We also have every door and window covered with our alarm, and I sleep with two shoulder rigs with dual drum-fed 50AE desert eagles. We have pit bulls with false teeth made out of rusty razors and 6 murder hornet nests that drop out of the ceiling as a smoke bomb goes off. We also have 12 rabid honey badgers, who were mistreated from their youth. We've also got twin toddlers (Mike and Tyson). Even the murder hornets run when Mike N Tyson comes running into the room!

another type from a former locksmith, there are digital garage door locks now that take an encrypted signal over the internet to unlock your door through your account with the manufacturing company, if it can't reach the internet it uses bluetooth which is also encrypted. You use it like you would any normal electric lock, download the app, login, and register the device, once done no one can use standard analog scanners to unlock your garage because they do not accept those signals.

His hook isn't close to long enough to reach from the outside. As a mechanic I could use a lock out kit in a a minute to pop the lock on the truck to get the clicker, but without the key the alarms still letting all the neighbors about it, same as you breaking the truck window
On the inside of a garage door there is a bar and a hole that goes to the track. If you take the bar and you pull it in to the track that locks the garage
I have a manual garage roller door. I use a key to open it. There is no remote open, nor a quick release. Sure, they could pick the wafer lock but at that point there's easier ways to break in.
1.) Detached garage, no auto opener and key locked bolt locks. 2.) Nothing valuable stored in garage other than our two cars. 3.) Door alarm in house for when any door, window, or garage opening is handled to alert those in house. Assuming the dogs don't alert with barking first. 4.) Have quick access to lethal measure for all else fail on a break in.
Locks are there to keep a honest man honest. I personally put a bolt in my clasp. You could get in, if you want to, however I don't live in the suburbs. My neighbors are looking for a fight. We work hard for what we got and treat thieves the same, regardless of whose home.
Motion sensor facing the garage door will take care of this. And yes, it does work. Your tech people will tell you they don't work that way well they are wrong.

Locally a couple of years ago, the thieves were watching people park their cars at the METRA commuter train station. After the people boarded the train most likely on their way to work at least 8 hours- the thieves would check out the abandoned vehicles to see if there were garage door openers in them. The next day they would discreetly follow home the commuters to see where they lived. They also checked out if anyone was usually home during the day or if there were nosey neighbors. They'd wait a couple of days, break into the vehicles parked at the METRA station and steal the garage door openers! They already knew where the owner lived so they'd pull into the driveway open the garage door and close the door behind them that way if any neighbor saw a strange vehicle they could see they used the garage and most likely knew the owners! They were burlarizing the houses with an instant invitation from the homeowners! Keep your garage opener out of sight in your vehicle!!

This is why lock your garage to house door too, ALWAYS. All doors that lead outside should be as reinforced as your front door (the inside door also for added protection).

It's super cold so a lot of the time people leave their cars unlocked and running in public. The button won't work from inside either if you lock it also I love how easy you think it is to pull the emergency release and you don't even show it it's a lot harder than you think and most criminals do it from the bottom with the wire hanger method. I would love someone to try this. My bedroom door is facing the garage door. I have 6 massive dogs two of which are guard dogs the rest are hunting dogs. The second anyone steps foot in my yard they all alert. So as long as you stay outside you'll be fine lol.
This is stupid but a serious issue is that if people disable their garage door quick release, they could be trapped inside in an emergency like a fire. That is what the release is for.
I would think that hook would have to be a lot longer and bent to reach the release from the outside. And even if you managed to snag it, your ass would be sitting on the ground bleeding to death because all the racket you were making alerted me to get my gun and shoot you.
I’ve seen other videos where the person took a hook and found the hanging rope an pulled it down unlocking the door from the outside. I now have a cylinder around my string so it’s hard to grab onto but the zip tie I’ll do today which locks the release in place … just remember in an emergency like if your power goes out ..that you have to cut the zip tie.
