My a6700 paired with the Sigma 18-50 and 10-18 is nearly perfect for everyday photography. And a pretty good starting point for sports or wildlife when paired with a telephoto zoom.
Bought the A6700 to be my compact travel camera. Paired with the Sony 10-20 and 18-135 lenses and a Godox TT350S, it is all I need for any travel photowork and it fits in a pretty small bag that fits in my backpack.

Great video! My primary cameras (besides my iphone) are the RX-100iiv and A7rIV. I started with an a6400 and have always loved that form factor. Hi Jason! Can you pretty please make a video on your work process using LUTs for images? And if you could share your favorite LUTs that would be awesome!
I changed to the Sony eco system years ago for the stabilization and focus when I developed essential tremors in my hand. First the A6000 then A6500 and now the A6700. It really works well for me. I just got the Sigma 18-50 and have the 16 & 30 1.4 Sigma primes. I also have the Tamron 11-20 F2.8 for interiors / landscape and their 28-75 for a little reach. I thought about 28-200 but I could only use it on a tripod with my tremors. I do have overlapping lenses but don't want to part with any right now. I kept the 6500 for when I want to use 2 lenses at a time. Also have a ZV1 which is so compact and great for travel. 😁😁 I don't know if I should be thanking Sony, Sigma & Tamron or if they should be thanking me.
In the past I thought you were a bit cringe BUT I eat ALL of my words...your videos have become so much better as far as content and production quality is concerned. Plus, you've gotten quite funny and your better half is too. Way to go, champ (not that you needed my 2 cents at all...) and THANK YOU for another great video (under 10 minutes YAY) about a camera I have been meaning to buy for a long time. I'll most likely pair with the Sigma 23mm f1.4 - i own the A6500 with the Sigma 16 and 30 mm and that combo has served mne extremely well over the last 6 years.
thank thank and thank for coming across your YT channel. Now subscribed. I recently bought a6700 with kit lens and have been searching and reading a lot about lens, filters, tripods etc. This video surely helps a lot, thank you for making this one and I look forward to next videos on a6700.

I have this same setup, along with the Sigma 10-18mm. What good things can I say about this camera that hasn’t been said before? It’s an absolute dream. Great video, my man. 🍻
I can't wait to get my hands on this camera! Probably towards the end of the month. I currently have the a6000 with the SIgma 18-50mm. Soon looking into a Sirui lens as well as a wide zoom lens!
Love my 6700, just used it in Alaska. So fast on focus, could just walk along and snap photos. Question, I saw someone there that sure looked like you, was I right?
I got the Sony 2.8/16-55 G on my a6700 and I'm loving my kit! I was lucky to buy it 2nd hand for half the price. It's a bit of a chonk, but I don't mind and my gimbal (M3) can take it. Overall very happy with the setup
Crazy I literally just bought this exact set up yesterday. I sold all my fuji gear and full switched to SONY to utilize their toptier video features (til I get another fuji Camera solely for photos). Im kind of lost when it comes to its menu & systems so hopefully it doesnt take me forever to get used to this new one.
Hi this video is amazing. Just what I needed for my filmmaking journey. I have added all to my wishlist. Please can you do another version for light? "The ONLY LIGHTS you will ever need..."
Had this camera and lens, absolutely loved this camera and lens. Butttttt I wish it had 2 SD card slots. Haven't had one fail on me, but would really not want to experience the day when it finally does
I have this camera and it is absolutely amazing it's enjoyable to use I'm pairing it with the Sigma 56 mm prime which is absolutely ridiculously sharp The autofocus is the same as my A7 RV and if I don't have a need for full frame which this is 26 megapixel it's excellent absolutely wonderful
Thanks for another useful video. Own several cameras including the A6700 and A7CII. Trying to keep my travel bags light. Did go out on a limb and by both the TTArtisan 27/1.8 for its super small size and the Viltox 27/1.2 for its great optical quality in APS-C. Do wish Sony would do a modern updated pancake lens targeted at 28mm full frame focal length for both APS-C and Full Frame. Take care.
