Jumped off 3 grams of pure fent a day, cold Turkey, 17 days ago, after 2 precipitated wd’s in 3 days. Never felt better. Hardest 2 weeks of my life but I’m coming out the other side. We are definitely stronger than we think. You must be incredibly resilient to get off methadone like that. Respect.

I was on 60 three weeks ago. Now down to 20.

@@FitzSchlitz I’ve been upto 100ml which Im told is equivalent to 100mg.
We get sugary liquid methadone in UK and someone told me Americans get methadone differently but the measurements are 1 for 1.
20ml is 20mg etc.
I was snowballing for 25 years so my habit was bad.
But I never understand how people struggle reducing from high amounts?
Im not knocking anyone, but for me I could drop from 100 to 90 and not even notice.
It only hurts when you’re down under 20ml, then I have to slow down and reduce 2ml at a time.
This methadone has destroyed teeth and I’m sure my bones are cracking because of 10yrs on Methadone.
I can’t wait to be clean and smell the fresh air, enjoy food. Maybe even have a normal Libido again.

I went upto 100ml. Apparently americans don’t use ml but I’ve been told 100ml is 100mg. I occasionally drank 200-300ml which is 200-300mg I think.
That amount made me feel great.
I snowballed (speedball, crack n heroin)
For 25yrs.
My point is, I find it easy to drop 10ml and not even feel it. 3 or 4 days later do another drop of 10ml.
The only time I would slow down is when you get down to 20ml because a 10ml drop there would hurt.
So slow down at 20ml. Im dropping to 15ml right now so hopefully it will be painless.
Also I go on 3 walks a day for a hour each.
It helps use up that energy we get in our legs. Like your legs will ache anyway so why no exercise and it actually aches less.
I get bad sleep but compares to ‘cold turkey’ this is easy.

I only stopped because all my surface veins collapsed.
I don’t like the groin cos I seen to many cripples from missing the groin.
Stuck a snowball in my c0ck once because I couldn’t find a vein.

I’ve got off methadone before a couple of times.
Walking and healthy eating seems to be making this rapid reduction a lot easier.
I saw your video my friend and had to join the comments. I will be 58yo next month. 9 years now on methadone. Highest was 65mg for first year. Been on 20mg now for 7 years. Went down to 10mg 3 years ago but started eating xanax like crazy, so they asked me to go back up to 20mg. I would love to get off completely because of a few side effects i hate. But man a year now and you are still struggling through it! That is exactly what scares the crap out of me. At my age i cant afford to lay in bed for a year or more struggling with paws. I am so on the fence about what to do. Maybe you can explain some of those "aids" you used to me. I just know I will need serious help if I am going to struggle that long. Rock on my friend keep on keepin' on.
@moeywill yeah…Xanax is no good for anyone I know. Please know that I was not in bed for a year. I was in bed for the the first month…maybe two. I started feeling better the 3rd-4th month. I feel great now and am three years methadone free! The aids were personal choices that I can’t recommend to anyone as I am not a doctor. It was entheogenic in nature though. I have gone from 90 mgs methadone, years ago, to now on 7 mgs. I went from 8 to 7mgs and this drop has been the hardest and most withdrawls I have had since I got off herion. My legs and my lower back are the worst. I can’t sleep I can’t lay down I can’t handle it. I didn’t sleep at all last night and I haven’t slept 3 hours total, one hour at a time throughout the day today. I’m absolutely miserable.
@paigecrosby4516 I totally understand!! I’m sorry you are going through this. I finally dropped off at 5mgs because I was listening to my body and I wanted to get it over with already. I was getting impatient but felt it was time. Are you feeling it out as far as when you’re going to drop off? Do you have a job that allows you some time off? Lmk how things are going. Do you take exercise. I know it’s shit but I swear you’ll feel better if you find somewhere to walk all on your own with nature. Do at least 1 a day but I do 3 some days.
I get help with a healthy diet because my mum said I could live with her until im clean.
I swear taking walks helps with sleep and it helps with pains.
Im only down to 15 ml (15mg) so maybe i’m about to hit the wall but I’ve dropped from 60ml in 20days.
@@d.tim1989man why take so fast down ? I dont understand maybe. I have a friend who was 14 years in methadone, then go down from 120mg to 0 in a little more than 2 years and didnt feel anything after get down. Its just need to go veeeery slow . If take 2mgs on every 2 weeks , instead of 40mgs for 20 days you will not feel such crap i think. Wish you all the best from my heart .
The long acting opioids are the worst to get off, especially if you been using for several years. I abruptly stopped using buprenorphine at 2mg after almost 18 years and im still going through pretty intense withdrawals even after 3 months. Listen when we're finally clear from this misery we'll be warrior's. Yeah man methadone and suboxone are absolutely the worst. Im constantly wishing I were taking a shorter acting opioid all these years because atleast then the withdrawals would be significant shortened.
You are a strong sonofagun! I'm currently on 115mg for the last 12 years and I've made detoxing off this out to be this HUGE monster. Akin to something that can't be done. So, seeing stories/testimonials like these give me hope.

