I have the problem of water getting into my garage every time it rains and cold air coming in all winter. So I searched you tube and your video was the easiest for me to understand, a DIY er, who does a lot of my own repairs. Never knew there was a seal for the floor. With winter coming, I can now insulate properly now. Very helpful video.
Thanks. Will definitely try some of these tips!
Great video, thank you so much! I just bought a new place and my garage door leaks rainwater at the bottom, so this shows me everything I need to look at doing to correct it. Thanks again!

Great reminder on using the lift master up/down buttons
He makes it look so easy ❤
Good information, didn't know it is that easy to fix it
Would be interested in a follow-up video to check on how threshold is sticking and its condition after it has been installed for several months and has been exposed to traffic and weather.

u can use painters tape to mark the placement of the seal so it can be removed without marking the floor
I don’t have the problem in the video but I know that one day I or someone I know may have will need it. Thank you for the turorial💯👍
Great video I’m gonna buy me a new seal
Thank you so much! Glad I could be of help! 👍🏽😊🙏🏽
Simple rebate in slab when it is poured and drive poured up to bottom of rebate.
Been having this problem since the house was built 10 yesrs ago.
Wind 90% of the time blows towards the doors. And this includes rains.
I have done the 1st 2you showed and have bern considering the 3rx one.
Thanx for the video
What about one that seals except for about 10" where the concrete is a bit low? Thank you for the videos
Great, my bottom of garage door piece is in need of replacement. In the south we have to contend with snakes. Last year one visited the screened in porch via under door gap, replaced that after brooming snake out to patio. Thanks your presentations are very easy to copy.
YIKES!!! Glad you fixed!!
Somehow it took this video for me to realize my garage doesn’t have side seals!! That’s definitely my issue and I didn’t even know they were missing haha!
My garage has been leaking badly for years. We're going to replace the sealer but our garage door has some kind of bottom bracket thing we may have to take off first, so in the meantime, I'm going to try the sealer on the floor--I'm super hopeful about that, because we think the main issue is gaps where the weather seal is falling apart. Thank you for this video! (Also I'm excited about the brush attachments for the drill for several other projects!)
Like video very helpful
I’m glad I could be of help!
I was wondering how to put the seal on the floor. Thank you.
Awsome
I hope these tips keep the water from pouring into my garage doorway. 👍🏽🤠 05/08/24
Don't replace that bottom seal, find an old garden hose and cut to garage door length (without the nozzle ends) and thread it into the that flattened hollow seal to regain the bottom flexibility!
Great idea
Tried that great idea but my floor is not level. It’s a 43 year old house.
@@rustyboyer7311same here. Did you find a solution?
Actually that's a better idea to find an old hose. So you keep the seal and you put it old hose in there. Life, wise, and that would be a better seal for everything. Good idea thank you very much
I thought of that too,lol.
Great video I have a gap on the side of my garage door and lots of air come through
Will that affect the garage sensor? Cuz my garage door seem too sensitive and won’t close or open the garage 😂hope to hear more of your suggestion for this specific concern. Thank you!
Thanks for all the helpful information but I have run into a problem. Come to find out by doing a water test on the garage door that concrete is not level on some areas. So I’m still getting in water. If there would happen to be another solution?
Great video showing various options. I’m having water issues due to a negative grade from street down drive to garage door. Looking for options. Thanks for the insight!
I wonder if it be best to not leave any threshold in the roller channel, especially if you have the stock squishy seal as it might bend the rollers rod.
Is there any type of soft overlap flap or such that you can use for the garage door cracks between the panels?
Also, do you have any idea how to replace one of the windows in the door with a window that either slides open or opens out for fresh air or to use for the exhaust hose of a portable AC unit?
Soaking the bottom seal in warm soapy water helps on the install.
I have found that the fiberglass side molding (where the nails are) severely and permanently warps due to sunshine.
Do you need to add any caulking to the edge of the seal that is on the concrete?
Kool
Hi ii enjoy ur videos
Can you do a video in a wall that get wet and got molded n needs to be replaced can you you a video on it please
We appreciated .
Take care God Bless you n you family.
Sooo. The blue knobs he suggested to turn in the back of that motor are the force knobs not the limits to adjust the height so don't adjust those and think it will work. Second. There was nothing wrong with his seal. They come loose like that. You can feed an old garden hose through it to help that out. Third, don't put white lithium grease anywhere on your garage door. It leaves a mess and attracts dirt and dust to it. Wd-40 is prefect. Bad information in this video but the threshold at the end does work so.. good for that.
When you use the seal that you glue to the concrete, does the garage door bottom seal have to be removed?
The higher side sit behind the garage door while the lower is facing foward correct?
Great Video, but we have A new extended garage door the water comes through during heavy rains, we had the installers out ,they said it’s the way the concrete is moving the water, but it comes under the door, the other door is fine ,can’t get much help from the contractor as well. Frustrating. Thanks for your video. I subscribed. ❤
So will this stop rain water is when its driven by wind? I never get rain water, unless I get a wind blowing against my garage doors, so its driven under the seal. Seals are good and dont need replaced, and the concrete is smooth
I have a wooden garage door and bubble wrap under the seal in one spot stops the water from entering
What would you do when there is a 3” gap on one side of the garage door? The slab the garage was built on sloped away from the house and wasn’t adjusted before the garage was built. 😢
The side of my garage floors are cracked and kinda sunken any tips to fit this?
I find there is a gap at each end of the garage door and dust can blow in not to mention those big cockroaches that live outside . I live in queensland australia. What is the name of the product to seal tge sides
Part of the issue with these rubber thresholds is the inability to mould to the contour of the surface that its closing against more then likely concrete and it’s changing dynamics
The tube in the center of mine collapsed in a few places how could that be fixed
Some doors have a flat bottom with no slot. I think they take a nail on seal. Have you ever come across this situation?
What type of weather stripping is good for the sides of the garage door?
Please stay tuned David! I will make a video specifically on this 👍🏽😊🙏🏽
@@FixThisHouse Please make this video i need to know
The garage floor seal… would it be possible too roll a table saw over it???
Yes, just be very careful and take it over slowly and deliberately. 👍🏽😊
I should have watched this video years ago!
I’m glad you found my video! Thank you for watching! 🙏🏽😊
@@FixThisHouse I have some questions. I have an existing floor threshold seal from my previous garage door which was the flip up kind. I now have a garage door just like yours but it lands a bit more forward so the seal is too far back to be useful. (1) How can I remove the seal? It's stuck on there pretty good, as it should be. (2) Do you think I might be able to save it and re-glue it in place like you did in this video or I'll probably destroy it in the process? (3) If you think it can't be reused, would you remove it and then get a new seal or just leave it alone and add the new seal? Thanks for your advice!
Any follow up?
What do I do if the bottom of the garage door is flat ?
How do you fix a garage door that moves side to side?
In your video you show your Seal and say it is 20 feet long , You also show the Threshold as being 20 feet long. Then you leave links where to get them at Amazon, But your links are for 10 feet . I can see many people ordering the wrong size. can you correct your links.
The picture he showed is the force levels, not the travel adjustment
❌ WRONG !!!
1️⃣ Your wasting time and money installing a threshold.
2️⃣ can’t sweep and hose out garage.
3️⃣ people will trip over it
✅ CORRECT WAY: almost all garage door seals are round and hallow. If your seal goes flat or is unevenly sealing to concrete and has gaps and you want to increase threshold… Take and cut large diameter garden hose and feed it inside the hallow seal and trim edges. You can also purchase a hose 1/4” diameter smaller then the seal for even tighter fit. Now your door has a better even seal 👍🏻
