- This video is a comprehensive guide to importing external or outside loops into Logic's Loop Browser and Loop Library. In this video I demonstrate several methods to import loops as TAGGED or UNTAGGED loops. I also demonstrates how to import sample libraries, and how to import multiple tagged loops at once. Enjoy!

If all of your samples are on an external HD and you want them in Untagged Loops without taking up double the disk space, you can just make an Alias folder in the Untagged Loops section and it will mirror your sample library
Love the idea of consolidating 3rd Party Loops & Sample Packs to Logic's Loop Browser/Loop Library. Tried it out and realized that this must be for the current versions of Logic Pro X - so I can't take advantage of this tip at the moment.
That said, when I'm able to update my version from 10.5 I will certainly remember to give this a go.
Thanks for sharing your expertise - appreciated here!
OMG.. i have owned logic pro since system 9.. you have opened my eyes... thank you! I never knew about the Play in Song Key, or Auto leveling.. who knew.. I do now, thanks to you! Great tutorial!
You definitely deserve more than this, but here's a small token. Happy New Years!
A perfect explanation! Just the info I was looking for, thank you! 👍
That may have been one of the best tutorials that I have ever seen!
Never ending awesome tutorials!
Some really great tips that I was totally not expecting!!!
Another spot on simple explanation of Loops…I can now safely import those drum libraries! JPMusic
I really need to start building my loop collection...
Another excellent video.
Dope fam! Thanks🤘🏾👊🏾
Thank you so much, I'm saying this not just for this video but I see this a lot, 5k views and only 268 likes, at the time I view this, this people go thru a lot for you people.
19:28 The sped up version sounded cool!
Hi, great video as always!
I find it really difficult to work with Logic when it comes to previewing sounds because the browser has the problem that it doesn't play the sound immediately but waits for the bar to play.
I don't know if anyone has found a method, but I've seen lots of professionals who use third-party plugins for drums because there's no quick way to listen to the sounds.
I don't know if anyone has managed to find a solution, programs like Ableton and Fl studio are much more immediate from this point of view.
And preparing sound banks is really a waste of time in my opinion given the constant updating and buying sounds.
Thanks and keep it up, I watch every video!
Thank you for the great Video. Is there no way to pre-convert the loops using an audio WAV to Apple Loops converter? Loading individual loops into the project one by one can take hours; is there no faster alternative?
Is it possible to create apple loops that have those arrows where you can select alternates for each loop. I see this in stock Apple loops, but haven't figured out how to create those. It would be very handy to be able to have a drum beat with several alternates without having to have multiple separate loops and example of what I'm talking about is the 12 String Dream Loop if you drag anyone of the multiple versions, it groups them into a Family and you can select it right from the region.
First of all, I would like to thank you for creating a very useful content!
But I have a question: I followed your instructions created loops. Everything works great, but what if I want to delete a loop or change some info inside the loop where I might’ve made a mistake like key or tempo.
If you make a mistake, your best bet is just to delete the loop and then re-add it. For tagged Apple Loops you can find them like this: click the "Go" menu at the top of the main MacOS toolbar at the top. Press "option" to show the hidden "Library" location. From there, navigate to: Audio > Apple Loops > User Loops > SingleFiles. You can delete the tagged loops you've added there. For untagged loops, you can just right-click/control-click on them and remove them from the library.
Thanks Bro @@MusicTechHelpGuy
Thank you but for trying to help, but I still can't figure out how to do this...
@@MusicTechHelpGuy
Never mind, I figured it out!
Thanks again!!!
Is there a way to sync the tagged loops to Logic Pro on an iPad?
I want to add folder
Is there a way to view Apple Loops and untagged loops in the same window? I have way too many loops to batch import by tempo or key (even though that would be great to filter more easily in the future). But I when I search for sounds I sort my loops library by clicking the heart symbol, and I'm afraid I'll forget all of the options having to click between Apple Loops and untagged loops.
Hey man I’ve been trying to wrap my head over this but still haven’t found a solution. So I use untagged loops a lot on my Mac on my cracked Logic Pro X and I download the ZIP files from external parties. Whenever I download it, I’m required to keep the folder on my desktop and it makes my desktop screen saver very messy, whenever I try and put all my sample packs in one single folder, I can’t open the untagged loops. Any idea on how I can solve that?
Please tell how and where we find these "my loop" section in Macintosh Drive For Copy or backup my coustom loops Like Apple Loops Are Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Apple Loops.
Please Reply 🙏
Thanks @MusicTechHelpGuy Got the answer in your Reply To other.😍
Please, I can not hear my loops on the loop browser... what do I need to do to make it work? Please I need help!
is there any way to make oneshots play like in Ableton, FL studio? not being able to listen to the project and the sample at the same time is annoying.. where in other DAWs it works perfectly
You mean you select a sample and it plays a four on the floor pattern with it? at 12:48 I show how to import a sample library of one-shots, but because there is no MIDI audition feature in Logic, you can only click on them and audition them, but you'll just hear the sample playback once, until you click on it again. It doesn't automatically put them in a pattern.
@@MusicTechHelpGuy probably the point is that in logic it is impossible to simultaneously listen to the project after turning on play and listen and select individual samples as in ableton or fl studio .... so many years and apple did nothing about it ...
ok cool, but what about one shot samples?
Check out 12:48.
What the name of that sample your using lol
Strange, I'm running 10.8 but "Apple Loops" and "Untagged Loops" is not showing on my layout. mommy
I have the same issue. is there a fix or a way to view these?
@@dcardinale I found it. Drap a loop manually into the loop dialog box and the option will show up. Worked here.
Logic is an excellent DAW in some respects, but the browser manager is EMBARRASSING to say the least! Just like the search for plugins, which has existed in every DAW for years now, not to mention the problem of slow audio, any modification in real time doesn't work, it's incredible, they deal with absurd things like dolbi atmos, which honestly doesn't I don't even know how many use it, while on iPad logic seems to have taken a leap into the future..!
my logic is not being able recognize my hard drive with all the sample packs of mine, it only works when the folders are on the desktop as it is, any idea how to sort this out?