Your a fkn HERO. Wow your tapers were CRAZY- 5mls a fortnight is the max allowed legally in Scottish Highlands. I'm in the shower a LOT. But your story has made me laugh. I hear you with the 80ml mark. 6months off--- how is your body feeling & do you sleep? Nobody here has come off it & I'm unusual for reducing. I'm an outsider in the village as I moved here out of a woman's refuge 9yrs ago & got my own place here 5yrs ago. Yeah quite a few yrs in refuge rooms lol. Been cycling to the MOON all night and my guts are bubbling. Chemist open in 2hrs- yay!!! My hound Eloi looks after me v well. I'm sure he could tell I was ill this wkend. I'm afraid I kicked him out the bed last night for waking me several times after I struggled to sleep. I'm becoming a BITCH. LOL-

Methadone seriously help me out. I didn't wanna go over 100 milligram. Stayed at 90 than went down to 20 over a year. Getting off just 20 was the hardest thing I've ever done. 1 month of pain followed by months and months of depression. It helps but I wouldn't go on it at all.

@@FitzSchlitz 2 years total. Started at 40 milligrams and climbed my way up to 96. I loved the high but was seriously trading 1 drug for another more powerful drug. 2nd years is when I started tampering off and the effects of doing so was noticed immediately. I cut 2 milligrams grams every week till I hit 20. Stayed at 20 for a couple of months than decided 1 day not to go in and get my refills. Took a total of 1 year to feel normal for me.
@@FitzSchlitz my friends at the time who where on it told me about it. I did my research about the company and than the following day I just walked into the clinic. Saw the dr and was given my first dosage that day. All around pretty easy process. Took test and explained what drugs I took. Best and worst decision I ever made. Your probably the first person I ever went into detail about all this to tell you the truth. Also I feel at the clinic I was going to they where actively trying to get me to up my dosage.

