Was on the verge of a panic attack because I thought I was gonna have to take my belly piercing out. Thank you for this video !! My chest is a lot lighter now 😂
@@jasminemurray4017 mine actually tore a little last week but it’s fully healed and looks normal again 😭😭 I swear I’m always panicking over this ONE piercing
I can’t even express how just the first two minutes of this video calmed me down. Whether my nose ring is infected or not you have really taken some stress off my shoulders. Thank you!
100% spot on! Masks are such a pain for some piercings. I’m not really a hoop girl but I changed one of my piercings from a stud to a hoop and irritation problem solved!
well, i’m still confused… i have my mid helix piercing (it’s been almost three months now) and today morning i noticed that the back part was extremely dirty and it was causing the piercing to always be kind of itchy, but it never hurt or anything. since it was extremely dirty, i cleaned it with saline solution and a q-tip, but when it came out, the q-tip had a little of blood, and since then, it hurts pretty much to touch and to clean. so, is it an infection or is it just irritated? the area near my piercing was (most of the time) dry and “crusty” and it had never swell. i don’t hurt it with anything and i do not sleep on that side, and when i do, i use a neck pillow… i have a hoop… any advice?
Never had an infection with any of my piercings so far. But I've experienced irritation several times. Right now my flat helix is irritated because I slept on it several times and I got a little bump. I've had bumps with other piercings before so I know after care and extra patience are the keys :)

@AngieLD Here is a good tip to help with this buy a pillow with a hole or sew the ends of a neck pillow together and use it to sleep. Trust me, your piercings will thank you.
I got my flat pierced last weekend and I’m so worried the jewelry is too short. I might go get a longer piece of jewelry tomorrow but it’s definitely not infected
I actually just recently got my septum done a couple weeks ago and just last night I got this bump, I was freaking out and thought it might've been an infection until I found this, thanks!
You’re like literally the best. I was stressing so much for the past three days. I think my nose piercing is infected because it’s slightly red and have a small piercing bump. My friends were telling me that it was an infection but after this video I realized it wasn’t. Thank you so so much! It also fell out my nose before but I put it in super fast without cleaning it so i immediately thought it was an infection. It isn’t hurting nor have pus that’s a good thing.
Came here for my nostril. It just started bleeding. Two days ago, I accidentally pulled some crusties into the tunnel. It barely hurt, but I made a mental note. Today, 2 days later, it has a tiny bump, barely noticeable, so I ignored it at first. But when I cleaned it earlier and it bled a few drops, I got pretty worried and decided to hit up google (bad idea) and RUclips. With the help of this video (and also some help from Google), I was able to figure out that my piercings only irritated and irritated piercings can also bleed. Well, thank the sky. And thank you, you're a treasure.🥰
I’m 11 days into my healing process from just getting my nipples done and came across your video! It was so helpful especially since even though being familiar with piercings this is a new one for me. My right has been doing great. From the start my left bled more and has been more sensitive (which normally is anyway) but it helped so much to ease my concerns and plan on doing my sea salt soaks when I’m supposed to and trying to let the girls breathe. I wear a looser fitting bra so I don’t have them squished all day but I have a very active job as well where I’m trying my hardest to be careful! Thank you so much for your video!
Thank you this helped me a lot! I’m about 2 weeks into getting my ears peirced and just got a little bit of the fluid in my left ear. I’m happy to know it’s not infected, thank you!
Oh my God, it's week two for me as well. I was out of cleaning solution for a SINGLE DAY and when I spotted some slightly yellow fluid today I FREAKED OUT. Glad it's likely healing or got irritated by my f.e mask wearing.
Got a red and painful double helix. It’s been a week since I got it and I thought it was healing so nicely. I was so nervous because I had a rejected tragus before… I now think it’s just irritated because I may have turned around in my sleep. Thanks so much for this video, now I’ve calmed down a lot haha
I had an infectiou when I was streaching my ears. Having to take it out washing it and putting Neosporin on it for a couple days. As soon as it looked and felt okay, better I sized it down and put a smaller gauge in. I'm back up to the size I want now. That was months ago and I've had no problems since
My first helix piercing got irritated sooo many times. Turned out my ear couldn't handle the material they used🤷🏼♀️ Switched materials and it's gotten so much better. So now that I know about that, getting two new piercings doesn't frighten me as much as getting my second helix😁 Also, your videos are so helpful, thanks a lot!😊
@@lune6867 I switched from titanium to surgical steel. I know lots of people praise titanium up to god and say surgical steel is bad, but my ear wasn't happy with titanium🤷🏼♀️
@@jenniferrios7703 I got all of my jewelry from the piercer I went to. Unfortunately, I found out they use low quality titanium as initial jewelry. If the government doesn't get in the way, I'm going to see a new piercer with better quality jewelry and hopefully that will help my two new piercings heal properly.

