to give specific ideas for what’s causing it (like metal, cleaning habits, etc) and what to do (sometimes you need to take it out and try again later).
      Another possibility is that your face wash and lotion are irritating it, so talk with the dermatologist about that. Pierced nurses are also great resources, so the next time you have a regular doctors appointment, see if your nurse has piercings!

      @GeauxGretchen  4 года назад +9

      Ah yes, I will be sure to change how I have pronounced words for almost 30 years because someone on the internet told me to. I’ll get right on that.
      I’m sorry that my dialect bothers you so much. If it’s truly that awful, you can click off my videos. I don’t pronounce the “g” on any “-ing” words...I don’t have a selective dialect.

    • @whitetop03
      @whitetop03 4 года назад

      Listen to your audio. When you say cleaning, you pronounce it clean ing. When you say healing you pronounce it heal ing. When you pronounce piercing, you pronounce it pierce in. It appears to me that this is the only word ending in ing that you don't properly pronounce.
      I really do enjoy your videos but your pronunciation of one word drives me a bit nuts.