I was on methadone for over seven years. And years before then using opiates iv. I found methadone sucked the life out of me it saved me but it has it consequences, I was a fast matabolizer so I never did get a full 24 hours of comfort as I tappered it got worse, waking up hurting everyday all stiff absolutely no energy untill I got my drink in me but the lower I got the less it helped. I only tappered 2mg every 2 weeks most untill I got down to about 16 mg then it was 1 mg every 2 weeks took me over three years to tapper long and dragged out tapper. I can't imagine coming off methadone like you that's crazy, methadone is a different animal to come off. I watched my kids mom come off 100mg cold turkey years ago it literally traumatized me she suffered in the worst pain, anzitity, insomnia, depression, fatigue, etc.. for about 5 or 6 weeks, then the pain subsided and she still suffered from majority of other mental symptoms for many months after. Because of what I seen her go through I was against methadone I was a active addict using iv for Years before I finally after so many rock bottoms decided to go on it. Methadone intimidated me after seeing her experience. Your a strong dude doing it like you did. Coming down slow like me was long and dragged out and all but coming all the way down I never had to deal with any really intense withdrawal. I recommend a slow tapper some people have very little trouble doing it slow. However I relaped just 2 weeks after coming off after being clean 7 years, didn't expect cravings to come back and wasn't prepared. I ended up using dayly for a fee months and then went on a quick 14 day suboxone stabalize and tapper to get off the opiates. It has worked so far I didn't want to go back on long term opiate matience. I'm on day 19 today of no opiates or subboxone and starting to feel better. Alot of medicated rehabs do the rapid suboxone stableile and tapper to get people off opiates to keep them as feeling normal as possible. I was skeptical it could work but it did, the idea is the short period taking suboxone does not alow it to really alter brain chemistry long enough to make it a long hard wd because long term suboxone is also he'll to come off. I did have withdrawal after I stopped slight body achs, some insomnia low energy etc.. but nothing compared to full blown regular opiate or methadone withdrawal. In the end methadone and suboxone, kadian, etc.. and bandaids keeps you clean wile your on, but I learned us people with opiate use disorder will have to fight this illness the rest of our life's. I came of benzos in the past a couple times high doses and I can tell you benzo withdrawal is he'll long and hard cycological warfare, body achs insomnia, paranoia, etc.. and it last so long. Nutrition, exercise, rest on repeat are key at getting back to normal from opiates and benzos. Those three things will drastically boost dopamine and endorphins increase gabba production etc.. which will balance brain chemistry and help you feel better so much faster. I've been down this road so many times everytime I had clean time I was active in working out and living healthy it was when I slacked off got busy or lazy I relaped. And times I got clean the exercise etc is what got me back to normal asap. This comment is probably all over the place my brain is still damaged prob never will get back to normal so my memory is fked. Methadone decreases gray matter in the brain and down regulates several areas of the brain that has to do with learning, problem solving and understanding memory etc.. it decreases bone density lowers testosterone etc.. it's nasty stuff and benzos really puts a beating on the brain as well stopping gabba production and affecting memory central nerves etc.. hard drugs. But it can be done one can get off them if they really want to. If I can do it anyone can. Thanks for the video and Goodluck to u and everyone. Sorry for the long ramble

I jumped off 20mg in the prime of my life and it took a good 7-8 months to get through everything methadone is a crazy withdrawal. Once you get to 30mg you must slow down to 2.5mg per 7 days tops unless you are in a special rehab !

But thirty years later since I did that I’m reducing slowly I’m down to 50mg from 150mg and using now and then it’s just not a life I would want for anyone. Hey man, not sure if you still check this but I tapered really slow (1mg a month) down to 1mg. Currently been on 1 mg a week my plan is 1 mg for a month and then jump off. Maybe I could just go 1 more week and be fine. But it's good to hear from other people who have gotten off methadone.
I do check this as often as possible. Awesome to hear your progress!!! I myself would go a month at least for your last step down. Your body will let you know. @@FitzSchlitz really appreciate you man! I have been on for 5 years...highest dose was 150mg for about a year n a half...tapered down fairly fast to 100 mg. I started the 1 mg a month at 60mg from 100 to 60 I did 5mg a week and then slowed it way down. All started with a script for vicodens from the doc after an ATV accident did the pill thing for about 2/1/2 years and got on methadone. Thanks again for your reply!

