Using the Mag was the same thing. If you knew you could pull it off, it would be an excellent choice. But if you messed it up, well thats wraps.
I remember watching an episode where a mermaid tattoo was voted the worst because the mermaid was ugly. Artist just goes "But the canvas asked me to make her ugly.."

Yes but iirc the canvas picked the design.
Sometimes you just have to go with what the canvas wants and make the best of it.
There are better Tigers out there but most of their line work was solid at least.
Thats the exact type of thing i could see someone get in a basement at like 16
I agree I’d be livid if I had to wear that especially with one tooth being shaded. Tbh Marked Society should’ve been sent home in the previous episode.
the people who volunteer to get tatted on this show are so brave
Brave, care free or stupid just a matter of interpretation I guess
For the real reference tattoos, that’s was supposed to be an alligator? I thought it was a snake.
A dog bro🤣🤣
Honestly as an artist, cherubs, babies and toddlers and children are SO HARD to not make look like an old man or creepy or something
Just ask every medieval artist ever.
And thus is why I would never get a tattoo with one of those people 😂
All the artists acts like they’re too good to be there, their level of entitlement is crazy
It's ironic because a lot of them shouldn't be there. I'm curious as to how a lot of them even ended up on the show. I would hate to see the portfolios of the people that don't get picked.
Have u ever met a tattoo artist. All I've ever met are like that
@@walt1709 honestly it’s so weird
When I meet artists who just draw on an iPad or paper they’re much more humble
Its reality TV so what they say should not be taken too seriously because the show wants drama.
@@ambienbrain8261 probably just picked the cheapest people to fly out
That volcano tattoo is terrible. I mean, it’s a nice painting but to have a large, black mass on your body is so bad. How do you build tattoos around that
I thought it was better than the one it lost to.
It looks like a giant bruise 😬
@@JohnSmith-yd5wq how the hell did you think that was better xD
More cowbell fixes everything
It looks like someone has internal bleeding on their ribs
Damn they all acted like absolute children when DJ thought to use a mag. Since when did it say that you couldn’t lmaooooo
As much as I love Chris Nunez, the helmet Think Before You Ink did was not samurai but in fact a Roman Imperial Gallic helmet.
was looking for this comment
Ngl that alligator was pretty bad I wouldn't want it tattooed on me
I genuinely thought it was a snake at first
shud v say snacodile 😂🤣😅
lol xD
It kind of looks like a warped Komodo dragon.
Agreed, I'd much rather have the snake that got sent home because at least it looks like a snake. I don't know what animal that is, but it sure as hell isn't an alligator
I thought it was a dog like a Rottweiler or something lol
Super impressed by dj with his multiple lines by using a mag. Those artists talking and mad are just hating they can't pull that technique
Man they all were salty cause dj outsmarted them lmao
“Thats why the vests and road signs are that color” POP OFF LALO
They were just mad that they didn't think of DJ's mag trick first lmao
Ikr they just worked smarter not harder plus it was a risk on its own if you mess up it’s more than just one line but if you don’t you’ll get more than one good line
Think before you ink should have never been there. People are walking around with horrible tattoos because of them.
Well. I guess they didn't really think... before they inked
Quite a few of these teams shouldn't have been there tbh tri-cities tattoo especially lol
@@bonehunter6967 their name is a warning, and a Omen
The one had a terrible attitude
Yeah I agree. Rich I wanted to punch in his face in that season. And Oliver even said critiquing them is like talking to a brick wall. And I agree.
The volcano was so upsetting it was a huge blob on their skin!
It looks like dude got hit by a bus.
I actually really like the tattoo, it just needs some type of framing for that sad outline, but the image itself is awesome
@@eavittarts707 no it wasn’t, he looks like he got tortured by taking his shirt off and shot his ribs with a paintball gun then they hit it with a hammer
@@eavittarts707 I liked the tattoo as well, I think it looked a hell of alot better then the other one. I'm not saying it didn't look blobby but that coulda been fixed with some kind of frame like u said.
@@ShittyShittyGameGang I would like it as a painting, but not as a tattoo.
Person: not being able to take how heavy handed the artist is and feeling all the pain
Tattoo artist: They're INSANE!!
You have to be realistic with what you want and there's been LOADS of canvasses that were FAR TOO OPRIMISTIC in their design and what they can take
Right 😂 yes there are some horrible canvases and some of them definitely overestimate their tolerance, but you really shouldn’t call a canvas crazy if you’re super heavy handed and rough
And then delivers the ugliest girl ive ever seen in the competition
That bothers me anyway, none of them should trash talk their canvasses. Its a customer service industry to an extent.. and those canvasses are probably gonna watch the show, at least the episode they're on. It's just in bad taste IMO
Honestly, I can't tell a tattoo is bad until the judges point out the faults.