Thank you for making this video I'm literally about to upgrade to from Sony A6100 to Sony A6700, I already have a Sigma 16mm F1.4, Sony 50mm F1.8, Sigma 18-50 F2.8 I am all set, just waiting to get a good deal in used market
i agree to you only some points ..especially the price of the body ..but the sony a7cii is the compact camera to have for the form factor i would prefer it over the a7iv both are clearly the same with a7cii being a tad bit better with improved processor specs for dedicated tracking of trains , cars , animals etc...hope the next iteration of a7v bring in a stacked sensor for faster readout same will come to the sony a7ciii .....nice to see.....👍
I own both A6700 & FX30, and have zero complaints. However I wish Sony would update their APSC lens lineup 18-105 f4.0 OSS with a little bit of macro capability would be nice.
Always thought the $1200-$1400 bodies were the sweet spot of most lineups and A6700 does not disappoint. I still wish it had the option for a vertical grip as I'm a mad man and use my 6700 with the Sony 200-600 lens for wildlife
i start photograph with apcs camera , nex 5 then 6400 and now a7cii , i was going to buy a6700 but then after rethinking I decide that I'm ready to upgrade to full frame senor and get benefit from it in low light situation
Great job on the video Jason! Thanks for making it. I love my a6700. I've been testing the Sirui Sniper lenses on it and my fx30, but that Sigma is definitely on my list.
I really wish Sony would build a full size version of this camera. Think A7 size but crop sensor. I think they'd sell the hell outta those. The full frame financial investment is so huge; lots of people would want a pro grade camera that is compatible with the crop sensor lenses that are available for E mount. Kinda like Fuji, except with better autofocus. lol
Love the newest 6700 have even used it for some photo shoots. Question: Have a Sigma 56 1.4 and really love that lens for portrait shots. Would the 18-50 feel like I would be overlapping lenses?
Really it depends if you want portability or not. If yes, go with the 18-50 as it’s lightweight & small…but if you want that extra reach and don’t mind carrying around a bigger lens, I say the 17-70. I was debating between the two and I have the 18 to 50 for my Fujixs20 and I like it, but for the stuff that I do like shooting Weddings and some sports the 17- 70 was just a little bit better for me!
My biggest problem with the Tamron 17-70 that I heavent seen in reviews is that dust gets inside of it really fast. I had dust in it after 1 month and after 6 months I can see a lot of particles on my photos. It starting to get unusable for videos. Even if I take care of it and watch out for it during shooting, dust just still gets inside. Also there is a weird vignetting effect in the corners at 50-70mm at wider apaertures that Lightroom just cant remove. Even the built in profile correction in my a6400 cant remove it, only Capture One was able to deal with it really well. The vignetting effect is a bigger problem on brigth or plain images like walls or sky, but its not noticable on busy pictures or darkers shots. Its th worse at 70mm at f2.8 and gets better at F5.6 or lower focal range. In my case dust screws this lens up quite fast and makles it really bad for long term use and for video work.
I traded in my 6500 for the 6700 model as soon as it came out. Not much difference in picture quality but the AI autofocus is magic. The 6500 is still very capable, so enjoy what you already have unless you have cash to spare.
would be cool to do a video production tutorial with this camera and the other current Sony bodies, from the gumball, audio capture, use in the field to post production, and voice over in the studio ;)

Without question, pretty much every camera that is out today is the only camera you will ever need. :-) pick a color, pick a style, pick a price, no matter what, learn how to be a photographer or filmmaker and you'll be covered quite well.
Thanks Jason. I've wanted to upgrade from the sony A6000 to something new without having to break the bank. I value your opinion. Thanks again BOO
2:00 Who is that? 😂
I've had the a6400, and the a6600 before upgrading to a6700 and the difference is insane. Totally worth the upgrade.
You mean for video mainly right?
Love my 6700 with sigma 18-50 2.8. And also my 27 and 75 mm 1.2 mm viltrox
Hi this video is amazing. Just what I needed for my filmmaking journey. I have added all to my wishlist. Please can you do another version for light? "The ONLY LIGHTS you will ever need..."
Make a video on a full frame hybrid camera❤
I have the sigma 18-50 and Viltrox 75mm 1.2 and holy moly I love this camera
I think to buy this camera in future .
Why is the video so perfect??
