Might have to try this out. The top of our driveway slants down from the street towards our garage, so any heavy rain naturally funnels down towards there. We've been using those Quick Dam flood barriers as a deterrent, but this might be a better long-term solution.
I don’t mean to sound rude, but a better solution is a trench drain if you are getting large amounts of water in your garage. If it’s getting into your garage there’s a high chance it is or will will eventually also get into your foundation. Trench drain’s aren’t cheap but they are necessary if your driveway is sloped towards your garage
Hey, a trench drain is a great idea, especially if you have a really large volume of water! They can get clogged with leaves and dirt, so one of our thresholds can still be installed as well to give you extra piece of mind to make sure the water still stays out, even if the drain's not functioning :)
@@Garadrygaragedoorseals I would also recommend a threshold as well in case of any water running over the drain in a heavy down pour (just did this for a client, came back and added threshold after still getting small amounts of water in garage after trench drain installation. Threshold is now in and redirects water back to drain so no water ever since :)
We have a neighbor that just purchased the ‘model’ home next door. He gets water intrusion and I believe this might help him out. Sending this video for his view and a possible answer to the problem.
I installed this it stops the water leaking under the door creating a pond in my garage. The root cause the sill o under the garage door was not pitch. this creates a mini dam as rain water hits the sill or door…PROBLEM corrected..
Towels, dry vac, a drain perhaps. Or just install a diving board. (Depends on the depth of the pool. 😮). The point here is I believe to prevent water from entering. It’s not all inclusive but will add to the prevention of storm type of wind driven flood to a certain degree.
A “pro” on the way coast would charge a couple hours work, even tho its a sinmple install it still takes time. Expect to pay $125-275 per hour depending on your location.
One question.. I enter the garage with snow on the wheels.. the garage has no drain so the snow melts and creates a puddle.. can I sweep the water out with this installed?
Hi there, it really depends on the weight on the tractor. Usually for larger, heavier vehicles like this we would recommend our aluminum thresholds which have been specifically designed for this purpose: us.garadry.com/collections/commercial-threshold-seals
I have installed it. Of course, the installation was not as clean as this video. Now my concern is all the ice wil melt and make a puddle when i park my car in the garage and it will be a challange to push the water out with a squeezee. If I regret, how do I remove construction glue from concreate clean?
Hello, our installation guide is designed to provide customers with a clear and thorough understanding, minimizing the chance of errors. We acknowledge that removing the threshold may leave a mark from the adhesive, but this highlights the exceptional strength and reliability of the adhesive. Let us know if we can help you further!
The product is supplied with high-density, waterproof foam blocks that can be inserted in the gaps between the tracks and the wall to prevent water ingress.
Hi there - yes our products can be used to prevent rodents, reptiles, and other unwanted guests from making their way into your garage underneath the door.
If installed on the outside of the door, water could run down the face of the door and collect in-between the door and the threshold. This water would just run into the garage when the door is opened.
If contractors would just use their heads when pouring the garage floor. The floor should be 1 to 2 inch ABOVE the outside drive way into the garage. This rise should extend the entire width of the garage and garage door. Our "new to us" house, the floor is at grade with the drive, so I have this issue. I did buy one of these strips from a competitor and it helps, but it's not tall enough, so I'll have to buy from THIS company instead.

@@ThedarrkknihhhtI have a French drain and it still doesn’t stop 100% of the water and other crap from coming in. A barrier seems like a good addition

How do i get rid of the water and snow inside the garage once I place this on?

Drink with a straw?
Get on your knees and pray for it to be gone? Seriously, what kind of a dumba** question is that?
Can I install this with a garage door bottom seal already installed??🤔
Hi, yes you can use install a threshold seal in conjunction with a bottom seal on the door itself.
How much should we charge for installation ? Let's say for an average 10ft door?

Yes, you should be able to sweep the majority of this water out of the garage.

Whats the best adhesive to use?
We would always recommend to use our GaraDry adhesive which is supplied with our products.
Would this withstand the weight of my farm tractor with chains that I bring into my garage?

What about the corners though? You can clearly see daylight coming through the corners in the video and that’s where the water will enter as well

Why not install this on the outside of the door so that water doesn't collect between the seal and the outside of the door. ?

What happens when you want to wash/hose down your garage floor? Being serious here.
Good question

Hello! If you want to hose the garage down we recommend using a squeegee to soak the water up. :) I hope this helps
Just fitted this and already I don’t have any water gaining entry👌
We're glad you love the product Mark! Were the installation instructions easy to follow?

Has it rained ?
How durable is it to being run over by cars.
All of our products can be safely driven over in most standard, domestic vehicles.

Exactly…just had a new garage built with NO SLOPE…I had contractor purchase this…and install for free…Unbelievable
Try moving an engine stand with a 700lb motor on it into a garage with a step of 1-2" at the threshold..i'll wait.