Well we should remember that some of the best artists in the world come onto this show. So even the "worst" tattoo is sooo much better then most artists out there.
not even the horrible anatomy ones? like the short snout alligator or the tiger with no logical anatomy at all?
When I watch the show I find myself saying I would wear most of the tattoos that come out of it. Sure there are more than a few bad ones but most of the critiques are on small things most people would never notice. I also don't really consider tattooing a perfect art form. It's staining skin with needs and it's very difficult to do anything with perfection.
@@holdenbauer1255 Just kinda adding onto your previous point/backing it up ^^ No art is ever completely perfect. Anywhere in the world. It can _look_ perfect, but there's always going to be something, no matter how small; it's likely to be stuff that just the artist would notice after a certain point. It's like that for every artist, tattoo or not (just a regular digital artist here)
For me, they rarely show the tattoo long enough for me to find the flaws.
Them saying "using a mag is cheating" is like telling a mechanic using an impact over a ratchet that he's "cheating"
DJs mag tattoo was GORGEOUS, I’d have that on me any day.
why the fuck did they send them home the other tattoos DESIGNS even sucked
@@teleportingpotatoe they didn’t go home. they were the winners that season
“You sneezed? Bless you” lol
Picasso: *guttural Rage*
Dave: “...what was that? I’m sorry...”
I couldn't stop laughing
Yo when dave said that I was cracking and Lalo bought picasso down
Lalo screwed Picasso over big time..
Also.."it's a cupcake and three blueberries" made me crack up
"Bless you, you sneezed" JSKSJSKJS
Omg I watched it like 5 times 🤣
The gator from the first elimination shocks me every time I see it. Because first I see it, it looks like a badly drawn snake. Then they say it's the gator and I'm like ????
I cannot emphasize enough that the dude from Tri Cities Tattoo is literally why they ended up in the bottom like... 3 times.
Also using a mag wasnt cheating, he was still doing delicate work. If I saw that I wouldve picked up a mag too. The only reason no one else did was to try and take a swing at old town ink in the pettiest way possible
I’m thinking it might be one of those tv moments. It’s not like placing them in the bottom would have made them go home for that tattoo. Just a bit of drama.
"SAMURAI" got me XD
OH MY GOD
THAT WAS TOO GOOD XDD
Me too that was very funny 😂😂
Yeah lmao
I wasnt expecting that from Chris 🤣
I felt bad for the girl that got that crappy princess type battle scene. That was awful.
Ikr, they couldn't of slapped some blood on the drawing to make it look a bit more like a fight?
Yeah I agree. Tbh I am no tattoo artist but I think I would’ve done a better drawing than what they did. To me the princess looked fine other than the hand.
I died when he said "shoulderless woman" lmaooo.
30:20 Not a samurai helmet lmao
The confidence in which he tears into them about something that he obviously doesn't know anything about is pretty crazy.
Using a Mag was such a well executed plan. Reminds me of this racing game called Wipeout. In that game there were shortcuts in the track, but they were exponentially harder to do, so it was only beneficial to take them if you knew you were good enough- hence the nickname "skill-cuts". Using the Mag was the same thing. If you knew you could pull it off, it would be an excellent choice. But if you messed it up, well thats wraps.
The artist be like
" Whoaa my tattoo is dopeee"
The jury be like
" Nope , your tatoo is totally ugly "
I remember watching an episode where a mermaid tattoo was voted the worst because the mermaid was ugly. Artist just goes "But the canvas asked me to make her ugly.."
These type of compilations sure make me pay more attention to small details in artwork.
These compilations are making me recheck my tattoos 😂
@@chloemiller2483 right!😂
It helps improve my drawing.
I do not do tattoos, I don't even like them, but the skill of some of the artists is amazing
"Lines only." not "LinERS only."
It's the worst elimination line of all time. "Please, pack your machines and move out."
That sounds like what a failed tattoo artist's wife might say as she serves him with divorce papers.
I adored the use of the mag, its so clever to do. Using a single needle would take so much longer to do and would add more pressure. I'd use a mag too
Black Anchor is clearly amazing, but the background of that volcano looks like a bruise from a car crash.
