Did you fix your garage using this method? What'd you think? Let us know!
Thanks for the tip
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Quick bandaid fix for DIY
Panels are still sagging lol
This will last for a little bit but when the panels continue to weaken from cracks you’ll be in the same spot.
Putting on a real garage door strut bar across the full length of the door would fix this. And you only need one. Install it on the top of each panel connected to the hinge
Thanks for the heads up. can you share a link for the full length strut? -(asking for a friend?)😛
@@RuslanVideoFilmsgo to google type in “garage door strut bar” Presto, of course Amazon has them
I often hear about weight issues being added when installing the crossbars, and the spring playing a factor in possibly being replaced to compensate for the weight - did you have to adjust the spring tension or find anything wrong with keeping the same spring installed?
these bars don’t make a tangible weight difference because they are so light and the door is so heavy relative to them
Thank you - stopped by my ace hardware to pick up the angle bar ($30), and took 20 minutes
Hello can you send me a link for the cross bar? Im having the same problem and I dont know which one to buy. Thank you in Advance!

^ Can play around with the thickness!
one shouldn't use punch angle strips to fix a sagging garage door. Use the proper kit that spans the entire length of the garage door.
The punch angle L brackets like the owner in this video used above will wear out and bend. search "Heavy Duty Garage Door Support Reinforcement Strut Kit" and you will see the proper u shaped strut support to fix sagging door panels.
This fix has been successfully working on grandma’s garage door for the better part of two years. If the metal is thick enough it will wear out long after the rest of the garage door. At a fraction of the cost of a kit
You're putting too much pressure to the Opener by letting the door open way too far. that's why you damaged the door.
That is a very helpful insight, thank you. I’m going to look into whether the height is something one can regulate.
@murd777, isn't the door supposed to be fully opened? What do you mean "put too much pressure" and "open way too far"? My door is always pushed to the full top by the cable. Maybe the spring is too tight?
You are full of sh*t! The door sagged because it was made cheaply using thin metal sheets. It has nothing to do with the opener. I am a handyman by profession and fix this problem often using the same angle irons.