omg thank you so much! I've been stressing over this irritated 2nd lobe piercing and whether or not it was infected or what! Now I see it's just irritated and damn I'm way more chill.
This made me feel so much better! I got my both of my Tragus done about 3 weeks ago and recently i got tiny little blister like bumps that release tiny bits of clear liquid. But almost painless (sore sometimes) so that was the main give away to ease my mind that it probably isn't infected.
I needed this video when I had my snug done. It got so inflamed I thought it was infected so I did more after care and was shocked it kept getting more irritated. It wasn't infected, just really swollen. My piercer needed to change the jewelry a bigger size even though there was enough space in the old one for swelling, just not this kind of swelling
@@suhanimaheshwari2312 no God no. I didnt have an infection so I didn't go to the doctor. I use a saline salt water solution, let it soak for a minute, then wiped it off. But no. I didn't take out the jewelry. I just put in a bigger one for the swelling. If your worried about an infected piercing, get it checked. But mine wasn't infected. It was just irritated
Heat is a good identifier, but ears often get red/hot first when in the right environment. I've many times worried by ear was infected because it was a little red & warm, but then also realized my other ear was also red and warm, + the room was probably too hot lol
Thank you this was super helpful! My third lobe was irritated and looked like it was transitioning to an infection. I think its because i put in jewelry that was too thick really abruptly.
my second lobe piercing got infected real bad and i treated it impressively well and now it's like 98% healed. my other second lobe wasn't exactly infected maybe on the verge because it had like a ball or a bump and i popped it with a needle, cleaned all the blood and puss and now it's great! still not healed but maybe 80%. i'm still caring for it so it should heal hopefully 😌. i dealt with it and i'm so proud of myself of how well it turned out. thank you for your video and the information you shared 🧡
Im actually here because i got a lip piercing done recently, not even a full week, and it’s slightly red, not much swelling but it does have this slight yellow substance so I thought it was infected. So i now know it’s just irritated and i have to keep curing the same way, thanks it actually calmed me a lot 💓💓💓
aah so glad I'm not the only one!! Mine only has red-purple around it with some small yellow-ish puss and I was freaking out for 2 days!! And I only had it for 3! Now I know it's just really irritated so I think I'm just gonna be careful on how much I talk, sleep, and what I eat. So relieved ❤️🩹❤️🩹
just got my left nip done a week ago, and wanted to brush up on irritation vs infection since i havent had piercings since my tongue + labret (which i took out 4ish years ago), and this video helped me a ton! especially since the very idea of an infected nip is terrifying 😂 side note, I adore the way you drop the g on ing words, its so endearing and friendly sounding ❤
I will say from my experience, be VERY diligent about cleaning your nip piercing! I skipped one cleaning of the two or three I would do every day and I got an abscess in my dang booby. Worst pain ever and now I’m terrified of getting them pierced ever again 😅
(07/11/2022) Yesterday I just cleaned some build up behind my helix piercing and it irritated the heck out of it! I woke up this morning with a "fat" ear. It was swollen, itchy, and had more gunk in the front of my piercing. Seeing this made me go back to using Neilmed, twice a day. I'm almost five months in and I'm ready to throw in the towel!
My rook got infected my whole ear doubled in size over night. Walked into the doctors and she was like whoa! Let's get some antibiotics for that. I didn't even go for that reason. X
@@guadalupeurbina3194 don't b it went down pretty fast had no problems with it appart from that. Getting my conch and another forward helix end of the month. X
This video has helped me so much! I was scared for a second bc I just got my second piercing and it was swollen and sore but not as much. I got a little scared when I seen some liquid come out at as well but this definitely reassured me lol. I assumed it was bc I was sleeping on it but I’m confident it’ll go away tho
@@nikushimi4986 SO SORRY FOR THE LATE RESPONSE! But I’d say it kinda sorta helps if your very dedicated. I kept using my aftercare solution for while but it was on and off. After a while I just got fed up and took it out. Probably one of the best things I did. I feel it healed a lot better on it’s own. I can put in my earrings properly now 😭
One of my third lobe piercings got infected about a week after getting pierced. I was pierced with long flat-back studs to allow for swelling, but my lobe swelled up to fill the entire length of the stud and I could feel my pulse in it. Lovely! Went to the doctor and it turned out that I had cellulitis, which can rapidly spread to the bloodstream if not treated... so yeah. Antibiotics cleared it up, thankfully. My nostril piercing (which I got at the same time as my third lobes) still isn't healed nearly 2 years later, but thankfully I haven't had any major issues with it except irritation. I wish my body handled piercings better, because I'd love to get more, but I think I'm done now, lol!
