Thank you so much for making this!!! I was dragging the step sequencer loops to the very bottom and making an instrument track out of them - and for some reason... they kept loading in at twice the tempo. 🤷🏻♂️ But thanks to your video I learned to drag those types of loops to an audio track. Still need to find out why the step sequencer loops kept loading in double time....

I’d been using the ADSR Sample Library manager because it “seemed” to handle more loop formats. I’m leaning back to Logic’s management tools because loop libraries that don’t conform to Apple’s standards really aren’t that useful. Also, I can always access those loops directly in their file location and if I use them more than once, convert them and add the meta tags.

Have you noticed the instruments listed as “legacy” in the Apple loops library? Like anbasic, answirl, piano, and other classy names.
They sound remarkably good for something they hide away in the dark recesses of the loop library.
Where do they come from and how old are they? I was an old 4.7 Logic user on windows and I don’t remember seeing them.
Love your skill and advice, Chris. I like Apple Loops in Logic, but recently bought XO by XLM for drum samples. XO doesn't read the Apple caf format, so now I'm considering converting Apple Loops to another format. I'm worried about losing the tempo and key adjust-abilities and I'm not interested in spending $69 for ACID Studio tools. There is a caf converter for $4.99 by "Audio Helper Project". Do you have any experience with this?

My favorite thing is to put loops with (supposedly) very different genres together. It makes for some very happy accidents.

I added an Instrument MIDI Region to my Loop Library. File>Export> Region/Cell to Loop Library. I renamed the Name to: Driving BasslineAB but it got created as: Inst 2*created. Is this a bug? Version 10.6.1
Apple Loops stopped working for me in recent years. They won't play while season is running, only when i've stopped. So, i now use the ADSR sample manager which works pretty well.
that sounds really strange. never in my years have I seen this happen. have you tried to reinstall logic?

OK, and now the batch converter like the old Apple Loops Utility. One by one will take 24 years to convert my 20.000 .wav loops into apple loops
I absolutely cannot find how to edit and delete existing custom Apple loops. Would you know how to do that?
I figured it out actually:
• You can remove custom loops by deleting them from 'Users/yourUser'sName/Library/Audio/Apple Loops/User Loops/SingleFiles'.
• It also works to rename them there, & then re-index Apple loops to reflect the change.
• I believe it you want to change metadata however, you will have to re-add them from scratch.

HELP! When i drag a midiloop into my project it looses it’s effects like reverb and stuff, its dry and raw. WHY??

Amazing... To think in 1990 I took a loan that could of bought a car , and All I got was a Sampler and Atari.......Such a great time for people to access their creativity......
Though for me personally.. (Yep, here it comes) I prefer to play and record my own performances...... (though disclaimer... Yes I use loops...But as some icing... ) .. And though not particularly great at playing Guitar, bass, keyboards , and Keyboard drumming (FTW), I feel more accomplished by doing it... A jack of all , Master of none... I guess Im a snob.. The way I prefer it...
Still , a little trick is to drop an instrument performance onto a Instrument track , because a lot of times ive found a great instrument channel strip thats not in the standard channel strip library...
TLDR?
Im a snob...
