I so agree. I wouldn't want a portrait with a crooked eye and broken looking nose on me forever. At least with the dragon it could fade and you could possibly do a rework and the dragon could be more readable maybe

I love the debate over the dark interlocking tattoo. He had a great point that no eyes are the same, and the one jackass judge was like “well it doesn’t matter” lmfao
my first ever class my first course of fine arts in uni, they asked me what I thought about art... I basically said we aren't perfectly symmetrical, and things don't always look "perfect" but we do our best to make it look that way (not what I believe, depends on subject and etc) but I thought that's what the whole art industry these days expect us to do. And the prof asked me how I knew stuff like that, I said it was just a guess. Pretty much like that. YOu have to make it look pleasingly symmetrical.
in my 3D modeling class we were taught that sculpting both sides of a face to be exactly the same makes it look uncanny. at the most, both sides can be very symmetrical but shouldn’t be an exact copy of each other (unless the artist aims to make their character more stylized). idk what that judge was on.
@@kexuis7954 couldn’t that fit though with a tattoo like this? It’s meant to be an otherworldly being so having the symmetry line up perfectly or close to it, would be fine because having an uncanny feeling about the tattoo works for what the tatto is representing?

That’s one thing I’ve always not liked about this show. I understand that there are ways to make it less painful, but some people just don’t take pain as well. Plus with the add on of a time limit you can’t take a ton of breaks
Yes and no. I think it should depend on the artist, if the artist is absolutely hammering the skin and the canvas needs a break for that reason then that should come out of their time.
Yes and no. I've had artists that were awful and it seemed like they were doing everything they could to cause as much inflammation and after damage as possible.

xox_Brittany_22 i mean she does have different tattoos that aren’t as dark so he should’ve thought about it a little more, would you want a black buttcheek? Lmao
For real. Like I get that you want to keep the person in mind when drawing, and could it have been ‘softer’ to go with the rest of her tattoos being ‘softer’ even though it’s different styles sure but phrasing it like that makes it sound the opposite of how it was intended.
Most of my tattoos are random because they are different things that I love. Some are softer and some are dark and not feminine. Why does it matter who its on as long as the canvas likes it?
I saw a coment that made a fair point. As they can not decide how the tatoo looks and women like softer ones more often they should make one she is more likley to make. More important you can make it darker harder to make it lighter
I love how theyve completely cut Oliver out of the show but his commentary is still needed for context, so hes like a ghost who just occasionally makes a comment hahaha. Good on them for removing him as best as they could though
The guy who kept repeating "contrast" I'm completely on his side, as someone who does art as a hobby contrast is something you can easily forget when looking at a piece for too long
I think that's a big reason to not EVER get a tattoo in a contest that has time involved, like this.. If you would've done these tatt's in a studio, the artist would have time to take breaks and stuff.. taking a look on previous work after 1 hour or something can really change that perspective..
It's really annoying when the judges play favorites in an art competition. It really takes away from the integrity. Seeing an artists react was cherry. Seeing them pick her competitors crappy hammerhead in the next shot was fd up.

During all years Ink Master been airing, time after time, I see that, when the judges choose between a man or a woman, regardless how treppid or horrid the tattoe the man did, like in this case the ink blob with no face, its always the woman that gets sent home, even though the tattoed folks already chosen what they consider the worst tatto. It drives me up the wall as it is time and time again in so many of the programs during the years. Women are always booted off first. Not sure if they are aware they are doing this but if we watched back every program its clearly noticable. Maybe they should change the panel and the tatto artists a bit more. Why don't you have a woman on the judging panel for intsance? Change the panel up that would be advisable and have two men and two women. It has become so repetitive and same same. x

Because there are multiple motives which are more feminine and wouldn’t look as Good on a guy and reversed. Also a lot of girls just demand something more „feminine“. There is a reason why flowers are mostly tattooed on woman and not men
I think the example in this video is a bit silly but I remember seeing that one back piece where a lady got a huge zombie pushing out of her skin (artist's choice) and agreeing with the judges that the artist should have gone with something a bit more feminine. All I could think was 'That would be very unappealing to look at for anyone having sex with her from behind'.

my first ever class my first course of fine arts in uni, they asked me what I thought about art...
@@kexuis7954 YEEEES! SO TRUE! I remember I had to sculpt a dragon once, and the teacher stressed us to break the symmetry as much as possible.
@@kexuis7954 couldn’t that fit though with a tattoo like this? It’s meant to be an otherworldly being so having the symmetry line up perfectly or close to it, would be fine because having an uncanny feeling about the tattoo works for what the tatto is representing?