I'm totally done with piercings as well lol. my upper lobe on both ears developed keloids a few years ago so I took them out. now my 6 month belly piercing has a keloid as well :,)
My daith used to look like that too👀 I like popped the bump and it bled so much. I then packed salt and tee tree oil into it until it dried out and now it’s fine
I had massive swelling that looked like horns on my inner lip above my snakebites. Turns out they were starting to embed from being pierced with way too short bars, and also pierced at a bad angle. It may have been infected as well because of it, or might have just been the embedding/irritation I’m not sure honestly, but man it looked pretty crazy. That was a few days ago, it has mostly gone down since swapping to bigger jewelry, but just in case it was infected I’m going to wait until it goes down all the way before taking the jewelry out to have it Re pierced eventually
Hey I'm facing the same issue feels like the back of conch piercing went inside my ear , idk what to do I'm panicking so much Can you please tell me what to do??
Oh what a relief it is!!! Thanks sooo much for clearing this topic up! I always wondered about the difference. I just got 12 piercings in one day. Only on day 4 with them and my Medusa is just irritated. Sending positive vibes and stay safe!✨
@@madd7e It's been 3 months. They are healing pretty good. No infections. A few irritations here and there in the beginning. I got bumps on a few, but almost gone now.
My helix piercin' is 5 months hold NEVER had any issue after the initial 2 weeks, I noticed a pustule/granuloma bump on one side of the stud so I did sea salt soaks to help it like I did with my nose bump. I woke up a nap and cleaned it for the 2nd time today and noticed some blood on the Q tip. I don't believe its infected, just irritated.
I got my ears pierce last month, the irritation was more or less how she explained, but there was also just a tiny itty bitty leak of blood, so I’m like a month and a half into my piercing now, and my ears are about fully healed now, but I was doing my every other day sanitation of my earrings( I just take them out for an hour and soak them in alcohol) and when I took my left earring out it bled a little, I wiped it with an alcohol wipe and a minute later the bleeding stopped an I put the earrings back in, idk if that was normal or not but my ears are indeed fine now
I only have two earlobe piercings, but sadly, my body likes to overreact a lot. So even these two tend to get so irritated and frequently. I know part of it is the type of metal. One of the first pairs of earrings I wore after my first piercing was steel. I actually did get a minor infection because it was so irritated and it took so long to figure out that it was the metal of the earrings causing the issue. It was awful. To this day, if I wear any steel, I will have a reaction going by the end of the day. I personally find I have the best luck with gold plated or pure gold jewelry. Never had any reaction from that. But almost any other metal can run the risk of irritating my piercings especially if I've been lazy and not worn anything in a bit. I'd love to get more, but honestly, the amount of babying I have to do with my current ones just... kills that really fast. "Do I want to do this for still another one? Nope." I love the look of the medusa but between the fact my body just... doesn't seem to love metal overall and too much orthodontia work as a kid, I'll pass on more metal in or around my mouth.
I have 6 earlobe piercings (3 on each ear) I got my 3rd set a month and a half ago. When I took my new piercings out for the first time, there was a prominent bump and it scared the hell out of me. I had never experienced this with my 1st and 2nd sets. I had my mom check it and she said it looked fine, that it was merely irritated. I took them out again today and the bumps have shrunk. Thank goodness. I cleaned the holes, then the earring stems, then inserted them back in.
just watched this video after getting my first piercing, my left ear lobe is definitely infected, but only redness, blood and heat, very painful but i hope it heals
I've had my belly piercing for 5 years. It's been healed for a long time. But I was wearing high waisted pants and it put a lot of pressure on my piercing and made it really sore and I decided to take it out overnight. I was having trouble getting the bar back in through the bottom hole the next day, which shocked me cause I didn't think I would have any issues. But it looked slightly scabbed and I had to go through the top hole to re open the piercing. Now a couple days later it's still sore, though not as sore, and some dried white stuff came out after it got wet in the shower. I can't find anything online about an irritatedd, ALREADY HEALED piercing. It's acting like it did when it was healing. So I'm hoping if I keep it clean it will heal. I don't won't to lose my piercing 🥲 this video helped me a lot though I was freaking out cause it's my favorite piercing.
So helpful! I just got my nostril pierced about 3 weeks ago. It was healing fine, but then I got a sinus infection and haven't been as gentle as I should've been while blowing my nose :/ Got a lil bump now, and was starting to worry, but I think it just is irritated. Thanks for the advice!!
My philtrum is almost two weeks old, healing beautifully. The length of the bar is irritating me, it gets caught under my teeth so frequently and I dislike the metal flat back scraping against them also, would you recommend down-sizing the bar or shall I wait another couple of weeks?
