Judges: This is the worst tattoo I’ve ever seen
I'm not a tattoo expert, just a normie and everytime the judges criticize tattoos I honestly can't see the flaws. I thought most of the tattoos looked really cool except of course for the ones that looked liked a 3rd graders art. I bet those canvases have "civilian's eyes" like me. 😂
Then sometimes you think a tattoo looks bad but the judges are like "This is a masterpiece"
Also a civilian, not an artist so I have no qualifications 😅
Well what did you expect? It's a televised competition, the judges are critiquing the artistic broad strokes behind all that tattooing. There would no point for this show if the judges would just be "Oh that's nice...that looks nice...that's nice too..." 😂
If a customer loves the tattoo, screw what the judges and other artists have to say about it.
@@justmytwocentsdontgetmad For me, it's a fine line whether I like judges on competition shows like this or not. There are very few that I enjoy watching at all, and that's usually down to the judges themselves or in some cases the producers telling them how to behave "for the show". Take Masterchef for example, Marco Pierre White: objective critique, knows what he's talking about, shows empathy and compassion even though it's a competition. On the other hand, I don't like anything that comes out of Joe Bastianich's mouth on this show. He comes across as an arrogant prick. Maybe it's just for the show but I get easily annoyed when he's just talking. It was always the same with Ink Master and Navarro. I could do without him as a judge on the show. Every time he criticizes something, I already start rolling my eyes.
pony's canvas was so annoying, like it's not her job to distract you from the pain
In a regular studio setting where you pay the artist and where there isn't any pressure I feel like that is part of the job, yes. But not in this competition where you're getting a tattoo for free and you're just there to be a canvas for the artist to show their tattooing skills. Pony was so sweet and nice, there's nothing "off about her table manners". This canvas is infuriating.

I'll also say: English isn't her first language, and she clearly has some communication problems. I really think this played a major role in this
She couldn’t handle the pain so tries to blame Pony to save face, wtf!?? I would lose my mind on some of these canvases if I was competing in this competition.
She has at min 4 or 5 other pieces that aren’t incomplete so it’s definitely not on Pony. She’s just an ass and a whiny bitch that can’t handle pain but wanted a free tattoo knowing she wouldn’t have to pay for another one she wasn’t going to get completed. I guess she’s never heard of numbing lotion. Idk if she’s intelligent enough to ask if she thinks her artist is supposed to coddle her while they’re stabbing her with a needle but
Pony had THE BEST tattoo by far even unfinished. Can't believe that they gave people with patchy color, shaky and crooked lines, and blowouts go on and not her perfect rose that looked like it was a high quality photo on that bitch ass canvas.
I'm a lil salty in case you can't tell 😂 they chose drama over true skill and watching over the years it made sense why a friend of mine who sent in his work and video decided not to go when they offered him a slot.. he saw this shit for what it was just bullshit dramatized reality show

seeing the blind jugding of the 24 tattoos was wild because there were SO MANY that were being called bad and ugly that i personally thought were excellent
especially seeing the tattoos of the girly haired judge.. His tattoos look terrible

The unfinished rose actually looked cool unfinished....like it was purposely making an artistic statement.
They were way too rude towards Pony. She didn't deserve that. She is too kind and her tattoo was beautiful, even unfinisehd.
Indeed the canvas was being a twat, obviously it hurts you idiot it’s a tattoo and she then complains about her bedside manner, what is she on about pony just wanted to get the tattoo done so she could give the ungrateful cow a beautiful tattoo, it’s not the artists job to baby you now she has a unfinished mess of a tattoo and she only has herself to blame, plus the judges just don’t care so…
I was actually sad for Pony
Especially the canvas. It was clear by the unfinished tattoos on the canvas’s arm that she couldn’t sit though a tattoo especially of that magnitude but instead blames Pony as a way out.

Pony: has the absolute BEST tattoo of the day even unfinished. Looks like a high definition photo.
Canvas: this hurts, your bedside manner sucks. I quit.
Judges: Yea that guy had blow outs, this ones lines look like the artist had parkinsons, and this color is more patchy than Kyle's wall after he went on a 5 day monster bender, but Pony's canvas left so even though it looks the absolute best by far shes going home

I'd rather have an unfinished tattoo that's applied beautifully than a shitty, complete one.
That woman can have Pony finish the tattoo.. But fixing a bad one? Much harder.
I think this video is a good example as to why they got a new set of judges, it’s obvious that Nuñez & Peck have favorite styles & don’t like certain styles in the slightest, like Nuñez & Peck love tattoos with outlines & very bright colors as opposed to work that’s more subtle & softer outlines
Pony's unfinished rose looks badass as is. Like, it looks like it was supposed to be that way. Id rock it. ( Im almost tempted to say the canvas went to the bathroom, saw it looked pretty good and was like yeah, eff that, im not sitting through the rest of this pain, ill take this as is and blame her. )
My son has a large birthmark on his back. I want to get his baby feet prints tattooed on my back in the same place. I would adore to have Pony do it!! The petals look so soft in her rose.
The judges blaming the artist for the canvases acting like they not getting free shit pisses me off... Cause it's YALL jobs as judges and host of the show to give the canvases guidelines to go by. Y'all intentionally don't to make the artists job harder but the fact of the matter if in the real world an artist has ABSOLUTE right to decline a client
Good lord the biases in this is bonkers why are tattoos not judged blind? This should have been from day one because believe you me there is biases, nunez doesn’t like certain styles and favour other artists
Because in this competition, in some cases, it's important to be able to judge an artist also by his previous work. To see if an artist is listening to the advice of the judges and becoming a better tattooër than before. Or even if someone has been doing excellent work and is just having one bad day. I do also see the biases in this particular season but blind judging? Is not a good idea imo.
I think that blind judging should be part of the show.Perhaps when an elimination day tattoo is up.😊

something just drives me crazy when the competitors shake their heads at what are obviously beautiful and near-flawless tattoos at the critique phase.