@@jesusmalave3340 officially off methadone 8 days and honestly I feel amazing so far. Maybe a few hot/cold flashes first few days but things are going really good in my life so I think that helps too. Slow was the way to do it. 1 mg a month until I hit one. I actually misspoke in the first message I said that I had only been on 1 mg for 1 week it was actually going on 2...had to go back and look at old bottles but I haven't returned to the clinic and don't plan on it. I feel good. I will keep y'all posted and if there is anything I could share about my experience that would help anyone out there trying to get off of it...I would definitely love to do that.
Personally, I think the long acting benzo is more dangerous. I agree that benzo helps with withdraw, but a short acting benzo is much safer like Xanax is better than kpins. The detox from kpins takes YEARS (not to say from Xanax it’s not) but the people I know that have gotten off of k pins have experienced the longest PAWS ever. The suicide rate is unreal. I’m sorry to bring that up, as I personally know what an assistance benzos can be, but long acting benzos, esp k pins are soooooo dangerous afterwards.

I find it more than odd now, but at the time of asking for an increase, I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to even question it. My dumb ass! You live and learn though, right!? I chose to take them…I’m disappointed in that choice but am proud of myself that I have come somewhat full circle. Which is not for the faint of heart and I would not suggest to anyone! The data on quoting opioids is skimpy because all these doctors simply haven’t experienced it. It’s too subjective. Your courage to post videos is more than I could manage yet they give people info and hope. It’s monumentally useful, brother.

@@ellen9925 First of all, congratulations!! The first year was the hardest part for me. You rock! Gastrointestinal, energy and sleep were a bit all over the place. This year beginning my 4th year methadone free, I am realizing that everything had to wake up and get settled. At this point things are great but after that first year my body was still trying to acclimate to the change off methadone. I kept busy when possible. I’m proud of you and I hope you keep truckin’!! Oh man methadone and klonopin! That's what I did for years. I had burn holes in everything I owned. Jesus it was so bad. And pure hell to stop to boy.. I was forced to stop in jail!! Oh my god!!!!!
How many years John? In jail …holy moly man! How long have you been off and are you feeling better? Have you plateaued with your brain chemistry or are things still lingering?
@@FitzSchlitz it was only 8 months in jail. And I stayed in jail knowing I might never have that opportunity to get off the drug again.. it was pretty bad but after I'd say 6 months I was getting better fast. Soon as I felt ready I got out of jail pretty much. Yeah I'm fine now. But I felt the effects for about a year. But only about 6 months where really bad. It sucks but you can and do recover completely..I did anyway. I felt about as good when I left as I ever have. So yeah I'm better. Thanks for asking. I dont talk about it much.most people really cant imagine what its like
@@FitzSchlitz oh and I'd been on and off methadone and benzos over a 15 year period. Always fighting it. The hardest part is being sick for so long.who can afford to not work for a year or so you know? That's why I just stayed in jail. I had family who could have bailed me out. Yes I am on a MMT certified program. No benzo use just MMJ. Does is 100mg been on that for about a month and a half. Stayed on 95mg for 4 or 5 months but kept slipping. So my counselor suggested it. Total I’ve been on on the clinic for just over a year. I’ve been looking for someone to correspond with as I’m isolated. Like my GF is an earth person and I have cut ties those old friends. It’s has given me some hope. I’m still here and a lot of my friends aren’t. Hit me up we can compare notes .

I am reducing off the stuff now. I was on 90 mils I am down to 40. I have not used anything for about 6 months. All the heroin etc is fake rubbish and I was so done with it all. So here I am been doing great. I dropped 90 to 70 with no problem then 60 for one month 50 40 with really no withdrawal one night I forget to take and woke up at 6 am with restless leg but that was it been easy so far. But I am worried what it will be like when I am off all of it. As even 5 mils will cloud your thinking some. So hopefully by X mas I will be a free man. For anyone out there wanting to stop heroin. Methadone can work if you do it right. But I would try rehabs first detox etc. As when you go on this stuff it's not a quick process and can take years but a life of addiction is not a quick process either. At least on this you are not ratting and having to buy heroin or the utter garbage they call it now it gives you a base to build from. You can use that base as a safety net and keep using and lots do that or you can do it right and get off the junk. Peace.