So I, haha, got an infection on my conch piercing this past May. I ALWAYS used to do the salt water solution, always had a piercer I went to whom I trusted. Then I went to one of those mall piercing shops. Not one of those gun places, they have actual needles. But they gave me this benzo-something solution to use. I went against my salt water teachings n in a couple of days my ear was infected! Red, very painful, very swollen, w a Lil blood. I knew to see my doc cuz there's no way it needed to be 'cleaned', just needed antibiotics. So got those n told the doc about the store solution vs my prior salt water mix, n he said 'DONT use the solution! Do the salt water mix cuz that solution is likely the cause of the problem!" So I went back to that n had my oral antibiotics! All well! Now I just need my length shortened on my jewelry. I'd gotten conch, daith, tragus on right ear, pierced in that order. Boy did my tragus NOT want to stop bleeding!!
They use also gun for me.. After 2 days my ears becomes red and there's a blood.. It's hot also inside.. So I remove and let my ears rest.. I have 9 and my left ears very pain.. Right ear is ok.. ☹
I have a similar problem. I got my helix done a week ago and now it’s infected and the piercer had told me not to use the salt and water solutions but to use the liquid soap that they gave me. I went to the doctor today and got antibiotics. Now I’m debating if I should switch to salt and water for my infection.
@@karenleones1263 I'd switch to salt water soak, I would probably use a clean q tip to wipe up extra water that's around the ear, but don't dab the piercing. Let it be. Take the antibiotics n remember don't touch it, don't move the jewelry, n don't sleep on that side that has the jewelry. Depending on how infected it got, it should calm down in a week or so. Maybe a couple wks to look fine again? Just depends. My piercings are all upset w me cuz I had 2 MRIs. The first one I had the pierces switch it out to glass pieces day before my mri, n then I went back the day after to swap them back out w my jewelry. But I got cocky when I had my second mri. I swapped them out myself, which a daith n tragus was difficult but I did it! However I didn't swap them out til a day after n I noticed that it was difficult to put in. I lost the glass piece holding my Labret n my daith. Luckily I was able to get my Labret n the tragus in, but the daith I thought it closed forever. I went in n they were able to put it back. Let me tell u, I think that pain was worse than when it was first pierced! I hope ur piercing calms down n get to healing right! Idk of any other tricks. But I do know that soaking in salt water, ooo it makes my ear feel better. Idk the science w the Sodium potassium exchange, but when my ear is upset, I look forward to the 2 soaks a day! Good luck!
@@sj19976 mine is really infected I clean it then maybe an hour or 2 goes by and then there’s a build up of puss again! It’s so annoying and I keep having to go back and clean it off each time unless I’m just supposed to let it build up and wait for the 2 times to clean it? My piercer said to only clean it once and it just seemed odd to only do it once. I’m honestly terrified because the doctor told me that I should take them out and I would have to go to the ER!
@@karenleones1263 So do u have other piercings? If u don't, could u be allergic to metal? My daughter is (her dad's mom is too) n weve tried all types of metals, even if a bracelet scratched her just the tiniest bit, it inflames really quickly. Actually, my first advice is to get a second opinion from another reputable piercer! (Dont go to a mall piercing place) Just a consult appt n see what they say. N take all of ur antibiotics (cuz folks will quit taking them or forget to take a pill here n there, it won't be the strength u need for any bacteria to be killed in ur system). As for cleaning, don't remove the crust that builds up. Just dab around it after soaking to dry the other areas. Don't touch the piercing. That crustiness or pus is helping u heal. It's plasma from ur blood. Plasma (aka pus n crustiness) is sent first to a cut to help protect n clean the area, then the platelets come in to assist in healing. But if its completely oozing, an off color like green or not clear (lightly tinted tan clear is ok), id go to er. When I've messed w my piercing (slept on it, bumped it w a headband, blow dried my hair, brushed my hair n hit it, pulled on it w the string of my mask, or just plain tried to "clean it out" which means moving it around n such) it got worse. Cartilage pierces take a long time to heal, n if something annoys them, they can get pretty ticked off! Leave it moist from the water soak, it'll be ok. Last May to Sept I had gotten Conch, daith, tragus, Anti tragus, n industrial all in my right ear. (Wearing earbuds or taking a hearing test, omg the pain). They still act up! Especially when I thought I could switch out the jewelry 🤣
My nipple piercings got infected and no cap I called my then boyfriend crying my eyes out. I had to go to the doctors and it was excruciating pain. They’re healed and happy now yall 😔😔
@@alicja1049 girl I needed antibiotics. I tried salt soaks and ended up spreading the infection into my lymph system. If you do a salt soak make sure to flush it with a hot water soak for another couple minutes after.
Had my helix done 6 days ago. First day was awful pain. Everyday since was not pain unless I bumped it on accident. Today it’s quite sore and a little warm.
Question!!! Since we’re only supposed to clean piercings 1-2 times a day. Am I supposed to clean the light fluid and crust every time I see it? Or just keep the cleaning to normal? Since we’re not supposed to over do it…..
Thank you, was getting worried, notice a tiny bit of light yellow fluid, but was not really pain like it was almost 3 weeks ago, the bruising has gone and the swelling has gone also.
