Xasthur - In The Hate of Battle Игры
As someone in the just-played-my-first-game phase of the hobby, these "news from the frontlines" vids are helpful in a few ways:
1. It's nice to see how a veteran player can find fun in and engage with a not-exciting faction / edition--gives me the sense this is like, part of the game's longterm "this, too, shall pass" weather patterns.
2. The casual glimpses into the competitive scene and deeper understanding of the game ("something everyone was sleeping on initially"; the crunchiness of the lists) are tantalizing--they get me excited to get out there and learn more.
3. I feel pretty good about having pivoted to Kill Team lol. I picked up Kommandos in part because your vids make orks seem so fun, and I've been having a blast. If you ever need a break from memes, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts / suggestions re: KT
Yeah absolutely BDCF kill team arc when
I've been thinking for a while that the 10th ed detachments are being designed in a way that makes stuff like the meganobz situation inevitable.
Most detachments have the traits or stratagems keyed to only a certain few units, while units themselves are pointed on the army level. When a unit is, by active design, way better in a single detachment but has the same cost for all the detachments, then balance passes done with the intent of cutting down the upper outliers are inevitably going to frequently target overtuned units in the context of their best detachment, and something nerfed to more middling in the best detachment context will often unavoidably become sub par in any other detachment.
A similar problem existed before, take repentia in bloody rose for instance, but it wasn't ever so extreme because that was just cases like the melee units being naturally most complemented by the general melee buffing detachment. By 10th outright dividing detachment support by keywords it makes that ambient design issue into a more absolute design failure.
The strange thing is that some codexes have largely avoided this problem. CSM have only a few skew detachments while the rest are pretty general purpose. Comparing nids and marines as the launch factions even shows the disparity, where assimilation swarm is so extremely restrictive as to demand buying a whole half an army of specific units to work around it, while even the designated phobos and gravis themed detachments often better complement their opposites for things like infiltrating aggressors up the board or boosting the phobos snipers for sitting still.
I'm excited about AoS 4. But Da Twin Towerz is a chef's kiss name for a double stompa list.
10th edition and - surprisingly - the ork codex made me pivot to AoS too...
Im just making things i like at this point. Im always big on squighog boys since i came into the game when they were pretty hot stuff last edition. Got to play a friends ork army and was sold on them. Im just replacing most of my meganobs with squighog boys since i dont care if they have bigger bases i like the models. And free heroic intervention is nice.
i just bought 15 meganobs im gonna mega knock my skull into pieces
im still gonna run them all in battlewagons and just drive forward
i find the mega armoured warboss with the tellyporta to be really fun to use, u can rapid ingress them in and force your opponent to deal with it or just accept their fate next turn
Thanks mate. As a casual garagehammer player love your outlook on mixing it up and just having fun.
Two stompas is me bread and butter
God I love that Snorlax bean bag
Great vid! Working on a one stompa dreadmob list now!
I'm sad because I didn't get to play with 4+ FNP Meganobz with rerollable 1 armor saves.
I leterally just learned the 10nth edition rules. As someone who doesnt play often the rules changing all the time is anoying.
Yeah I started in 10th, I’m switching to One Page Rules. It’s more of what I’m looking for in a game anyway.
I bought aos Dino men and frog wizards, I'll catch up with 40k in a year or two
On the plus side none of my legend units went up 😁
this is like a better auspex tbh
i find my self like a yoyo with auspex, i sub then unsub. recently i realized why, his voice is soooo boring that i switch off and stop listening.
For da boyz
For real though Dread Mob is the list I want to play with anyway and aside from a couple of extra points spent on a MANz brick eith Stealth, literally nothing has changed.
Kill team mentioned ‼
I actually like the 5+++ MANZ change; 4+++ should be super rare. 40 points is obviously too high and we just have to wait for a fix in 6 months/1 year/someday. Love the excuse to pull the Morkanaut down off the shelf and go for 4x hazardous.
I don't think its as bad ss your saying, buy I'm peeking at Kult of Speed:
This is what I'm running:
1 beastboss
1 warboss
1 Deffkill war trike
1 mek
1 20x boys
1 10x beast snaggas
1 10x grot
2 3x deff kopta
1 battle wagon
1 hunta rig
2 kustom boosta blasta
3 shokk jump dragsta
1 rukatrukk squig buggies
2 megatrak scrapjets
1 3x bikers
1 6x bikers
2,000 points even...
I think GW is secretly planning on getting me into AoS 4.0 at this point
Does the FAQ stating that warbosses dont get their special waaagh abilities if theyre in transports when its called change your playstyle for the bully boyz/warhoard lists at all? Or do you just take the extra protection of keeping em in the transport in exchange for the lower damage output?
I've been collecting Orks for a while now so the army is fairly large (I'm not like a 20,000 point veteran or anything, but its decent) and I pretty much just get what I like when it comes to models, so I'm fine, I can flex into whatever and have fun.
But I just play for fun, I'll run what I want and have fun with it and that's generally the way to go. I'm feeling dread mob and have been having fun kitbashing stupid shit together.
Hey Tyler, love your content as always and I couldn’t agree more that now is the time to lean into goofy stuff. With Battleline being more important than ever and pivoting rules getting easier, is now the time to put 3 Kill Rigs on the table and see what happens? Think they have play in Warhorde stuffed with Beastbosses and beast boys alongside 3 Trukks with 5 man nobs/warbosses
I think the pivot rule isn’t allowed in the pariah nexus missions. A 7” model like a Ghost Ark or something would get 3.5” of free movement just by deploying sideways.
it is, it works slightly differently but it does. the rule applies to all models not on a circle base, instead of just monsters or vehicles. RAW ghost arks can pivot infinitely for free because they're mounted on a circle base and it's weird.