Ponis rose tatoo is kind of funny insofar as without the loose leaf you could probably have convinced me that it was a stylistic choice rather than it being unfinished.
As much as I love Jason and I respect him as a tattoo artist… but to this date , I think he was the worse pick to be ink master. That’s when cleen should’ve won.

Ponys canvas is driving me nuts. If you know you cant take pain well, you need to bring a distraction for yourself, like music to cover the sound of the machine. It is the artists job to tattoo and do good art. Not to take care of you like a nurse would and give you pain meds? Idk what shes on about with "bedside manor"
i feel like cam definitely should've went home there. every time i see that, i wonder why they ignored him completely ignoring the challenge. it's strange and holly deserved better

I agree! I understand it needs to be technical but most people will just see the tattoo and a glance and immediately recognize exactly what it is. I think it’s awesome!!!

I always loved Randy's clipper ship. I think its a beautiful tattoo and I'd honestly be happy to have it... and the rose on the girls shoulder was beautiful, and looks good the way it is, i think it looks artistic and intentional. And let me say the shoulder blade is one of the least painful places to get tattooed. So... not the artists fault.

Ponys canvas looks like all her other tats are just outlines or have very little color. Someone please point out if im wrong b/c i didnt see color but i only saw like 2 quick glimpses. They need to take into consideration shitty canvases such as this.

Maybe she meant Indians from india and thought indian=native American, since they are always referred to as Indians in the u.s. though apparently some tigers and unicorns appear on native american totems. Could be stories heard from Europeans. Maybe it just depends on where the tribe was located.

1:03 Ashley literally got lucky the first round and got comfortable being the first few to take a seat. Just one round later has a meltdown from the first hint of pressure. I get it's Rolwand she's talking to but no way should she be calling anyone else mediocre.

I love seeing how amazing some of the artistry is with these tattoos. But I also wish that the artists weren't asked to do so many things that would be unprofessional in an actual shop, like doing a 12 hour tattoo in one sitting. Or not giving the canvas a break when they're in serious pain. I don't think that really tests whether you're a great tattoo artist.

I don’t think I could tap out. It’s easy to say when not under the needle but still. How are you gunna get another artist to match the style. They also know the people are focused, it’s a competition. Don’t expect a ton of attention and babying
My leg tattoos have been painful as all hell, and on a couple of them I almost tapped out, but I was SO DETERMINED to get through the session, so I would be even more determined if I was on the show! I’m also such an apologiser as a client lmao, so I try my best to be as good as possible for them 😂 I’d be there with all the sugar & snacks, books and music to distract myself, ANYTHING!
Like I totally get that Inkmaster wants to portray that the artists are under that 6 hour time pressure which can make the artist a bit rougher maybe, but fuck I’d be trying even harder to make sure they could get through it.
Though season 10 was good … but what kills me , they made it way too obvious that Josh would win .
Personally I didn't really like Jasons bird tattoo at the beginning (7:17) and its crazy thats the one that sent him to the finale. I'm not sure who did the one that flashed on screen at 6:48 but that one looks a lot more solid. Jason's bird's beak/head looked amazing but its like he spent too much time on that and then sped up for the body. The green shading just ended up looking splotchy & the black tail feathers at the very don't look too good.
+ Holy shit I feel so bad for Matty getting stuck with that client wanting all the changes for the Venetian masks challenge. Doesn't the show vet the people coming on for tattoos? If you sign up you should understand that in some challenges the artist has full reign over your tattoo and you can't just make them change the subject or add random shit. If you do make them do that they're going to be criticized and judged for it.
I'd wear pony's tattoo with pride, the veins in the petals I think actually add artistic vision to the design and I prefer it over a finished rose

I don't think tribal tattoo is that easy. Roland is not a good tattoo artist, but what he does isn't easy too.

The judges would be all “your square is 1mm too long on the sides, it’s a rectangle. You’re eliminated” while someone else only did an outline of a square… the winner just did a dot and said “it’s a super tiny square”
i would LOVE to be a canvas. no crazy ideas from me, do what i normally do and go in and say, "Do what you do. Do what youre good at." Sit back, and enjoy the process.

I have zero pain tolerance and tattoos in multiple places and they don’t hurt that bad. People are melodramatic and it’s absurd they tap knowing they signed up & what’s in the line for the artist

I still am constantly gobsmacked by the entitled attitudes of quite a few canvases on Inkmaster in general. These idiots are getting a tattoo that would normally cost them quite a lot of money, but still have the nerve to dictate to an artist what THEY want without any compromising on their part. The artist is there to become Inkmaster champion and take home a large amount of money. Where do they get off, these entitled rude demanding people getting a quality tattoo for nothing but behaving as though they are someone special with their demands. Tip: Canvases, be grateful and open minded, that is what you are there for. You are NOT special so don’t make an arse of yourself by behaving like a spoilt brat, you just end up looking like a dick internationally and people remember your face. These artists all have talent and do something that I could never do, I cannot draw past the level of a 5yr old, and appreciate talent in everyone of these artists for what they do. Amazing to me!

These compilations would be a lot better if you’d show the other pieces of work too and not just the winning or losing piece. Give the viewers a chance to judge and compare.

For the sake of being clear with non designers. When they talk about outline, it is not the thickness but how clean is the line. When they speak about color saturation, they meant the density of the ink in the skin, not the brightness of the color.

I get so triggered when canvasses actually go against their artist even when they are sayingnits not going to do well or whennots not accurate. But its a comp and their reputation but its the clients skin. No they get paid to have these done they need to be nice and still and let the artist shine.