I just switched out my starter nose stud after 5 months for a hoop and after a few days every one of those started happening. I think because I kept messing with it WAAAYYY more than I ever messed with it when I got it pierced. Because it was a hoop I kept spinning it around and perhaps maybe my hands were not always perfectly clean. I'm SOOO glad to have found this video, now I know I just need to go back to using some NeilMed for a few days and warm compress and salt water soaks and ibuprofen for swelling and I'll be fine. Thank you so much for this video! P.S. I got my industrial done a year ago and yes, masks would to tug and irritate. I had to be very careful because it was new.
I just got my nose pierced about three weeks ago and mine seems to be swollen a little bit and I honestly thought it was infected but maybe it’s just irritated because I like to touch it a lot. How do you do a soak? Like do I have to take it out or do I just soak gauze and put it on it?
This helps so much I have a gap in my front teeth and every now and then my Medusa /Philtrum gets caught and gets a little bump pimple looking thing with pale watery discharge that crusts over in a few days but I hate it and probably shouldn’t but sometimes pop it 🙈 then use saline spray or salt and water to clean the area and pat dry gently. Usually then in a day or 2 it’s fine . No pain from it just yucky looking worse than is. Or I accidentally bump it when my child headbutts me 😂 that actually hurts when that happens
I just had my Medusa and nose pierced almost 2 weeks ago and I hate wearing masks!! So far the healing process has been good my Medusa has gotten irritated a few times but nothing major my nose still hurts but I think it’s part of the healing process
Thanks for the info. Recently had my nostril pierced and it's sore but not infected. So far, no rejection like I had with a belly button piercing. Cheers.
THANK YOU! I was lowkey scared lmao bc I got my Industrial pierced 2 days ago and I’ve never had any problems with my nose piercing that I got 2 years ago, so I was a little worried but it’s just irritated.
I am questioning whether my noise piercing is infected, but this video put me a little more at ease. I do have a bump, it is a little red, and a little sore. I’ve been cleaning it twice a day like I should and I’ve noticed that my skin is a little more flaky/ dry around it. I’ve also been like a whiteish clearish liquid as well as blood, some dry and a little bit. I’m near that point where I’m suppose to go in and see my piercer to have him downsize it… plan on doing it next week. I would love not to have to go in and see him before Wednesday and am hoping it is just an irritation bump, but don’t I don’t know. I’m pretty sure it’s irritated with me bc it did get snagged and while I try to immediately tell myself to be careful obviously this past time I didn’t 🤦♀️ anyone dealt with these symptoms or do they sound more like irritation or infected to you?

I can only wear metals, like gold, titanium and silver. Any cheap material will irritate my second ear lobe piercings, but my first earlobe piercings I can wear whatever material. Isn’t it weird how our body’s work 🤷🏽♀️
I just got my belly button pierced a little less than two weeks ago and it looks very angry, so I've been hyper aware of it. It doesn't hurt anymore, but I think a part of why it seems to be so upset is because I forget it's there and accidentally hit it, and I think I was cleaning it too much (about 4-6 times a day) so I cut down on cleaning it (2-3 times a day) and the soreness has gone away but it's still super flaky and has some discharge. One of my friends got a belly piercing earlier this year and keeps reassuring me that it looks fine but I can't help but be concerned about it. I know that a belly button piercing isn't fully healed for 6mos-1yr but when should the redness and flakiness go away? It's been like this the whole time so far.
my earlobe piercings were almost constantly infected (puss, little blood, swollen and hot) whenever i wore earings (thought it was just irritated lmao). figured out i can't wear silver... didn't know how to care for it, but i just used a little medical alcohol cloth to clean the spot, kept small gold earings in and kept twisting them every so often. didn't know if i did the right thing but it often healed in 2 ish days. thanks for confirming my suspicion of it being in fact infections and not just irritation

And try not to think about it
Pregnant with a 10 year old belly ring. Took it out for about 3 weeks until I was able to get a longer bar- turns out I have nothing to worry about. Thanks lol
so i got an earlobe piercing at claires, and the side of the earlobe is a bit itchy. it isnt red, swollen, tender, no pus, nor sore. its just a bit itchy and ive been doing some good aftercare so i hope it isnt infected.. (ive had the piercings for a week now. i got them on the tenth)
I had a double conch just done Thursday and woke up yesterday to itbeing really swollen and throbbed and hot. I went back last night and they put in short posts before and exchanged them for longer ones. Still swollen and hot but should go down in a few days.
Exact same situation. Had double conch done 6/1, 6/5 ear was SUPER swollen. I knew I needed longer posts. Went to see my piercer, we switched the posts; swelling started going down immediately.