I always LIVE for them hating on DJ using a magnum xD oh noo, someone is working smarter than me, shucks!
the way Chris says SAMURAI
😂😂I know that was too funny
I honestly don't know where he got samurai from, maybe from the sides but thats a gladiator helm, but it does look like a feather fight.
it was so weird too lol cuz that’s legit a roman helmet
@@cosmicmustache9312 I think their bad artistry is what makes it look more samurai like
@@eatsnowanddie it's definitely a samurai helmet dude. Even the artists didn't know what to say when they were asked so they probably just googled warrior helmets and chose a samurai one. Where do you get the idea that it's a gladiator helmet?? Gladiator helmets don't look like that lol
The way I ugly laughed when Chris said that the two helmet are from different continents 🤣🤣🤣
It’s weird how they try to make it seem like Oliver isn’t there, but his voice still comes through from time to time.
Bruh tri city was in the bottom every round
I kinda feel like the judges were beating up tri-city each week. They weren’t that bad. I felt like they had some solid tattoos.
Also I’m talking about think before you ink, not allegory arts.
@@bookfan22 they’re tattoos weren’t bad, it just they’re application was bad. They had good designs but they’re execution lacked every time
Black anchor's volcano tattoo looks like a weird 90's computer learning game, I feel like I can turn the page to read more...
Omgg 💀
I feel bad for the canvases the most
so do i, but then again they knew what they were signing up for
God when Picasso went “HYEH” he sounded like a sumo wrestler getting ready to compete 💀💀
Ugh I hate when the artists aren’t understanding that these canvas’ have to permanently have these tattoos
The tiger that The Marked Society did cracked me up....it looked like an alchemist cat wanted to turn itself into a tiger, but somehow messed up the formula and in the process got tangled on the vines 😂
Black Anchor: We can go back to the shop and add details.
Judges (and literally any IM fan): So you’ve chosen...death.
I love these compilations that include the deliberation! Like I’m watching all the best parts of the show
This show really highlights how you should always be super picky when choosing an artist
**sees "dangerous" animals**
My brain: PRETTY BABIES!!
The infamous Mag😂 my mans showed a 200IQ move and all the other plebs complaining.
Ima come back when the comments are more developed

We could just talk tho
Virgin powaaa 💪
I mostly see ppl just talking about the mag,the attitude problem and the blob volcano tattoo
i’ve been scrolling for a while just searching for some funny comments or at least some interesting ones but i only see quotes and time stamps😭
Imagine you get a tattoo and the artists saying “this is sick!” But it’s in the bottom 😅😅😅
Chop it up to tough competition 😬🤷🏽♂️
Using the mag needle is like the old saying goes: Work smarter, not harder. They used everything that was available to them and the other teams didn't think of. Easily the most big brain move in Ink Master
I've never gotten a tattoo. But after this, I would stay away from Tri-Cities Tattoo. Jeeeeezus. Bottom every time
Cool designs, messy application in terms to the best in the world
This is EXACTLY what I want Inked to be like. No drama among artists; no flash challenges; tons of artwork. I think I'd even prefer a condensed Inked mini series over a full-fledged season.
Dude, what was with the attitudes this season? They were so snappy
Just go to show you most of the artist arent used to being in a "team" their ego is always upfront rather than working with their partner/team mates
Dj is the best artist to ever be on the show and he keeps coming back for more and kills it everytime
Him, Jamie, and Anthony are great.
Felt bad for Picasso. He IS a talented illustrator and did keep saying about the color. Wish his partner listened
The Mag was not only clever.
It made that illustration look so sparse and clean.
Everyone else's looked like cluttered lines.
They’re just mad they didn’t think of using the mag,,,
“Bless you, you sneezed”
OH MY-
Lmao the judges never said they couldn't use a mag for that challenge, it's not "cheating". Those tools are available for use for a reason, so use them to your advantage when you can.
Exactly- they would have said before hand if something was not allowed, plus any one of them could have asked at anytime!!
“We are judging your fundamentals” *they use their fundamentals* “THEY CHEATED!!!”
Losing it at thom prodding his canvas with a cereal bar while hes passed out 😂
dave every round : you can win the title of ink master
everyone participating :
Ö
Tri cites tattoos always look nice from afar but it’s when you look into it it starts to get sloppy
If you wanna be picky, a canvas could always- ya know, go to a shop and pay for it🤷🏻♀️
Ots a HARD balance to draw, yes its on your skin BUT it's also a competition and the tattoo has to hit the target
This is something tattoo artists have to deal with. People are picky, learn to work with them.
100%
@@uhJerryJackson In a regular shop yes but the canvases are told that it’s a COMPETITION for best tattoo artist
concerning the mag thing, I know nothing about tattoo application, other than the ones I have. But, I don't care WHAT method someone uses if the tattoo looks awesome.