And it was a slow down hill spiral from them on i never injected until I was 30 then done real damage to the viens and stopped using for years then relapsed again i have always had long periods of staying clean to get healthy. But i am getting old now and I understand that I dont have time for chasing h or relapsing again. This is it last chance saloon. I am 41 I ain't wasting what little remains of my youth and health. So I have been doing great I go for walks feed the birds try eat fruit etc just small steps at a time. You need to go back to the basics imo. I'm in the same boat. Just stopped buprenorphine after 18 years. Suffering every minute of every day. Been this way for almost 3 months. The only time I get relief is when I take a sedative/hypnotic before bed. All we can do is keep pushing through!!
2 months after methadone is about when my paws started hitting me pretty hard,im 4 months off and getting some what normal days but it comes in waves.
@@pigeonsil240sx I know what you mean. I'm a little over 100 day's and the withdrawals come and go. I mean there always kinda there but sometimes especially at night they increase in intensity. My ears are constantly popping and ringing all day which is very agitating but I'll take it over other symptoms. I can finally say after such a long, and sweaty time the withdrawals seem to be sorta fading away but it takes so dam long for even minor changes to occur. Bro if you can get ambien or belsomra to help with the insomnia it's a HUGE relief and something to look foward to. It's what helped me get through the worst period and I still use it for the insomnia to hekp calm the central nervous system at night. I rotate between ambien and belsomra. It's something I look forward to now. With these sleeping pills you get to just end the day peacefully and rest.

The only time i did was about the first 2-3 weeks where I would fall asleep then get pulled out of dream over and over, even then i was able to still get 6 hours of sleep. after the acute stage sleep has been easy, Iam prescribed clonidine for withdrawals so maybe thats whats helped?

@@FitzSchlitz yeah.. it’s just the nights.. like it’s always been the nights that are the worst, no sleep etc, I haven’t even started yet I had my dose this morning, so I’m working myself up that I feel like I’m going through it. Anxiety through the roof! I’ve been coming down 2ml every two weeks, I’ve been slowly coming down from 70ml.. I’ve haven’t been on a really high dose in years, so I’ve tapered all the way down to 19ml.. lowest I’ve ever been at, so I don’t think it’s going be like some videos I’ve seen of a guy coming off it from 80ml, but it’s still obviously going be bad. And it’s the not knowing how long it’s going to be!

@@FitzSchlitz I was at 160 it was hurting my body. Running super hot and couldn't use bathroom. I went down about 5 a week until 30mg then went down 1 a week. I didn't go down every week sometimes I gave it a break. Been on about 4 years.

It didn’t mess with my stomach. I also remember running short for the month and getting withdrawal symptoms. No good. Lmk what you think. So how long has it taken for you to feel right again? I’ve been on methadone for 20 years. Started young, but I’m finally ready to get clean, I was never meant for this life, I’ve never robbed or gone jail etc, so I’m just trying to gather as much info as possible!
I’m still getting back to normal. I was a 20 year club as well. The first 1-2 months were rough but flew by, oddly enough. The best part for me is learning who I am. I wasn’t my true self on 160mg of methadone! It’s a great trip. I suggest buying the ticket and taking the ride!💪🏼👍🏼. Even though I may be in paws for however long I wouldn’t do it any other way. It takes time to get your chemicals back to what normal is for you, but a great experience every day. I also hurt a lot of family and friends during my hazy days. I get to apologize and forgive myself now….which is more positively powerful than I ever imagined! I’m not a jailbird or a thief, but nodded off constantly. How much is/was your max daily dose? Do you get it from a clinic, prescription or the streets? All these things make a difference on how you should ween. Most doctors will give you an unrealistic rate at which to taper. Lmk my friend and I hope all is well! ✌🏼❤️

@@FitzSchlitz yeah like 13 when I got on it, the wrong crowd, but I’ve had enough now, I’m mentally ready, I know it’s going be the most difficult thing I’ve ever had do but the most rewarding, I thought initially I could get it done in a week, I’m down to 25ml but after reading up properly about it I’ve heard it can be months which fucking sucks man.. I’m in the uk, I get 7 days at a time because I’m trusted and haven’t used heroin in years.. I’ve lost my mum and grandad to and got no other family, so unfortunately they won’t be here to see me get through it, I’m on my own.. it’s just work., I really don’t think I can have longer than 2 months off 😩 but as you know, there’s no way you can. Work in that state! Keep it up man, we can do it, we deserve better in life!