OKKK!!! I was so scared because I thought I had a keloid or something😭 but my piercing is just irritated and I’m pretty sure it’s from me doing the most by changing it several times and tryna stick a piercing that doesn’t fit😭
@@maryjane-hh3it Honestly I didn’t do much😭 I sorta just left it alone and let it heal on its own since it wasn’t too bad!! It wasn’t a keloid!!! It was just irritated and felt weird!!! I will try asking someone else in the comments to see if they can help!!!
Okay soo... My Nostril Piercings HURTS AS HELL but its just a little sore... a little swollen and stuff.. But I can't figure out, what the cause for that irritation could be... Because I've been having these irritations multiple times... Sometimes, everything is fine, and then, suddenly, it hurts again. I don't wear any makeup in this region or anything... And I don't know if its just the mask that keeps irritating my piercing.. Because it were also fine with the mask, but also not...
I have an nose piercing infection right now and it’s annoying as heck! I been trying to find ways for it to go away.. I tried tea tree oil and coconut oil but it seems like it’s getting worse. I still have my salt- water solution so I’ll try that and see
Take it out asap hunny. It's your nose!! you cannot afford an infection in the centre of your face. Skin necrosis is not pretty and hair can't cover up any deformity. Right now my 4th lobe stud is not working out either. I'm gutted but have to accept it's rejecting. Since removing stud my lobe is saying "phewww glad that's gone". Some things aren't meant to be 😭😭
@@googlestinx I'm a little (a lot) late but don't take out an infected piercing no matter what. Once you take it out, the hole will close and will trap the infection inside, making it worse. If it's truly infected, see someone about it to get it treated. Please don't take it out if you suspect an infection 😭 An infection whilst doesn't look great, it's better to leave it in. More often than not it won't leave a scar, just might not look great for a month or two while treating it. Taking it out will do more bad than good
Freaking stretched my lobes and my right ear couldn't drain properly so it was swollen, hella irritated, hot, red and shiny. Took out the tunnel and it drained immediately!! So gross & satisfying, hasn't bothered me since.
i have an infection on one side of my industrial right now. when i was sick i couldn’t move on my own without throwing up so i didn’t put energy into cleaning my piercing, which i regret. it was irritated before i was sick and doing fine but now it’s hot, red, swollen, and the bump doubled in size in 2 nights. i’m going to visit my piercer to see what we can do to help it. i hope i don’t have to redo the piercing
Thank you so much for your information. After watching I now know that my nostril piercing is just irritated and not infected. I did think it was infected so I started hot water soaks which I am going to stop doing. For the first time my piercing fell out yesterday morning and My nose has been pierced for five weeks. It is a little red on the outside and tender on the inside. I do experience a bit of white puss on the outside of my piercing but nothing more.
*Sighs in relief.* 😌 Thank you so much, Gretchen. 🙏 My mom and I were questioning whether or not my industrial piercing was infected or not the other day because we both noticed redness, swelling - I've noticed some clear/slightly yellow fluid coming from my holes before - and a small, red piercing bump on top of my left ear where my industrial piercing is. 😓😅 Thank goodness, this video made me realize it's just slightly irritated, not infected... I purchased new industrial piercings (including a couple different colors) which are somewhat bigger in size... The first industrial bar I got initially when I first got my industrial piercing was WAY too small, so now I have better size industrial bars and my piercing bump is deswelling/going away. I've also noticed I haven't noticed as much "crusties," pus/fluid coming from my piercing holes, swelling, or redness as of recently. So I think it's slowly healing itself... 😊🙃😛 Thank you once again for recording and uploading this video, Gretchen!!! 😊 🙏 💓 💜
I’ve had my belly pierced for around seven months now and it’s been irritated almost the whole time just like my nose was before I changed the jewelry out. I’m assuming my belly is irritated cuz I’m allergic to whatever is in the metal so I’m gonna switch it for a silicon piercing and hope that cleans it up completely The irritation isn’t bad at all, just red with crusties and every other day I’m having a melt down convincing myself it’s infected 😭 but I’m hoping once I change it, it clears up because my nose was HELL healing. A week after I changed it completely healed Edit: I didn’t even bother, I took it out and let it heal and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. Just got my septum and the other side of my nose pierced with titanium piercings and it’s been great
Okay- I'm stumped. I got my nostril pierced about a month ago, and had the jewellery changed two weeks in. Over the last three or so days there's been a bump roughly the size of your average nostril stud, (I'm wearing a ring) and blood coming from it. The odd thing is, there's absolutely no pain (and I'd know, I've quite a low pain tolerance) and no heat coming from it - no smell either. Just blood and a big-ish bump. I've been putting TCP antiseptic on it and doing a warm compress with salt water, but should I get it checked out?