I’ve been seeing dread mob do good under the radar! Dying to try it again now! I’m sad to see green tide go so bad! It was my favourite orky fun list! Got one last run at a GT tomorrow (pre data slate)
As a long time Ork player (my only real army) I’m gonna try dreadmob more competitively!
Tempted to try bully boyz still but with no megaz and just pack it with nobz and scoring units!
I’d love to see kult of speed be good but it’s the worst and with nexus it’s only going to be worse! They should make bikes battleline! Hordes of bikes with deffkoptas and dakka jets would be fun! I’d probably avoid all buggies! Maybe put 20 boyz with a boss and painboy in a battle wagon with trukk boyz could be cool
Just gotta play em as world eaters now
I have 18 Meganobz now. Even tho I won't play them in a while I'm happy I got them. I had 6 originals. And now 12 from puppets war. Painted them up like hulk busters. Was a ton of fun.
Now I guess I'm going into Kult of speed. I have 9 Deff Koptas that still need painting. And I don't have one of each buggy yet. Won't be good but I don't care now. Just have fun at the moment.
The only 40k content I still consume.
Reported for hatespeech for lack of Grot trash talking. Truly un-orky behavior that is!
Love how you aren't so uptight about playing the strictest meta shit like some other tubers with some very strong opinions... It's almost like its a game and not a job!
Would love to know your thoughts on deff dreads a little more, 130pts just seems so steep for the wound profile, kanz just seem like a better option every-time and that makes me sad.
I kind of like them with Skorchas honestly! They’re too expensive but 130 is still playable. 3 skorcha/1 klaw, 3 km/1 klaw, or all klaw are all sort of okay. They’re not insane but a 2+ and smallish base that you can hide sometimes makes them more practical than Killa Kans, who constantly move block each other.
yo, tell me about your KT stuff. Been really enjoying it with friends on TTS the last year
Your opinions on orks validate me in the same ways Taylor swift validates me.
Thanks Taylor/Tyler.
RIP to our boyz
I get to play like 3-4 games a month only and a week ago bought 80 additional boyz, because green tide was what I expected Orks to be like when I got into 40K. Honestly kind of heartbroken that they nerfed them to shit, before I even get to play a single game with them.
I think they’re still fine in most contexts honestly, I think they’re just not going to be a tournament winning staple for a while. In most casual settings they’re probably still incredible and even in like casual competitive level rtts I think they’re totally fine. This feels like something that feels bad if you were planning the next few majors you’re attending around them and okay in most other settings. I think to me it mostly feels bad because it’s too much at once, removing re-rolling 1s on its own would have been enough, the 6++ was unnecessary. I hope you still get to play them and I hope it goes great for you.
@@billiondollarclownfarmthanks man, good to hear that they will probably still be fine in a casual setting. Appreciate the good vibes. I will for sure try them out the weekend after the next.
was in the middle of getting into the hobby via green tide and thought I was smart not going for the prime offender of ork detachments
Isn't weirdboy 65pt now?
As a player whose main armies are orks and CSM I'm having whiplash from both loving and then hating GW. It's not that they brought down what was overpowered, It's the sheer inconsistency and the lack of focus on what they are doing and things that need to be brought up as well.
They set a standard around necrons and admech That they're going to let the data come in for a bit before making changes, and then they immediately break it and Nerf things that are not massively out of line before we even have the dado on them. CSM especially here more so the stat check podcast still had index results in it and what they did see wasn't even alarming yet It was an under 50% win rate.
And then when they do nerf, They do the GW classic of figuring out ways they can make something weaker and then instead of choosing one they do them all. Seriously just change the FNP and leave the points and let it mellow for 3 months, You get to change the points again in 3 months see how it went! Same with green tide and the other horde armies getting their stratage of nerfed like guard, why are we dropping heavy nerfs when this has been a vehicle meta and we're not even giving people time to change their lists which is going to change it before they have to use the different tools they have?
And a complete lack of care or thought, why is the pain boss nerfed? Why Nerf raptors? Neither of those were good. And They just dumpstered dread talons units, which was already bad, without any changes to compensate them! Absolutely ridiculous. And no love for buggies? No love for Disco Lords? No real thought or consideration on second order effects from all the major general rules changes made? This is just some inexcusable behavior honestly.
Tyler you should upload every day.
Kult of Speed players drowning in a puddle of their own tears with grenade/tank shock/action nerfs. Im too afraid to even learn the new pivot rules for my buggies.
Don’t think that matters cause they have a oval base
Does feel a bit like Orks got punished for having one of the few good codexes
Just play speed kult and go fastaaaaa (also it wins games and its pretty good to do actions)
More big choppas...
Dread mob is actually better now - due to the change to bring it down.
3d printed 15 mega nobz, haven't even had a chance to play with them kek glad I didn't buy GW
Hey a little off topic but do you know the game turnip28? Feel like you would really like it
It looks great I think I would too, I’ve been following it for a few years now and have talked to max about rules but still haven’t played
Yeah, kneeing the meganobz in the nutz twice is just mean. They just dropped of a cliff now. They are not doing 40p a model work soo I guess the meganobz mold needed to cool down or something.
I'm going to remove them from my Dreadmob and put in some other Bs.
Hopefully GW feels bad and don't nerf Orks more in 10th so we can be the Sleeper Stars of 40k.
My Hunky boyz are less Hunky :(
But I love Green Tide.... :-(