Opiate withdrawal after long term use is hell. Add benzo wd to that and holy hell. Not many can get through it. You can't understand it if you haven't been through it yourself.

Still picking away at it . Down to 2.5mg . I got enough for maybe 2 weeks at that dose if i stay at that dose or jump after a week. . Either way two weeks is the max i have the meds for. My drops from 10,7.5.5 has been pretty tolerable. Sleeping ok and all. Just stay tired really. Im glad things are getting better for you! Im hopeful my journey doesnt take as long but it is what it is at this point. Ill add im losing weight from not eating all the damn time from the methadone lol

One of the best things that was ever told to me.. just work on coming down slowly.. he never said I had to get off of it or kick it.. never forgot those words.. that was from my sponsor years ago.. he's gone now.. off the juice 15 years.. thank you Bob..r.i.p.

I’m right there with you. Topped out at 50mg down to 30mg. I feel like any buzz I got is gone. And starting to feel it in the legs. Along with irritability. Been on for almost 2 months. How about you? I realized I have to get off asap before I get really bad. I don’t know how I’m going to get through the last 30.
I was on it since 2015…. I’m going down one mg every 2 weeks, I had a opiate addiction spending $200 a day on percs, oxys etc.. I’m currently on a take home program I get 6 carry outs and I go Mondays.. the clinic is about a 20 minute drive away. I’m currently not experiencing anything unpleasant but like you said just no buzz or motivation I just feel lazy and bleh some days I can’t eat and I can barely crap from these meds I have to drink a ton of water and it’s ruining my teeth… I can’t imagine what it’s doing to my insides. I’m 26 and I have to get top dentures because it rotted my teeth away
@@Brayden204x yeah man, similar story. I ended about $200 a day. Destroyed any sort of savings and most my possessions. I hate myself for it. Good thing you are fixing it in your 20’s. I’m 38 now. The clinic makes it so hard to taper. Here, they take away your take homes when tapering. If you do it their way, have to go in 3 times a week and lose the weekly’s. If you want to go down faster, it’s back to everyday. So I figured as long as I’m going there everyday, might as well try to get off. My top teeth were badly damaged. By getting off I was able to have just enough money to get root canals but not crowns. To allow me to eat and drink without pain. Just a thought if you have a little extra. It’s the crowns that cost you. It’s hard with nobody to through this with. That’s why I chat with people on RUclips. It makes me feel like I’m not alone. People don’t understand when we say we got down to 34mg or 30mg. It’s a big deal to us. Like a hard earned accomplishment. Every else looks at it like your still on methadone so what’s the big deal. I thought by getting off so soon it wouldn’t be so painful. Unfortunately the people that are going through a similar time frame are having pretty serious withdrawals. I know I couldn’t kick fentanyl, I wonder if methadone was a mistake. I’ll learn very soon if I can’t keep lowering it. Hope to hear from you. Thanks for the reply. The agitation is so bad. if methadone works for you stay on it for life. i would, but unfortunately i have side effects life excessive sweating, hot flashes, and i cant be comfortable with it. so ive been tapering 1mg a week. but some ppl need to stay on it for life. i wish i didnt have side effects.

I was good for 2 or 3 years then i turned methadone right back into my old drug habits. 10 years of over taking and over taking. The last year ive stuck to my actual dose but want to just quit. I know i never will but i still torcher myself thinking i have to.