That's where's the problem, you changed it too soon and put a ring. Before switching to a ring you should wait for it to heal 101% with the stud and then you can change it. It may take it even a year to change it into a hoop and usually nostril gets infected the most. I got it 3 times and 3 times I took it out, then did septum two times and the first time they pierced it too low now I have just the septum and it's a bit irritated but it's placed right at least. I've had it for a month so I'm kinda worried about it. I'm doing litha once in a while and when I feel it needs to be cleaned I use a salin solution. My first nostril got infected because I put a cheap ring and had to take it out with twizers for jewelry because it was stuck and had so much blood coming out of it but my stubborn ass got it redone two other times only to take it out again. So I'm saying this from my experience and what every piercer say. I advice you go back to a stud, let it heal completely and then you can switch with a hoop made of sterilized good material. Pay attention to your body's reaction. Also to help with the bump you can either use camomile or tea tree oil and the bump should go away but it's too soon to put the ring in. It's been three months and I hope you're doing better but remember even three months is not enough to call it 100% healed even though we all have different bodies. Take this as advice and not criticism. ❤️
I got 2 ear piercing in the span of 2 days. I got my first hole and second hole. I was so scared that it was infected until I realized that it was super irritated. Cleaning them extra until the bump and swelling go down
I just got my tragus pierced last tuesday and it was swollen like hell. Went back to my piercer last saturday for a larger bar. That switch did hurt so damn bad. And ofcourse: more swelling. It was throbbing and felt a bit warm. It now looks like it is calming down. Hopefully this mad af tragus cools down. 😂 This video is really informative. Thank you so much!

well, i’m still confused… i have my mid helix piercing (it’s been almost three months now) and today morning i noticed that the back part was extremely dirty and it was causing the piercing to always be kind of itchy, but it never hurt or anything. since it was extremely dirty, i cleaned it with saline solution and a q-tip, but when it came out, the q-tip had a little of blood, and since then, it hurts pretty much to touch and to clean. so, is it an infection or is it just irritated?

You’re like literally the best. I was stressing so much for the past three days. I think my nose piercing is infected because it’s slightly red and have a small piercing bump. My friends were telling me that it was an infection but after this video I realized it wasn’t. Thank you so so much! It also fell out my nose before but I put it in super fast without cleaning it so i immediately thought it was an infection. It isn’t hurting nor have pus that’s a good thing.
do u still have the piercing?
Thank you for easing my anxiety! I only have an irritated piercing but boy was I panicking 😅

I love the way you say “piercing”.
I do, too.

Oh my GOODNESS! I'm in the exact same situation! About two weeks ago I got it pierced, and little fluid out of the LEFT EAR! Haha that's hilarious
Oh my God, it's week two for me as well. I was out of cleaning solution for a SINGLE DAY and when I spotted some slightly yellow fluid today I FREAKED OUT. Glad it's likely healing or got irritated by my f.e mask wearing.

I got my ears pierce last month, the irritation was more or less how she explained, but there was also just a tiny itty bitty leak of blood, so I’m like a month and a half into my piercing now, and my ears are about fully healed now, but I was doing my every other day sanitation of my earrings( I just take them out for an hour and soak them in alcohol) and when I took my left earring out it bled a little, I wiped it with an alcohol wipe and a minute later the bleeding stopped an I put the earrings back in, idk if that was normal or not but my ears are indeed fine now
Well this helped a lot, I thought my bridge piercing was infected but I’m happy to know it’s just irritation.
I just came for the information but was delighted by your lovely personality, great work and vibes!

Struggling with this right now. What did you do to heal it ?
I don't know about the fluid but from what I've been learning were supposed to get the crustys off when they appear so they don't irritate it
Thank you, was getting worried, notice a tiny bit of light yellow fluid, but was not really pain like it was almost 3 weeks ago, the bruising has gone and the swelling has gone also.
Glad to read that others have this too. Although my piercer said it's gonna be a bitch to heal 😅
this has given me such peace of mind. i'm totally new to piercings and this information was exactly what i was looking for 😮💨
You're so pretty!
Thank you for the advice! I also love your letter board! I’m a huge Ghost fan!
Literally got the same stuff! Though it’s been 5-6 years since I got my piercing done. I can’t bear wearing earrings now
What did your piercer do to downsize it? I’m at about the same point
Thanks for clearing that up! I had a snug piercing and it’s been my most difficult one to heal but at least I know it’s just irritated.
can u tell me exactly what ur stung piercing looks like ? mine is irritated too but Its been too long and im concerned. like I've had this skin colored bump on it for years and it wont go away.
This is so helpful. I’m on week 5 or 6 of having my daith and it’s a little irritated (I think from my ring moving too much and maybe too much cleaning). This really put my mind at ease. :)
I am in the same situation xD my mom swears that it's infected and that I need to remove the jewelry. It's just 🎶irritation🎶
@@maggiem9265 yes!! I’ve gotten better at cleaning mine without moving it so it’s not irritated now thankfully. Now I just have bumps. It’s taking a bit to figure out what works for mine haha
@@SketchyMochi7 I'll be working on that too but I think my biggest issue is sleeping on it :/ but we've got this!!
helloo!! im confused should i still continue cleaning my piercing even if it’s irritated??
