I spent hours using a single-disc EDCO grinder with a diamond wheel. These would have made the glue removal quicker before going back and grinding the floor. They are an accessory called Magna-Trap Strip-Sert.
EDCO makes great machines. I used to rent one but idiots kept breaking it.. so I bought a cutter for my buffer.. definitely not as good as the EDCO though.
I use it just for the glue removal. You can get different bits to grind the concrete. You have to create a physical bond for the epoxy to never pop off.
Do you have to have a strong arm to control the machine so that it doesn't get away from you? I just rented a single head one and it just flung all over the place put a hole in the wall and almost cut my toe off😢
Not a nice job even with big sanding discs on Thow a hover attachment would be even better on this machine would make the job more pleasant too work in instead off kicking up dust in the air
Nice machine. Thanks for the tip.
Awesome, just what I needed

Yup that’s what we used also. However those don’t always work. They certainly do not work on black mastic.
Glad our EDCO Dual-Disc Floor Grinder helped get the job done and fast, this is a great video. Thanks for posting this! #EDCO

Would this machine also be appropriate for prepping the floor for epoxy?

What is the machine called if I need to call up and hire one from a shop?
Concrete grinder. Sorry for the late reply.

No
It seems like glue has completely dried up. Will this machine work on glue in its sticky stage? I’m concerned with it clogging up the blades
You may have to use different bits. Even then they do need cleaned from time to time. I will see it I can get a pic for you of the ones you need.
Will it work on tacky pressure sensitive glue I got 22000 sq ft to get up
Yes it will. Sometimes you have to actually grind the concrete. It really depend on what you are installing over it.

@@wickedwonderingdream yeah it depends on what you're installing over it. Sometimes you can get away with just skim coating over it with ardex.
I got a job coming up concrete with adhesive had carpet
Is there another way to remove adhesive without these fancy tools?
You can use chemicals, but it is very messy. Plus it cost a lot of money to use that method.
@@topfloors thanks
Is that sticky/tacky glue? Mine is!
Yes