I'm still with the a6300 paired with the sigma 18-50 2.8
Had this camera and lens, absolutely loved this camera and lens. Butttttt I wish it had 2 SD card slots. Haven't had one fail on me, but would really not want to experience the day when it finally does
1:10
Siuri sniper 23mm f1.2 is also a very GOOD alternative for cheaper
I hv one, yeah its perfect in every sense
I have this camera and it is absolutely amazing it's enjoyable to use I'm pairing it with the Sigma 56 mm prime which is absolutely ridiculously sharp The autofocus is the same as my A7 RV and if I don't have a need for full frame which this is 26 megapixel it's excellent absolutely wonderful
Team Sony a6700 Sigma 18-50 here 🫡
Team Sigma 18-50 who sold A6700 coz of garbage screens.
@@m4rcin847 you can always put an external monitor?
same here 🎉
Thanks for another useful video. Take care.
Thank you for making this video
I'm literally about to upgrade to from Sony A6100 to Sony A6700,
I already have a Sigma 16mm F1.4, Sony 50mm F1.8, Sigma 18-50 F2.8
I am all set, just waiting to get a good deal in used market
How about the sigma 28-70mm contemporary? If you are running a full-frame?
Love my A6700 and my sony 18-135, sigma 56mm and my everyday lens Ttartisan 25mm f2
What I love about sony’s crop camaras are the lenses.
i agree to you only some points ..especially the price of the body ..but the sony a7cii is the compact camera to have for the form factor i would prefer it over the a7iv both are clearly the same with a7cii being a tad bit better with improved processor specs for dedicated tracking of trains , cars , animals etc...hope the next iteration of a7v bring in a stacked sensor for faster readout same will come to the sony a7ciii .....nice to see.....👍
I love my a6400 , probably if I would replace it , a6700 is a target ❤
What camera bag do you recommend?
I own both A6700 & FX30, and have zero complaints. However I wish Sony would update their APSC lens lineup
18-105 f4.0 OSS with a little bit of macro capability would be nice.
Always thought the $1200-$1400 bodies were the sweet spot of most lineups and A6700 does not disappoint. I still wish it had the option for a vertical grip as I'm a mad man and use my 6700 with the Sony 200-600 lens for wildlife
picture profile should be a thing of the past. Every MFG should allow importing custom LUTS to use for both photo and video. Like Lumix does
Iddkkkkk. That Panasonic S5llX is prettiiiii lovely, ma boi!!
love the content ! mind if i ask what lens used in 0:13 ?
how about RX100VA?
i start photograph with apcs camera , nex 5 then 6400 and now a7cii , i was going to buy a6700 but then after rethinking I decide that I'm ready to upgrade to full frame senor and get benefit from it in low light situation
Great job on the video Jason! Thanks for making it. I love my a6700. I've been testing the Sirui Sniper lenses on it and my fx30, but that Sigma is definitely on my list.
been seeing a lot about Sirui APSC in the comments, I might have to check it out!
I been debating on this camera and the ZV E1 for my vlogging channel is it good for vlogging?
Indeed fire combos but I paired 18-50mm 2.8 with a6600. And been looking for 23mm 1.4 for a while, waiting for salary.
Great Video!
I wish the a6700 was around when I brought my a6400 but I’ll keep the a6400 as I have not used it to its full potential.
Hi, wich Fullframe lens is the best for this Camera, nice Video
Would you recommend the tamron 17-70 over the sigma 18-50?
I have an a7riii with a bunch of GM lenses. I also bought an a6700. I use the a6700 most of the time.
Nice! What about the a6700 that's making you use it more over the a7R III?
6:00 wait - WHERE did you get the battery grip??
SHHHHHH IVE BEEN TRYING TO GATEKEEP THIS LOADOUT 🤧
very useful
Well, I still have my A6500 and it is a good one. I match it with Sony 16-70mm or 18-135mm, the results are quite good.
I traded in my 6500 for the 6700 model as soon as it came out. Not much difference in picture quality but the AI autofocus is magic. The 6500 is still very capable, so enjoy what you already have unless you have cash to spare.
Please can you make a comparison with the Sony Zve10 II ????
would be cool to do a video production tutorial with this camera and the other current Sony bodies, from the gumball, audio capture, use in the field to post production, and voice over in the studio ;)