@@bianca4070 for sure! If you don't the irritation will get worse, but be very gentle with it. I started using a mix of 1 cup boiled water, less than a teaspoon of sea salt, and like 2 drops of tea tree oil, then dipping a q-tip in that, then very VERY gently cleaning my daith. It was bad (like, crusty blood and a little pus), but now it's healing much better and the bleeding's stopped completely. But tl,dr YES keep cleaning it (like, religiously) because it WILL get infected. I also 100% recommend a piercing pillow it's been a lifesaver.
Me trying to figure out if my cartilage piercing is infected or irritated.. 😂 I don’t know!!🙉🙈 HELP please! 💚

OMG PLS HELP IM SO SCARED I don’t know if I have an infection it’s like a bump and my ear looks red I got the ear gun at clares and had to take off my earring right now because it was hurting to bad I take it off and it’s bleeding and a bump or puffy it looks a little bigger then my other ear but it doesn’t look like the infection earring pictures so I don’t know pls help
You just helped me with my anxiety. I just got my tongue pierced yesterday and it’s been oozing the clear fluid for a few hours and I was so terrified that I was already infected. Thank you so much 😭❤️
My nose ring started bleeding a little yesterday. I’ve had it for about 2 months now…. I haven’t seen any blood since the second day I got it. I haven’t had any issues until yesterday. 🤔
I'm so glad I found this video, I was going crazy abt my piercing, thank you so much for helping me calm down. I hope you have always have nice days
I've had my Monroe pierced for 3 years and just the other day, the piercing started hurting. Today still hurting and a lil swollen. I've started cleaning it inside and out. I have a little flat hard spot next to the piecing, inside my lip. Is this just irritation? Should I lay off cleaning it, see what it does?
Thank you so much ! I was really concerned about my piercing it’s a dermal piercing just below my neck, and it’s been getting infected pretty often so while watching this video I understood what’s causing the irritation and helped me calm down too! Aaaa can’t thank you enough
Thank you for this!! Btw, I’m fascinated by the dropped g’s in your accent! “Piercin” “swellin” “concernin”. I’m sure people have asked you this before, but is it a regional thing? Not sure where you’re located/from.
This video made me feel so much better. Thank you! Also your accent is very cute and I love your look. 😊
I was literally wondering this every time I look at my nipple piercing😭 I think it’s just hella irritated😢
Thanks I now understand y I am basically sweating in my ear pierced lobe and that everything is normal not anything more than a bunch of Dead skin and liquid which thanks to u I learnt about iritated ear not infected like most of my family and friends were saying to me
I got my snake bites done less than two weeks ago and one of them looks perfect bur the other one is slightly swollen and maybe im just paranoid cuz i dont want them to get infected but your video helped me to calm down a bit
Samezies!
homie same those crusties I get on one side got me mad worried but I think it's ok XD
Mine looks angry too I only ever clean it twice a day though
I’m struggling with this right now. I’m five days in and mine seems so angry. It’s red around the balls & still pretty swollen & soar 😢
Mine had stopped being painful then all pf a sudden I feel pain I believe its irritated 😅
my earlobe piercings were almost constantly infected (puss, little blood, swollen and hot) whenever i wore earings (thought it was just irritated lmao). figured out i can't wear silver... didn't know how to care for it, but i just used a little medical alcohol cloth to clean the spot, kept small gold earings in and kept twisting them every so often. didn't know if i did the right thing but it often healed in 2 ish days. thanks for confirming my suspicion of it being in fact infections and not just irritation
Super helpful. Got my helix pierced a week ago and had 0 issues. Woke up today irritated and this video helped a lot. Thank you. Guess my early new piercing experience came slightly delayed lol.
And what did you do to heal it?

@@lemonade1485 is it normal to be swollen after 5 days of piercing? What did you do did you use salt to clean it?
@@sharmainea.3653 I think it is.
maybe you touched it when changing by mistake or when sleeping. I made a compress only once with boiled water and salt without iodine. But my advice is to make cold water compresses and physiological serum(this is what I did), only clean it in the morning and in the evening with anti bacterian soap and physiological serum (this is what my pierercer told me to do).

I’m assuming my belly is irritated cuz I’m allergic to whatever is in the metal so I’m gonna switch it for a silicon piercing and hope that cleans it up completely
The irritation isn’t bad at all, just red with crusties and every other day I’m having a melt down convincing myself it’s infected 😭 but I’m hoping once I change it, it clears up because my nose was HELL healing. A week after I changed it completely healed
Edit: I didn’t even bother, I took it out and let it heal and it was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Same here
That's where's the problem, you changed it too soon and put a ring.
